Harry, Sirius, and Remus got some guest rooms set up for the others.

"You know these trailers didn't seem to show us much for the plot. What do you think the show's going to be about?" Remus asked.

"Well, it did tell us a lot about the characters," Harry said. "Doesn't that count for something?"

Sirius nodded. "So far, we've got a young girl whose face just screams noble hero. She'll probably be the leader of their little group, or I'll eat Dumbledore's shoe."

"You'd eat it anyway." Remus snorted.

"They'll taste like his lemon drops, Moony! I'm positive!"

Harry got the idea Sirius tried before, in his animagus form, and failed. "The next girl, she's probably a priss. She had that whole concert for herself. Malfoy would drive us all insane with something like that. Blake, on the other hand, I'm not sure."

"I think she's interesting." Remus mused. "Like, a rebel who gave up love to do what was right."

"She did." Harry thought about the trailer for Blake. He wanted to have some better thoughts about her. To see it the way Professor Lupin described. He agreed that Blake was a rebel, but Harry doubted she gave up love. Love that was real stayed, didn't it? If Blake really did love that horned guy, she would never leave him.

But what did Harry know? All he knew of love came from parents that died keeping him alive.

"And Yang?" Remus asked Harry.

Harry grinned. "Oh I liked her. She's a proper Gryffindor."

Remus nodded his head. "I don't know about Yang. She was on some kind of mission when she went to that club. No doubt she's got some issues of her own."

Down in the living room, Ron and Hermione were helping Molly clean up the snacks.

"Oh I hope Yang will take good care of her sister." Molly thought. "If I were gone, I'd want you older boys to look after Ginny."

"What about their father?" Hermione asked.

"And oi! Ginny doesn't need us- she can handle herself!"

"Ronald! You'll look after her, and that's that!" Molly ordered.

"Well Hermione-" Arthur began, putting a hand on Molly's shoulder to reassure her. "-being a single father must be hard. I'm sure as he grieved, he'd be grateful to know that his children took care of each other. It's what all parents want, after all."

In the Black library, Dumbledore, Kingsley, Moody and Tonks were seeing if there was anything related to Roku's curse. As entertaining as the series could be, they didn't want to be stuck in the house for long. Moody in particular believed that the happy nature of the show was meant to draw people in, then keep them there forever. No amount of argument changed his mind. The other three wanted to find some way of ending Roku's plight.

Well sort of. One wasn't getting anywhere. So, surrounded by some of her heroes, Tonks struck up conversation.

"What do you think about those creatures Ruby fought in her trailer?"

"No doubt it is a creature unique to their world," Dumbledore said, thumbing through a tomb of some sort.

"I think I would have stopped fighting a lot sooner if they were here." Kingsley added. "I almost feel sorry for her. Those things came after her, probably expecting an easy meal. Given how she fought, I imagine she is used to fighting them."

"It's not for food. There are always bigger prey." Moody stated. "It's the woods. They could have gone for deer, or even bears if they wanted food. No, Kingsley, if you kept your heart out of your head you would see it. You, girl!"

Tonks perked up. "Yes, Moody?"

"What did those monsters remind you of?" Tonks hesitated. "It's not a difficult question!"

"D-Dementors." Tonks answered. "They reminded me of Dementors."

"Why?" Moody asked.

"It's just- she was all alone. At her mum's grave. If I were a Dementor then that's where I would have gone." Tonks quickly fell into a salute. "Sir."

Moody nodded. He turned to the other men. "So I must disagree with you, Dumbledore, but you're used to that."

"I am."

"I believe we are already fighting those creatures." Moody carried on. "We should only be lucky our's don't have teeth."

Ginny left the bathroom. She came back to the watching area, seeing only Fred and George waiting.

Before sitting, Ginny checked it for any prank. Seeing nothing, Ginny sat.

Fred and George grinned. It took Ron a lot longer to look before he sat.

Ginny sat back on her seat. She hummed Yang's trailer song again.

Fred chuckled. "You really like that song, don't you, Gin?"

"It was a good song," Ginny remarked. "In fact, all the songs were good so far."

"I hope there's more." George said.

"Nothing will be as good as that one." Ginny insisted.

"Think if we asked, Roku could play the music for us?" Fred wondered.

"The songs aren't very long. They might!" George agreed.

It took 20 more minutes for the rest of the party to trickle back in. Molly, Arthur, Hermione, and Ron brought in the snacks. Harry, Sirius, and Remus came as Sirius' dog nose smelled the food. The other four came when retrieved by Ron, who was sent off for trying to eat the snacks early.

"Okay Roku, we're back," Sirius announced.

Roku gave a small yawn, having seemingly taken a little nap. The screen switched on to static. "Alright RWBY Volume 1 Chapter 1 is called Ruby Rose."

"So I was right, and she is the main character?" Hermione asked.

"Yes, you are." Roku replied.

The static disappeared.

A castle-like structure is shown and a woman starts narriating. "Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past." The gems in the castle glowed green before fading.

"A castle? Is this where the show will take place?" Ginny asked.

"Maybe, but it doesn't look as big as Hogwarts," George said.

"Who's the woman speaking?" Ron asked. "Oh no- we got tricked! It's another trailer!"

"She's the narrator, Ron!" Hermione said. "It's a common story telling technique in lots of muggle films! They tell the audience important information to better help them understand the world of the film."

"Not just their world." Dumbledore mused. "I do not think it is too big a claim to say we all enjoy a good story, now and again. Just look at where we are now."

"Man, born from dust was strong, wise, and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world." Silhouettes of a few men rise from the ground before they are surrounded by creatures. "An enevable darkness-creatures of destruction-the creatures of Grimm- set their sights on man and all of his creation. These forces clashed and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void." Darkness engulfs the screen.

"Grimm, huh, so that's what these things are called," Remus said, taking note of the many different kinds of Grimm shown on the screen.

