In the hallways...
"Z-Zoe?!"
Midoriya looked down at his long lost friend from Paris and felt tears coming up. He helped her up and ran in for a hug. She wasn't expecting that and hugged him back tightly. Once he was out of her arms, all he could was stare at her.
"H-How are you here?! I missed you so much!" Midoriya cried out.
"I missed you too," Zoe said back, "I've been wanting to reach out to you, but things got complicated. I'm just glad to see that you're..."
Then Zoe noticed something off about him, and he got confused. She got a closer look at him, which just brought back old feelings of him blushing around her. She pushed his hair out of the way and noticed that his eyes looked different.
He had green and purple eyes.
"Deku, what happened to your eyes? I hope that this wasn't because of Chrysalis," Zoe asked him, clearly worried about him, "I hope that you're still not running off to go after her."
"N-No! I-I'm not! I'm actually doing pretty well with hero training. I'm heading back to the dormitory right now," Midoriya said to her with a big smile, "You should come back with us! Chloe would be so surprised to see you!"
Midoriya tried to get her to join them, but she hesitated to go with him. Something about her seemed a little nervous to go with him. He could tell that something was bothering her, and he really was wondering how she even got here in the first place. She stood there quietly and full of nerves, which just made him even more confused.
"Zoe... What happened? How did you end up here?" Midoriya asked her.
Zoe rubbed her arm and was quiet for a while as she tried to come out and say it.
"I... I might've snuck through the portal..." Zoe explained to him.
Midoriya's eyes widened in shock, barely able to figure out how this could've happened. He never saw her while they were heading into the portal. Then again, he was taken away by Chrysalis and HawkMoth at the time. He wouldn't have noticed her sneaking into it.
"So... You've been here this entire time?!" Midoriya cried out, "Ever since we got back?!"
"No! Don't be ridiculous!" Zoe cried back, "I got here a few days ago. Someone from Support Class with pink hair was working on the portal and tested it. It looked like it was working, but it ended up malfunctioning. Me, Alya and the others have been waiting for someone or something to show up under the Eiffel Tower. Then a few days ago, a portal opened up. It wasn't that big, so only one of us could fit through it. Alya really wanted to go, but she decided to stay and look after the team."
Midoriya was shocked to hear this, but it made so much sense now. Everyone would've spotted someone coming through the portal that day when everyone came home. He felt bad for Marinette that her friend couldn't make it over to Japan. He grew curious if she brought anything with her, like a Miraculous.
"You didn't happen to bring anything with you, did you?" Midoriya asked her, "Like a Miraculous?"
"No... I didn't. I should've but it all happened so fast," Zoe explained to him, "But I did grab a couple of grimoires, books and recipes that Marinette wrote down. We all thought she might need those."
Midoriya's eyes widened in shock, seeing her carrying a schoolbag carrying all of those things. He couldn't believe it. Zoe had shown up when they needed her the most. He couldn't help but smile at her and hugged her again.
"I'm guessing that you really needed these," Zoe said to him.
"You have no idea. Thank you so much Zoe!" Midoriya said as he felt tears coming up, "Please come by and see everyone! I promise that everyone will be so happy to see you!"
Zoe still looked little nervous to go with him. He could tell that she was nervous to go with him because of Chloe. He didn't know where she was staying all this time, but he could tell that she was doing pretty well around here. She did look a little dirty from probably sneaking around, making sure that she doesn't get caught.
"Y-You... You really think that everyone will happy to see me? Even Chloe?" Zoe asked him, "I mean, things might be different between us now."
Midoriya knew right away that she was nervous about Chloe moving on from being friends with her. He smiled at her, really happy to see an old friend. He really needed this.
"Nothing's changed. If anything, she really misses you," Midoriya said to her with such gentle eyes, "She talks about you and really wishes that you were here with her. I really do think they would love to see you."
Zoe smiled back, feeling relieved to hear him say this. She took a deep breath in and out and grabbed Midoriya's hand. Before he could react to her touch, she pulled him over towards the front doors of the school.
"Then what're we waiting for? Let's go!" Zoe cried out as she ran with him.
Midoriya felt exhausted from hero training, but he didn't care. He smiled, feeling so good to have a friend here from Paris. They ran through the hallways, and Midoriya felt so good holding her hand. Something about it felt like he was still in Paris, having a good time with someone like her. His eyes sparkled, remembering how good it felt to go jogging with her. He knew that he had to get her to go jogging here, it was beautiful going jogging around here early in the morning.
They soon found their way out of the school, and Midoriya had to catch his breath. Zoe felt a little out of breath too and laughed at how amazing this felt.
