Chapter 7: Aloha Alola!

This was the day.

The day that I would set out on my journey with my Pokémon by my side. A bittersweet wave of nostalgia washed over me. The quiet town, dense with memories, was where I had spent the last year, made friends, and discovered the world of Pokémon. I had spent countless hours exploring its many nooks and crannies, battling in the nearby fields, and dreaming of the day I would set out and start on my journey. Now, those dreams were finally within reach, even if it meant leaving behind the home I've grown to love.

I stood there, gazing down at Pallet Town, which lay below me like a picturesque painting—a scene infused with memories of laughter, warmth, and the occasional battle cry. My heart twisted; it was hard to say goodbye to Pellet Town and the friends I had made over the year. Yet, I promised myself I would return with the strength of an elite, filled with tales of adventure and new friendships.

Beside me, my Pokémon stood—Merlin, Lee, and Poseidon—ready, their spirits as high as mine.

"Alright, guys! Take a good long look; it'll be quite a while before we are here again," I declared, spreading my arms as if to embrace the entire town.

"Primeape?" Lee tilted his head, concern evident in his eyes.

"Merlin," I said, my gaze shifting toward the Kadabra floating beside me. "Lee is wondering when we'll return?"

Merlin, with his curious golden eyes, replied, "Indeed. He seeks assurance, oh trainer. Understandably so."

I knelt to eye level with Lee, whose fists were balled tightly as he leaned forward. "Well, it will probably take a couple of years to find our family, gather all sorts of training, and collect various items before we take on the Leagues," I said, trying to maintain my bravado.

"Gyarados," Poseidon echoed, his deep, rumbling voice resonating like distant thunder. The King of the Sea was always ready for a challenge.

Merlin turned his attention to Poseidon with a sigh, "He desires to know if there will be many strong foes during our travels."

"Yes, Poseidon," I affirmed, excitement bubbling inside me. "There will be many strong trainers and challenging Pokémon out there. We will seek them out and conquer!"

"Gyarados!" Poseidon let out a triumphant roar, his voice echoing across the clear skies and scaring a couple of Pidgey's from a nearby tree branch. I couldn't help but chuckle at how used we all were to this display of enthusiasm from him. The townsfolk of Pallet had grown accustomed to my loyal Gyarados over the years. Quite a few children even begged to ride him, despite the initial fears of being devoured by a creature often viewed as a sea monster. With a chuckle, I thought, they'd learn soon enough that behind Poseidon's ferocity was a heart as soft as a Butterfree's wings.

"Alright, team, let's take one last look," I said, breathing in the familiar scents of my home—the mix of grass, flowers, and the distant whiffs of Oak's laboratory. "In a second, I'm going to recall you both," I added, glancing at Poseidon and Lee, "because we've got a boat to catch."

With a final look at the quiet town, I recalled Lee and Poseidon back into their Poké Balls, feeling a sense of loss but also an adventure pulse through my veins.

"Merlin, I want you to teleport us to the Cerulean City port," I instructed, looking up at my Kadabra.

"Where are we headed, trainer? You have kept that pretty close to your chest," Merlin arbitrated, his eyebrow arched in inquisitiveness.

I grinned, "We are headed to the region of the Sun and Moon! The tropical paradise of Alola!" My voice couldn't hide the excitement coursing through me. "It's newly opened for special Kanto representatives."

Merlin's expression shifted to one of surprise. "Are we going for a vacation?"

I twitched, shaking my head at the absurdity. "Vacation? No, Merlin. We're going to catch some new team members and harness the power of Z-moves. This isn't a holiday!"

Merlin let out a dramatic sigh, and I nearly burst into laughter at his theatrics. "Just get started," I said, a smile tugging at my lips.

After a flash of light, we found ourselves standing at the bustling Cerulean City Port. The air was charged with energy, and the sounds of waves crashing against the docks filled my ears.