"If there's that many and they're that powerful, it's amazing humanity has survived this long," Kingsley said.

"Like we'll go down without a fight!" Moody roared.

Tonks, Arthur and the teenagers nodding with him.

"However, even the smallest amount of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that will help even the odds." The narrator continued as a small light glowed from the center before brightening to engulf the screen. The light came from a crystal that lowered itself into the hands of man. "This power was appropriately named dust."

"Hey, wait, I thought you said that Dust wouldn't get introduced for a while," Arthur reminded her. "This is the very first episode."

"Oh silly me! It was dust that was introduced in episode one and semblance that was introduced in episode seven," Roku muttered to herself before addressing her audience. "It's almost like being turned off and ignored for decades makes one a bit slow." She raised her voice and if she had eyes, no doubt she would be glaring at Sirius.

"Oi! I was too! Don't go throwing that on me! I'm here now, aren't I?" Sirius excused. "A lot of shit has happened since the Scooby-Doo marathon."

The scene then changes to show men raising swords, shooting lightning out of their hands, and aiming rifles at the creatures of Grimm. A castle appears behind them. "Nature's wrath in hand man lit their way through the darkness. And in the shadows absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly life." The camera then zooms out as man fades but the castle remains. The world of Remnant is seen with three castles along with the first one.

"So this is their world?" Dumbledore noted. It looks so much different than Earth.

"Is it just those four castles that mainly hold civilization?" Tonks asked.

"I will explain, only because it takes a while to explain in the show." Roku told them. "Remember: I want you to learn a lot of this for yourself. There are scattered villages throughout the land as well and the landmass in the lower left it's is own contentite, but it human's don't really count it as a kingdom. And that's all I'm willing to say before anyone asks me why!"

Hermione, Kingsley and Remus quickly shut their mouths. Hermione pouted at being deprived of more knowledge. Ron reminded her Roku said they could learn it themselves, and then Hermione could explain it to them. It perked Hermione up.

"But even the most brilliant of lights will eventually flicker and die." The four castles shone for a brief moment before going out and the map is lowered to show the broken moon. "And when they are gone... darkness will return."

Everyone looked uneased at that.

"That's a downer." Sirius said.

"Hermione, are you sure this is just a narrator?" Ron asked.

"A random voice explaining to the audience the history of the world. Who else could it be?" Hermione retorted.

Roman Torchwick and his men walk down an alley from the shadows. His cigar lights up without him touching it as he and his men walk down the road, scaring nearby civilians as they pass and head towards a shop called From Dusk Till Dawn.

"It's him. The bloke Junior was talking to in Yang's trailer," Moody noticed.

"And those look like some of Junior's men," Tonks added.

"Junior must have loaned these men to him," Kingsley figured.

"But for what?" Harry asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Robbing that shop most likely," Sirius said.

"So you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called 'free world', but take heed... there will be no victory in strength."

"Shows what you know!" Harry shouted.

Ginny turned to Hermione, "I'm with Ron here, this woman has gone past narration. She's definitely talking to someone."

As Roman and his men entered the shop a new voice spoke up.

"But perhaps victory is in the simpler things that you've long forgotten. Things that require a smaller, more honest soul." The camera pans down to a young woman with her hood pulled over her face. She was reading a magazine.

"And now we have a new voice," Arthur said.

"That still doesn't tell us who they are." George told his father.

"Or what they're talking about." Fred added.

"Hey look it's Ruby," Ginny said, forgetting about the narration as she spotted the hooded warrior.

Dumbledore noticed the way the camera panned over to her as the second voice spoke. No doubt this is who he was talking about. An honest soul. Dumbledore looked forward to seeing it.

Roman approaches the elderly shopkeeper as his men look at all the dust on display. Roman flicks some ash off his cigar as he retorachaly asks "Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a dust shop open this late?" At this, one of the henchmen points a gun at the shopkeeper.

"That man is in danger!" Hermione growled. She slammed her fist on the couch. Her fingers flexed, as if her wand were in her hand. "Somebody needs to do something!"

"I wouldn't worry," Harry said. "If Ruby's there then I'm sure he'll be safe."

"She shouldn't go around picking fights!" Molly yelled.

The shopkeeper held up his hands and said in a shaky voice "P-Please. Just take my Lien and leave."

"Lein?" Everyone asked.

"It must be their currency." Hermione reasoned. "If they are there to rob this poor man, he wouldn't give up anything except the money they often demand."

"See?" Ron bumped her arm. "Told you you'd get to figure it out." Ron went back to watching the TV, completely missing Hermione's flushed face.

Roman calmly hushed the man and said "Calm down, we're not here for your money." Then he turned to his men and ordered. "Grab the dust."

"So wait, they want the dust but not the money?" Tonks asked, confused.

"I understand wanting the dust but why not take both?" Kingsley agreed with Tonks.

One of the henchmen opens a case containing several tubes. The group takes one and goes around filling the tubes from the dispenser on the wall. Another one opens another case in front of the shopkeeper. "Crystals," he demanded. "Burn. Uncut." The shopkeeper complied.

"Oh poor dear, he must be terrified," Molly said.

"So long as he complies I'm certain they won't hurt him," Arthur reassured his wife.

"Hey, how come Ruby's not noticed? She could help with that scythe of her's." Ron said.

As another henchman goes for another tube he hears muffled music and spots Ruby over by the magazine rack.

"Constant vigilance!" Moody shouted. "She shouldn't have her music so loud!"

"It's not like she knew the shop was going to get robbed," Tonks defended.

"That's no excuse! She still needs to be more aware of her surroundings!"

The henchmen pulls a sword out and points it in her direction. "Alright put your hands where I can see them," he demanded but was ignored. "Hey I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something."

"Hey, buddy, if you can hear the music it means she can't hear you," Tonks called out.

