N.A.T.U

Chapter 4

Author Notes: Now hopefully this is the chapter where things start heading towards a more positive path.

Sen: Do you really believe that?

Mako: It's either that or my character is going to drown herself into the ocean before Jin's character gets properly introduced

Jin: Yay death!

Sen: ...*whispers* why did we invite him again? I forgot about his obsession with murder and dying.

Mako: *snorts* no you didn't.

Sen: You're right I didn't-still bad Jin! No! Save that for Danganronpa.

Jin: Why not!? Dying is fun.

Mako: *facepalms* This is not going to end well. Welp we do not own Pokemon.

3rd P.O.V

Morning came all too soon as sunlight peered through the window. The warm rays were hitting Shishiki just right, making her blink in irritation. With a groan she tries burying her head underneath the pillows and blankets.

But it was a futile attempt...she was awake. And that meant there were things to be done. Starting with continuing her attack on the joltik army waiting from beyond her room. "What the!?" However she quickly found that just like yesterday and the day before...things were not going according to plan.

She went to her door, twisting the metal knob, only to find the darn door unwilling to move. "You have got to be kidding me." No matter how hard she pushed or pulled...it didn't budge. She could hear them as she struggled against the door.

Little shrieks and skitters on the wooden floor. "They actually trapped me in here." From the cracks of her door she could see thin, almost transparent strands. They used string shot and sticky web, if she wasn't so annoyed with everything going on she'd be impressed with their ingenuity.

They realized she was a threat, didn't bother entering with her buneary and repellents, instead figured the best course of action was to keep her encaged. Still. It seemed the pokegods refused to give her a break. Her attention shifts to her window.

A curious sound escapes the little rabbit as her owner opens up the frame, dipping her head outside. Humming thoughtfully Shishiki got a good look at the distance between her and the ground. The two of them were only on the second floor of the dorm, so it wasn't too bad.

However trying to jump from this height still wasn't the best of ideas. Luckily for her she had two sets of bed sheets at her disposal. First though she gathers her side bag, making sure her new pokedex and a few other necessary items were in her inventory before returning to the window.

"Time to bust out of here Labunni." Immediately she went to work, twisting and knotting up the sheets together to make a long rope. Testing it with a sharp tug, Shishiki smiled in triumph. Happy that it stayed in place considering it wasn't anything too complicated.

If anything, much to her glee the large tangled almost braid like knots tightened even more with the resistance. "Remind me to buy some new sheets." Her buneary leaped onto her shoulder, chirping in confirmation before gripping onto Shishiki's neck.

Slowly, very slowly and carefully the student climbed her way down the handmade rope. "I swear those joltiks are going to get it later." She was so glad her room wasn't on the fourth or fifth floor, otherwise she probably would've had a heart attack with the heights.

And would officially be stuck because there was no way the sheets would've been anywhere near the ground. But it was ok, she was steadily getting closer and closer to land. So what if her arms were killing her from the strain? Everything. Was. Fine!

"What the-! Hey what are you doing!?" A loud, shrilly voice startled Shishiki, making her lose her grip. Gravity took her down, her yelp of fear cut short as she in what felt like seconds crashed onto her back, groaning in pain.

Fortunately Labunni didn't get crushed under her weight, having maneuvered at the last second to land safely on her trainer's stomach. "Are you ok!?" She wanted to retort, stating that she was fine up until they-whoever they are-distracted her.

But she bites the comment back. Only muttering under her breath as she makes her way to her feet. Dusting off the aches and dirt that of course had to stain her outfit. Just perfect. Another glorious start to her new school year.

"What the hell do you think you're doing climbing up there!? Don't you know that building is off limits?" Climbing up? "Um, I was climbing down actually. I was on the second floor." The man stared at her with wide eyes.

His face starting to go red from contorting so much in his rage induced state. "Are you crazy!? No one is allowed to be there due to the joltik and garvantula infestation! What were you thinking?!" Today was not a good day.

Hell, this wasn't even a good week, but this guy was really screwing up her somewhat good mood. No, scratch that. She didn't even HAVE a somewhat good mood. He just broke what little bit of patience she had. Awakening a lot of pent up anger and frustration.

"I figured I was better off dealing with them then the bitch of a roommate from the temporary dorm I was assigned to! From the moment I got off the damn boat, I've dealt with nothing but bullshit! And according to the headmaster we could enter the place."

The elder man was ready to break blood vessels. The school year hasn't even started and he was already regretting life. Especially with that last statement that came out of her mouth. "What do you mean the headmaster said that!?" His face was now paling at the thought.

So much so that for a solid minute Shishiki contemplated her next choice of words. But hey-he was going to find out anyways, and her back was seriously hurting from the fall. For better or for worse, she tells him of the orientation(or rather lack of it) where the headmaster appeared before them.

The man with the eccentric aura standing before them was the one and only Sen Mizuki. The owner of not only NATU but the whole island that housed even more schools dedicated to pokemon. With a single clap of his gloved hands, he speaks, loud and clear to where even she could hear in the back.

"Now now there's no need for such fuss-we are on a huge island after all! There's plenty of room bunking with other dorms. Or we can provide camping gear where you can live one on one with the wild pokemon we have here. Or...you can try you luck fighting off joltiks and galvantulas while restoring power in the dorms?"

