Hughie Campbell Pov:

"Why didn't I help her? It happened so fast that I reacted to the kid than my girlfriend, her girl's mom was handing off one of those soldiers when one of them saw me and Robin trying to get her away from the church. He was about to fire at her but Robin stepped in to prevent us from getting shocked, then out of nowhere there was a smashing sound coming from inside of the building. It made the soldier accidentally pull the pin connected to his grenade as was about to blow up, while I was protecting the girl. Robin tossed him on the ground and kept on top of him so the explosion didn't harm us. I should have been the one to do it, Robin should have protected Maya, and I stopped the attacker. I should have done more."

Afternoon-Hospital

Having been given a small medical center to keep the paparazzi and journalists out of the building. Kessler had found a suitable area where the injured people from Maeve and Cheetah's wedding could be treated, such as Cold Snap who had been burnt by the soldiers with enhanced grenades that denied him to heal his wounds with his frost powers.

"Why is it that my fucking hands are the reason for everyone to break?! It's every fucking time!"

Ground Hawk shouted as he was sharing a room with Cold Snap, where he was having his hands looked at after he had his metal hammers destroyed by Parasite. Most of the league and guests were being treated for the small injuries they sustained during the fight. Next door was Hughie who was sitting by Robin's bed as she was sleeping from being treated by the doctors. He'd been restless since they came to the hospital since he didn't know if he left something might happen to Robin, maybe even getting attacked again by those people who assaulted the church.

"Mr. Campbell?"

A voice called out his name he looked over to see a doctor holding several papers that held information about Robin's condition. Walking over nervously, he could see there were signs of discomfort on the doctor's face about what was happening to his girlfriend.

"It was fortunate that the league was brought in quickly to have her injuries looked after. The medicine we put in her is helping her strengthen the white blood cells that are looking for any outside bacteria that she'd receive when she was attacked."

Explaining what the staff was doing for Robin's condition as it was fortunate for Bizarro to carry the injured to the hospital before returning to the League to come up with a counterattack against the wedding crashers. While it made Hughie feel relieved that there was a chance for Robin to be all right, the doctor showed an expression about another matter that he had to inform the boyfriend of.

"That being said. We don't know when she'll awake since the blast was strong enough to knock her out. Right now, the only one that can help is herself. Will be here for the time being."

He brought up that with the medications that Robin had been given, the only way for her to show any signs of recuperating was if she'd wake up on her own. With that being said and going off to attend to other patients, Hughie walked over to sit by Robin's side unsure when she'd wake up. It could be at any time of day or week before he knew she would be conscious again, all that he could do was wait by her side to see if she awakened.

"Why wasn't I the one to take the blast?"

Hughie asked the unconscious girl in the bed who he'd been dating for several years since they met back at his electronics job. It was lucky that they survived the year together since the recent events that involved the Seven's downfall, Homelander becoming a monster and Eclipso taking over New York City. He didn't imagine that this would be the moment where things would go sideways for the both of them, especially since he wanted to suggest a wedding in the future when they could afford it. Continuing to think about when she'd wake up, there was a knock on the door which took Hughie by surprise for who was checking up on them.

"Dad?"

Responding to the unusual arrival of his father since he nor Robin had informed their parents about attending the Supe wedding. Fortunately, the Bureau had come to contact them and be informed of their whereabouts. Robin's family had been placed in protective service after their headquarters had been half destroyed by the mutated WebWeaver. Walking over to hug his son for what Hughie had gone through, the two looked at the unconscious woman who was lying in front of them.

"How's she doing?"

His father asked out of concern due to him being informed by the doctors that the injuries she had gotten from the fight had been patched up and slowly healing. There weren't any signs of her awakening from her unconscious state, it left Hughie to stress himself over the circumstances she was in.

"I don't know. For the last hour, I've been texted by her parents blaming me for letting their daughter get hurt and me not doing anything about it. The only thing I did was protect a kid while Robin protected the both of us."

His son explained to the father that during the incident he could have leaped in front of the soldier and taken the blast while Robin protected Maya. Hearing his explanation and taking a moment to understand what he did leave Hughie's father upset about how this was making his son blame himself for following his instinct.

"You did what you could. Besides, Robin is still alive and right in front of you. Along that she'd slap your head for thinking that you made a mistake in saving that girl."

