Welcome back to Elemental Crisis Book III. Last time, Supergirl, Spyro, and Cynder got set up at the Tower, where Kara introduced the two dragons to the rest of her team, The Superfriends, revealing we're working with Brainiac 5, Sentinel, Dreamer, Guardian, Lena Luthor, and the odd addition of Winn Schott Jr, alias Toyman, coming back from the future just for this. With the team introduced, everybody settled in to work. So, what exactly does that entail? Read on to discover...
(Our story resumes at the Tower, where Brainiac 5 is connecting to a secure network, presumably that of the D.E.O. with the rest of the Superfriends and Spyro and Cynder in the room. Soon enough, the connection is complete and Brainiac 5 begins a video call)
Brainiac 5: That should do it. Just need to wait for J'onn to connect and we'll be on the way.
(And soon enough the other end of the call picks up, and Martian Manhunter is on the line, with the rest of the League milling about in the background)
Martian Manhunter: Am I coming through clearly?
Brainiac 5: Perfectly, Director J'onnz.
Supergirl: How're things coming along at the D.E.O.?
Martian Manhunter: Getting everything set up pretty smoothly. It took a little longer than expected to fireproof the training areas. (Glaring at Flash) No thanks to Barry.
Flash: (Knowing he's to blame for that) Sorry about that, by the way.
Spyro: Do I even want to know?
Flash: Probably not.
Cynder: Then how goes tracking that Elemental signature?
Martian Manhunter: It took a few minutes, but our tracking system is finally calibrated to this stuff. Keeping in mind we had to use both Barry and Ryan as examples and knowing full well that whichever Element we're tracking is undoubtedly different from Fire and Shadow)
Spyro: It might not be, in all honesty. Depending on which one it is. If it's Poison or Earth, you're probably good.
Batwoman: Really?
Cynder: Yeah, it's kind of uncanny. Earth and Shadow have some pretty similar mechanics, as do Fire and Poison. But anything else, and the residual energy from Spyro and myself that are still attached to them might just be enough to make it work.
Toyman: Wait a second, you guys somehow lost your Elements? Is that even possible?
Spyro: It is with Malefor powered up by the Anti-Monitor.
Toyman: (Literally taken aback at this) And this is what I get for staying in the future too long.
Supergirl: We'll get you caught up, Winn. (To Martian Manhunter) Let us know if anything comes through, J'onn.
Martian Manhunter: Will...
(But before Martian Manhunter can even finish that sentence, the tracking program he was using goes off)
Martian Manhunter: Looks like it's already paid off!
Sentinel: That was... surprisingly fast.
Martian Manhunter: And it looks like the Element we're tracking shares some connotations with Shadow.
Spyro: That answers that question. We've got the Element of Earth on our hands.
Martian Manhunter: (Noticing something) This must be a glitch.
Supergirl: What do you mean, J'onn?
Martian Manhunter: I'm getting a second signature. Linked to Spyro, but unlike anything we've encountered previously.
Spyro: Then either Electricity or Ice is here too, evidently.
Martian Manhunter: (Seeing something else) Are you serious? There's another one?!
Cynder: Another one? What are all three of Spyro's here?
Martian Manhunter: No, this one's linked to you, Cynder. But it's not like Fire.
Cynder: Then it's either Wind or Fear
Spyro: Well, this just got trickier.
Dreamer: Well, what do we do now?
Cynder: We'll need to split into teams and handle all three of them individually.
Spyro: I'll lead the team towards Earth. (To Flash) Barry, you head for my other match.
Flash: Can do.
Cynder: Meanwhile, I'll head for my match and we'll see what we uncover.
Supergirl: Good idea. Meet back at the D.E.O. when we do. Something tells me we're going to need the facilities ready by the time we get back.
Martian Manhunter: Agreed. D.E.O. signing out.
(And with that, the transmission ends.)
Spyro: Let's not waste a moment. The Dark Knights will be descending upon National City at any moment.
(And with that, everybody heads out to recover the three discovered Elements, as our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good place to end for today. So, there's not one, not two, but three Elements loose in National City. I bet a lot of people saw that coming, since Supergirl, Martian Manhunter, and Superman all originated from Supergirl as a series. And we're in the dark as to what half of them are. We know one is Earth, another has to be either Electricity or Ice, and the third is likely either Wind or Fear. But what are we dealing with exactly? Tune in next time to start finding out! Same time... same channel!
