Cindy spent the day in her room in a state of frustration and confusion. Either busy with homework or her favorite hobbies, all the while thinking of a way to get Jimmy back to normal. She found herself dreaming of the times when Jimmy had shown his true feelings for her.
Libby was in her room thinking in disgust about Timmy's attempts to win Cindy's heart. She could see right through Timmy's intentions and felt that he was just trying to take advantage of the situation. Throughout the day, she started writing new music, and also occupied herself with other things just to avoid her sadness over Sheen's disappearance; the more she remembered the moments of how funny and so cute he was, the more the stifled tears formed in her eyes, she wished he could be found even if she was willing to talk about his hero Ultra Lord for 24 hours.
Nick spent his day mostly detached from the situation. He found the drama between Cindy, Timmy, and Jimmy to be tedious and uninteresting. Instead, he focused on his own interests, occasionally checking in with Betty, but overall, he kept his distance from the group's ongoing conflicts.
Betty was torn between her feelings for Nick and her admiration for Jimmy. She noticed how Jimmy, despite his current state, still had a certain charm that Nick lacked. This internal conflict made her day exhausting, as she kept replaying moments in her head where Jimmy's kindness had shone. She tried to distract herself with schoolwork, and her own interests, but she found it difficult to concentrate.
Timmy returned home, feeling a mixture of frustration and doubt. He couldn't shake the odd moments when Cindy seemed indifferent to his attempts to get her attention. He kept thinking about how Cindy was focused on Jimmy, and he remembered the day he first took her on his adventures. She had been a little impressed by him back then because he cared about her. He compared her to the Cindy of today who was completely different.
Jimmy spent the rest of his day working on a good invention to deal with something expected after the chaos he caused. Sometimes he remembers if there was someone who made fun of him before and did not get punished, but no, he taught everyone who wronged him a lesson.
Next day
Cindy woke up with a heavy heart, the weight of frustration pressing down on her. She decided to lock herself in her room, unable to face the outside world. All day, she was just distracted, consumed by memories of her best moments with Jimmy. She thought about the times he made her laugh, the way he surprised her with his inventions, and she couldn't help but wonder if there was a real chance that her Boyfriend would ever return to normal. Doubt gnawed at her, but she held on to hope that there was a way to bring him back.
Libby decided to spend the day enjoying her hobbies and the outdoors. She went for a walk in the park, listened to her favorite music, and did some shopping. Throughout the day, she tried to call Cindy several times, hoping to convince her to spend the day together like they usually do. However, each time, Cindy didn't answer, and Libby knew that her friend just needed some time alone.
In the afternoon, Libby called Cindy again.
"Finally!. hey Cindy, how about we go to the mall? Just to get your mind off things for a bit" Libby suggested.
"I appreciate that, Libby, but I don't feel like doing anything today" Cindy replied, her voice heavy with emotion.
Libby frowned "Okay, but promise me you'll let me know if you change your mind or need anything"
"I will. Thanks, Libby" Cindy said, grateful for her friend's support and sighing in frustration as she lay on her bed.
Nick spent his day snowboarding and running errands on his own. Avoiding some annoying boys who wanted to hang out with him, he enjoyed the thrill of the slopes and the sense of freedom that came with it. And think happily,...Cool, And because of the chaos that is Neutron, there might be no school for a week or two, or maybe even a month...
And yes, school was cancelled for everyone, some workers started repairing all damage that Jimmy had caused, and in evening there was an angry crowd gathering on their way to Jimmy's house, that's what he expected.
6:15 p.m. Nick decided to take Betty for a walk, hoping to lift her spirits and spend some quality time together. They found a nice spot by the lake, and Nick set up a cozy picnic with all of Betty's favorite foods.
As they ate, Nick noticed Betty seemed distracted.
"thoughts?" Nick asked, handing her a sandwich.
Betty smiled weakly, accepting the food "Oh, nothing much. Just thinking about school and stuff"
"Neutron brags about his big head and then it's a result of danger, always!, I think it would be better to throw him and his family out of town" Nick.