He turns her around to reveal a confused Ruby Rose wearing headphones. He motions for her to lower them. Ruby complies asking "Yes?"

"I said put your hands in the air, now!" the robber demanded again.

"Are you robbing me?" Ruby asked.

"Ruby needs to be quicker on the draw here," Kingsley said. "Now that Ruby's aware of the situation she needs to act accordingly."

"The bad guy also needs to realize that Ruby is way too calm here," Ginny added.

"Yes!" the henchmen shouted.

Ruby simply narrows her eyes as she goes "Ohhhh."

The teenagers and Tonks snickered at that. Molly meanwhile was biting her lip. She really didn't want Ruby to start any trouble. It would be a shame if both girls went out looking for danger.

As Roman was waiting on his men to finish he heard a "Hey!" followed by a "Hyah!" and the henchmen is shown flying across the screen. Roman just calmly motions another henchmen to deal with Ruby. He goes over to her, pointing his gun while ordering "Freeze!"

"Does that ever work?" Ginny asked the aurors in the room.

"Not often, in my experience." Kingsley answered.

"Eh, sometimes," Tonks said, making a so-so motion with her hand.

"Never really had a chance." Moody grumbled. The wizard gawked at him. "Why tell them to stop when you can stupify them instead?"

Cut to outside the shop where the henchmen is sent flying through the window. Ruby follows behind, the music on her headphones playing even louder. Roman and his men look out the window to see Ruby getting up and unfolding her weapon into it's scythe form. It's here that Roku names the weapon Crescent Rose. Ruby smiles at the thieves before twirling her weapon to the ground and cutting off the music.

"Aww come on! I was really getting into the song," Ginny complained.

George patted her shoulder.

Roman just stares at her for a minute. "Okayyy," he looks at his henchmen who just stood there dumbfounded. "Get her," he orders bluntly.

Sirius laughed. "You just can't find good evil henchmen these days, can you? Should we send Malfoy their way?"

Moody scoffed. "Lucius Malfoy would be about as useful."

"And his son." Harry snorted. It would be funny if Lucius or Malfoy were in this fight, if only to see Ruby beat them up. Any time Malfoy took a punch it was funny. Granted, it would never be as funny as the time Hermione punched him.

It was then Molly noticed something troubling. "Wait Ruby has a scythe, she could possibly kill them!"

"It's a cartoon, Mrs. Weasley. People are not killed in cartoons." Hermione assured her. "No matter the injury they may suffer." It bothered Hermione a lot, growing up. The many times and ways cartoon characters were brutally attacked only to show no evidence of it. She complained to her parents that the cartoons made no sense. Her parents encouraged her to read books instead. So Hermione did. Those were often much more entertaining- even if no one else in her classes agreed.

"And remember what we've seen, Molly." Arthur hugged Molly's side. "She's a capable fighter. She's sure to know how to fight without seriously hurting anyone."

All the henchmen run out of the shop and towards Ruby who spins around on top of her scythe and kicks the first criminal in the face. She gets Crescent Rose from the ground and fires it so she can hit one of the criminals behind her with the but of her weapon, sending him flying. She fires again and brings the side down on another henchmen, dodging the next attacker's gunfire using the speed of her rifle. She gets close enough to him and knocks him into the air, fires upwards so she can follow him and beats him away to Roman's feet.

The wizards cheered.

"See Molly? What did I tell you?" Arthur said.

"Bet that bowler hat bloke really regrets hiring these guys," Sirius laughed.

"You were worth every cent. Truly, you were," Roman grumbles, taking the cigar out of his mouth and dropping it on the street before addressing Ruby. Police sirens could be heard in the background. "Well Red, I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening, and as much as I'd love to stick around," he raised his cane where the bottom opened up revealing a cross grid. Roku's subtitles named it Melodic Cudgel. "I'm afraid this is where we part ways."

"The cane is a gun?!" Arthur asked, surprised.

"Actually, Arthur, that is pretty normal for muggles," Kingsley said. "We see it sometimes when bringing them into Obliviate. They can be very inventive with their weapons."

"Really! Have any been sent to my offices?" Arthur asked.

"No. It's not magical, so we wouldn't have a reason for it." Kingsley reasoned.

"Malfoy keeps his wand in his cane." Moody recalled.

Harry recalled Hagrid's umbrella. It gave Dudley a pig's tail. Maybe Muggles weren't the only ones that could be creative in hiding their weapons.

Roman takes a shot at Ruby, but she fires Crescent Rose on the ground to leap over the blast. When she lands and looks up, Roman has disappeared. She spots him on a nearby building climbing a ladder.

"How did he get there so fast?" Hermione wondered.

Ruby turns to the shopkeeper. "You okay if I go after him?" she asks. The shopkeeper gives an affirmative and Ruby sets off.

"You've done enough fending off the thugs! You don't need to go after him!" Molly scolded.

Sirius was cheering. "Called it! Ruby is the main hero so of course she's going to go after the bad guy."

"But she's just a child! She could get seriously hurt!" Molly argued.

"Oh come off Mum, she'll be fine," Ron said, knowing he and his friends would likely do the same thing in Ruby's position.

"She is still a child! While she is doing the right thing it would be better off to leave it to the professionals!" Molly scolded. She gave her son a harsh glare. She knew her son would like to think himself as the same as her, chasing after villains for a bit of glory. She would keep her children out of the fight for as long as she was able.

He makes it to the roof. Ruby is right behind him. "Hey!" she calls out.

"Not the best at quips." Tonks noted glumly.

"You don't need to be spouting quips to take down criminals!" Moody shouted.

"True, but it makes it more fun," Harry agreed with Tonks.

Roman stops at the edge, but doesn't turn around to face her. "Persistent," he muttered.

"The best ones are," Harry said.

Ruby readies to fight him but a getaway Bullhead rises up and the side hatch opens allowing Roman to step inside.

