Disappear
I went straight to Gramm's house and started shoving clothes into my bag. I had zero idea where I intended on going I just knew here was the last place I should be.
By now Jeremy's already spread the word of Kol & Elena's demise and without a doubt Damon will be on my doorstep. Klaus of course will buy me some time but with the amount of hurt and anger I was harboring, nobody else was safe from me.
I tossed my duffle bag over my shoulder and quickly hooked Rudy's leash to his harness. I bolted down the steps scooping my keys & wallet up as I passed. I froze in my tracks as the front door opened, nobody could get in here except for Caroline. Well obviously Jeremy & Matt could but they didn't count.
I readied myself for confrontation almost immediately but the sight of Bonnie made me relax.
"Alicia, when I told you this morning. I never intended for any of this to happen." She quickly said, I titled my head. She was hopped up on expression & grief while I was just hopped up on grief. I don't think either of us felt a need to hurt the other."I hoped you knowing would keep him away. I'm so sorry I couldn't get there sooner."
"I don't blame you, you tried to help. But I know you didn't just come here to apologize."
"We haven't ever been able to find Silas' head stone. Shane insisted he had it up until you & Kol killed him." Bonnie explained, my eyes suddenly filled up with hope. Kol filled my head about how evil Silas was, how if he was to rise he'd cause hell on earth.
But Bonnie..
She believed Shane who insisted Silas would revive everybody who died in the quest to raise him.
Kol wasn't even dead an hour yet and I'm sure he was already rolling his eyes at me even entertaining the thought.
"Kol told me Silas was bad news Bonnie. Like worse than his family."
"Do you trust me?" She asked. I sighed Bonnie knew she'd always be my weakness. She was the one person on this earth who I would lose myself completely if she wasn't around.
"With my life."
"Tell me where the stone is, nobody is going to attack you for what happened. I made Jeremy promise not to say anything." She pleaded." We can fix everything, we can bring Elena, Kol & Gramm's back. And Kol can take the cure and everything will be fine."
I glanced at Rudy who stared between the two of us almost as if he was trying to figure out who was making the most sense.
"If Silas turns out to be exactly what Kol said he was, promise me you'll be safe. Promise me you will call me. I will come running and we will solve this shit together." I replied. Bonnie nodded with tears in her eyes." The old witches house cloaked in the basement."
"Thank you." Bonnie smiled pulling me into a hug." Take care of yourself."
"Always."
"Let this be the last time you run away." She teased. I rolled my eyes and forced a smile. I was in no shape or form happy but she was what I needed right now." Can I know where you're going this time?"
"No clue yet, I'm gonna let Tiana pick and we'll go from there." I replied, Bonnie nodded finally breaking our hug she headed out the door.
"Take care of yourself."
"Right back at you." I replied as Bonnie closed the door behind her. I checked the house over one more time before heading out the door myself. I climbed into my car and dialed Tiana's number.
"My witchy other half." She purred, I snorted at her cheesy greeting."What can I do for you?"
"Pick a destination where you & I can meet up very quickly. I'm already driving."
"Memphis, Tennessee." She answered after a brief pause."You know I can come to Mystic Falls?"
"I need to get away so Memphis it is." I replied quickly." Send me the address."
"Alicia? Is everything okay?"
"I'll fill you in when I get there just please the address." I replied, Tiana let out a sigh before my phone vibrated. I put the address she sent me into my GPS and started my long drive.
"Now spill." Tiana ordered before I could even close the car door. I'd met her in front of a cozy looking house. She was sitting on the porch sipping away at what was obviously blood in a martini glass.
"Kol's dead."
"What?" Her jaw dropped as she struggled to find the words to say."Who? How? Why?"
"Elena & Jeremy. They killed him because he compelled Damon to kill Jeremy." I responded flopping down on the stairs beside Tiana. She pulled a bottle of wine out from behind her back and slid it to me.
"I knew something happened, I just didn't think it was that bad."
I took a big sip of the wine and frowned l always seemed to have the best luck around my birthday.
I honestly haven't even gotten to celebrate it in so long.
"I gave Bonnie the stone and my blessings to raise Silas, I'm just hoping it actually works out."