[Time Skip: The Ship S.S. Ariel]

Getting onboard the S.S. Ariel was no easy feat. The crew wanted to verify that I was genuinely affiliated with Professor Oak. I had prepared myself for this, knowing full well that my connection would grant me passage.

As I finally stepped onto the ship, a wave of excitement washed over me. The world beyond Pallet Town awaited, vast and full of mysteries.

The voyage would take about a week, and though we were only two days in, it felt like an eternity. The ship rocked gently as it sliced through the waves, and I couldn't help but gaze at the ocean.

"Alright crew, gather 'round!" shouted Captain Hayward, a robust man with graying hair and a commanding voice. "We've got a long journey ahead of us!"

Merlin floated at my side, his eyes scanning the deck with curiosity. "Trainer, this ship appears to be well-equipped. Why did they choose the sea route, though?"

"Unfortunately, while relations have opened between Kanto and Alola, commercial flights are still in the planning stages and won't be available for another couple of years," I explained, my own voice tinged with disappointment. "So, the only way to Alola for us Kanto trainers is by boat."

Captain Hayward continued with his speech, "Only approved personnel are allowed to enter Alola. And thanks to your relationship with Professor Oak, you'll be among the first to be able to catch and keep Alolan Pokémon."

"Thanks to my title as his lab assistant!" I said, feeling a sense of responsibility wash over me. Knowing I carried that honor put a bit of weight on my shoulders.

"The current trip is fairly routine," Captain Hayward added. "That said, we are venturing through some uncharted waters. Historically, sea routes between regions have presented hazards, so we must all stay vigilant."

"That's right," I said, glancing around at the crew. "Wild Pokémon can pose a significant threat out here, especially schools of aggressive Gyarados or Sharpedo. The risks are genuine."

"Let's hope we don't encounter a pod of Wailord," Merlin interjected, his tone light but his meaning clear. "That would likely sink the ship without them even noticing."

I chuckled. "Now there's a positive thought! Sharpedos and Gyarados are enough, thank you."

To reassure everyone onboard, I released Poseidon. When the enormous Gyarados emerged from his Poké Ball, half the crew nearly dropped their tools in panic. Gasps erupted, and wide eyes stared at the majestic sea serpent, who looked disinterested in the fuss as he swayed lazily in the air.

"Relax! Everyone, he's with me!" I shouted, my voice competing against the sounds of the ocean. "Poseidon is a gentle giant. He wouldn't hurt anyone unless provoked. Right, big guy?"

"Gyarados," he responded, a soft rumble escaping his throat that somehow calmed the crew.

Captain Hayward, clutching a clipboard, let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. "Well, that certainly eases my mind. In the face of danger from wild Pokémon, it's good to have a fierce force like him on our side."

I smiled, knowing Poseidon was ready for anything. As we set sail into the blue, I caught sight of a few Skarmory soaring high above. I pointed them out to Merlin, who looked on with interest, eager to catalog any new information.

"Did you see that flying Pokémon?" Merlin asked, flicking his gaze from the sky to the shimmering sea. "Fascinating. Will we—"

"On deck!" Captain Hayward shouted, pulling everyone's attention back. "We may have a situation on our hands. I need all hands prepared for a possible encounter!"

The ship settled into an air of readiness as the crew scrambled to their stations, nerves running slightly high. This was it—the risk that came with leaving the confines of familiar territory. I looked down at Merlin, Lee, and Poseidon, their expressions reflecting a mix of excitement and determination.

[Time Skip]

The first part of the journey proved uneventful, the waves carrying us steadily toward our destination. I took this time to bond with my Pokémon, running through training exercises on deck.

Merlin sent his psychic powers through small rocks, moving them with precision. Poseidon practiced swimming around the ship, testing his agility and speed; rows of sea foam erupted around him as he sliced through the water effortlessly. Lee got in some light sparring, testing his stamina against various crew members who were eager to match him.