"So he's already got an exit strategy in place for if the robbery went wrong," Kingsley noted.

Tonks nodded. "This guy doesn't mess around."

Roman turns around and shouts "End of the line, Red." He shows her a red crystal before throwing it at her feet and fires at her.

"Get out of there!" Molly screeched.

However, just before Roman's shot made contact a woman appeared between the blast and Ruby. Roman starts to laugh, thinking he's beaten the girl but stops when the smoke clears and he sees a blond woman in a purple cape holding up a riding crop which casts a shield. An arrow appears on the screen pointing to the riding crop while Roku's subtitles name it The Disciplinary.

"McGonagall!" The students and even Sirius and Remus cried out in surprise.

Dumbledore gave a small chuckle. "I can assure you that is not Minervia. She has darker hair and is older than this woman in the show. Though I won't deny the resemblance is uncanny."

"Yeah, no kidding. She could be her daughter!" Arthur said, also stunned at the resemblance.

"Is that a magic wand she's using?" Hermione asked, noting the weapon.

"No, it looks more like a riding crop," Tonks answered for her.

"And it seems dust is infused with it if that's how she casted that shield," Moody figured.

Ruby looks on as Glynda uses her weapon to summon several streaks of purple at the craft. Roman is thrown around in the back until he's able to reach the cockpit, where a woman in red, her face unseen, is struggling with the controls. "We've got a huntress," he tells her and the two swap places.

"Roku, bring the camera down," Ginny requested. "I can't see this woman's face."

"She won't." Sirius told her. "I tried for ages. Do you know how many times I asked? How many villains in Scooby Doo were just out of frame? She's refused!"

"So we've got a mystery accomplice," Sirius said.

"But why keep it a mystery if she works for him?" Remus wondered.

"He could be working for her," Moody suggested.

Glynda glows purple for a moment and aims a blast above the aircraft, creating a dark storm cloud above it. "The hell...?" Roman muttered, noticing this. With a flick of her wand, large jagged hail started beating down on the craft. One even breaks through the window and would have impaled Roman in the head had he not dodge in time.

Kingsley went wide eyed at this. "So this dust can even manipulate weather to an extent."

"And do you see the way she's using her weapon?" Remus said. "It's almost like how we use our wands."

"Would it even be called a weapon?" Tonks asked. "It's not a weapon like I've ever seen from a Muggle."

"It's almost like a wand!" Ginny said.

"Are we sure it's not McGonagall?" Harry asked.

By now, the mystery woman had made her way to the hanger. Glynda narrows her eyes as the woman's clothing starts lighting up and fires a burst of energy at Glynda. She is able to block it but the flames splatter behind them and glows hot when the enemy raises her hand. Glynda backflips to avoid the explosion.

"So what kind of semblance would this be?" Harry wondered.

"Maybe she can manipulate fire." Ron suggested.

"There might be fire dust sewn into her clothes and she's using her semblance to super charge it or something," Hermione theorized.

"Ruby's also there with a gun. Isn't she going to take some shots or something?" Ginny complained.

"Probably best if she stayed out of that other woman's way," Molly said.

Glynda once again calls upon her semblance to gather the destroyed parts of the roof and uses it to create a large spear. She starts throwing it at the craft but the other woman throws several blasts at it. However it reforms and comes after them again but only hits the side of the jet thanks to a quick aerial lean from Roman. The woman loses her footing for a bit but once she regains it she summons several glowing rings around her that expand and destroy the shards.

"Wow, are semblances that powerful?" Sirius asked.

"This actually looks closer to magic than what we've seen previously," Dumbledore said.

Ruby finally decides to take action and folds Crescent Rose back into it's rifle form, taking several shots at the woman who simply blocks it with her hand. She then creates several blazing circles around her two opponents. Glynda uses her semblance to move Ruby out of the way and is able to roll herself out of the blast radius. She looks back up to see the hatch close and the ship fly away.

Harry slammed his hand against his leg. "Dammit! They got away."

"Still they didn't get all the dust they were probably after," Tonks said.

"And they have all of Junior's henchmen under arrest," Kingsley added.

Ruby gets back up and looks at Glynda. "You're a huntress," she says. Glynda turns to Ruby who was looking awestruck at the woman before her. "Can I have your autograph?" Ruby asks. The scene then cuts to Ruby looking sad as she sits under a bright light in what looks like an interrogation room.

The adults started snickering at Ruby's predicament while the teenagers groaned.

"Don't tell me she's getting in trouble for this?" Ron asked.

"She got into a fight and could have seriously injured herself and several others!" Molly shouted.

"She was defending herself," Harry argued.

"At the shop, yes, but she didn't need to go after their leader. That fight could have ended a lot worse if that woman hadn't shown up," Sirius countered.

"Especially considering how powerful his accomplice is," Moody added.

"I hope you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, young lady." Glynda scolded as she paced around Ruby while holding a tablet in her hands.

"They started it," Ruby defended herself.

"If it were up to me, you'd be sent home... with a pat on the back," Glynda admitted as Ruby perked up thinking she wasn't in trouble. "And a slap on the wrist." Glynda emphasized her point by slapping her crop on the table close to Ruby's hand, emitting a squeak from the girl. "But there is someone here who would like to meet you." Glynda moves out of the way and a man in a green suit enters holding a mug and a plate of cookies.

"Ruby Rose," he said, getting a closer look at the girl. "You have silver eyes."

"Is there something special about her eyes?" Ginny asked.

"That is a rather rare eye color," Arthur said.

"Wait a minute, that's the guy who was talking to the narrator earlier," Hermione noted, having recognized Ozpin's voice.

"Well I'll be, you're right," Remus said.

"Makes me think he's up to something," Moody grumbled.

