N.A.T.U
Chapter 8
Author Notes: It's been some time(blame school for me being so tired and scatter brained) so I figured that with what little energy I have left i will be uploading what few chapters I have left stored away~
But fear not, Sen and I are still talking about plans and made improv scenes of what we can do for this series. Like with everything else however...its going to take time. Please bare with me. So with that I do not own Pokemon.
3rd P.O.V
"Hoooooneeyyyyy I'm home~" Shishiki took a long deep breath before jumping into her bed, happy as could be. "And mama's here to stay~ Right Labunni?" Her pokemon hops all around, feeling just as happy. After struggling for almost a week, things were finally falling into place.
She had money, some new pokemon, her school supplies and now a place to safely sleep as well as store her belongings. "Fingers crossed we don't get another bitchy bimbo for a roommate." The both of them scrunched their faces at the thought. Still, the freshman was not going to drop her guard.
Things may be looking up, but life was a rollercoaster. And she still hasn't forgotten the fact that she ran into that absol a few days back. She couldn't help shuddering as she recalled it pointedly staring at her. In general, such behavior wasn't normal from any sort of pokemon.
But it was especially bad considering it was an absol. It was seriously a bad omen to run across one, so she had to be cautious. Still she didn't want to just sit in her bed, no matter how badly she longed to just lay there.
Sadly there were necessary tasks that were not yet checked off her to-do list. Her fingers brushed through her pokemon's fur, pondering. "Hmm...we still have time before classes officially start. Let's put our belongings away before trying our hand one last time at mapping out the school."
Though she really didn't have too much motivation to really leave, her desire to get things properly situated encourage her to leave. "Let's go Labunni." Hopping onto her shoulder, rabbit and trainer open the door to the hallway.
"Eeeek! Get away!" Only to stifle a giggle as her various classmates seemed to be struggling as there still were some joltiks roaming around. "Back-back you parasites!" Shishiki could only shake her head as she closes the door.
Humming a little tune as she completely ignores the various students battle against the electric bugs. Been there and done that-but with more fire and the little pokemon squeaking away in fright. They knew very well not to go anywhere near her.
Digging into her bag, two very important items were brought out. "Now where is-aha~" The first being her schedule, which had the five or so classes she was going to be taking for the semester. If Shishiki was being honest with herself she wasn't too sure what to do for a major.
Like many freshman there were endless possibilities but very little direction. So she figured that at least this year she could pick classes that held some interest for her and go from there. At the very least she'd be less likely to rip her hair out(anymore than she already did up to this point.)
Botany-Lurantis Green House-Teacher: Professor Ivy
Dietary Nutrition- Room 203, Hoenn Building-Teacher: Whitney
Pokemon Types 101-Room 111, Kanto Building-Teacher: Ms: Catrius
Genetics and Mutations-Room 45, Johto Building-Teacher: Mr. Snagro
Pokemon Myths and Legends-Room 368, Sinnoh Building-Teacher: Ms. Hale
"Well it's no wonder I couldn't find any of my classes before..." Now that she had a clearer mind and was able to look through her schedule, she was worried about how she was going to make it to each class in the time limit given.
There was approximately a ten minute interval between sessions. "Maybe there are some shortcuts on the pokedex map?" Shishiki twisted her mouth as she glanced at the schools' hologram. Good news was the fact that she could actually tell what building was where, and the pathways to take.
Bad new was the fact that each room her lessons are pretty far away from each other. "Hey you! Shishiki right!?" Blinking the blonde looks up, watching in confusion as a guy randomly rushes to her side. "Um yeah? And you are?" He doesn't answer right away.
He pants, holding his knees as he takes in some much needed oxygen. "Sorry-not an athlete." The girl could only snort, giving him another minute or two. "That's fine but I still don't know who you are." At that the stranger pouts, holding a hand across his heart.
"You wound me! I'm the vp of the Crimson Carvanahs! Aiden~" Now, she understood and recognized him. The raven haired boy standing in front of her was the one that set up the assistant assembly line while she fished.
She was actually surprised to see him again so soon. "Sorry, it's been crazy the last few days." He offers her a grin, shrugging off the apology. "It's no sweat, first years always the roughest. I just noticed you walking by and wanted to talk."
Immediately his eyes take note of the map. "Let me guess...trying to find your classes?" Now it was her turn to give a grin, though this one was more sheepish as she refuses to meet his gaze.
"Yeah. I tried the actual paper map before and it didn't go well." Aiden snorted, not surprised in the slightest. "Been there, done that am I right? What classes do you have, maybe I can help? In exchange you do another fishing expedition with the club. The guys have been asking about you~"
It wasn't a bad deal. Though she didn't think she'd ever come across so many people obsessed with fishing of all things at school. But had she been awake she would've seen a series of brawls and pokemon battles over some of her catches.
