3rd P.O.V

The first day of classes are always the most difficult, for many reasons. You have to get up earlier than you like, make sure you're presentable and deal with the onslaught of traffic just to make it to your class before the bell rings.

Time limits were absolutely terrible...especially when one of your classes are changed last minute. That one specifically put Shishiki is a rotten mood as she all but smashed her face into the desk. Looking and feeling worse for wear because she was so stressed out trying to find her new class.

And it of course was the first one to the start of her day. And in such a haste she skipped breakfast-her pokemon were fed, but she had to forgo if she had any hope of making it. Now here she was...sitting in her seat trying to remember how to breathe.

She was a morning person...but only on her terms, and those terms were not met as she glanced at the clock. Class should've started three minutes ago and the teacher was nowhere to be found. "It's ten minutes and we go right?" And it seems she wasn't the only one to feel annoyance.

"Yep. I'm booking it if he doesn't show up after five." Though there weren't too many students...maybe twelve or so including her, she could hear the short mumbles of agreement of everyone skipping.

Was she even in the right class? Grabbing her bag she takes out her phone. In it was her new schedule, and taking a moment to read the classroom door-yep. Room 411 of Alola building. With her teacher being the infamous pokeartist extraordinaire Tracy Sketchit.

Sure the class- pokemon field research 89 was important for anyone like her who hadn't gone out on an actual journey and yes it was closer-walking wise than professor Ivy's botany class. But...he's late.

"I'm out of here." Faintly she hears the sound of chairs scraping against the floor and the shuffle of feet. "Man what a waste of time." Slowly her vision blackens as footsteps make a beeline for the door. "Just a few minutes." Her eyes close, faint voices reverberating in the darkness.

The darkness began to fade as her body jerked. "Hey-hey! Are you alright?! Can you hear me?" Now she can. With a groan she opens her eyes, blinking as a confused and worried individual looked back at her.

It took a minute for brain to wake up, to comprehend the situation before getting a jolt start. It helped that her newfound joltik decided to give her a little shock. "Mr. Sketchit! Go-good morning sir!" Oh shit this was not how she wanted her first class to go.

"How long was I asleep!?" She was panicking, never-not once has she ever done such a thing. Immediately her eyes go searching for a clock. "Hey calm down, you're not in trouble. I just got here." It's been twenty minutes since the start of class.

And currently they were the only ones in the room. Guess no one wanted to stick around...He sheepishly rubs the back of his head as he takes in the vacant seats along with her. "Guess that's what I get for trying for a last minute sketch in the mountains..."

Tilting her head Shishiki looks at the older man in confusion. "There are mountains here?" A smile forms as he pulls out his pokedex, pulling out the map. "Yes, Mr. Mizuki when he bought and designed this island, wanted as many environmental biomes as possible." There they were.

Mountains, hillsides, beaches, hell there was even a small volcano. How'd she missed that when she went fishing a few days ago? "Unfortunately on my way back I ran into some angry rhyhorns that chased me all the way down the mountain pass that of course has a broken teleporter currently."

Glad to see she wasn't the only one with rotten luck and has been running ragged. "Still I'm so sorry I'm late...since you're the only one here I'll take your name down as a sort of extra credit and let you go." It was a nice gesture.

But...she was already here. "Can I at least have the syllabus and a basic rundown of what this class is? When I got the memo saying I needed to take this class, it didn't really go into detail as to what it's for." His eyes light up, momentarily shocking her.

Guess he was expecting her to dash right on out of here like the rest of her classmates. "Of course! Just a second." The older male nearly trips over one of the chairs to reach his desk, his floundering making her wince.

He took a real good hit to the shin doing that. "Now where is i-aha~ Here we go." It was only a few sheets stapled together, but it would have everything from the teacher's contact information to the due dates for important assignments.

It essentially was what was going to help her keep track of all her projects and test dates. "So pokemon field research 89 is more or less an on hands class that focuses on observing and researching pokemon, hence the name."

