Chapter 5
The Doctor began to scan me again with this device. It made a weird buzzing sound. Then he stopped to observe the object that he held in his hands "That's not possible!" he says. "What's not possible and what is that interesting object?" i ask him "It's a sonic screwdriver handy little things, forgive me but you look very much like a friend of mine!" he informs me as he places the object back in his jacket pocket "What is your name?".
"I'm Professor Valerie Frizzle!" i answer to him confidently, "Tell me Valerie, where are you from and what brings you here to the Rings of Akhaten and how did you get here?" The Doctor asks me in a serious voice. "Oh i'm from Earth as you might have guessed and i was just exploring until i bumped into your friend..." i begin to tell him. "Clara? Oh my you've seen her? Which direction did she go? I had my back turned then the next thing i know she was gone!" he yells in excitement.
I inform him that i had lost site of her too but pointed in the direction where i thought she had gone. "Oh and one more thing" i begin to tell The Doctor "She was following a little girl", the Doctor looked at me in concern "A little girl?" he answered as he eye brows lifted. "Right! Well we have no time to lose! Come Riv…..ah Valerie!" The Doctor shouts towards me as he disappeared into the crowd.
I had completely lost site of this mysterious man who calls himself "The Doctor", who was this man and wanted to know more! Why do i get the feeling he might know something about my past. Have i bumped into the key that might lead me to knowing who i really am? I wonder who this River Song person is anyway? Something to google and investigate later!
Time passed as i continued to wander the market streets looking for The Doctor and Clara. My brain couldn't stop buzzing, i needed a distraction. I kept my eyes peeled for that little girl in the red robe who Clara was following but there was no sign of her either. The sounds of the market where getting quieter and i began to notice all its visitors heading towards an arena type place. Some of them dressed exquisitely.
Being the curious women i am i decided to follow them. I came to the entrance and found it strange that there was no one on the door taking tickets or checking for ID. I wandered in and noticed that it was a half arena sitting on a cliff facing a gigantic firey star or planet as some might call it that was surrounded by an asteroid belt. This was getting more and more interesting by the minute.
I managed to find myself a seat between a sparkly violet skinned person and an elf like being who kindly offered me a seat beside them. I thanked them and as they spoke to me, strangely enough i was able to understand them. They seemed nice enough. "Hello, and where are you from" had been translated within the conversation but before i could answer them and return the question also to ask them what was going to happen, the show was about to begin.
Suddenly, clapping was heard and i look towards a circular looking podium at the edge of the cliff. To my amazement a person was hearding towards it and guess who it was! The little girl in the red robe who passed me earlier and who Clara was looking for. I stood up wanted to jump for joy that i had found her but the sparkly violet skinned alien beside me quickly pulled me down back into my seat and explained that "The Queen of Years" was about to sing. "The Queen of Years?" i asked her in shock. The alien nodded. That would explained the golden crown she had on her head!
I remained slient and shocked as i looked towards the girl in the red robe. "You mean?" i quietly say to the sparkly violet skinned alien "Yep, this is Merry Gejelh, our Queen of Akhaten or the Queen of Years!" she or it replies to me. I was red in the face as i stared out towards the star. Then from the corner of my eye i notice Merry look over her shoulder towards the crowd looking a little unsure. She seemed nervous, who was she looking for?. Could this be why she was running away?.
Merry then quickly turned back towards the firey star and suddenly i hear the most beautiful sounding voice coming from her young mouth! The voice sounded magical & heavenly! I closed my eyes, just to take it all in.

Suddenly the singing stopped and screaming begin to occur. The girl in the red robe was being pulled towards the angry looking star with some sort of force field! Everyone in the crowd gasped and the next thing i knew i saw The Doctor and Clara immerging from the crowd and running towards where Merry had been standing. The Doctor was using his what was it Sonic Screwdiver and what seemed like instructing Clara on what to do. What were they going to do?.
The crowd in the benches all stood up in shock and horror with the event that was currently happening. Obviously this was not mean't to happen!. I got up too as i had lot site of the Doctor and Clara because those around me were blocking my view. I looked back towards the podium and noticed the Doctor and Clara had gone AGAIN! "Not again!" i mumbled to myself, however i was not going to give up on finding them, i also wanted to help.
So i left my seat and began to weave through the crowd to get out of the benches and out of the arena. As i ran towards the exit, i was then stopped by a gentlemen in a red robe and staff in fact two of them!. They looked like Merry's royal guards "Excuse me gentleman, may i pass?" i firmly asked them, "No madam, we are not letting anyone pass until the Queen of Years is safely returned!" one of them informs me.
The Doctor and Clara must have slipped past them without them knowing! There was no way they were going to budge! Until one of them whispers into ones ear. I look at them seriously but with a smile "Please, please let me through! I might be able to save your Queen!" i tell them. Then in seconds the two royal guards step to the side to allow me to pass. I wonder what the change of heart was?.
"Thank you so very much gentleman!" i say to them as i bow my head towards them, "Please bring her back safe and unharmed Professor Song!" they both informed me sharply. I nodded with a guaranteed but nervous smile. Again i was called Professor Song!. This was beginning to really annoy me and really made me curious to find out who this Professor River Song is!. One thing i do know is that she is married to The Doctor. One i return to MMB i'll see if i can search her up.
I ran through the market and there was no sign The Doctor and Clara however there was a Police Telephone Box that seemed a little out of place!. The market was deserted. Then i got this sudden idea in my head. Why don't i jump on to MMB and fly towards where Merry was being taken too!. Yes! What a great idea i had!. This sudden erge of adventure was upon me! I might be able to track The Doctor and Clara's whereabouts too. "Great idea Valerie!" i say out loud as i make my way back towards MMB.
"Hello MMB, did you miss me?" i sweetly say to MMB as i approached it. It came alive as i spoke to to it, it juggled and made a toot of its horn. I climbed aboard and before we rocketed off, i accessed MMB's computer's intercom on the console asking it the burning question i have had since we landed on this planet (it had a siri like app installed like on the Apple Iphones & Ipads back on Earth). "MMB Intercom, show me who Professor River Song is!" i ask it calmly.
A small projected screen appeared infront of me with coloured lights and an eyeglass. It was loading...whilest i waited, i look at my self in one of MMB revision mirrors. Could there really be someone out there who looks exacly like me?. "BING, BONG, Here's what i found about Professor River Song!" the voice's intercom announced. I took a deep breath and then layed my eyes towards the projected screen "No, no it cannot be!" i say underneath my breath "This women! She's...
Authors Note: Merry's Song is called the "Long Song" or as the Eleventh Doctor calls it "Lullaby Without End" heard during Episode 8 of Season 7 of Doctor Who. The Tardis makes a cameo in this chapter! Also i chucked in a reference of Apple Iphones and Ipads to sound that this story does in fact take place during the late 2010's or the early 2020's. As for Valerie this would make her a bit older then she was back in the mid 90's when orginal series of The Magic School Bus (The TV version) takes place.
