Be quiet.
Move fast.
Get in.
Grab the goods.
GeT oUt!
At this point Shishiki was grasping for straws. In all honestly this was a stupid idea, she just KNEW this was not going to end well. But considering her record of stupid stunts, this was probably the safest. At the very least the worst that could happen was stuff getting thrown at her.
Why? Because she decided to go a second round with the Cascade dorms. Though she appreciated the fact that her belongings from the Rainbow dorms was going to be collected...she still couldn't let go of the fact that the other half of her belongings was practically held hostage.
Was it really necessary for her to collect it? Arguably no, if anything she was being petty. Her clothes, cd player along with the other little knickknacks could always be replace. But all the same it was hers. If she was going to be staying here till graduation, she'd rather have her own things.
So Shishiki was not leaving empty handed this time around. Even if Labunni and her had to bust down the door, she would enter. And after this? Never. Again! She had no plans on ever returning to this wretched place full of snobs.
As much as she hated the idea...she would rough it out in the woods. Hoping that she wouldn't have to make herself too comfortable out in the wild. "How could you do this to me!?" But that would have to wait, the freshman had a bigger problem.
"How long has this been going on you asshole!?" Or not it seems. "Ladies, ladies please! There's no need to get upset." It seemed like Mr. Suave Lorenzo wasn't having a great start to his day either. "You cheating son of a bitch!" He was surrounded on all sides by a group of beautiful, enraged women.
Including her 'roommate' crying in dismay as she aided in the interrogations. Shishiki when she first entered the building expected a battle where she would struggle tooth and nail to get her luggage...but as if someone heard her desperate pleas allowed for the door to her destination wide open.
Carefully she slinks in, no one bothering to pay attention to her as their focus was more so on the dirt bag male. "Ok Labunni, let's get to work." Her hands were trembling as she went about gathering her things. Fortunately it taking little to no time for her to pack everything back into her suitcase.
It wasn't like she really had the chance to unload and settle down anyways. "Just who do you think you are!?" Shishiki winced as she picked up her bags. Sobs were echoing all throughout the hall. Lorenzo wasn't doing too good a job of calming his various girlfriends.
"Which one of us do you truly love Lorenzo?!" If anything any crap spewing from his mouth was making it worse. "I love all of you! Each of you are as unique and special as the stars in the night sky." It was the wrong answer.
Both Labunni and her owner couldn't help but snicker as karma came with a series of hard slaps. "Ow! Don't be like that!" Justly deserved if she had any say about that. Still she kept her guard up as she stealthily made her way out, following the route she originally came from.
Sighing in relief only when she exited the stuffy building. "Phew." It felt so nice to breathe in the open air. Though Shishiki would've loved to watch the cheating dirtbag get his ass handed to him, the last thing she needed was to get involved in the cross fire.
Especially with her ex roomie. No doubt she'd throw wild accusations again before summoning her dumb spritzee. A faint vibration is felt in her front pocket. "?" Reaching down she grabs her phone, narrowing her eyes in confusion at the unfamiliar caller id.
"Maybe it was that guy from earlier." Crossing her fingers with a quick prayer she flipped open her cell. Placing the device against her ear. "Hello? Is this Shishiki?" The voice was a bit off with the reverb but it didn't sound like the guy that lectured her at Rainbow dorms. "Yeah. Who is this?"
A chuckle is heard on the other line. "Don't tell me you forgot me already. It's Jordan." Now she was Not expecting that, though she won't deny it was nice hearing him on the other line. "Jordan?! How'd you get my number?" She could use having a nice person to chat with that isn't going to insult or lecture her.
Once more he chuckles, thoroughly amused. "Mr. Finnagan called, giving me a heads up on your situation. Which I demand details on when you arrive. I got a cup of moomoo milk and sweets with your name on it." It felt like cupid just struck her with an arrow, bless this cute boy.
"On my way." Immediately she returned her phone, making a beeline for the forest. At least grateful that the gps chip was guiding her properly. "If we cross through here, we should make it in no time." She still hadn't yet shredded the map in her bag.
That had to change, but not right now. Preferably when she had a place to sleep and a paper shredder on hand. Suddenly there was a rustle in the bushes behind her, causing both her and her pokepartner to tense. "Get back here! Yamper use nuzzle."
Shishiki didn't even have time to blink as a combee threw itself out from the bushes, practically colliding into her thanks to a shocking attack from the electric corgi. "Oof!" The bee pokemon was surprisingly heavy, knocking her onto the ground.
"Hey that's mine!" A boy comes into view then, his face in a scowl-not that she could tell as she was in a slight daze from the impact. Only able to somewhat watch as the paralyzed bug type was hovering over her fallen body in the hopes of getting away.
Only for it to stagger then fall into her bag with some premier balls she brought from home. The angry brunette glares at Shishiki as his target disappears in a flash of red. "Hand it over-I earned that!" And to think things were looking up.
At this point the freshman was so done. "Got any extra premier balls? If so I'll hand it over." He blinked then, surprised. This...wasn't how he thought she would react. Honestly he was expecting her to challenge him for it.