Days blended into a routine that included training, exploring, and even bonding with some of the ship's crew. As I shared stories about my adventures in Kanto, they regaled me with tales of wild Pokémon encounters and heart-pounding moments at sea. I could see the admiration in the crew's eyes when I introduced my team. They viewed my Pokémon as legends, partly due to their connection to Professor Oak.

The remaining days felt both exhilarating and torturous, each moment inching me closer to Alola. I counted down the hours, anticipation coursing through my veins.

"Land Ho!" a crew member shouted two days later, pulling me from my thoughts and bringing excitement crashing back like the waves against the ship.

Eagerly, I rushed out onto the deck, the salty breeze whipping through my hair. My heart pounded as I squinted against the sun, focusing on the horizon where a cluster of green islands loomed closer by the second.

"Look, team" I pointed to the islands; the vivid colors brighter than I had imagined. "That's Alola!"

"Gyarados!" Poseidon roared, thrashing his tail eagerly, causing splashes of ocean water to dance around us.

"Yes, Poseidon! We're finally here!"

Thank goodness, I was about to go crazy…

[Meeting Samson Oak]

As the ship nestled gently against the dock, a feeling of elation washed over me, fluid and warm, akin to the sunlight flooding the vibrant shores of Alola. Stepping onto the weathered wooden planks of the pier, I inhaled deeply, filling my lungs with the salty air mixed with the sweet fragrance of blooming tropical flowers. The atmosphere struck me with the kind of intensity you could only experience in a place that felt alive—a joyful symphony of nature, laughter, and the lively hum of bustling trainers and Pokémon alike.

After breezing through the customs checks, I was finally granted access to this sun-kissed paradise. Eagerly stepping onto the sun-soaked dock, I was met with a captivating scene: trainers huddled together, exchanging stories and strategies, while spirited Pokémon frolicked energetically in the gentle surf, their delightful calls mingling harmoniously with the soft sound of waves lapping on the shore. It was as if the entire island exhaled its joy, wrapping around me like a warm embrace, and I couldn't help but smile.

"Alright! Next stop—the lab of Samson Oak!" I proclaimed gleefully to my team, excitement bubbling within me like a boiling pot. My Gyarados rested peacefully in his Poké Ball, secure for the moment, while Merlin floated effortlessly beside me, his serene demeanor somehow amplifying my enthusiasm.

The path leading away from the dock opened up before us, transitioning into a winding road bordered by lush greenery and soft, white-sand beaches that beckoned enticingly. As we walked, I found it hard to curb my awe at the sheer beauty surrounding me. The brilliant turquoise of the ocean sparkled enticingly under the warm sun, waves intermittently crashing onto the shore in a gentle embrace. Palm trees swayed lightly in the breeze, casting playful shadows that danced across our path. It almost felt unreal, like stepping onto a postcard come to life, vibrant and vivid in ways I'd only dreamt of while reading about Alola back in Kanto.

As we made our way toward Professor Samson Oak's lab, the excitement in the air intensified. I could feel it radiating off the very buildings surrounding me, saturated with a sense of potential. When we reached the lab, I was hit by a wave of warmth and camaraderie; trainers and Pokémon bustled about, engaged in earnest discussions and cheerful experimentation. The interior was bright and welcoming, adorned with colorful artwork depicting legendary Pokémon alongside images of trainers engaged in their own adventures.

"Welcome, welcome!" The booming voice echoed against the walls, and I turned to see a robust figure stride forward, his smile bursting with enthusiasm. "You must be the new trainer from Kanto! I'm Samson Oak, but you can just call me Sam."

"Thank you, Professor Oak!" I replied, shaking his hand with a firm grip, drawing strength from his genuine warmth. "It's an honor to be here."

"The honor is mine!" he said, his eyes glinting with joy. "My cousin has told me so much about you. I'm so happy to see a new trainer eager to explore our beautiful islands."

"Yes! I'm fully ready to dive into everything Alola has to offer, especially the island trials and Z-moves!" I exclaimed, my heart racing at the thought of the adventures ahead.