"Alicia, why would you do that? Isn't that the exact opposite of what Kol wanted?" She asked incredulously. I took a big swig from the bottle and shrugged." If you weren't a witch, I would think your switch was off.
"Girl, I'm not going back there. I'm gonna have them mail me my diploma and we're going to New Orleans." I replied passing the bottle back to Tiana she took a small sip and put it down on the step between us.
"You know they didn't abandon looking for you two? It was so bad Davina had to cast a few spells on me because they kept following me." She explained, I raised an eyebrow surprised the girl was even still alive if she'd also had the witches after her.
"And nobody killed you?"
"Ouch it's nice to know everybody thinks I'm some sort of softy. I'm Marcel's left hand woman." She sounded so proud of herself."Also I'm not sure if it applies to you too, but Davina got this crazy power boost after the ritual. She apparently can sense when the witches are doing magic."
"That's definitely a plus 100 buff." I let out a low whistle. I heard faint whimpering from the car and quickly stood up forgetting I didn't let Rudy out.
I sprinted over and popped the door open the dog hopped out and ran straight up to Tiana. Maybe he just really liked people who I liked.
Tiana randomly lobbed a knife across the street I heard a faint grunt before the sound of something falling over.
"Quarter Witch?"
"Yup. You should probably go inside." Tiana stood to her feet and flashed across the street. I scooped up the bottle and grabbed Rudy's leash and went into the living room, I took a seat on the couch and kicked my feet up.
It took Tiana around 10 minutes to come back and she honestly looked very unfazed by what just happened. Maybe we could stop babying her, she was one of the strongest creatures in existence and somehow we all still saw her as a scared little girl.
"So being Marcel's left hand man means what exactly?"
"Woman." She corrected with a playful eye roll." I'm either protecting you or I'm with Davina. You are a lot easier to find than she is. If they do magic in the Quarter she'll know, however if somebody does a spell outside using traditional magic, we won't know."
"I've been cloaked since I left."
"To your hometown. Only an idiot wouldn't think to check there. I keep tabs on the witches and if they leave town I follow them. That one must've left right behind me." She explained, I scoffed remembering my Mother claimed to have killed a bunch of witches not too long ago.
"My mom claims she killed a few in Mystic Falls." I pointed out, Tiana snatched the bottle and took a large sip of it. I snorted knowing whatever she was about to say she was very salty about it.
"Oh? Marcel's men were pissed I sent 5 into town just for your mom to have killed them maybe 5 minutes before they all arrived."
"I hoped she was lying."
"Nah, you my dear are very important." Tiana teased." Honestly I'm not sure if I respect you or think you're crazy for deciding to come back to New Orleans."
"Right? I think I did burn that bridge with the coven, however I'm looking forward to this power boost I'm about to get."
"Always on the quest for power."
"Aren't we all." I shrugged while digging through my bag."But for the next few days while we are here. We are going to party and live it up."
I pulled out a sexy black body con dress and tossed it to Tiana while pulling out a dark blue one for myself. Wordlessly the two of us got dressed, the same ritual I had with Bonnie and Caroline easily happened with Tiana. We both took turns doing each others hair and make up.
I had two goals for the week, get Tiana to fully spill about her & Marcel because left hand woman sounded like bullshit and to be black out drunk so I couldn't feel upset.
We ended up at some random night club, the fact the place was packed on a random weeknight was exactly what I needed.
Tiana compelled our way in and then compelled us our own private section.
And party we did, I felt pleasantly numb while Tiana turned away man after man who tried to slither there way into our fun.
"No fucking way." Tiana yelled annoyed. I put my drink down and followed her line of sight. I squinted barely making out a boy who had a strikingly similar appearance to Tiana.
"Bitch you got a brother?" I asked the boy flashed a grin at me before jumping over the rope and letting himself in. He pulled Tiana into a bear hug.
"Baby sister!"
"This is Damian." Tiana scoffed shoving him away either he was overdramatic or she used her hybrid strength cause the boy landed on me.
"I'm Alicia." I smiled as Damian stood up and pretended to dust himself off. He looked a lot like Tiana, honestly I wanted to say the resemblance was stronger than Bonnie & I's.