"S-Sorry... I just... did some hero training... I am a little... tired..." Midoriya said to her as he tried to catch his breath.
"It's okay. I don't mind taking our time," Zoe said to him, "It's nice out here! I can't wait to go jogging with you!"
Midoriya smiled and felt the same way. Then he felt like he got something in his eye. For a moment, he felt something come over him. All of a sudden, he felt a headache hit him pretty hard and gripped his head. It hurt a little more than last time, but he felt something itching his eye.
"Deku, what's wrong?" Zoe asked him, "Is it Chrysalis?"
Midoriya didn't understand how she even knew what was going on. He definitely needed to talk to her about this soon. He tried to shake it off, but it took a little while for it to go away.
"I-It's nothing. I've been having headaches like this a lot lately," Midoriya explained to her as he stood up.
Midoriya could tell that she knew a little bit of what going on. She must've seen something or found out some stuff while staying here. They soon walked over to the dormitory, and Midoriya could tell that they had already gotten there and were settling down. He let out a sigh, knowing full well that Mr. Aizawa and Iida were going to lecture him for a long time.
As they made their way towards the dormitory, something about it made Zoe a little nervous. Midoriya looked at Class 1-A's dormitory, and then looked at Class 1-M's. He wanted to at least let her inside and let her freshen up before bringing her over to Class 1-M's. He smiled so much that he couldn't wait to see everyone's reactions to seeing someone from Paris.
"Zoe, are you ready?" Midoriya asked with a big smile.
She took a deep breath in and out and felt a little better.
"Y-Yeah... I am," Zoe said back with a nervous smile.
"Just... stay here," Midoriya said to her, "I'll let you in as a surprise. They're going to love this."
Midoriya smiled at her and went to open the door. He smiled and tried to keep calm since he might give it away. He opened the door and noticed Mr. Aizawa and Iida right away. They didn't look happy.
"Where have been? You were supposed to get here a half hour ago!" Iida cried out as he waved his arms up and down, "I know you needed some alone time, but this isn't what I meant!"
"Midoriya. I know that Chrysalis is locked up, but she still has akumas around," Mr. Aizawa said to him with a stern voice, "You can't just go wandering around like in Paris."
"I-I know that... but I have a really good reason for why I was running late," Midoriya said to them as everyone gathered around.
Sato and Yaoyorozu were making dinner, but noticed that Midoriya was in trouble again.
"This explanation better be good," Mr. Aizawa demanded as he activated his quirk.
Midoriya walked over to the front door with a wide smile, confusing everyone. He opened the door to let Zoe inside.
"Come on. They're here to see you," Midoriya said to her with a smile.
Everyone was confused as to what Midoriya was doing. Then Midoriya let someone in they hadn't seen in a long time. About half of them were shocked to see Zoe here in Japan. Even Mr. Aizawa wasn't expecting this.
"Zoe?!" Half of Class 1-A cried out in unison.
All of the classmates that went to Paris ran over to her and hugged her in a group hug. Even Bakugo was surprised to see her hear and got a little suspicious.
"H-How are you here?!" Uraraka cried out.
"I can't believe that you're here!" Kirishima cried out, "This is awesome!"
"Zoe! I missed you so much!" Ashido cried out as she hugged her tightly.
"Alright everyone! Give Zoe some space! I'm sure she'll explain herself if you give her some time to settle down," Iida said to them as he waved his arms up and down.
Zoe felt so much better once she entered the dormitory. She was surprised to see it so big and spacious as she settled down at one of the tables in the dining room. Midoriya sat with her so happy to see her here in their dormitory.
"Midoriya, how did find her?! You didn't go back to Paris through the portal, did you?" Ashido asked him with a glare.
"With you, it's definitely possible," Sato said to him as he got back to making dinner.
"W-Well... I kind of flipped her over by accident when she snuck up on me..." Midoriya explained as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Midoriya! You don't flip a stranger when they sneak up on you!" Iida cried out.
"It's okay... I should've known that he would do that," Zoe said back with a smile, "I just had to see him since it's been so long."
"B-But how did you get here?!" Uraraka asked, a little confused.
Midoriya and Zoe shared a look, and she explained everything to them. It didn't take long to go through it all, but she did add that Alya has been trying to lead their team ever since Ladybug and Cat Noir helped them get home. Without HawkMoth and Chrysalis, it's been a little less chaotic. There were no akumas, so they didn't have to do as much as they use to.
"This is crazy!" Sero cried out, "You went through the portal that brought our friends home!"
"And she's easy on the eyes too," Mineta said as he tried to get a better look at her.
Jirou jabbed him with her earphone jack, and Zoe noticed something off about her. Her eyes locked onto her earphone jack, and Jirou noticed. Zoe got up with sad eyes to see that one of her earphone jacks was missing.