"Island trials are a unique tradition here," he began, a spark of excitement creeping into his voice. "They're designed not just to test your capabilities but to fortify the bond between you and your Pokémon. It's about problem-solving and creativity—showcasing your adaptability more than just your strength."

I found myself captivated by his words, envisioning the elegant dance of strategy and intuition required to navigate each trial. How exhilarating it would be to tackle challenges alongside my Pokémon, relying on our trust and connection to see us through.

"And Z-moves?" I couldn't resist asking,

"Ah, Z-moves! These special attacks can only be unleashed with a Z-Crystal, and when your Pokémon has mastered its specific Z-move, they unleash astonishing power," he explained, passion radiating from him. "However, such power must be wielded wisely; it requires not just strength but timing and synchronization."

I nodded, my mind racing with possibilities. "That sounds incredible. I can't wait to learn how to harness that power."

"And legendary Pokémon…'

"For many, they are more than myths; they embody the very essence of Alola itself," he said, a slightly serious tone settling in. "Each island possesses its own legends that influence everything around them. Their spirits guide trainers and Pokémon toward their destinies."

Listening intently, I felt the wonder of these stories entwine with my dreams of adventure. The legends weren't just tales—they were woven into the fabric of Alolan life, rich with history and culture. These Pokémon were some of the scans that I would need to compete my mission.

[Scene Change]

Later that day, as the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting a warm golden hue over the throbbing landscape, I gathered my team under the generous shade provided by a large palm tree near the lab. The gentle sway of leaves overhead paired perfectly with the soft sound of waves in the distance, creating a tranquil atmosphere perfect for brainstorming our plans.

"Alright, team! We need to lay out our training plans," I started, excitement lacing my voice. Each member of my team seemed to share a spark of anticipation, ready to embark on this journey together.

"Primeape!" Lee shouted, his enthusiasm bubbling forth as he danced in place, fists raised high into the air. Every burst of energy from him felt electric, drawing smiles from the others around. The pig Pokémon really did take after Lee from Naruto.

Poseidon remained securely tucked within his Poké Ball, though I could feel his impressive presence emanating through the sphere. Merlin floated beside me, a constant source of calm amidst the playful frenzy of energy radiating from Lee.

"I believe analysis and strategy will be crucial," Merlin spoke up quietly, his demeanor anchoring our collective excitement. "In preparation for the trials, we must evaluate our strengths and weaknesses. Z-moves will be formidable, but they demand thoughtful execution."

Such a nerd...,

"That's true," I agreed, my mind whipping around possibilities for the types of techniques and moves that be possible thanks to the power-up. "And we need to familiarize ourselves with our Z-Crystals. I've heard murmurs of a special Z-Crystal in Alola that could enhance our Pokémon tremendously."

Apparently, there is a local legend about a special Z-Crystal outside the 18 type crystals that was said to give ultra special moves that were the stuff of legends themselves.

"Mmmm," Merlin mused, tapping his fingers together thoughtfully. "My psychic abilities could be honed to increase our utilities. Perhaps we should also train our synergy to ensure that we can coordinate our attacks seamlessly."

"That would be the goal and take out mental-link training even further and prepare us for mega-evolution" I replied, excitement surging through me once more. "Having versatility will be vital against other trainers and unique challenges that may arise during our trials."

"Primeape!" Lee declared again, practically bouncing with energy and eager for action.

"We should start with practice battles," I suggested, adrenaline igniting my enthusiasm again. "Facing wilder Pokémon will help us refine our coordination and boost our finesse, which will be crucial for tackling the trials."

As we discussed training strategies, the sun began its descent, transforming the sky into a canvas painted in brilliant oranges and soft purples. The beauty of the moment embraced us like a warm blanket, filling me with a sense of contentment and connection to the world around us.