Ruby stammers for a reply as Ozpin gestures to the tablet in Glynda's hands which shows a video of Ruby fighting the henchmen. "So where did you learn to do this?" He asked her.

"Signal Academy," Ruby answered.

"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" Ozpin asked, surprised.

"Well one teacher in particular," Ruby clarified.

"And clearly he's taught her well. Ruby's a pro with that thing despite being so young," Remus said.

"What is that thing McGonagall's daughter is holding?" One of the twins asked.

"Oh that's called a tablet, it's basically a portable computer," Roku answered.

"How can something that small be a computer," Hermione asked. She's seen one before and those things are huge and have to come in multiple parts.

"This world is pretty advanced," Roku reminded them.

"I see," Ozpin said, setting down the plate of chocolate chip cookies in front of Ruby. She takes a hesitant bite and when she gets no represion starts scarfing the whole plate down.

"She doesn't need to eat so fast." Molly said.

Ron's stomach started growling. "Hey mum, do you think you can make us some biscuits after this episode?"

"We'll see." Molly said.

"It's just that I've only ever seen one other scythe-wielder of that skill before," Ozpin said, looking lost in thought. "A dusty old crow..."

Ruby tried to speak but her mouth was full of cookies.

"Don't talk with your mouth full," Molly scolded.

"Sweetheart, she can't hear you." Her husband reminded her.

Molly flushed a little.

Ruby quickly swallows and wipes the crumbs off her mouth. "Sorry. That's my Uncle Qrow! He's a teacher at Signal," Ruby explained as Ozpin took a sip of his drink. "I used to be complete garbage before he took me under his wing. Now I'm all like," Ruby starts making action noise and poses.

Harry and some of the other adults couldn't help but laugh.

"So I've noticed," Ozpin said, placing his mug on the table and taking the seat across from Ruby. "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?"

"That's a good question. Don't get me wrong, Ruby is skilled, but she's not what you would picture as a heroic badass." Tonks said.

"Not like her sister anyway," Ginny agreed.

"She's plenty of a heroic badass." Harry said thinking back to the grave Ruby visited. The loss of his family helps drive him through his previous fights with Voldemort. Could it be the same for Ruby?

"Well I want to be a huntress," Ruby answered.

"You want to slay monsters," Ozpin asked.

"No she wants to pretend she's the Grim Reaper," Sirius said with an eye roll.

"Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon! You see my sister is starting there this year and she's trying to become a huntress. I'm trying to become a huntress too because I want to help people. And my parents always taught us to help others so I thought, Hey I might as well make a career out of it. I mean the police are alright, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, gosh, you know!" The more Ruby speaks the faster she starts talking up until the end where she kinda flips out and gives the two a wide, crazy smile.

"Merlin, Hermione, and I thought you could talk when we first met," Ron said.

"So she's doing this just to do this," Moody said, surprised but impressed.

"Quite the noble reason indeed," Dumbledore said. No doubt this girl would have been made a Griffindor if she went to Hogwarts.

Glynda and Ozpin studied her. The former looked rather annoyed while the latter looked impressed. "Do you know who I am?" he asked Ruby.

"You're Professor Ozpin," Ruby said. "You're the headmaster of Beacon."

That got Dumbledore's attention. Could this be the character Roku compares him to?

"Hello," Ozpin greeted.

"Nice to meet you," Ruby returned.

"You want to come to my school?" Ozpin inquired.

"More than anything," Ruby admitted.

"Well she is very talented already. Beacon would be honored to have her," Kingsley said.

"Yeah, I'm sure Ozpin's gonna put her name down right now," Remus said.

"Or maybe even do like an internship program," Hermione said, knowing some muggle schools that do that.

Dumbledore gave a silent smile, having a pretty good idea of what his fellow headmaster was planning.

Ozpin looks at Glynda who huffs and gives an eyeroll. He then looks back at Ruby. "Well okay," he said.

"Wait, he's letting her attend now?" Sirius asked.

"That's not all that unheard of, jumping ahead a couple of school years," Remus said.

"Yeah, some muggles tend to do that when a child of a certain age shows intelligence beyond their peers," Hermione explained.

"Thinking about doing something like that at Hogwarts, Headmaster?" Kingsley asked Dumbledore who hummed in thought.

Ron and Harry paled at that. If Hogwarts started letting students skip years no doubt Hermione would be the first on that list. Those two wouldn't last a week at school without her. Not that she would go anyway. Some of the older years didn't like her for how smart she already was and felt more accepted amongst her friends.

Ruby gives a wide eyed smile as Yang appears out of nowhere to give Ruby a hug and the scene transitions to the sisters being on an airship. "Oh I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!" Yang cheered.

"Please stop," Ruby groaned, being crushed by Yang's hug.

Yang lets go of her sister. "But I'm so proud of you."

"Really sis, it was nothing," Ruby deflected.

"Well considering how her sister's acting, I'd say it is pretty incredible," Kingsley said.

"I mean she did catch a group of criminals and almost caught their leader and she's only 15," Tonks agreed.

"Almost caught," Arthur pointed out. "But still Yang does have every reason to be so excited."

"Yeah and the sisters can take classes together," Ginny added. She sometimes wished she'd started school at the same time as her brothers.

"What do you mean? It was incredible," Yang countered. "Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees."

"Bees don't have knees." Molly said, confused.

"It's a Muggle expression, Mrs. Weasley. It's what they say when they're really impressed with someone," Hermione explained.

That didn't make Ruby feel better. "I don't want to be the bee's knees, okay? I don't want to be on any sort of knees. I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees."

"Can completely relate," Harry grumbled as he often wished for the same. He brushed his fingers against his scar noting that it hasn't prickled in a while like it normally does lately. Maybe it has something to do with the time bubble Roku has them in. He'll have to remember to ask the cursed television at a later time.

"What's wrong with you?" Yang asked. "Aren't you excited?"