His hand extends, in it a black and white journal. "Basically what I want is for you to explore the island, and pokewatch, making your own personal, handmade pokedex." That...actually sounded pretty cool. A bit scary considering some of the pokemon out there but still cool.

"I'm thinking maybe five pokemon entries a week? Everything from type, habits you see, favorite and undesired foods, interactivities between other pokemon, write it down and if your artistic add some drawings or take pictures of your observations." A small hum escapes him as he starts pacing.

His brows furrowed in thought. "Maybe every Friday, we'll have the class come together and we'll do discussions on some the pokemon that caught your attention. But other than that you don't have to come in. I was hoping to do introductions and talk about it with the rest of the class...but what can you do."

All Shishiki could do was shrug. She probably would've still stayed if she didn't fall asleep, if for nothing else than to catch her breath and try to figure out the route to her next class. Still this was nice. And seemed pretty easy enough.

But her lips form a frown as she looks at the list of tasks. "Sir? What about the names of these big assignments?" They all practically said the same thing, show and submit...with various dates scattered throughout the semester. No tests from the looks of it.

"Ah ok. So, you know how I just said maybe you and the rest of class should do five entries a week?" She nodded her head, understanding that much. Not really too sure how to feel about the smile forming on his face.

His finger taps the journal. "Well, this class is sorta a safer experience to the journeys trainers take. So I want you to not just observe, but try to catch them too." Ah...there it is. The actual challenge for students who had no real intention of interacting with pokemon.

Not really a problem for her...she's already caught a few pokemon before the semester even started so a good head start but that just raises a question. Though it looks like it would have to wait since Mr. Sketchit wasn't done yet with his explanation.

"Show and submit is basically you picking a pokemon that you caught to show the class as well as handing in what you have so far in your journals. You'll be graded on the information you put down. But it also will act as a journal, recording your feelings and experiences out there."

Compared to other classes this sounded like a cake walk. "Sir? I do have a question on that." She could see his eyes glittering in excitement. "Yes?" Her joltik took that moment to hop onto her shoulder.

Wait when did it get out of its ball? "Before this semester started I caught a couple pokemon already. Can I make them part of the entries? Or would they not count since I didn't really observe them before catching them?" It was a good question.

One that really didn't take him long to answer. "The school rules indicate that no matter what all students must have at least one registered pokemon coming in with them. So no matter what I was going to count any caught pokemon as an entry." Nice, that's four official entries already.

Didn't count...all of the little fishy friends she made over in the Crimson Carvanas club. "I will say that for any pokemon you had before class, instead of observations, write about how you encountered them, where, how you caught them, and if they've changed their initial personality over time."

That sounded more than doable. And it seemed her little electric tick pokemon was just as eager to get started as it leaped on the journal, hopping up and down. "What an energetic little friend you have there. Is that your pokemon partner?" Immediately she shakes her head.

"No, that's why I asked. This past week in prep for classes has been nothing but a rollercoaster of instances and emotions. I actually accidently caught this joltik when it ate all of my snacks in my dorm. It crawled into my dresser and without meaning to collided with one of my premier balls." He laughs.

Not malicious, thankfully enough, but it was like when she told Jordan stories. Heartfelt and incredulous. "If that's just one instance of the adventures you've had so far, then I can't wait for the rest of your submissions. I don't think I ever got your name miss?" One class down without issue.

"I'm Shishiki sir!" Only four more to go. "Please, you don't need to call me sir. I'm not as uptight as some of the other teachers here. Feel free to call me Tracy, but if you have the need to be formal, Mr. Sketchit or Professor works as well."

to be continued

We're done boys and girls and though we don't see too too much of him I love tracy. I've always loved the fact that he's a chill artist and I am so happy i chose him to make a teacher...now if only Sen could accept some of my other teachers-but that's an issue to deal with another day.

Ahem, but I am wrapping this up. Guys thank you all so much for reading, if you like the story so far please feel free to fav/follow/review as the support means so much to us. We'll see you next time. Tchao for now!
