I guess i'm not gonna take a while to update this story after all. I'm enjoying writing this at the moment. And I really want to get on to the best parts of this story so I need to power through four chapters to get to Camp Jupiter. But for now, on with the chapter.

Chapter 16

(Percy)

Seeing Apollo and his mum share a moment like that, it was... nice. But also really difficult. Percy was still feeling alone, still feeling like he has no place. But then after hugging his mum he finally realised, that maybe he did have a family. Maybe he could start to feel at home.

"Mum we need to talk..."

Artemis released him from the bear hug and looked him the eyes.

"Talk to me Percy, what is it?"

He sighed and sat at the end of Thalia's medical table.

"The gorgons mentioned something... Something about 'her awakening', it looks like another storm is coming. One that means i'm not going to rest."

Artemis went pale.

Really pale...

"Mum what is it? Do you know what it is? Is it bad?"

Artemis turned away, but nodded ever so slightly.

"If this is what I think this is, then we're in danger. All of Olympus is in danger."

Percy stood eerily still.

"Can you tell me what it is?"

Artemis shook her head.

"I wish I could, but I have to think on this matter more. There is no point in worrying you about it when this is most likely not the case."

Percy looked like he wanted to say more, but in the end he nodded,

"I understand mum, just let me know what is going on when you can."

Artemis forced a smile on her face before turning away once again.

"Thank you Percy, now go and check on the hunt. Introduce yourself to Lettie, and make sure that the hunters haven't seriously injured Apollo."

He nodded and walked out the tent. Worried about the coming storm.

(Artemis)

As if Artemis didn't have enough to worry about already. Olympus is partially destroyed, the hunt isn't at its usual amount of numbers. But now she was worried about Percy. The way he looked before fighting the gorgons was like a look of enjoyment, almost sadistic. She was worried. And now... about HER awakening... If it is what she thinks it is, then Olympus is in danger. And Percy was not going to get the rest that he really deserved.

That boy sure has been through a lot. He lost his mother and he was betrayed by his friends. He needs a family, and as much as I loved adopting him, I know that I could never replace his mother. Sally Jackson was an amazing woman, i just want to make Percy feel at home and give him a family.

Artemis shook her head, shes got a lot to worry about. Her new son, the new threat and also the unconscious lieutenant in the tent with her.

Artemis summoned a chair and sat down, waiting for Thalia to wake up.

(Percy)

Percy was worried about the future. He didn't know what was going to happen, and that is what he didn't like. So until his mum could tell him more, he'll have to be stuck in the dark. It was frustrating that Artemis couldn't tell him, but he understood. Somethings were better not to know.

As he continued thinking about the situation, he wondered through the camp and couldn't help but notice the damage that was caused by the gorgon attack. Arrows were littered all over the floor, and there were slashes in every other tent. Percy wondered how long it would take to fix it.

He arrived at the pavilion where the hunters all had their bows on aimed at Apollo, who had his arms up in surrender.

Percy stepped in, after everything Apollo has said, he's owed this much.

"Guys, put the bows down Apollo hasn't done anything wrong. Artemis said that he could see his daughter."

Apollo looked at him gratefully but then turned back to the hunters.

"Listen here boy, we know Apollo. He is always over the line and flirtatious, this impostor has done no such thing!"

Pheobe pulled the string on her bow back a little further.

Apollo rolled his eyes,

"My reputation really puts me in deep sh..."

His mutters trailed off as the hunters looked ready to shoot until a small girls voice rang out from behind a tent.

"DADDY!"

The small blonde girl, Lettie as Percy remembered, ran straight towards a now smiling Apollo and jumped directly into his arms.

"Oh baby its okay, i'm here now. I got you here safe just like I said I would, I know mummy is gone but its okay. Auntie Artemis and all the hunters will take care of you."

Lettie started sobbing in her fathers arms as the hunters watched the following exchange in shock and intrigue. Never before had a demigod and their godly parent been so close. So now the hunters were even more confused as to what was going on. Was it Apollo? If it is then he's certainly changed, were the thoughts on everyone's minds.

She looked up at her dad with hope in her blue eyes,

"Will I still have you? I know the hunters can't have males here, but I lost mummy, I don't want to lose you."

Apollo knelt and put Lettie down, then put his hands on her face.

"Lettie, I may not be able to see you all the time, but Auntie Arty said that I could still come and see you whenever. So I am still going to be with you no matter what. But between the times that I visit, you're still going to have the hunters, Auntie Arty and also your big cousin Percy."

He gestured to Percy who offered a little wave and a gentle smile.

Lettie revealed a toothie grin and ran towards Percy who looked slightly scared.

"YAY COUSIN!"

She shouted as she jumped into the less than prepared cousin who collapsed to the ground with Lettie on top of him.

The hunters burst into laughter along with Lettie as Percy lay on the floor groaning. But Apollo stood there smiling, knowing just how much those two were going to get along.

"Wow, the hero of Olympus has been felled by an 8 year old girl."

Everyone turned towards the voice where a cheekily smiling Artemis was standing next to a pale but conscious Thalia.

"Yes mum, I did." Percy replied sarcastically.

Lettie was now sat cross-legged on Percy's chest clapping and laughing happily.

Apollo and Artemis shared a smile, both knowing that they were going to get along like brother and sister.

Percy sat up and Lettie fell into his lap and stayed there.

"I'm glad to see your up and awake Thals, I hope your fully okay."

She turned to him with a grumpy look.

I guess she wasn't happy with losing then

Percy thought to himself.

"I'm fine, but thank you Apollo, I really appreciate the help."

He turned away from his daughter and smiled at Thalia,

"No worries, its good that you're back on your feet."

She nodded at him and then Artemis started to speak.

"As you all know, Percy is now my adopted son, however we all know that he cannot stay with the hunt forever. So we're all going to go on a trip."

The hunters began murmuring among themselves.

"We're going to take Percy to the roman demigod camp, it will be a 3 month long trip trip. On the way we'll be hunting the remnants of Kronos' army."

The hunters were excited now.

"So lets pack up girls, and Percy, because we've got some hunting to do."

They all cheered and immediately jumped up getting ready to pack the campsite up. Even Lettie who didn't know what was going on was excited. Then Percy just looked terrified of the prospect of being with the hunt for 3 months.

Apollo stood beside Artemis,

"Is this going to all work out?"

She replied without looking but with a slight smile on his face,

"Probably not."

"You're going to enjoy this aren't you?"

"Of course. I'm gonna make sure to teach my son everything he needs to know before arriving at the camp. He's going to show them all up. Starting with that upstart son of Jupiter."

Apollo laughed but then remembered something. He looked over at Thalia who was quietly packing away her tent.

"Does she know?"

Artemis shook her head,

"Not yet, but she will."

Apollo nodded and stared at Percy who was stood there awkwardly,

"He's powerful. Very powerful. These three months, he's going to need a lot of training. From you, from me and from Hades and Vesta. But by the end of it, he's going to be unstoppable."

Artemis smiled proudly,

"I'll make sure of it. He deserves a good life, I just hope I can be a good mother to him. Sally Jackson was an amazing mother."

Apollo turned towards his sis,

"I've seen you with the hunters, you're amazing to them and their not even your children. You're going to be a fantastic mother."

"Thank you Apollo." She said smiling gratefully at her brother.

By this time, the hunters were all packed up and ready to move. Percy and Lettie were stood in the middle, fascinated and bewildered by the speed and efficiency of the packing.

Artemis took a step forward.

"We're ready to go, so get ready hunters..."

"WE'RE GOING TO CAMP JUPITER!"