"Kyouka... Your earphone jack..." Zoe said as she looked at it closer.
Jirou felt a little nervous as she got closer to it, but tried to brush it off. With everyone there, it made things a little more uncomfortable.
"Umm... Yeah. I kind of got it damaged by Chrysalis. It's a long story," Jirou explained as she tried to push it off.
Zoe looked sad to see part of her quirk gone. She backed off because she noticed that Jirou was uncomfortable talking about it. She sat back down, feeling a little thrown off by that.
"So... how long have you been here?" Uraraka asked her, trying to change the subject.
"Oh, only a few days. I kind of know what's going on just based on what everyone's talking about around here," Zoe explained to them, "I kind of saw Deku that night when he turned into a Moth. That totally freaked me out, and I had to hide so he wouldn't see me."
"Wa-Wait a minute, you saw that!" Midoriya cried out as a blush formed around his face.
"Yeah. You scared me so much! I had to hide in the bushes so you wouldn't see me," Zoe explained, "I even saw Katsuki take down Chrysalis and HawkMoth. That was so cool!"
Bakugo felt a slight blush form on his face, and he tried to brush it off like it was nothing.
"That was actually the day that I showed up. I saw Chrysalis flying over to the dormitory as soon as I got here. I followed her and didn't know what to do since I didn't have a Miraculous on me."
"Yeah, you really should've borrowed someone's Miraculous before coming here," Kirishima said to her.
"But I do have grimoires, books and recipes that Marinette wrote!" Zoe explained to them as she pulled out her school bag, "Deku said that he needed these! Good thing I brought these!"
"That means we can fix Izuku's Miraculous!" Uraraka cried out, "Zoe! You're the best!"
Mr. Aizawa then realized something and looked a little suspicious of her.
"So you were the one who was sneaking around U.A. and getting away from the teachers," Mr. Aizawa told her with a glare, "I wasn't involved, but I heard that you kept breaking into the staff room to look at some information."
Everyone looked at her, surprised that she would even do that. She looked a little flustered and nervous to even answer him.
"Y-Yes... That was me," Zoe said, a little upset, "I was just worried about Deku. I knew that Chrysalis had done something to him. I just wanted to try to help him out somehow. All I wanted to do was figure out what was going on with her, so I found out that she's locked up here along with HawkMoth. I'm sorry sir..."
Everyone looked at Mr. Aizawa, feeling a little worried for Zoe. She really looked like she just wanted to make sure everything was okay. Midoriya noticed this and stepped up for her.
"Mr. Aizawa. I know that Zoe isn't a classmate here, but she deserves to stay here until it's time for Marinette and her team to leave," Midoriya said to him with determination in his eyes, "She's helped us out so much in Paris. I think she deserves to at least stay in a dorm room in Class 1-M."
"Yeah! I agree with Midoriya! She's done a lot for us!" Kirishima said to him.
"Zoe's already a part of Ladybug's team! She should be able to stay!" Uraraka agreed.
Everyone started to agree with Midoriya, and Mr. Aizawa didn't know how he was going to say no to this. He let out a sigh and looked at Midoriya. He looked a lot better once Eri came over and now, Zoe showed up. He knew this was important to him, and especially Marinette and her team.
"Fine. Zoe, you can stay," Mr. Aizawa said to them.
Everyone cheered, and Midoriya felt Zoe hug him which made him blush a little. They were all so excited to finally have a friend from Paris here.
"But that doesn't mean that you get to go these classes. You haven't even gone through the entrance exam. So you'll just have to stay here until then," Mr. Aizawa explained to her.
"Entrance exam? Wow! Your school must be a lot bigger than I thought!" Zoe exclaimed.
"You have no idea," Midoriya said to her.
"You should all escort her over to Class 1-M after you have some dinner," Mr. Aizawa said to them, "We don't have much to give you when it comes to clothes, but I'm sure your team and friends will help you with that."
"Thank you sir! I really appreciate it for letting me stay!" Zoe said as she got up and bowed to him.
Mr. Aizawa was surprised by how formal she was being. The more he looked at her, the more he was surprised that he actually missed Paris himself. He walked up to her and ruffled up her hair and beanie.
"It's nice to see you again, Zoe."
Another amazing chapter!
Zoe's staying in U.A.! Yay! I love Zoe so much, and a character like her deserves more love! I always didn't mind her in the series, but I do think she needed to have more interactions and involvement with the others. She didn't have a lot of moments with Marinette and her team. There will be more explained as the story keeps going! I can't wait for Class 1-M to see her! Midoriya keeps getting headaches, we'll see what happens next.
More to come soon!