"Of course I'm excited. I just," Ruby gave a sigh. "I got moved ahead two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything."

"Nice to see she won't get a big head out of this," Remus said.

Sirius nodded. "She seems to be the shy type anyway." He couldn't help but note.

Yang goes to give her sister a one armed hug. "But you are special," she said.

Everyone could nod at that. She was the main protagonist for a reason.

The sisters' attention was caught by what looks like a tv screen showing the news. On the screen was a mugshot of the man Ruby had fought last night. "The robber was led by nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick. If you have any information on his whereabouts please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you Lisa."

"That's convenient. Showing important information on news that they just happen to be there to watch," Moody grumbled.

The screen then cuts to a woman with the banner on the bottom naming her Lisa Lavender. "Thank you Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony." A picture appeared near Lisa's head showing people with animal ears holding up signs that read "WE'RE NOT ANIMALS!" It then fades to another image of what looks like a bloody wolf head with three scratch marks all down it's face.

"Faunus?" Molly questioned.

"Those people look like they have animal traits on their head just like Adam," Kingsley pointed out. "Maybe that's what they're called."

"The once peaceful organization has now disrupted-" the news feed cuts off as a hologram of Glynda replaces it.

"Aww come on! I wanted to know more," Hermione complained.

"Hello and welcome to Beacon," Glynda greeted the passengers.

"Who's that?" Yang asks Ruby.

"My name is Glynda Goodwitch," Glynda introduced.

"Oh," Yang said.

"Ask and you shall receive," Kingsley jokes.

"Hold on, Glynda Goodwitch?" Hermione questioned.

"Wasn't that somebody in a movie?" Harry asked.

"Yes! It's- it's Glinda! The Good Witch of the North!" Hermione recalled. "I wonder..." Hermione reached for her bag. She pulled out a piece of parchment. "Ruby. Wears a cloak, fights a wolf shaped beast, remind you of anyone?"

Harry tried. He really, really tried. "Sorry, Hermione, I didn't read a lot of them as a kid."

Hermione huffed. "Professors, do any of you know Muggle fairy tales?"

"I know of a few." Remus sat up. "The one you're describing sounds like Red Riding Hood." He was very familiar with the tale.

"Yes. And Weiss- dresses in all white? Her name even meant white!"

"And the soldier she fought, he could be the Huntsman that was supposed to rip out of her heart." Remus reasoned. "Snow White. But what about the other two? I don't recall a fairytale where the girl's hair catches fire."

"Maybe Junior's got a part in it?" Tonks reminded them.

"Junior...Junior..." Hermione pondered.

Remus snapped his fingers. "Or, a baby?"

Hermione gasped. "Baby! Yang is Goldilocks! Her hair isn't on fire, but they are golden!"

"That still doesn't explain Blake." Ginny reminded them. "Or who any of these people are."

"Muggle fairy tales!" Hermione explained. "But who could Blake be?"

"Let's think about her trailer." Remus began. "She is a rebel fighter-"

"No, we can't base it off of that. Snow White never used a sword." Hermione shook her head.

"Alright. A good point."

Sirius snickered. "Giving out points in the summertime, Professor Moony?" Remus rolled his eyes.

"She stands up against wrongdoing. She fights a man, also her lover? Would that count?" Hermione scribbled on the parchment. "What could it be?"

There was another few minutes of debate with Hermione and Remus. It was a comment from Harry about that guy she fought. 'Adam'. If Junior was important to Goldilocks, was Adam important to anyone? That got Hermione and Remus to shut up.

Oh. Of course it was that simple.

Belle, and her beast. After Hermione explained the fairytale, having a blush that none of the wizards understood, Tonks said she hoped that didn't mean Blake would get back with that guy. He was a total scumbag.

They'd wanted to talk for longer about the other characters. The others complained that they wanted to get on with the show instead of just talking about it. Remus conceded. Hermione didn't. Remus pointed out that they would get more clues as time went on in the show, and come to their own conclusions later.

It made Hermione very upset. She sat in her seat, pouting, as Roku started the show back up.

"You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it's our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." Glynda finishes her speech and her hologram disappears allowing the students to see out the window.

"Is their world really so peaceful, that their elite warriors need to fight only those Grimm?" Kingsley asked. "I can't imagine that."

"No one being treated differently because of their blood status? I could get behind that." Sirius cheered.

"I have seen to it, dear boy, that people can never see eye to eye. No matter the time." Dumbledore glanced at the screen. "Or the place."

"Oh wow!" Ruby gasped in amazement as she and several others looked out the window and admired the view. "Look, you can see Signal from here." The camera pans out to show the airship flying over the town before cutting back to Ruby and Yang. "I guess home isn't too far after all!"

Yang puts an arm around Ruby. "Beacon's our home now," she told her sister. The moment was interrupted by a blond man looking like he's gonna throw up and run past the girls.

"By Merlin!" Molly gasped. "Is he going to be okay?"

"He probably just has motion sickness," Remus assured her. "Some Muggles are like that."

"Well... I guess the view isn't for everyone," Yang jokes with a roll of her eyes.

"It was a nice moment while it lasted," Ruby said.

"It was," Ginny agreed, smiling.

The camera then cuts to the ship approaching Beacon Academy but we can still hear Ruby and Yang. "I wonder who we're going to meet! I just hope they're better than Vomit Boy." Ruby then pauses as if noticing something. "Oh, Yang, gross! You have puke on your shoe!"

Hermione scrunched her nose. "That's definitely not pleasant."

"GrossGrossGrossGrossGrossGrossGrossGross," Yang kept saying while Ruby started screaming.

"Getawayfromme! Getawayfromme! Getawayfromme! Getawayfromme! Getawayfromme!"

Everyone started laughing at that as the screen faded to black.

"Well that was a fun way to end the first episode," Tonks said.

"Not quite done yet," Roku told them.