Informing Hughie that what he did was the right move in protecting Maya from harm while Robin took action and handled the shooter by herself. While his father said it with the best intentions and made him believe what he did was the right move, Hughie felt upset that he could have done more at the moment. The two men continued to look after Robin until they noticed a smell of smoke coming from the hallway. It was John and June Moone who looked inside to see if they weren't interrupting anything.

"Sorry if we're coming in unannounced. There was something we needed to discuss with Hughie, we can come back at another time."

June apologized for entering the room and seeing the two talking as Hughie gestured to them that his conversation with his dad was over. Taking a moment to pay their respect for Robin being unconscious, Constantine looked at her to see a familiar resemblance to Astra. A girl he failed to save during an exorcism, it was fortunate that she would be able to make a recovery when she was able to wake up.

"We should cut the water works and get to the point of this visit. How'd you like it if you got payback for the bastard who put your girlfriend in this state?"

Constantine looked at Hughie if he would be interested in getting revenge for ruining the wedding and hurting Robin at the same time. It took him by surprise when he offered the deal while his father wanted to question this offer since the last thing he wanted to see was his son getting into danger. June stepped between the two since there was an explanation behind the question that Constantine said.

"What he meant by that is we know how we can avoid any more people getting hurt. Especially, this being done by someone who isn't a Supe or anyone with powers. This has to be done by someone who has much potential in them without even knowing it."

She informed Hughie's father about what was involved in Hughie's aid since he would be the only one who could stop this before things escalated. With what he had seen back at the wedding and knowing the attackers wouldn't stop until the League was dead. He looked over at Robin's unconscious body and felt himself being filled with anger as he seemed interested in agreeing to whatever the warlock had intended for the attackers.

"I don't know who you are or what you're getting at. But you're not endangering my boy, I won't have him getting involved in something that'll get him killed."

Hughie's father denied any idea that he would give his son since he had already seen what the Injustice League's life was, full of destruction and death with an uncertainty of anyone surviving. With that being said and seeing how the two men were going to argue about Hughie's involvement, the young man stepped in to have his say in the matter and if he wanted to help.

"Dad. If there's a chance of preventing anyone else from getting harmed and showing Robin's parents that I could have done more, then I'll do it. Because it's better than waiting here to see Robin like this."

He spoke out on that instead of sitting by Robin's bed to see her wake up in front of him while everyone was fighting. She could hear how her boyfriend got payback for the men who ruined a wedding and attempted to kill a kid who was with them. Hughie's father could see the determination on his face in wanting to avenge Robin and getting back at the men for almost harming the guests during the union, there was still fear in him about what Hughie was saying since his father had seen on the news about the encounters the Injustice League had been involved in.

"I promise you, Mr. Campbell. Will make sure he won't be harmed in any way, cross my heart."

June assured his father how he'd be safe under their protection as the man still questioned what they were telling his son. Looking over at Hughie seeing there was no chance of stepping away at getting payback for harming his girlfriend, he walked over to hug him since he was scared of letting him go off with strange people and get involved in things not even he could understand.

"Just get your ass here before Robin wakes up. She'll be upset if I'm here taking your spot in looking after her."

Instructing Hughie that he'd make it back when his girlfriend would awake and not see her boyfriend here. Taking the response as a sign of letting him go with June and Constantine to see how he could help with fending off the invaders, Constantine took it as a sign to get started with them departing. Closing the door and pulling out a piece of chalk, the warlock inscribes the symbol of an ankh while speaking an enchantment that would allow them entrance to another plain of existence. It took several seconds before the door started to glow and for the other side to be changed completely.

"Now then. Let's get this bloody show on the run before the world ends."

Constantine suggested before stepping through the door taking the lead while June waited patiently for Hughie to say his goodbye to his dad and Robin before joining her. Just as he watched his son leave with June and step through the door, the Ankh symbol faded away before going back to normal. The father was confused about what had happened and wanted to see if they were still in the hospital, he walked over to open the door again to only see Maya who was pushing her mother in a wheelchair since she was injured during the wedding.

"Oh, hello. Do you know if Hughie Campbell is here? I wanted to thank him for keeping my daughter safe."