Or at least some sort of resistance, but she didn't argue or retort, hell she didn't even bat an eye. "Uh sure, hang on." He digs into his bag, haphazardly searching while she takes the now captured combee out of her own bag.
XxXxXxXxXxXx
"Wait so you actually gave him the combee?" She nods as she takes a sip of her hot chocolate, enjoying the added sweetness from the moomoo milk added to it. "Yep. I had enough confrontation for the day." Jordan shook his head, amazed.
Each story he was hearing from this girl was insane. Just how unlucky was she? "Did anything else happen?" Shishiki was glad she could finally relax, stealing another minior shaped cookie from the plate in front of her. "Yeah. I ran into an absol."
The store worker nearly choked on his drink, not sure he heard her right. "Wait...Absol?!" His companion could only nod since her mouth was still chewing. On the edge of his seat, he waited for her to finish her treat so she could continue.
"How? When!?" It felt like an eternity before she spoke again, leaving him in suspense because seriously! He's been working and attending school here for a couple years now and other then the occasional chaotic event the headmaster does-there's hardly been any exciting or crazy gossip.
He needed to know. "So after I gave the guy his little buzzing bee, I continued my way over. We stopped for a moment because Labunni found a little berry tree only to pick a fight with a wild bonsly over the fruit." That rock pokemon did not mess around.
There was no hesitation as it attacked with a barrage of rock throws and flails. "Did you catch it?" Her eyes glanced up at the ceiling as she took another well deserved sip. "Yeah. Though Labunni nearly one shot it with drain punch, probably would've if it didn't have sturdy."
She brings out the mentioned pokemon, still contained in her premier ball. "After the one-two-three click, Labunni ate herself into a food coma at the berry tree while I went to get my new little friend. As soon as I picked it up a harsh wind blew all around me." She rubbed her arms at the memory.
There were still goosebumps prickling her skin. "I was temporarily blinded by my hair which flew all around my face. But when my vision returned I saw it in the distance, staring at me for a solid minute before disappearing into the trees." Jordan's mouth was open.
For a moment he wanted to be skeptical, as absols-despite the principal's love of constantly bringing new pokemon species to his island, are rare. "And you're not pulling my leg?" For her to come across one was both cool and terrifying. "I got the pokedex entry to prove it."
On one hand, the fact that she saw it was incredible simply because it was so rare. "Show me." However, the fact that absol is a pokemon that is literally called the 'disaster' pokemon spelled bad news for her. "See." There it was, the image and information recorded for him to read.
"I'll be damned." The evidence was clearly in front of him, with the pokedex he himself sold her. "This is going to be a crazy year." She gave the boy a deadpanned expression. "It's already been a crazy year...and classes haven't even started yet." Shishiki sighed then, resting her head on the table.
She was so ready for a nap. "Well at least Mr. Finnagan managed to get your stuff from Rainbow dorms." That was true, she could agree that to an extent things are looking up. "Yeah but once more i'm stuck without a place to sleep. It's going to be a couple more days till I'm able to go back to my dorm."
When classes officially starts...A wince formed on his face. "Yeah. Heard about that after you left. Guess that explains why I didn't have so many customers the last couple days." He was part of the Earth dorms which was little ways away from the infested building, so it was no wonder he wasn't aware of the news.
Granted he knew a lot of people were camping out but he didn't realize why! He's been working nonstop since he arrived and usually gets the gossip from his friends and roommates, none of which have arrived yet.
"What are you going to do? You mentioned the temp dorm you were given isn't going well." Her frown grows twice in size at the mention. "Yeah. For now I guess I'm camping. Not that I want to. But all my other options and plans backfired."
He gave a sympathetic smile, tapping his finger on the table for a moment. "I could offer you a slight discount for the basic camping gear set here at the store?" Immediately Shishiki raises an eyebrow. "Why the hell do you have camping gear here?" Granted this was a weird school, with a lot of weird people.
Compared to everything else she's seen so far, it didn't seem so far fetched especially with how the last few days have been. But again, camping gear? Jordan saw her look, biting back a laugh as he stood up to find the necessities.
"We got a hiking club, courses dedicated with survival in the wild, and some classes do field trips or labs into the various environments on the island. When it comes to this school you Have to be prepared." He had a good point.
That didn't mean she had to like it when he returned with a giant bag packed and loaded with various survival gear alongside camping tools. "This is the cheapest set we sell at 4500 poke. I add in my store discount benefits and it's 2700 poke." It wasn't a bad deal.
If anything it was a great bargain especially since he was throwing her a bone and using his own discount to help her out. "Are you sure? You don't have to do this." Still she felt bad. He shouldn't be using his work bonus for her. But he stopped any retorting protest with his hand.
"Consider this a cheer up package for all the crap you've gone through. Plus you're the only person who's shown up the last week that hasn't been a snooty bitch or tyrannical grump. I'll take you as a customer any day."
He's already ringing it up, not giving her any other choice but to pay for it at the discounted price. She smiles, extremely grateful. "Thank you so much." Jordan grin grows as she takes the gear.
"Smiles and interesting gossip is all the payment I need. I wish you the best of luck." Shishiki was most definitely going to need it at this rate. At least she knew she had one ally in this crazy school.