"We could venture down to the shoreline," I proposed, glancing toward the inviting expanse of sand and sea. "There might be wild Pokémon we can engage with, and it could provide real-time experience."

"An ok idea" Merlin agreed, his sarcasm palpable. "Engaging wild Pokémon in their natural habitat will give our skills the practical application needed before the trials."

The allure of the sea was undeniable, and as twilight descended, painted hues of the evening sky reflected across the still waters, I felt a stirring within me. We made our way down to the beach, the soft sand tickling my feet as I laughed and dashed alongside my team. The joyous energy of Alola pulsed around us, and every step down to the water felt like a step into freedom—a chance to embrace whatever lay ahead.

Reaching the shoreline, we found a small patch of sand and set up a temporary camp, eager to spend our first night under the stars. I took a moment to appreciate the tranquil beauty and intricacies of the night sky above—the stars shimmered brightly, each pinprick of light offering a glimpse into the infinite wonder of the universe.

Settling down with my team, I started to unpack some simple supplies. The warm scent of roasting marshmallows filled the air, and as I toasted one over the gentle flickering flames of our campfire, I marveled at how far I had come—how extraordinary it felt to be here, in Alola, among new friends and Pokémon.

"Here you go," I said, handing a perfectly toasted marshmallow to Lee, who eagerly devoured it with delight. The spirit of camaraderie enveloped us as we shared stories and laughter late into the evening, every chuckle resonating with joy against the backdrop of soft waves crashing nearby.

"Merlin, any sense of urgency out there?" I teased lightly as he floated nearby, enjoying the soothing ambiance.

"Not at all," he replied, his tone steady and dry... "For now, it seems that the moment is peaceful. But I suggest we remain aware—it's always wise to respect the magic of unpredictability in a place as vibrant as Alola."

As the fire crackled and the stars twinkled above, I felt gratitude welling up inside me for this moment—happy to be here, and happy to have a team that felt as close as family. As the gentle breeze rustled through the palms, it reminded me of the warm embrace of friendship that enveloped us all. A real Pokémon journey and I was starting it in one of my favorite regions.

The fullness of the stars mirrored the richness of our connections, and I found myself drifting toward introspection. Amongst those twinkling lights, there lay the echoes of every trainer who had come before me, each seeking their own adventures, facing challenges, and learning from the land. I could feel the spirit of Alola entwined with my dreams, carrying the messages of hope, discovery, and connection.

The next morning broke like a masterpiece, the sun peeking over the horizon to sprinkle its golden rays across the landscape. I opened my eyes, feeling rejuvenated from a night spent in the comforting company of my team. The air felt fresh and filled with possibilities, the peaceful sound of waves setting the perfect soundtrack for our next adventure.

"Good morning, everyone" I greeted; my voice infused with a sense of tiredness, I was not a morning person.

"Primeape!" Lee chirped, already bouncing around the sand with too much boundless energy for this early in the morning.

Poseidon rumbled softly within his Poké Ball, almost as if he, too, was eager for the day ahead. Merlin floated nearby, his calm expression seeming to soak up the beauty of the dawning day.

"Let's have a quick breakfast before we get started," I suggested, already planning out the day's training session in my mind. My heart thumped with excitement at the possibilities that lay ahead.

As we shared our meal, laughter filled the air once more, echoing the genuine camaraderie that had blossomed between us. After breakfast, we gathered our gear and headed toward the gently rolling waves, a sense of eagerness propelling us forward.

"Let's focus on training today" I declared with renewed vigor. "I want to push our abilities, refine our techniques, and prepare for future challenges."

With the sun lighting our path and a soft breeze guiding us along the shore, we began our training regimen anew, every exercise underlined by drive and determination. My heart swelled with pride as I witnessed our growth, we would be the very best.

We practiced for hours on end, refining our techniques and honing our strategies, punctuated by laughter and a few friendly competitive sparks that emerged between us. Each successful maneuver, every synchronized move, felt like a step toward something greater, a small yet significant realization that we were forging unbreakable bonds grounded in trust.