"You know he doesn't mean to cause danger, well maybe just this once, No!. if his evil clone hadn't taken control of him he wouldn't do anything dangerous" Betty
Nick leaned on his elbows "Whether it's him or his evil clone, Huh, he has to be prepared to face the angry crowd, have you heard about that?"
"Wait, This is not a joke, right?" Betty's eyes widened and she said in shock.
Cindy stayed in her room reading manga. She had to somehow avoid thinking about Jimmy for a little while.. she heard a commotion outside. Curious, she went to her window and saw an angry crowd gathering in front of Jimmy's house. People were shouting and throwing rocks at the windows and door, venting their frustration at the chaos Jimmy had caused. Cindy's heart ached; despite everything, she couldn't bring herself to join the crowd. She watched helplessly as the situation escalated.
Hugh Neutron stepped outside first, his usual goofy smile plastered on his face. He raised his hands in an attempt to calm the crowd.
"Now, now, folks! Let's all calm down," Hugh said, his voice cheerful. "Before we get into the subject, Did you know that ducks have three eyelids? Fascinating, right?"
The crowd looked confused, their anger momentarily diffused by Hugh's odd comment. Judy Neutron followed her husband, her expression stern and determined.
Cindy slapped her forehead and thought,...Ohh, Mr. Neutron, is this always going to work?...
"Everyone, please, listen to us," Judy said, her voice firm. "Jimmy may have caused some trouble, but he's a genius. He's probably working on a solution as we speak"
A neighbor, Mr. Taylor, came forward, waving his fist "Your son destroyed a school, this time! We demand answers!"
Hugh nodded, still smiling "I understand, Mr. Tiller. But, you see, Jimmy's intentions are always good. Like that time he tried to make everyone faster with those Hyper-Run sneakers!"
Someone from the crowd shouted "This caused everyone to bump into each other! Don't change the position, and we don't want a solution from your stupid son, We want a fine"
"Details, details" Hugh waved dismissively "But think of the potential! Just like how ducks can run on land and swim in water. They're amazing creatures"
Judy put her hand on Hugh's shoulder, gently pushing him aside "What my husband is trying to say is that Jimmy is working on fixing everything. I promise you this is the last time"
Betty tried to focus on the present and enjoy her time with Nick, but her mind kept drifting back to Jimmy. She couldn't help but compare Nick to Jimmy, noticing the differences in their personalities and how Jimmy always seemed to have a special way of making her feel important.
As the evening progressed, Nick and Betty talked more about their interests and plans.
"So, what are you thinking about doing this weekend?" Nick asked, trying to keep the conversation light.
Betty shrugged, trying to stay engaged "I'm not sure yet. Maybe just relax and catch up on some reading"
Nick "Why? There are more fun things to do, let me guess. You're tired of guys staring at you, right?"
Betty shrugged "Maybe, you also don't seem to care about spending time with some fan girls like you used to"
Nick smiled "Not even with boys, they're annoying, I'm sick of it, this makes sense when we are popular."
Betty nodded, but her thoughts were elsewhere. She couldn't stop thinking about Jimmy and how much she admired him. This inner turmoil made it difficult for her to fully engage with Nick, and she wondered if she was being fair to either of them.
From her window, Cindy watched the crowd's anger begin to fade a little. She saw Jimmy's parents defend him with a mixture of humor and logic, and for the first time, she felt a twinge of pride for Jimmy. He always managed to find a way out of trouble, no matter how deep he was in it.
Suddenly, the front door of the Neutron house swung open, and Jimmy stepped out, smiling confidently. He held up a strange-looking device, and the crowd fell silent.
"Good evening, everyone" Jimmy said, his voice calm and assured "I know you're upset, and I understand why. But I assure you, Not only will I fix the damage, I will make Retroville better than ever"
Cindy whispered to herself anxiously "Oh, no, what are you going to do now?"
The crowd murmured, intrigued despite themselves.
Without saying a word, Jimmy pointed a strange-looking device at the crowd and fired.
"No!" Cindy screamed, thinking that whatever Jimmy had fired had killed them.
A soft, pulsing wave emanated from the device, washing over the angry mob. Within moments, the tension in their faces melted away, replaced by confused, vacant expressions.
