But I refuse! 5 - or 'How I realized I became the MC/Cuck of a RPG game and decided to use all tricks and tools to dodge 'em issues!' (NTRPG Fantasy Games, SmartGamer!SI)
Fast-travel is a thing which was... good news. The issue was that it took me a while to 'time' the best opportunity to get started with the next Dungeon.
Lorem had wasted time being too flashy with her battles, while Merii successfully pushed through and managed to not only keep up with her sister but actually get to her same level. As they both reached LVL. 9, I decided they were ready for the next hurdle: the abandoned mines just beside the Forest dungeon.
I had to wait to get my mother to sleep earlier than usual, and soon I was leading the two demon girls out of the forest and into the new dungeon. The first thing that came to mind and that was then voiced by Lorem was:
"Slimes? Again?!"
I couldn't fault the girl for the lack of variety into common mobs in the northern region, but it would be wrong to say these slimes were the same as those in the forest. Where those blue gooey creatures fueled their vitality and growth through the natural energy in that open environment, the Cave Slimes were a bit tougher due to their propensity to siphon energy from the numerous mana crystals around.
The shinier hue compared to their usually dark-blue body proved that magical energy reinforced their usual endurance, making them tougher but also more active in combat. Lorem was given proof of that when she went to rush to a bunch of those, only for her to get hit by a combined bubble blast that soaked her wet. The damage was abysmal considering her insane Stats' growth compared to a mere human, but it definitely bruised her ego from the murderous look on her face.
"Lorem!" Merii's worry had slowly morphed in those weeks to be less defensive and more aggressive towards the cause of trouble. Her poisonous tendrils extended from her wings and rapidly stabbed the various slimes.
Damage-wise, the move didn't do much on the mobs' HP bars, but it left them with Poisoned Statuses that started to burn away that very bar with damage unfolding each passing second. It was distracting enough for those relatively simple-minded monsters for Merii to rush up to assist Lorem as she had turned her attention to another pair of troublemakers: Cave bats.
Differently from slimes, those monsters were not damage-sponges. Their 'strength' lied within their agility and how precise shots tended to fail when lacking the right amount of speed behind them. Hence why, rather than struggle like how she did with the Cave Slimes, Lorem's fire power was able to overwhelm her opponents.
One thing that has to be conceded was that Lorem's attacks were 'AoE' and thus tended to hit with ease multiple targets at once. Some of those may be 'blast-upon-impact' but some of her fire spells were wide enough to render minimal agility advantage worthless.
The bats trying to avoid the walls of flames were soon carbonized by the giddy demonette, while Merii focused on the other Cave Slimes that had rushed towards them. Pacing was also important as I had taught them to never stop moving and to never become a static target to their opponents, thus limiting their chances of getting hit by multiple attacks at once.
And... while they were busy with those mobs, I found myself facing the high-level foes that I had looked for - the Skele-Knights.
One thing that I forgot to mention is 'why' the Abandoned Mines were abandoned. The game didn't explain it, just shrugging at their origin by slapping the 'monsters came, so people abandoned it' sort of implicit explanation, but there was an actual story behind it.
A necromancer once infiltrated these mines when they were active, being hired as a miner and then using his position to set up a spail to drain to death the various workers. When it became clear that something weird was going on, one of the past kings was warned and he sent a group of mages to take care of this.
When they arrived, the workers had pretty much died, with the Necromancer using their corpses to fight but... that didn't matter as the mages proved to be too strong for the novice necromancer. While the dark wizard was beaten, his last spell that consumed his remaining lifeforce created a permanent necromancy curse that caused the dead to rise up.
The less disturbed the site, the more potent the curse tended to get. And right now, the monstrous remains of the miners had morphed to level up and become higher monsters. The Skele-knights were the current highest mob in the area. With weapons deformed through their arms' bones, the beasts were smarter and tougher to face.
I was faster and I was not risking myself too open around those. Their attacks were medium-ranged but slow, causing me to calculate each strike to ultimately end with safe victories. One thing to mention is that those places gave the same in-game amount of EXP, which meant that putting a few hours a night into these skirmishes allowed us to grind even harder and go through two lengthy nights of training.
Lorem and Merii managed to make it to Level 17, while I made it up to Level 25.
Blade - Young Assassin
Lv. 25
HP: 2500
SP: 1250
ATK: 94
DEF: 109
MAT: 107
MDF: 111
AGI: 128
LUK: 134
Big profit, even more when those level ups led to two more skills being added to my list.
Double Strike (50 SP per use) - Attack your opponent with two rapid attacks with damage reduced by 25%.
Murderous Healing (100 SP per use) - Restore 30% of your HP.
These skills reaffirmed what I had deduced: my class had been switched, which meant that I wasn't going to learn within my current limits anything that could be considered 'heavy-hitting'. Tragic, but I had plans to find a way around the limitations.
At the same time, I also saw fit to find a proper solution to Lorem and Merii's living situation. None of us could do anything to manipulate the mind of the next chief, but I tinkered around the crafting menu to realize that we could actually 'craft' a house.
Well, not a proper one, but a hideout in the forest for the two to own.
It was set somewhere by the outskirts, with bushes and generic foliage hiding away most of its frame as it was small but relatively packed with most services and needed rooms. And, by the time it was time for them to vacate the chief's home, the two had a proper place to stay for the time being.
So, we were ready for the new chief's arrival. As told by the letter, the new chief was a woman that was going from MILF to GILF. A bit far from being a grandma, but she was definitely older than my mother.
"Oh my, aren't you a handsome young man? What's your name, sonny? I am Momoko."
I could sense from a glance that she was not trying to be 'grandmotherly'. I also could tell my mother was of the same kind of mindset when her hands on my shoulders tightened their hold, almost trying to stop me. She couldn't really, but it wasn't like I was walking up to get hugged by a woman I saw as reliable.
Not when the tight hug and the flushed cheeks highlighted what I had suspected from the get go, and what gave me both relief and unease: this bitch was a shotacon.
And I was going to milk this element as much as possible without giving up much of what I can offer.

So, I have to once again remind readers that this story is strictly set in fantasy scenarios, not modern ones. I had a few guests in FFN asking for games which premises are set in modern/non-fictional times. Please stop doing that.
Still, next time will see some limited lewd interactions and... I will not promise anything else since one of the guests in FFN literally seethed and raged over me forgetting to add the secret POV last time. Le Shrug.