"What do you mean?" Molly asked.

"Ginny, do you remember that song from earlier you took an interest in?" Roku asked the youngest Weasley. "Well get a load of this."

A guitar starts up as Ruby is shown kneeling at her mother's grave.

"Oh the opening theme," Hermione realized. "I wonder why we haven't seen one yet."

"Opening theme?" the Weasley twins asked.

"Yeah, television shows like this have an opening sequence with a theme song to go with it. This is usually to show which actor plays which character, though since this is a cartoon they're probably not going to do that, as well as who created the series and other people who worked on the project. They show an even bigger list at the end credits," Harry explained.

"But we're at the end of the episode," Ron said.

"Well, I suppose circumstances are different for the first episode. They would have only just begun establishing themselves." Remus reasoned. "Some of these things, if I remember right, took some time to perfect. Or this could be one of the shows where the theme tune plays at the end."

They see you as small and helpless

They see you as just a child

A snowstorm kicks up and Ruby sees a figure in a white cloak with a red interior, kinda like Ruby's. The figure appears to be dissolving.

Nobody needed to comment about that person. It was clear to the entire room who that person represented, especially to Ruby

Surprise when they find that a warrior will soon run wild

The moon starts to shatter, the sky changes color and a huge gust of wind kicks up snow and rose petals from Ruby's cloak. The camera pans to the left showcasing the show's title.

Prepare for your greatest moments

Weiss is standing under a spotlight.

Prepare for your finest hour

Blake stands on a tree branch. Another branch passes over her and she disappears.

The dream that you've always dreamed is suddenly about to flower

Yang checks her scroll before riding off on Bumblebee.

"Nothing new with the characters here," Siruis complained. "These are all from things we knew from the trailers."

We are lightning

A giant Nevermore flies over several other kinds of Grimm.

"Great! Grimm can fly!" Ron groaned.

Straying from the thunder

Miracles of ancient wonder

Roman and some of his henchmen appear.

The mystery woman is shown amongst flames along with two others hidden in shadow.

"Could the lyrics be telling part of the story?" Moody asked. "The trailers did something similar."

"It's possible, yes." Dumbledore nodded. "Though that does not bode well for these young women."

"And who are the other two with the red dress woman?" Sirius asked.

"They could be in the same group as the other woman," Tonks guessed.

"Or mere underlings," Kingsley said.

Team RWBY is ready to fight as an orb of darkness starts to surround them. They get out of the way as the darkness impacts the ground and the four enter the fray.

This will be the day we waited for

This will be the day we opened up the door

Jaune is looking at a statue where a man and a woman are standing on a cliff that is over a Beowolf. His team mates join him.

"Hey, that's the guy who got motion sick on the ship," Tonks pointed out.

"I wonder who the other three are," Remus said.

"Probably his own teammates," Sirius guessed. "Like Ruby and the girls."

"But why are we showing them?" Molly asked.

"They're most likely going to be important side characters," Hermoine stated.

I don't want to hear you absolution

Hope you're ready for a revolution

Ozpin and Glynda are on an airship looking onward as it flies with other aircrafts sailing past it.

Welcome to a world of new solution

Welcome to a world of bloody revolution

"Bloody revolution?" Molly repeated not liking the sound of that.

Arthur put an arm around her. "Not to worry dear. I'm sure it won't be too bad."

All of the kids exchanged a look. Some were relieved they didn't have to put up with any sort of Molly Weasley rant about this showing being too violent, grateful to Arthur for calming her down. Others were more 'how could you possibly think that?'

In time your hearts will open minds

Team RWBY stands in front of a black background along with their symbols.

A story will be told

Ozpin, Glynda, Teams JNPR and RWBY all stand in front of Beacon Academy with Ruby in the lead.

And victory is in a simple soul.

Ruby twirls her scythe around and lands in a pose before fading to a silhouette with the show's name appearing on the full moon behind her.

"That was a pretty good first episode," Sirius said.

"But we didn't get to see Weiss or Blake," Fred pouted.

"I'm curious about the new characters shown in the opening," George said.

"Yeah. How come we didn't get trailers about them?" Ron asked.

"It's like Hermione said. They're side characters. Important but not the overall main focus," Ginny answered.

Dumbledore nodded. He was curious about the opening narrator, that mysterious woman in the conversation. He kept quiet about his opinion. The others were more invested in the rest of the show. After Molly's comment about the violence, Dumbledore reasoned he shouldn't do anything to lessen the fun for the children.

Harry, however, thought a lot about that person too. Something about them rubbed him the wrong way. Maybe it was just his recent encounter with Voldemort, but Harry thought very poorly of this person that hadn't even shown their face.

"So Hermione, are you going to tell us about these fairy tales that Roku mentioned earlier?" Ron asked her.

"Oh um, actually I wanted to show you a quick bonus video first," Roku said.

"Really?" Hermione asked, curious. They were getting one of these right off the bat?

"Yeah, it's about the Grimm that the narrator mentioned earlier," Roku explained.

"You wouldn't mind holding off a bit would you Ron?" Remus asked. "I'd like to learn more about these myself." Ron just shrugged and said it was fine.

"Alright then Roku, just what are these Grimm?" Moody asked.

As an answer, Roku played a short clip.

RWBY World of Remnant

Grimm

The mysterious narrator from before starts to speak. "The Creatures of Grimm." Red eyes open on the screen with growling in the background. "A ravenous, destructive force that covers the majority of Remnant." An image of Remnant appears, before a Grimm paw clutches it in its claws.

"Hey it's that lady again," Ginny noted.

"Guess she describes the things in these mini videos as well," Dumbledore figures.

"Some of them," Roku explained. "Ozpin does other ones." They decided to not tell them about Qrow narrating the rest as the audience hasn't really met him yet.