"Wow, I suddenly feel so... relaxed" Mr. Tiller said, scratching his head.
Another neighbor, Mrs. Jenkins, blinked slowly "What were we so upset about again?"
Hugh clapped his hands "See? Just like ducks! They float on water and let the troubles drift away"
The crowd, now completely docile and smiling like idiots, nodded in agreement and began to disperse, their complaints forgotten.
"Jimmy?" Judy asked in confusion "What did you do to them?"
He smiled proudly, "Nothing, I just wiped their memories so we could get rid of them for free"
"What?!..."
"Don't worry, their entire memory wasn't wiped, just to the point where they don't remember who caused all that chaos" Jimmy folded his arms and reassured his mother.
Judy nodded, her stern expression softening. "Well, that's better than paying compensation" she pointed at the house and shouted "But that doesn't mean you get away with it"
An evil smile appeared on Jimmy's face and he used his device on his mother as well, to escape.
Judy blinked slowly and asked "What were we talking about?"
"that easy?" Cindy watched from her window, stunned. Jimmy had managed to calm the crowd and make them forget their anger with a simple device. But as she looked closer, she noticed something different about him. The confident smile on his face seemed off, almost sinister. A chill ran down her spine as she realized this wasn't the Jimmy she knew. It was his evil clone, still in control.
She sat on her bed, sighing in relief "Well, that must be one of his inventions that made them lose their memories, at least they wouldn't throw him in jail, or worse"
Meanwhile, Nick and Betty were still on their date, oblivious to the chaos back home. Betty tried to focus on Nick, but the thought of Jimmy kept intruding, making her feel conflicted. She forced a smile as Nick told a joke, laughing even as her mind wandered back to the boy genius who always managed to surprise her.
Cindy's bedroom - 1:45 A.M
Late at night, Cindy lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. Sleep eluded her as memories of her and Jimmy flooded her mind. She tossed and turned, trying to find a comfortable position, but it was no use. The memories played out vividly in her mind, each one more bittersweet than the last.
Cindy felt like she was going crazy and tears filled her eyes as she thought about how things had changed. The Jimmy she loved had been trapped, and his evil clone had covered for him. She wondered if there was any way to bring him back, to reclaim the boy who had always been there for her, who had made her laugh and feel special. Then she remembered that he had cancelled his revenge on her for some reason and that gave her some hope and she smiled "If I could get the real Jimmy back, if only!...whether he accepts or not, I'll force him to sell all his inventions that could endanger him. It's enough that everyone knows he's a genius, so I'd better make him stop inventing, if I want to save his life"
She finally drifted off to sleep with a small smile on her face, her mind filled with a hopeful vision of the future.
Cindy walked across the stage to receive her diplomas. The audience cheered, and the faces of their friends and family lit up with pride.
In the audience, Carl was stupidly happy, clapping enthusiastically and shouting, "Keep going, Jimmy! I'm happy for you, my friend"
"Jimmy? Where?" Cindy wondered but before she could look around, a familiar girl caught her attention.
Betty was also there but she seemed very jealous and unable to hide her displeasure. Nick sat next to her, looking very unwell, not as cool as usual. He and Betty seemed to have lost their popularity. He looked very gloomy and regretful for all the times he had ignored Cindy when she had liked him before she had fallen in love with Jimmy. When Cindy saw their faces she couldn't help but smile wickedly, not feeling an ounce of pity for them.
Libby screamed happily and tears formed in her eyes from her pride in her friend "Great, Cin, I've been waiting for this moment with you. I'm so proud of you, and I always knew you and Jimmy belonged together"
Cindy was shocked by what Libby said about Jimmy, and once again before she looked around, what shocked her more was the appearance of a boy wearing an Ultra Lord shirt behind Libby and he continued excitedly "Yeah!, Even though I don't think you deserve to be with my best friend, But I'm impressed too, just for Jimmy's sake"
"Sheen?!, but you?..." Sheen's sudden appearance confused Cindy, and before she could finish her words. suddenly, a boy's arm wrapped around her waist, rested his head on her shoulder, and whispered in her ear in a flirtatious manner "Even though it's been a long time, I can't stop thanking you for saving my life, Baby"
Cindy's eyes widened when she recognized the voice immediately but it was even more attractive. She turned slowly, almost fainting when she recognized him in his arms.