Particularly with some of the more rarer horseas, mareanies and feebas. Aiden was proud to say he did very well at the auction...even if he took some nasty hits. Still, both him and Gail were not going to let such a talented individual out of their sights!
"Um sure? I don't mind. But it'd have to at least be until after the first official week of classes. I finally got a dorm of my own, and would rather get settled before anything else."
It was understandable, and Aiden could only nod. "No problem-wait a dorm of your own? Don't tell me you were part of the Rainbow Dorm Debacle?" At that, while walking towards the greenhouse, Shishiki told him all about her experience.
And it was a good thing that she knew this guy and kinda liked him. Because were it a stranger, she would've smacked them for laughing outright like the way Aiden did just now. She was still very salty over the dorms, and it showed as she gave him a venomous glare.
One so strong, that it was a surprise that she wasn't a poison type trainer. Aiden could only hold up his hands with a wince. "Sorry sorry! I'm done. Still that's one hell of a start to the school year. The suckiest thing I ever went through my first year was having a voltorb blow up in my face..."
At that she could only sigh, exhausted. "Yeah well...something tells me it's going to be even worse with how my classes are positioned. With how far they're apart from each other there's no way i'll get to each room on time." She wasn't an athlete.
Yes she was healthy and could sprint if her life depended on it...But there was no way she could make it to all these different buildings in like ten minutes-who could!? "Oh then I guess you don't know about the teleport systems they have here?" Teleport systems? Shishiki stares at her new friend in confusion.
One that makes him laugh again. "Oh man-you don't know?! Don't they do orientation or whatever for first years?" She could only shrug. "If they did do one, I didn't know, ergo I didn't go. So Teleport systems?" He wraps his arm around her shoulders with a grin.
"Time for a field trip newbie~ Our destination the center square." Shishiki frowned, but refrained from asking questions. Figuring any she had would be answered in due time. Though when they arrived, she...really didn't see what the big deal was.
It was a little area full of benches, trees and a huge bronze statue of the infamous Natu pokemon. It was the one spot that crossed each pathway to the various school buildings, however she didn't see anything that looked like it could teleport her to her classes.
But Aiden gave her a smug smirk, crossing his arms as he purposely leaned against the large statue. "Welcome newbie to N.A.T.U's infamous Natu Pass. The place to rest, battle and one of the hotspot teleport stations." Lifting his arm he gently reached up to tap the statue's beak.
With wide eyes, the freshman watched as the sculpture moved, opening its beak to reveal a machine hidden in its mouth. "So first place on your list is the Lurantis Green house right?" He waits a moment for her to nod in confirmation before waving her over.
"Ok we got two ways to go about this. We got buttons that will send you to generic places. Like say you wanted to head back to our fishing spot at the beach, there's a button for that. Each button can bring you to a different section of the island." It was a bit...hard to understand for her.
So Aiden had to take a step back and clarify. "Each major building and environmental section of the island has a teleportation station just like this. Think of this as a...bus stop. A bus stop is where groups of people gather to get from point A to point B right? Only difference is instead of a bus we're teleporting."
Apparently Natu Pass especially would be packed to the brim with students eager to get to their classes. According to the CC's vice-president, faculty staff and upper classmen organize the students into packs for mass transporting to designated buildings.
"Wouldn't that take forever if there's so many people?" With a yawn, the teen stretches his arms over his head, giving himself a minute before answering. He could see her point. But being here for two years, he could say it didn't take too long.
At least not to him. "Teleportation is an instant thing. And like I said when there's a ton of people it's a mass transport. We press a button for Kanto building we automatically get sent to the first floor of that building. At that point the only rush is getting to the right floor and room."
Even if there were problems, teachers usually gave the students a few minutes extra-especially their first week. Which was a great relief to Shishiki. Not all of her worries went away, but knowing there were shortcuts and easier ways to travel helped.
"Personally I'd recommend you use your own pokemon to teleport so you don't need to worry about it. Still these are handy for field trips or club stuff." Which probably explained how the Crimson Carvanahs were able to bring so much with them from such a long distance away.
She definitely kept that in mind, but until then she needs to figure this out. "Ok. So what about the second way?" She narrows her eyes as he pulls the metallic tongue, bringing forth a holographic keyboard.
Interesting..."If you're lucky and there's no ambush of people waiting to use the transport system you can type specific coordinates for a one way trip." To emphasis, he types in the greenhouse before clicking enter. Within a flash a pokemon came out.
Ironically enough, it was a natu. "To-tootoo-too~" It hopped up and down, fluttering around the pair. "Each station has a designated pokemon to represent where you go. Natus are in charge of sending you to buildings for classes. Alright buddy mind sending me and the little lady to our destination?"
With a little chirp it uses it's power. "Whoa!" In one minute they were at Natu Pass-the next Shishiki found herself surrounded by beautiful flowers and greenery in a large glass building. "Here we are~ Lurantis Greenhouse!" This...was going to take some getting used to.
to be continued