The electricity Supe asked the father if Hughie was around as she wanted to thank him for protecting her daughter. Unable to explain where his son was right now since he and the pair disappeared, he had to come up with something to not give Nubia any idea of what they were doing since she was a part of the league.

"He went to get Robin some things from back home. If you want, I can tell you some things about Hughie that he got from me."

He offered to tell the two several stories about his son's childhood that helped him muster the courage to look after Maya when she was attacked. Nubia was unsure of how he said it due to the look he had on his face from seeing him unordinary, she would ask him later since this wasn't the time to question anything but take things easy while the others planned on getting payback from the attackers. Agreeing to hear several stories about her daughter's savior, Maya pushed her mother's wheelchair into the room so they could give Robin company along with the father so that he could relieve himself of any stress of what the two people were doing with his son.

Unknown

Having followed Constantine through the door and leaving the hospital, Hughie felt his body flying in the air before returning to solid ground as he looked around the surroundings where he'd been taken too. All around him were doors leading to different places across time and space with a set of stairs to take them there. Hughie was captivated and scared at the same time due to how impossible it was for him to be here, he looked over to see Constantine unamused by the place along with June who had changed her appearance to that of the Enchantress since the witch would be needed in this place.

"Welcome to the Tower of Fate. Home to a doctor who's looked over our world for thousands of years, a bit of a cheeky bastard when you think of it having this place all to himself."

The Warlock spoke about the one person being able to help them out since battling a Lord of Chaos was no easy feat, especially when it came to the likes of Klarion who was considered the most unstable due to his childlike behavior. Enchantress slapped John upside his head about how he spoke ill of the owner of the tower.

"Watch that tongue of yours, mortal. Nabu is a powerful being who should not be taken lightly, especially since we're trespassing in his home."

She told him that they were trespassing within the tower since they werent invited but entered unannounced. With that being said and getting the notion of getting into trouble, Hughie noticed the torches around them shifting to the point where they started to change into creatures.

"What kind of horror show did I agree to?!"

Hughie spoke in fear at the flame monsters stepping out and pulling swords from their backs to handle the intruders. Enchantress decided to oblige the creatures in a fight as she ignited her hands with her unique type of fire and she absorbed the flames from each of them. Yet just as she did so, Enchantress felt herself being burned from the inside as the flames left her hands and went back to the creatures.

"I suggest you take the boy and get him acquainted with our host. Fast."

She advised Constantine to escort Hughie to get a chance to meet Nabu before the tower's defenses took them out. Not arguing with the witch and taking Hughie away from the fight, he looked behind him to see the Enchantress using her dark magic against the creatures as he heard wailing being made by her.

"Better not to see than hear it. Woman's a downright succubus when she has her way."

John told Hughie about Enchantress cutting loose on people who would want to fight her. Unable to respond to the warlock's quip about the witch's unnatural power, he saw numerous things coming out of the doors such as hurling weapons and creatures coming right at him and Constantine. Putting a shield over the two and continuing their running, John looked in his coat to see if there was anything that could help them escape getting killed.

"If Nabu is supposed to be a hero then why the fuck is trying to kill us?!"

Hughie asked before seeing what looked like a large snake leaping out of a door about to swallow him whole. John was lucky to find in his coat a scroll that he opened for Hughie which summoned a ghost wielding a sword that cut the serpent in two as it helped the scared man follow Constantine to their destination.

"Like I said. Cheeky bastard, not the social type as you can tell."

Responding to him about how Nabu treats his house guests who come in unannounced and want an audience with him. Continuing the run and heading up a staircase leading to what looked like a fireplace, the two arrived and saw a chair sitting in front of the flame along a side of shelves with books that told the history of humanity as well as the origins of magic.

"Hey Nabu. Pardon us for the blatant arrival, but we need your help with a certain chaos maker who is supposed to be back home with his buddies."

He stated what was happening and Klarion being involved in the matter as Hughie watched Constantine made his way to Nabu thinking that he was sitting in the chair. Before he could get to Nabu, several chains appeared from the fire and wrapped the two men as well as forced them to go on their knees to show respect toward him. Hearing footsteps coming from another set of stairs, they saw a grey-skinned statue walking toward the chair which left Hughie to believe that was Nabu. Turning the chair over toward them, they saw a golden helmet resting on the chair which caught Hughie by surprise as he looked over to Constantine to be informed that was Nabu.