The joy of training and the sheer happiness of being in the present moment engulfed me, filling my heart with light as we splashed through the waves and bumped into the shores of camaraderie. As the sun climbed higher into the sky, the day transitioned into a joyful whirl, and I began to understand that our path was not just about reaching specific goals but celebrating every moment spent together as a team.

[Time Skip: Two Days Later]

As the sun rose over the idyllic Alolan coast, the vibrant colors of the landscape burst into life, casting a warm glow over everything. Lush greenery bordered the sandy beach, while gentle waves shimmered under the piercing blue sky, beckoning me closer. Today was the day I would finally focus on capturing not just any Pokémon, but a rare Feebas—a water-type Pokémon whose beauty and potential deeply intrigued me.

"Guys, let's head to the fishing spots!" I called, spurring my friends into action. My excitement surged as the thought of adding a new team member danced in my mind. The vibrant sights and sounds of Alola surrounded us, evoking a spirit of adventure that felt electric. There were some rare pools that were fed by waterfalls that were said to have some possibilities of having Feebas. Locally the Pokémon was seen as useless and not worth catching due to its rarity. Thinking back about what I learned about the Feebas-line that most people didn't even realize they could be evolved into Milotic and largely ignored the Pokémon completely as you can see in the entry.

"Primeape?!" Lee exclaimed, bouncing on his feet with palpable anticipation. His enthusiasm was infectious.

"Let's fish for one. They inhabit calm waters, right?" I replied, leading the charge toward the beach. The call of the ocean was becoming impossible to ignore.

Under the sun high in the sky, my heart raced with every step. The rhythm of the waves rolled in harmony with my excitement. "Okay, team!" I instructed, fishing rods at the ready. "Catching a Feebas calls for patience and strategy."

"Primeape!" Lee shouted as he took his place next to me, his eagerness mirrored in his Pokémon's energy.

"I sense nearby water Pokémon, but I will need focus," Merlin said, his eyes shimmering as he tuned into the surrounding energy. Lee and I laughed together, buoyed by the anticipation.

With a swift motion, I cast my line into the water, adrenaline coursing through me as I anticipated the thrilling tension of a catch. The calm ocean glimmered enticingly as we entered a moment of quiet contemplation.

As time passed, the gentle waves lapping against the shore became a soothing backdrop, giving me space to bond deeper with my Pokémon. "You guys know this is just the beginning, right?" I said, gazing at each of them. "We're going to face challenges that will test us in ways we can't even imagine."

"Gyarados," Poseidon replied, his deep voice resonating with reassuring strength.

"Your strength will be invaluable on this journey; we're lucky to have you with us," I said, smiling warmly at my powerful partner.

What felt like eternity drifted by until, finally, my fishing line tugged with an intensity that sent thrills down my spine. "I got something!" I shouted, reeling it in with all my might.

"Primeape!" Lee jumped excitedly, clenching his fists.

With determination, I pulled the fishing line, bracing myself against the sudden strain. A splash erupted as I successfully reeled in my catch, and the water parted to reveal a dazzling sight. The aquatic Pokémon emerged, gracefully flipping onto the shore—a Feebas!

As its uniquely patterned body caught the sunlight, vibrant colors shimmered like a living jewel. I didn't know how anyone could call this Pokémon ugly with the sheer potential that this line held. Some would ask would I bother with the line when I had a King Gyarados…and the simple answer is because I wanted one. That's it, I wanted one and I would have one.

My heart pounded with excitement. "Here it comes! It's a Feebas!"

"Primeape!" Lee yelled, ecstatic, his excitement infectious.

The Feebas flopped around awkwardly, its shimmering scales glistening in the light. I could see the beauty every trainer spoke of; it sparkled with potential. "Alright! Let's see what you can do!"

Without hesitation, I positioned my Poké Ball, feeling a surge of determination wash over me. "Alright! I choose you!" I threw the Poké Ball at Feebas, my heart pounding in rhythm with the splash.