"Why did I pick Memphis?" Tiana groaned. I could tell it wasn't malicious though. They clearly had your typical brother sister relationship.
We spent the rest of the night drinking and dancing with Damian, he was definitely fun and what we needed. We headed back home pretty late with Damian coming along, it turns out that lovely home we were staying in was Damian's courtesy of Klaus.
The next morning I woke up to the loud annoying buzzing of my phone. I was definitely hungover and did not want to be bothered.
After feeling around for what felt embarrassingly like forever I finally answered it.
"You need to come to Elena's." Tyler practically ordered. I sat up rubbing my eyes confused why he was calling me.
"What? Why?"
" You don't know?" Tyler asked for a second I heard what sounded like sympathy before he coughed to hide it."Jeremy killed Kol, Klaus killed Elena and then Bonnie sealed him inside the house."
"I didn't know about the Bonnie part." I whispered lowly. It took so many drinks for me to not think about Kol and in an instant that was gone. I blinked away the tears swung my feet over the side of the bed." Why do you need me to come Tyler?"
"Bonnie is on the Island looking for the cure, I need you to take down the spell so I can get Caroline away from Klaus." He explained. I let out a sigh normally I'd say Caroline wasn't in any danger with Klaus but right now he definitely should be in a murderous mood."He bit her and she's dying. The last thing she needs is to be stuck in there with him."
"Tyler, I'm 12 hours away."
Yes I was concerned about Caroline, but I also had zero intentions of stepping foot back in that house. Knowing how petty Ty was Kol's body was definitely still sitting on the floor.
"Alicia, please."
"I'll call Bonnie and see if it's anything I can do from here. But Ty don't hold your breath. You'll have to hope Klaus doesn't actually want to hurt Care."
"Thank you."
I hung up and wiped the unshed tears from my eyes. I wasted no time calling Bonnie only to get irritated when her phone went straight to voicemail.
I shot her a quick text asking her to call me. My thumb lingered over Kol's thread. We very seldomly texted. I assumed it was easier with his old age just to call him. But every now and then he'd surprise me with a random text.
Hello, Darling.
Something that I loved to hear so much before completely broke my heart to see now.
With a shaky breath I pulled myself together and headed out my room. Damian crashed on the couch while Tiana was most likely hibernating in her room.
I slipped into the kitchen quietly and grabbed myself a bottle of water and a cupcake before trying to slink back to my room. I flinched dramatically at Damian sitting on the stairs.
"Oh please you do not scare that easily." He teased, I took a bite out of my cupcake and shrugged."How are you? You were definitely trashed last night."
"A hangover never stopped me before."
"What's your story? Tiana mentioned you when she came home. I honestly didn't expect to ever actually meet you."
"Not much to tell, I'm a special witch." I shrugged.
"Special enough that somehow my sister is 1 of 3 hybrids in existence? You got her out of town before the rest got killed."
"She's got a warm aura."
"And that's why she's alive? I appreciate it but I'm skeptical. Because here she is because you called. I could never get Tee to come here. Is she still some sort of slave?"
"What are you insinuating ?" I was getting annoyed, I'd done nothing but look out for that girl and here was Damian accusing me of the opposite."She picked this place. I just asked her to meet me anywhere."
"She did?" Damian glanced upstairs like he was listening to see if she was up and moving just yet."And New Orleans?"
"That was Klaus' last assignment for her to meet me in New Orleans, she however chose to stay after I left."
"My sister died. She killed someone and then she died. I worry about her." He confessed, any irritation I had felt for him washed away. I'd be the same way with Bonnie.
"I see Tiana as my little sister too. I'll never let anything happen to her."
I spent the rest of the morning in my room impatiently waiting to hear back from Bonnie. I knew I was using it as a way to not deal with my grief and I didn't care. I ended up gathering up all the candles in the house and setting them up in my room.
I hadn't done it in awhile and I hoped to god I didn't mess up. Failed astral projection hurt like a bitch.
I closed my eyes and focused on Bonnie. When I opened my eyes I was standing in a forest. Bonnie jumped back and screamed when she saw me.
"Don't do that!" She hissed. I let out a laugh as she reached out to hit me, her hand passed right through me.
