April surprises Jackson with a gift.

Hearing a knock at the door, Jackson jumped up to answer it - already knowing who it more than likely was. He was greeted by the familiar sight of his ex-wife, as he let April step past him and wait inside the apartment.

"Hey, she's all ready. Harriet!" Jackson called, as his daughter made her way out of the bedroom and beamed when she saw her mom's face.

"Mommy!

"Hey, bug. You all ready to go?" April asked, and Harriet nodded in response, "Alright. I'll bring her back Monday. You gonna give daddy a hug?"

Jackson immediately picked their daughter up for a hug and a kiss, and they exchanged 'I love you's, before he placed her feet back down on the hard wood floor.

She couldn't help but smile at the exchange. Even if they were no longer together and she was still getting to grips with life in Boston herself, she was happy that she'd agreed to make the move. Jackson deserved to see Harriet as much as possible and she couldn't imagine the alternative where she'd stayed in Seattle - especially after seeing how it had affected Sofia.

As the duo got ready to leave, April paused for a moment, turning back around, "Oh, I almost forgot. I got you something."

He frowned slightly in confusion. He hadn't expected her to get him anything - she'd already uprooted her life for him and that was the greatest gift he could've asked for. If anything, he probably should've been the one buying gifts and trying to make it up to her.

It wasn't until April pulled out a yellow pencil with a pink eraser at the end that he finally clocked on.

"It's a new lucky pencil," She beamed, although was clearly trying to hold back a laugh, "Thought it might be useful."

"Haha, very funny." He couldn't help but roll his eyes, although he was clearly amused by the gesture, too. His green eyes squinted as he accepted the pencil and held it up as if to examine it, "How do I know it's even lucky?"

"If you must know, I asked our daughter to wave her magic wand at it when she was playing princesses, so I'd say its pretty legitimate."

"Oh, well in that case, it has to be lucky. Wouldn't want her to think I'm questioning her wish-granting skills."

She finally let out the laugh that she'd been holding in, before adding, "Okay, now I really should get going. I'll see you."

It almost felt like a dream to be in this position with April again for the first time in years. To be able to kiss her and hold her, and show her just how important she still was to him. There'd been a time when he'd thought that they would never get that opportunity again, and yet here they were, together in a new city. It was like deja vu, in the very best way.

"I knew that lucky pencil would come in handy," He half-joked between kisses, her still-clothed body straddling him in the middle of the couch.

She'd been so caught up in the heat of the moment that it almost forced her back to reality, causing a laugh to bubble in her throat. "Shut up," She mumbled, swatting him gently, "We should probably move though...Harriet..."

"Right, yeah."

April got up first, making her way towards the bedroom seductively. He just stared at her in disbelief for a moment, trying to wrap his head around the fact that this was his life - that this was the start of them getting another shot. The only other shot that they'd ever need.

"You know, if you hurry up, I might be able to make use of my own wish-granting skills..." April stated with a smirk, biting down on her lip.

It finally caused him to move, making his way towards her and picking her up effortlessly as he did so, causing her to let out a squeal, "I'm about to hold you to that."

Maybe it wasn't the lucky pencil's doing - maybe the universe just had his back for once, but he couldn't deny that he felt like the luckiest guy in the world as he made love to her that night, and woke up with her sleeping soundly in his arms.