The Poké Ball shook momentarily before settling with a satisfying click. "Yes! I caught a Feebas!" I shouted, jubilant adrenaline rushing through my veins as I retrieved the Poké Ball from the water. Pulling my Arc Phone out that scanned my new Pokémon.

[Pokémon detected!]

[Feebas: The Fish Pokémon]

[This Feebas knows the moves: Splash, Flail, and Tackle. Egg Move: Confuse Ray]

[Ability: Oblivious. Hidden Ability: Adaptability.]

[Mission Update: Pokémon Found 70/?]

"Merlin, can you sense any power from our new friend?" I asked, a wave of curiosity washing over me as I held the Poké Ball tightly.

His gaze focused intently. "This Pokémon may yet reveal its strength, but it warrants training to evolve. You see the unique beauty within it; nurturing its abilities will be essential."

"Alright, let's meet our new family member," I said, my enthusiasm bubbling over as I hugged the Poké Ball close to my heart.

With a burst of light, I released the Feebas onto the sand. It flopped out unsteadily, glimmering like a pearl, and I couldn't help but feel excitement for what this Pokémon would bring to our team. "Welcome, little one!" I exclaimed, looking into its curious eyes. "I think I'll name you 'Pearl'—since you shine as bright as one!"

"Feebas!" Pearl chirped, glancing around, taking in her new surroundings.

"Welcome to the team, Pearl!"

"Primeape!" Lee cheered, his competitive spirit at the forefront.

I looked at Pearl with determination. "You're going to be amazing, Pearl! Let's train hard together!"

[Time Skip]

With Pearl now a part of our family, the thrill of our adventure blossomed, and I felt an unwavering energy surrounding us, backed by the beauty of the beach and the ocean. The sun dipped lower in the sky, casting golden hues that enveloped us—a perfect backdrop for training.

"Alright, team! It's time to train!" I called out, rallying everyone. "Let's work on our moves. Pearl, you can start by practicing Splash!"

Pearl floundered onto the sand, her movement both clumsy and endearing. Water droplets flew as she splashed around, sparkling like tiny diamonds in the setting sun.

"Good job, Pearl! Keep it up!" I encouraged, laughter bubbling at her antics.

"Gyarados!" Poseidon, his massive tail creating a splash of water as he twirled in a playful display of encouragement.

"Now, let's focus on getting some practice rounds in," I decided, glancing around to spot other trainers nearby. A friendly spar could provide the perfect opportunity for Pearl to showcase her skills.

"Look over there!" Lee called, pointing toward another trainer a short distance away. "They just finished a battle! We can ask to spar!"

With excitement, we approached the trainer, who welcomed us with a smile. "Hey there! Looking to battle? I'm always up for a friendly match!"

Hmm thing about it for a moment, "Yes I'd love to practice with my new Feebas, Pearl" I replied,

"Alright! Let's see what the two of you can do!" the trainer said, releasing his Pokémon.

"Pearl, you're up!" I said, ready to put her training into motion.

"Feebas!" Pearl responded with a determined wiggle; her eyes gleaming with excitement.

"Spritz, use Water Gun!" the trainer called, a splash of water erupting from his Pokémon towards Pearl.

"Dodge it, Pearl!" I instructed quickly, my heart racing.

Pearl wobbled back, but her instincts kicked in, allowing her to escape the brunt of the Water Gun. "That's it! Now let's counter with Tackle!"

With newfound confidence, Pearl propelled herself into action, tackling Spritz with all her might, sending both Pokémon tumbling in a splash.

"Nice move! Now use Aqua Jet!" the trainer commanded a flick of water swirling around his Mareanie.

"Pearl, keep moving! You've got this." I spoke, encouraging her to stay nimble and agile.

"Use Tackle again!" My Feebas lunched herself at the Mareanie and landed a hard hit.