"Can't touch this." I teased, I took a look around confused why she was out here by herself."Where is everybody?"
"I'm not sure. I was doing a locator spell to find Jeremy." She explained."While you're here you should just come with me."
"I don't have anywhere else to be. Who else came to the Island with you and where the hell are we?"
"Nova Scotia, well close to it." She explained as the two of us walked through the darkness, every few seconds she was careful to kick a rock or something behind us."And the usual suspects, Damon, Stefan, Rebekah."
"I didn't know Bekah was here." I replied, I wasn't really here but knowing she was around made me feel more at ease.
"She knew you had the stone and followed me when I went to get it. I felt bad for her given the circumstances and here she is."
"Thank you."
We walked the rest of the way in silence, I regretted not coming because we both really clearly needed each other right now.
Shane stared slack jawed as Bonnie & I joined him, Jeremy & some random guy. My powers of deduction assumed he was a witch.
"Alicia? When did you get here?" Jeremy asked he sounded shocked while his face just straight up held anger. I opened my mouth to answer but something told me not to.
"She must be the hatchet thrower." The witch commented, all eyes fell on me who just shrugged. I wasn't really there so I know I didn't throw anything but they clearly haven't caught onto it just yet.
"How did we get here and what happened to the path?" Bonnie asked looking behind her. I noticed her tiny rocks were definitely gone which wasn't a good sign already.
"That locator spell worked. And Massak." Shane replied gesturing to the guy." Should you try to escape he'll make sure you never find your way back."
"He's not stronger than either of us, so that's laughable." I retorted, Massek shot me a glare almost like he knew that but hoped we didn't. I realized after a moment he was trying to hurt me but since I wasn't there nothing happened.
"She's in astral form." He muttered he looked me over again and nodded almost appreciatively."She'll be gone soon, that's strong magic to hold."
Nobody else said anything as Shane wordlessly guided us. Massak kept glancing back at me clearly counting down the moment until I couldn't hold the spell any longer.
We approached a cave with a well in it. My body somehow started to feel tingling, a sense of uneasiness washed over me.
"This is as far as I go." Massak said, I mentally agreed with him. We shouldn't be here.
"We're on the brink of a monumental event in human history. We're gonna raise the most powerful immortal creature that ever lived." Shane boasted, he glanced at the four us. The witch scoffed and turned on his heel walking off without another word.
I started to feel a bit faint and groaned. Bonnie looked at me wearily without even needing to say a thing I nodded. The last thing I saw was a deep frown on her face before I opened my eyes and took a deep breath.
"Fuck! I didn't know what to do." Tiana said she was standing directly in front of me almost as if she was eye level with me seconds before. She held a bloody napkin in her hand, I didn't need to touch my nose to know it was my blood she was cleaning up.
"Over did it with the Astral Projection." I explained uncrossing my legs. I started to stand up but Tiana guided me back down. She pulled a bottle of water out of thin air and passed it to me. I downed nearly half of it as she sat down on the bed beside me.
"That was bad, I've seen the little nose bleeds you were leaking. It was so bad it woke me up from my sleep." She replied. I glanced down and spotted blood on my chest and tank top.
"I may have held it longer than I should've. I was with Bonnie while they looked for the cure. I got pulled back just as they went inside to get it."
"Cure?"
I palmed my forehead. In my maniac episode I'd never told Tiana the full story. I trusted the girl with my life and knew this information wouldn't go anywhere. So I filled her in on everything from the beginning. I told her the story of Silas & Quetsiyah. How the cure was the reason for Kol's death, when he died the hunter's mark probably finished so damn quick. The boy spent plenty of time daggered but I know his sireline had to be almost as big as Klaus'. Out of all his siblings those two felt like the type to just go around turning people.
"I could be human again?" Tiana asked, her voice was small and her brown eyes full of hope."Why didn't you mention any of this sooner?"
"Because Kol & I were firmly against raising Silas for it. Sometimes things are better off left buried."
"So now what?" Tiana asked, and for once I really didn't know.
The next thing I knew both of us were on our way back to Mystic Falls with two separate goals. Tiana wanted that cure and I wanted Silas to raise Kol.
