Chapter 9
Author Notes: And we have at last reached the end of my stockpile for this series...as well as a few other series. So with school and all the other crap going on, please have patience for this may take some time to get typed up. Anyhoo I do not own Pokemon.
3rd P.O.V
She couldn't help yawning as she finally made it back to civilization. "Thank Arceus." Or rather made it back to her dorm. To say Shishiki was exhausted was an understatement. Her legs were on fire, her feet stung, feeling like she was stepping on hot coals instead of grass or stone walkways.
It was a miracle her eyes were still open, that stubbornness was what kept her going. After Aiden was kind enough to teach her the ins and outs of the teleportation system, they went their separate ways so she could further explore the greenhouse.
Beautiful on the outside, absolutely breathtaking on the inside. She stayed in there for an endless amount of time, marveling at the bright floral and pokemon that were deceptively hidden within. However when she eventually left...she found herself not going too far.
As interested as she was in the teleportation system, there was no denying that she really didn't want to deal with the crowds so she stuck around. Hoping to come across a pokemon that could learn teleport and save her the trouble.
Good news was there was a bunch of pokemon all over the place, and some of them were in the teleport category. The bad news of course was...teleporters weren't ones to stick around. And none of them wanted to get captured in her primer balls.
It had to have been a good two hours at least of her hunting before giving up. Than she went about searching for the rest of her classes-something she was supposed to do before getting sidetracked by Aiden. And of course that meant two things...
Tinkering with the teleportation systems-this time without help which was a lot harder than she originally thought. And obviously walking. Lots and lots of walking. Up the stairs, down them, out the building to the stone path, in the grassy fields.
Honestly it was no wonder she was struggling so much in the beginning with finding her way. Hell she was still finding it hard even with the pokedex map app. By the time she managed to find her last classroom in her schedule and mark it down on her pokedex map, the sun had gone down.
Leaving her to try and find the way back alone and in the dark. Granted there were little lights all along the paths so she wasn't completely blind. But when you don't see anyone around and the only sounds you hear are coming from nocturnal pokemon-it doesn't do well on your nerves.
She had a rabbit, a baby rock disguised as a tree, and a purple jellyfish...as tempted as she was to get some new pokemon, her priority was the teleporters. And with her terrible on and off streak of luck she ran out of balls trying to get one.
The worst part was just how close she was with the majority of those catches. Always at least two shakes, some borderline three-only to poof and vanish. Fortunately she had more back in her dorm but it still left her bitter knowing she wasted so many.
There were a ton of them on the ground and of course she picked them up-she wasn't one to litter, but they were one time use items. The power that allowed her to catch a pokemon was gone. No more than a pretty paperweight.
"Maybe they have a recycling bin for these." Her thoughts drifted to her grandmother's friend Din then. The man was a pokeball crafter that loved recycling. Made all sorts of cool designed pokeballs out of anything and everything.
Often times even taking old used ones nobody wanted or left on the ground, making them like new. Man did she wish he was here right now. He even gave her discounts when she came because of her grandma. "Oh well...at least something came out of this. Right Labunnie?"
Her partner gave a quiet yawn in response, absolutely exhausted, much like the rest of her little team of three. They were all due to get some shut eye. Priority should technically be food first since they were all starving too.
But frankly Shishiki didn't want to try and use what mental energy she had left to try and find the cafeteria or one of the little restaurants around the dorms. There were plenty of snacks in her room anyways.
"We're almost there." And what a relief it was when Shishiki made it up to her bedroom floor. Despite it being night time, the dorms were still booming with activity. "Buuurrrrnnn! DIEEEEEE!" Apparently a lot of her fellow schoolmates didn't like bug pokemon.
Or maybe because it was a tick? Or even the fact it evolves into a huge spider? "EEEEEK! Keep it away!" Either way, she wasn't fazed. With a sigh, ignoring the shrieks, she reaches her room. Her fingers searching for her keycard. "I think we're due for some of those leftover cookies before bed."
Her partner perked up at the mention of sweets. Holding back a large yawn, Shishiki twists the knob after scanning her school ID. Only to find her room a royal mess. "HUH!?" All of her snacks, no all of her things were flung across the floor.
"Wh-what!?" This made no sense, the door was locked, requiring her ID to get in. And with the exception of a potential roommate which she didn't even know if she had one at this point since there were no additional bags to be seen...no one else could enter.
Just what the hell- "YOU!" But it didn't take long for her to find out the cause of this tepig-sty! "Tik?" Looks like within the time Shishiki was gone, a stray joltik snuck in and hid away, deciding to play around with her stuff while eating her snacks.
A grave crime indeed. Now she was starting to see why her fellow classmates were actively pursuing the annoying parasites. "Bon bon! Let's go!" Her bonsly(she really needed to work on her nicknames) stomped his feet in anger.
It wasn't just his trainer's treats that were messed with. "Grr!" The joltik shrieked and scurried away in fright. "AFTER IT!" What was supposed to be a peaceful night to relax after a long days worth of walking instead became a mad rush to attack and knock out the electric tick.
A small game of tag commenced. Only for it to hide away in one of her dresser drawers. "No-wait!" Out of all the drawers it chose to go into... "Jol?" It of course picked the one with her extra primer balls.
Not even a second after it disappeared into her furniture, a bright light erupted from the little airway openings. For a moment she stood there, hearing the slight movement of the ball rolling around in the wooden dresser. "Uh oh."
Stunned at what just happened before making her way with a small sigh. "Well then..." Immediately she opened it, shaking of her head as a little finalized ding rang out. "Guess I have a joltik now." She'll worry about this in the morning...she's too tired for this.
Sighing, she goes through her closet, frowning as she rummages through what little snacks that remained. "Here guys." Stumbling onto her bed, she flops her body onto the mattress while her pokemon quietly munched on the treats before joining her.
"Night!" Together the little group fall asleep in a matter of moments. Even her newly acquired joltik leaves the pokeball it just accidently got caught in so it could join in the snuggle fest. Shishiki was so tired and down for the count that she doesn't hear her phone vibrate, indicating a very important notification.
to be continued.
Author Notes: And that ladies and gents is it for now. Admittedly this is a bit of a short chapter, but that was due to some serious revision with this chapter. Me and Sen had an idea that unfortunately had to be scrapped.
Add that with my job and school assignments, editing and updates have seriously slowed down, so my bad there. Doesn't help that this is the last of my NATU story stock so it'll take even more time typing up.
So sorry folks, but it looks like you'll have to wait a bit, but regardless thank you all so much for reading this series. If you like please fav/follow/review as it would mean a crap ton to me! Tchao for now.