After a series of exhilarating exchanges, I could see the persistence and determination glowing in Pearl's eyes. She proved to be a quick learner and demonstrated improvement with every move.

"That's enough." The Mareanie trainer said as he withdrew his Pokémon, 'Spritz is pretty tired and I don't want to have him knocked, got plans to challenge my friend latter"

"No worries" I said with a slight nod. It was good that he showed such care for his Pokémon.

"Excellent job, Pearl." I praised as the battle concluded. "You did so well—just wait till you evolve!"

The trainer smiled, reaching down to give Spritz a pat. "Your Feebas is fantastic! With this much hard work, I didn't realize that Feebas could be that good!"

She did do really good for a newly caught Pokémon, but I had a feeling that he was she going be added to the list of try-hard Pokémon that I ended up catching…

"Let's take a break and reward Pearl for her hard work!" I suggested once we bid the friendly trainer farewell.

After the adrenaline-fueled battle, we walked back toward the marketplace, eager to explore and acquire the Berries and Poké Puffs I had heard so much about. Filled with colorful stalls and bustling activity, the market was alive with energy. Everywhere I looked, trainers exchanged stories, and Pokémon displayed their unique abilities.

At one stall, a cheerful vendor waved. "Welcome! Who wants to try the freshest Poké Puffs around?"

"Primeape!" Lee shouted, bouncing on his feet.

Looking down at my Pokémon I sighed, they had me wrapped around their fingers, "Let's take a dozen Berry Puffs, please!" I requested,

As the vendor packed up the colorful pastries, I could hardly contain my excitement. "You all did amazing work today," I said, glancing down. Pearl peered up at me,

Looking down at Pearl I said, "With a little love and care, we're going to help you evolve!"

With all our delicious rewards in tow, we ambled back toward our favorite training spot on the beach. Pearl flopped excitedly, her cheerful demeanor filling the air with joy. Each step we took felt like a celebration of our accomplishments together.

With the sun lowering on the horizon, illuminating our surroundings in a golden hue, I took a moment to appreciate this tranquil, beautiful place. Alola had become a second home to me, filled with adventure and love, and my heart swelled with gratitude for my team.

The beauty of Pearl now shone brighter than ever as she savored her well-earned treats. This was more than an exploration; it was a journey of connection, strength, and transformation—one that would bind us together forever.

Pearl swayed playfully, her spirit lifting not only my hopes but those of everyone around us. And as I looked into her glimmering eyes, I knew that a beautiful chapter awaited us just beyond the horizon. Together, we would embrace every challenge and triumph that lay ahead, forging a bond that would only grow stronger in the dazzling world of Alola.

A.N: And that wrap on chapter one of the Alola Arc. There will be three major sections to this story: One, The Training Arc-this is all the traveling the MC will do and gathering his team and the various plotlines involved in this. Two, The League Arc-This arc will see the MC challenge the region leagues and gyms plus the random plot…(Read Joker smile). And Three, The End Game Arc-This Arc will see the wrapping up of the story and leave the possibility of spin offs if there is enough interest by that point.

I plan on making this story go for a long time and heck of ton of words, at least a hundred chapters are plans and have rough outlines. Of course, as I write I will probably add more or less depending on the mood and interest in the end but believe I am one of the people who hate when an author doesn't finish or just leaves off their work…

If you guys have any ideas on any Pokémon that you think the MC should catch the list is not finalized by any means quite yet. Or if there is any plotlines you think would make for a great addition to the story.

And has always I would love to hear any comments or reviews!

On to Reviews:

MisterMisplay: The MC does have a lot of experience in the later Gens and he not going to know that, but he will find that in a funny way soon enough…Thanks for the review.

.upg: Thanks for the review! I'm glad that I'm keeping your attention.

Sammy12346: Thanks for the review! This story has been one I've wanted to write for the last couple years but didn't think I could actually write in a way that anyone would wan to read…That being said, I hope that story and my writing live up to that potential.
