Today was my first proper day attending Tokyo Jujutsu High. And thankfully, my uniform had been delivered to my room the night before. But first, I had to get my morning run in. I was usually up at some ungodly hour anyway because I suffered from frequent nightmares, which meant my sleep pattern was awful. But it meant my body was sort of used to being up super early in the morning and somehow, I managed to get through the day and most of the evening with an occasional nap here and there.
The grounds round the school really were lovely, especially in the early morning light. I tightened the laces on my trainers and did a little light stretching before I set off. It was about half past six and I figured that I could do a half hour run, get back to the school and get showered and changed in to my uniform and maybe even have some breakfast before school started. I sorted my hair out and put on the bare minimum of make up before I got in my uniform. It fit me well and was surprisingly comfortable with good range of movement in it. I paired with with some black knee high socks and a pair of black army boots. We had this uniform, but what we wore with it wasn't strictly regulated or anything. I thought that was pretty cool, our uniform back home was what it was and if you didn't wear it correctly then you got in trouble.
Janey had her breakfast earlier as she had to go do something with the other supervisors. She said she'd be back for my first class, so in the meantime; I was on my own in the large kitchen just off the recreational room . It was quite daunting being on my own, with my minimal terrible Japanese so I kept to myself where I could. I could carry a conversation to a point but nothing too complicated. Nanami and Haibara had wandered in and said hello. Nanami was quiet and to the point while Haibara was like an excitable puppy. He seemed quite fun, but way to excitable for me in the morning. Eventually the rest of my class wandered in. Shoko didn't seem like a morning person in the slightest. She also didn't seem like a breakfast person either but I could smell a hint of an early morning smoke on her. She greeted me and came to sit at the table I was at.
'Ready for your first proper day Gigi?'
'As ready as I'll ever be.'
'You'll be fine. This isn't a regular school, so our days are varied. They pass pretty quickly.'
I nodded. I was quite impressed with myself in how I was keeping up. At this rate, I'd be fluent in no time!
'Good morning Gigi. How are you?'
'Oh, good morning Geto. I'm well, you?' I looked up to see Suguru Geto, stood over me with what I would now consider his signature smile. He seemed really nice, not like the other one. Speaking of, where was he? I didn't see him anywhere. Shoko and Geto were talking about him, Gojo that is; but this conversation I couldn't quite keep up on. Anyway, I excused myself as I needed to go back to my room and collect my weapon bag with my hockey stick and cinquedea. I hurried my way along the halls and back round to the students dormitory where I found Leo, the little cat-lion cursed corpse wandering through the halls on his own.
'Aw hey little guy. Gimmie a high five!' I said as I knelt down next to the critter and showed him my palm. Leo jumped at my hand and hit it with his own little stuffed paw, it landed with a squeak which made me smile.
Then I felt the energy. The energy was coming from the dorms and along the wide hall toward me, where I was still bent down talking to my little plushie friend. I could see him out the corner of my eye, the white haired boy Gojo, who constantly wore sunglasses. He casually walked along with his hands in his pockets, barely even acknowledging me. I pet Leo on the head and stood up so I could run back to my room and grab my kit bag. As I jogged past Gojo, I could sense his energy spike and I'm sure I saw him look over at me. With that one little glance I had of him, I could tell he was tired for some reason. I couldn't stop and ask if he was okay or if he had a bad nights sleep as I was wanting to get my stuff before I made myself late, but I'm pretty sure he didn't like me so.
I didn't bother. I carried on down the hall in to the dorms but one thing bothered me. I could feel Gojo's energy fluctuate more. I glanced behind me for a brief moment and I swear I saw him stood, unmoving and staring at me with his shockingly blue eyes.
