Epilogue
From the moment Wendy had awoken from that bright light. Something had changed and everyone knew it. An uncomfortable silence seemed to linger as a quiet chaos formed. There was no more chaos, no riots, just rubble, confusion and a sense of duty. Wendy helped out where she could, which was mostly helping those who had been injured. When the entire town was teleported to wherever they were. It had been quite a violent affair and damage was everywhere. Every person who was a descendant of the Black Fox clan was teleported together. The entire clan meeting had been postponed as the clan had to deal with far bigger problems. Wendy did everything she could to help those who were injured in the sudden jump. Whoever pulled this off had been planning it for quite some time. Wendy carefully took the bandage and cut it off with her teeth to the little girl who laid back into the bed.
With that she left the room. Medicine was one of the few ways she could help as none of the dark guild members had been found. Let alone any of the non-Timmeti. It was hard the last couple days even though the town had been teleported. A lot of the stuff necessary for modern living was missing and would need to be installed. Moving back Wendy walked into the main building. Even if damaged, the Clan hall was still intact even though heavily damaged. Wood from the surrounding forest was cut to make way to repair and keep it from falling apart. Wendy walked into where Clan Master Akizou was sitting in a small chair overlooking a bunch of paperwork. Wendy had finished the last of the chores she could feasibly do. As the more professional we're dealing with the problem.
"Tell me Wendy, do you have a boyfriend? Or some adaptive family taking care of you? Or anyone to look forward to when you go back home from wherever you came from." Akizou asked.
"I have a guild," Wendy said. "And I've never had a boyfriend or dated anyone. And I guess a few guildmates would count as the closest things to a family. They'd be worried about me right now."
Akizou nodded her head and put down the paperwork, "Well I'm going to tell you to get comfortable. You're going to be here for a long time. Perhaps the rest of your life. We found across the town dozens of hidden one-time use teleportation lacrimas. This was planned from the get-go. By who and why I do not know, but I do know you have something to do with this. No I am not accusing you of participation in this…whatever just happened. Whoever did this has been planning this for a long time. You are not capable of planning something this…complex. But I believe you returning to the clan and all the problems the clan has been having recently are linked. I can't prove it, but that's my hunch. Whoever pulled this off planned this for months and outwitted every oversight and protection we had placed together. And in a single moment of weakness they struck."
"Oh," Wendy said. All she remembered was the bright light and the following silence.
"But that is in the past and there is nothing much we can do. We have far bigger problems than that. Whoever teleported the city didn't include the basic fundamentals like a garbage disposal system, the water pipes that go underneath the city or a waste-management system. We also don't have any supply lines or ability to acquire necessary equipment, tools or materials. The next couple years are going to be hell. We have 5 years of provisions on hand, but I assure you those are going to go faster than you think." Akizou said. "It's going to take everyone including you to pull through if we are to survive. I feel that this town will never be transported back to where it belongs. I am going to die in this place every bone in my body is telling me that."
Akizou took a deep breath, "My point being is that it's going to be years, maybe a decade or more before you see your friends again. Without any way of getting new supplies and the potential for any unknown or random threat in this location. We have to prioritize our resources. So building up a garbage disposal system, waste management and bringing back running water is the primary focus. Everyone has to be diligent and contribute and ingenuity will be the name of the game. Only once those necessities are taken care of can we focus on the other things like building a peer, establishing farms and more. I hope you have a thick skin because you're going to need it. I would say if everything goes well, 5 years at the minimum before we can return to Fiore, but very likely it's going to take longer."
"5 years?" Wendy asked.
"Child. It will take a year just to restore basic city services and the port alone will take a year or two to build. Then you have to build the boat and that alone can take months or years based on various factors. The boat would have to be manned and have provision provided. Then it has to go into open water and navigate in unfamiliar waters that we have never navigated before. 5 years is a guesstimate if everything goes well it's most likely going to be a decade…
Standing in the silence overlooking the damaged city of Marvell Springs. It was supring calm for a city that had just been teleported to an unknown location. Hidden in the Fiorian freelands is an area that was roughly 2.3 million km2. Something that crown had won in a long forgotten war that no one cared about. Soon the people of the Black Fox clan would spread out across the landmass and rebuild. The Ghost stood there silently looking into a small orb that was overseeing Wendy Marvell who was talking with the clan master. "Welcome home Wendy Marvell. Welcome home…" Even if she was young he would wait. As he had done for so many years till the time was right for the final length of her training to begin. For she was the only other dragon slayer in the world. Something too precious to let her strength go idle…