"For as long as humanity can recall walking the surface of Remnant, so do they remember this wicked force." A man with a spear is walking in a forest. He encounters a Grimm which then strikes the man down.

"So both the humans and the Grimm have been around at least the same time," Remus said.

"Unless the Grimm were there first," Tonks suggested.

"Many ancient cultures believed the creatures of Grimm to be animals possessed by evil spirits, or perhaps spirits of torchered animals themselves." A horde of Beowolves appear with their images turning dark and gaining their iconic red lines.

"That could be one theory," Remus said.

"They do look like animals we know," Hermione agreed.

"But they could still be something else entirely," Dumbledore believed.

The Beowolves started growing scales on their backs. "However further study-as well as the discovery of newer, more horrific forms of Grimm-has not supported this hypothesis."

"So Dumbledore's right, they are unrelated," Kingsley said.

"Then where do they come from?" Molly wondered.

"And why are they so drawn to humans?" Moody asked.

"There must be some way to study them," Hermione insisted.

"Hermione, I don't think those things can be easily kept in a cage," Harry said.

"They could still study their corpse," Hermione countered.

"Didn't the one's Ruby kill disintegrate pretty quickly?" Ginny pointed out.

Hermione pouted. That was a good point. "They could study those remains, then."

"While very little is known of their origin, some key facts have been observed in the wild." A Nevermore swoops down on a human. "First and foremost, the Grimm exclusively attack humans and their creations."

"Wait, what about animals?" Fred asked.

"While occasional skirmishes between wildlife and Grimm have occurred, these instances appear to be based on territorial provocations, rather than a need for substance." As the Nevermore eats the human a wolf comes up to it. The Nevermore screeches at it prompting the wolf to run away.

"So they'll only get into fights over territory," Remus stated.

"And it looks like the Grimm usually win," Sirius said.

"Well those Grimm looked to be bigger than your average animal." Kingsley reminded them. Those things looked massive, especially in the trailer where they fought Ruby.

"In fact, the common belief is that the Grimm are not obligated to feed; they choose to."

Everyone shuddered at that.

"What is perhaps even more unsettling is the basis of their attraction." Two men appear seemingly fighting each other. "The Creatures of Grimm are lured towards negative emotion." One of the men smashes the other with a rock.

"So wait, you're saying that the Grimm can actually smell fear?" Ginny asked.

"Yep," Roku replied. "Some criminals actually like to take advantage of that."

"That's horrible," Molly said.

"So what about these kingdoms from earlier?" Tonks wondered. "How are they protected when something as simple as a lover's quarrel can bring freaking monsters over?"

"Natural Barriers," Roku answered.

"In the rare instance when villages are capable of defending against a wave of Grimm, their survival is not guaranteed, as widespread panic will only lead to more attacks." A group of humans, shown in white, are surrounded by Grimm. The human figures darken as Grimm surrounded them.

"Yeah, something like that would make it hard to keep morale up," Mood said.

"Little else is known about the Creatures of Grimm. Keeping them in captivity has proven to be an understandably difficult task, as the creatures tend to either die, or kill those who imprisoned them in the first place." A Beowolf is shown in a cage before it quickly breaks free.

"Told you," Harry said to Hermione.

Hermione just huffed and rolled her eyes.

"To further complicate study, the corpse of a Grimm will only remain for a short period of time, before completely evaporating." A now dead Beowolf starts dissolving into thin air.

"So how long will the corpse stay around for?" Remus askes Roku.

"It varies." Roku said.

"Those who hunt the beasts for sport find this particularly upsetting, but manage to get away with cheap taxidermic recreations and bombastic storytelling," A silhouette of a rather portly man appears next to a disintegrating Grimm that he just killed. This is followed by a fake Grimm head on a wall with the man talking in what seems to be a classroom.

Kingsley nudged Tonks, "I guess the fishermen in this world can get away with crazy fish stories."

Tonks laughed and made herself look like an old man. "I once fought against a giant sea serpent as big as my vessel. Barely escaped with my life, I did."

Everyone laughed. Roku laughed even harder as her audience would see a tale like that.

"Although the Creatures of Grimm appear to be mindless, more delicate observation has proven contradictory." A silhouette fights two Grimm. The first one survives and watches it's partner get sliced in half. "It has been said that while younger Grimm tend to be more reckless; older Grimm, who have managed to survive their battles, have the tendency to learn from their experience and will exercise caution in the future." The surviving Grimm walks away and becomes larger and seemingly stronger as it approaches two more men with raised weapons.

"So they can get smarter." Remus noted.

"Making them harder to take down," Moody added.

"So the sooner these things are killed the better." Sirius stated, nodding like this was perfectly sound logic.

"This perverse form of self-preservation allows the creatures to become more effective killers." The Grimm strikes both men down. "And in the end, killing is all that matters." The red screen becomes shrouded in darkness and the wind howls and the screen turns to black.

"Well that's cheery." Ron said.

"So these creatures are really just mindless killers?" Hermione asked. She never thought such a thing was possible. Even the Death Eaters had brains, if barely used. The idea of a mindless killer made her uneasy.

"But then people will be able to wipe them all out eventually, right?" Ginny wondered.

"Something tells me it's not that simple," Arthur said.

"It would help if we knew where these things come from," Tonks said.

"We do find out eventually, right Roku?" Sirius asked.

"I don't want to give away too much." Roku reminded them. "You'll have to be patient. I know that's a thing with you-"

"Wait, I still want to find out all these Muggle fairy tales these characters are based off of," Ron said.

"Ah yes," Roku said. "Another break then?"

"We shouldn't be too long," Hermione said as she, Harry and the Weasleys went over to the study so Harry and Hermione could fill the others in.

"Take your time," Roku assured them.

The other adults went off to finish getting set up for the night.

As always reviews are nice. Favorite and follows are also nice. See you all in the next chapter (might not take as long this time). Stay awesome.