He too was wearing his graduation attire, a wide, almost proud smile on his face, he looked a little taller than her even though his hair style had changed and looked much more handsome.
And from the shock that appeared on her face, she was unable to form her words. Jimmy carried her in his arms and pressed his lips to hers, while the audience cheered happily.
Cindy couldn't believe the moment, the scene changed and she found herself in a cozy house, with Jimmy by her side. He was talking about college and careers and planning their future together. He looked at her with that familiar spark in his eyes, the one that made her heart beat faster and she asked stammered "Jimmy...you...is this really you?"
"Stop kidding, Cindy. I know you're still proud of yourself for saving my life" Jimmy joked.
"save your life?" And She smiled slowly "You mean you're back to normal?, Did...did I get rid of that evil clone of yours?"
"My evil clone? No, why do you think so?" His eyes darkened, and an evil smile spread across his face.
She stuttered "But...I don't even understand what happened...are you really okay?"
He answered "Yes, everything is alright" She felt Jimmy melting and turned into his evil clone right before her eyes. The cozy house around them turned into a nightmarish scene, Full of his most dangerous inventions.
Cindy tried to reach him, but he kept smiling evilly "Who told you I was saved from my evil clone?" He grabbed her trembling arms and said "Accepting you as my girlfriend doesn't mean I've returned to my normal self, free of evil blood" his voice echoing in her mind. The happy future she had envisioned shattered, replaced by fear and despair.
Cindy woke up in a panic, her heart pounding. It was 5:41 a.m. She took a slow breath as she tried to process what was really happening. and looked around her room.
Surprisingly, she still remembers her dream of graduating with Jimmy, but his sudden transformation into his terrifyingly evil clone right before her eyes made her...
Tears streamed down her face as she realized the truth of her dream. She buried her face in her hands and cried bitterly. She felt the hope she had been holding on to become distant and fragile.
"Jimmy...(She crying)...Why did you leave me?" She said and her crying became more bitter.
Cindy hadn't gone back to sleep and it was now 6:55 a.m. She found herself alone in her room. The early morning light was barely filtering through the curtains, casting a dim light across the room. She sat on the edge of her bed, clutching a pillow to her chest, her sobs quiet but heartbreaking, reflecting the pain and confusion that consumed her.
"I...can't!...Neudtron you idiot!" She whispered to herself, her voice broken "I'm supposed to hate you, you stole my first place and you always kept bragging and rubbing your genius in my face, why?...why did you have to make me break down like this?" The questions hung in the air, unanswered and heavy.
Cindy's mind was racing with memories and fears. Images of Jimmy, his smile, his laughter, his brilliant mind, contrasted with the terrifying reality of his current state. Jimmy was now trapped, overwhelmed by his evil clone. The thought was almost too much to bear.
She muttered, "Despite your arrogance, I don't even know how I find you special among all the boys and even more so than Nick who doesn't seem as cool as everyone thinks" Her heart ached with longing and despair "You and your stupid inventions have kept me from you. If you only found me more interesting than your obsession with science, the chances of you getting into trouble would be very slim, and you wouldn't be in this state now"
As the minutes passed, her sobs gradually subsided, leaving her exhausted and drained. Yet, in the wake of her quiet tears, a small glimmer of hope remained. Cindy knew that giving up was not an option. Jimmy was out there somewhere, and she had to find a way to reach him. She felt bad for her friend Libby when she remembered Sheen appearing in her dream "Even your reckless friend wasn't spared your troubles, I'm amazed how the Libby really liked him despite being so active, you're both big idiots"
"Even if you can't be freed from your fucking clone" she whispered in a barely audible voice. She smiled crazily, "One way or another, I'm the one who will be controlling you, from now on" She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She couldn't let despair win. "Even Timmy won't break that, I'm bound to you and I will forever remain so, whether you're yourself or not"
Cindy wiped away her tears and looked out the window at the rising dawn "Who cares about you but me, you pathetic fool?, If I don't intervene, you might lose your life one day"