"I had warned you in the past that if you came to my home, I'd turn you into a statue, Constantine."

The helmet of Nabu spoke to the men telepathically leaving Hughie confused about the history between them not being good. The statue places Nabu upon its head as the helmet takes control so that he can speak to them with words rather than with telepathy since he desires to be direct at them.

"What I find insulting is you and the witch bringing a nonmagic user to the Tower of Fate. Who has now seen things that will never leave his mind, even with a memory eraser spell."

Nabu told Constantine about the danger of bringing one of Earth's ancient threats to his home as well as someone who had anything special or unique that could survive a day in the tower. Continuing to keep the intruders at bay, Nabu pulled John toward him to explain the reason why he and the Enchantress brought Hughie before him.

"Well, that's surprising since you should be downright pissed at Klarion causing all kinds of trouble while the Lords of Order and Chaos let it happen. And that you've been here by yourself without a host to be with and handle it. Which is where my associate comes in."

The warlock brought up how Nabu was a vital part of his masters in keeping the balance of order and chaos, he wasn't doing anything with what Klarion had been doing on Supe Earth. The gold helmet figure stared at Hughie to see what John meant as he walked over to confront the simple man he forced the young man to stand on his feet and look directly at him.

"I can sense the anger of someone close to you being harmed, along the line of wanting revenge. Did the warlock inform you to get it would be to wear my helmet? Granting you unlimited power and the cost of your free will."

Nabu told Hughie about what he'd lose if he wanted to face the attackers who ruined the wedding and put Robin into an unconscious state. There was a moment of silence for Hughie as he looked at Constantine to see if it was the truth and that he'd have to give up his individuality to avenge Robin being harmed and to find the ones behind this act. The warlock said nothing as it left the boy to see that the helmet was telling the truth, looking back at Nabu's glowing eyes Hughie focused on not being intimidated by him.

"If that's what it takes, I'm ready. Because that person that's close to me? Risked her life to save someone she didn't know. Now it's my turn, so let's fucking go."

Hughie announced in was ready to accept the position of Nabu's host and use his magic to battle Klarion and his forces. The helmet remained silent before he had the statue remove it from its head, he aimed it above the human before placing it on Hughie's head. The statue crumbled in front of the human as suddenly the body glowed brightly which blinds Constantine and caused the defenses within the tower to stop. Having been free of his bonds and standing up, the warlock saw in front of him floating in the air was Dr. Fate.

"Fate has returned!"

He announced in a commanding tone as Nabu and Hughie became one being of great power and wisdom. Turning away from Constantine, the doctor generates the symbol of his Ankh as he flies through it which leaves John confused as to where he is going. John was then accompanied by the Enchantress as she was half burned by the fire demons that she'd kept distracted along noticing the magic of Fate being used in front of them.

"The Lord of Order's agent has returned to balance the scale of power. I wonder what his first spell will be in battling the witch boy."

The immortal witch asked Constantine who didn't say anything as he saw something coming through the door which left him to move to the side as they saw a blur coming through and falling to the ground. Enchantress didn't recognize the dark-skin man while John knew who it was, he was a deceased member of the Seven called A-Train. Though he was wearing a torn-up uniform which seemed like Fate had pulled him from a wasteland.

"Who the fuck are you people? I need to get back! Behemoth is going to tear my friends apart!"

He shouted at being dragged from a fight as the speedster's question was answered by the head of Behemoth tumbling to the ground. Having been speechless by the sight of a dead member from the Overseers dead at his feet. Walking out of the portal and standing in front of the confused Supe, Doctor Fate looked at A-Train before removing his helmet showing Hughie's face as he had a focused expression after realizing Nabu's power and understanding what his duty was.

"Reggie Franklin, you don't know me. But in another life, we were enemies who would do anything to get back at one another. But fate, requires us to work together."

Hughie called out his real name and showed him a hand in needing to trust him for working together against his world's enemies and to stop Homelander Prime from invading this world. Confused by being saved by him and not knowing if he could trust him, the Supe obliged in the offer to stop the Overseers and end the nightmare in his home forever. John and the Enchantress kept silent about what they had to do to get an edge against Klarion since an agent of Order would be able to beat an agent of Chaos. Hopefully, things will turn out well and Hughie can have his life back once the battle is over.