Immediately the man before her groans. Clutching his face in a vain attempt in preventing sobs from bursting free. He doesn't get paid enough for this! Why was this happening? Or better yet why did he ever agree to work here?!

"I can't believe that idiot said that! Listen to me closely young lady. That dorm building until it is properly checked and cleaned is off limits. Honestly I shouldn't even be going over this. You were given the options of a temporary dorm or camping-WHY come here!?"

At this point he was ranting, she was quickly getting a headache from him. She waits, tapping her foot as he goes off, pacing around her now disinterested form. Only when he starts panting, completely out of breath after what seemed like an eternity does she retort back.

Listing her reasoning. Yeah, one could say her actions were reckless, nearly stupid. But...she really couldn't care what people thought of her. Shishiki was already sick of this school, and classes haven't even began! At this point, was there really any sort of reasoning for her to stay?

Yeah she wanted to further her education and work with pokemon but right now it just didn't feel worth it. Sighing she crosses her arms, smiling slightly as her rabbit companion nuzzles her cheek. Easily feeling her frustration.

"Again, I originally did the temporary dorms, only to have a bitch of a roommate treat me like shit, insulting me and locking me out of my room. I could've done camping. But that means dealing with a bunch of people who want to battle me in the woods. I'd rather deal with the electric ticks and spiders."

Pokemon were far more tolerable then people in her opinion. Always have, always will. "Still though-it's too dangerous for you to be staying there! The headmaster should've never said something like that-even as a joke. Please tell me you were the only one there." Shishiki could only give a small grimace.

Making him dread her answer. "Well, when I entered I was the only one there. But...that doesn't mean people didn't come in before me." On the first two floors she mainly dealt with joltiks, maybe one or two galvantula's surprising her, but nothing too bad.

Though she didn't bother with the basement or any other sections of the dorm, when she went in her priority was finding her room, so she really had no clue just how bad the infestation was. Cursing both his job and the headmaster he grabbed his walky. Wincing a moment as static hit his ears before yelling into it.

"If there are any staff on the school grounds with fire and rock type pokemon they are to drop whatever they are doing to come to the Rainbow dorms. Thanks to our idiot headmaster several students have possibly gone into the joltik and garvantula infested rooms. Over." He took his hand off the talk button.

Waiting for any sort of response. At this point...Shishiki was just standing there, unsure what to do. Within a minute there's an answer. "This is Blaine, I stole Mr. Moore's walky talky. We're on our way over with Flannery." It was music to his ears as more and more people gave confirmation that they were on their way.

Satisfied, the man who still didn't bother to introduce himself turned to her. "Now that-that's situated, I don't want to see you around here until we get the ok that it's safe to enter." She couldn't believe this. Clenching her fists she tries to breathe...reeling in her reignited anger.

Once more she was homeless...with none of her luggage. She still had no idea as to where her classes were. And it seemed like the only help she was getting for this bullshit was screwing her over. The man flinched at her harsh gaze.

"What about my stuff? I literally spent the night in my dorm room and was just fine! It's been days now, which we were told before that everything was getting handled. Classes are right around the corner-what am I supposed to do!?" Her patience has officially snapped.

And the poor individual before her was about to feel it firsthand. She listened to him whine, complain and to some extent insult her. Now? Now it was her turn. Labunni could only shake her head as her owner (rightfully) goes into her rant.

"From the moment I got off the boat I've dealt with nothing but Bullshit. Twice now I've lost access to my stuff, dealt with staff that have more or so hindered me-then helped me...You expect me to listen to you when clearly no one here seems to know or fucking care what the hell is going on?"

Theoretically, according to the principal the dorms should've been cleaned by now. Theoretically-she should already be unpacking and exploring the school a bit more. If she wanted to rock the whole camping nonsense with unpredictable, rotten luck she would've just started her pokemon journey when she was ten.

Not when she paid a crap ton of money to come here. "Look...there's really nothing I can do to help you. I'm just the main assistant for the principal. My job is to make sure none of the students get recklessly hurt or killed." He felt bad for her, he really did.

If he was in her shoes, he would've searched for the nearest boat back to civilization. But...of course, doing that would mean she would waste all the money spent on coming to this school. The contract she was forced to sign for admission stating there were no refunds.

Which is why he sighs, taking a glance towards the sky as pity fills his frame. "I'm going to regret this, but what's your room number?" He immediately avoided her gaze. "Floor two, room nineteen." Ok, he could work with that. At the very least it wasn't the basement or god forbid the attic.

"Tell you what, give me your contact information, and I'll text you when I grab your stuff. I'll send it over to the pokemon store for safekeeping so this way you at least have something until this situation gets handled." It was the best he could do given the circumstance.

But it seemed more than enough to appease her as she gave a smile. "Thank you." She still had to deal with grabbing her first set of belongings at the Cascade dorms as well as finding a place to sleep before learning the layout of the school...there was still a lot for her to do.

However there was finally a sliver of light to be found in her dark mood. At the very least she didn't have to go on a second shopping spree. Her poor wallet was full of mothims with how empty it was. Much like her stomach. "No need to thank me. Just get going."

Nodding her head she leaves, letting the man(she still didn't know his name) work in peace. Labunni cooed towards her owner, her eyes full of worry as she nuzzled into her hair. "It'll be ok Labunni...one step at a time." She took a glance towards the sky, anxious. Praying for some sort of miracle.

"Hey you! Let's battle!"

to be continued
