Happy New Years everyone! Sorry for the delay. Meant to post this last week on Christmas Eve but the internet was down across my whole neighborhood for a couple of day and Saturday is the only day I can work on this.
Don't own any of the characters or anything in bold.
"So this episode is called The First Step," Roku said as the static disappeared to black.
"That's what Ozpin mentioned earlier," Remus said.
"Well this is their first official day at the school. When better to take such a step then now," Dumbledore mused.
The camera is in the first person perspective of someone blinking their eyes open as they wake up. In that person's face is Nora Valkyrie. "Wake up lazy butt!" she cheered before running off. The camera shifts back to third person perspective as Lie Ren gets up with a groan while Nora bounces around behind him singing "It's morning! It's morning! It's morning! It's morning!"
Everyone giggled at the girl's enthusiasm save for Ron who groaned. How can anyone be so chipper in the morning?
"Hey those two are the ones who were with Jaune in the opening," Tonks pointed out.
"That means we now have everyone in the opening," Kingsley said.
"Save for those three in the shadows," Moody growled.
The two are now in the bathroom with Ren brushing his teeth while Nora continues to talk. "I can't believe we've been at Beacon for a full twenty-four hours! Not that I thought we'd get kicked out or anything, I mean, your the perfect student and I'm... well I'm me! But it's just crazy you know." The scene then changes to the ballroom where Nora is brushing her hair while Ren tightens the strings on his sleeping bag. "We've been friends for sooooooooo long! What are the odds that we'd still be together? Well not 'together-together...' Not that I'm saying your not handsome; you are handsome, but that would just be weird, right?"
"Young love am I right?" Ginny asked nudging Hermione.
"They do look adorable," Hermione agreed. Molly didn't say anything as she was already mentality planning their wedding buffet.
The scene changes again to the two eating breakfast. Nora already had a pancake in her mouth. "Right! What was I thinking? But still, I hope we end up on the same team together." She slurps up the rest of her pancake. "Oh we should come up with some sort of plan. To make sure we're on the same team together! What if we bribe the headmaster? No that won't work. He has the school."
The twins burst out laughing at Nora's suggestion. "I'm liking this one already," Fred said.
"Wonder what other kind of mischief she'll get into," George wondered. Molly's head fell into her hands in exaggeration. The last thing she wanted was this character encouraging her sons.
Dumbledore chuckled to himself, believing Ozpin would likely pair these two up.
Hermione looked at the screen in confusion. "Did she just slurped a pancake?" she asked.
"Yeah, I saw it too," Ginny said.
Cut to the two in the locker rooms as Ren opens his and retrieves his weapons (Stormflower). Nora is behind him still talking. "I know! We'll have some kind of signal! A secret signal so we can find each other in the forest. Can you imitate a sloth?"
"Nora?" Ren finally says with a smile on his face.
"He speaks!" Sirius cheered.
"And he's got the patience of a saint to have been putting up with that for so long," Remus said with a fond shake of his head.
"Yes, Ren," Nora asked.
"I don't think sloths make a lot of noise," Ren said slipping his weapons into his sleeves.
"Do sloths make any sort of noise?" Harry asked.
"Surprisingly yes," Hermione answered. "Just for specific reasons so it's not often."
Nora ponders this for a moment. "That's why it's perfect! No one will suspect that we're working together!"
"Come on Nora, let's go," Ren says shutting his locker.
Nora follows him while adding "But not together-together."
"So wait, are they a couple or not?" Ron asks confused. Hermione, Ginny, and Tonks all threw pillows at his head. Everyone else just shook their heads.
Ren and Nora pass by Ruby and Yang as they are getting ready themselves. "Wonder what those two are so worked up about?" Ruby asked watching Ren and Nora.
"Oh, who knows?" Yang said turning to face her sister. "So you seem awfully chipper this morning."
"Yep! No more awkward small talk or "getting-to-know-you" stuff. Today I let to get my sweetheart do the taking," Ruby cheers as she pulls out Crescent Rose and strokes it happily.
"She really loves that weapon," Tonks joked.
"Still there's more to this then being a skilled fighter," Kingsley said.
"Maybe being on those teams that Nora girl mentioned will help her come out more," Molly suggested.
"Well, remember, Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation. If you wanna grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn to work together," Yang said.
Harry looked at his two best friends. While he was mad about them for barley contacting him these past two months, he knew he would have been dead long ago without their help. Even when he was alone when the big fights came, it was because of their help, their support that helped him pushed through it.
Ruby sighs in frustration as she shoves Crescent Rose back in her locker. "You sound like Dad! Okay first of all: What does meeting new people have to do with fighting?"
"If your working in teams you're going to need to learn each other's fighting style so your not tripping over one another," Kingsley answered.
"Or if you randomly encounter an ally on the field you're gonna need to interact with them for the same reason," Sirius added.
"And secondly: I don't need people to help me grow up! I drink milk!"
"What does milk have to do with anything?" Fred asked. Harry and Hermione giggled.
"Muggle parents always encourage their kids to drink milk since it strengthens the bones to help them grow," Hermione explained.
"But what about when we form teams?" Yang asked.
Ruby turns away from her sister stammering, "I don't know. I'll just be on your team I guess."
"That's still two people you don't know at the start that you will need to get along with," Harry countered.
Yang starts playing with her hair. "Maybe you should try being on someone else's team," she suggested.
"Do they even know how teams are form?" Arthur asked. "They may not have a say in the matter."
"I believe Ozpin would have already examined each student and place a system to best pair up students with someone they are compatible with," Dumbledore speculated.
"Yeah, uh-huh, great system," Roku said sarcastically.
"Oh come on, it's not like he's just gonna throw them out there and let fate decide right?" Sirius said.
Roku was silent. Before anyone could say anything else she resumed the video.
Ruby got in Yang's face. "My dear sister Yang. Are you implying that you do not wish to be on a team with me?" she accused.
"Oh I doubt that," Molly said. "I think that she just wants to make sure Ruby doesn't try to rely on her all the time." Arthur nodded in agreement.
"What? No! Of course I do!" Yang assured. "I just thought... I don't know, maybe it will help you... break out of your shell."
"What the-?! I don't need to break out of my shell!" Ruby argued. "That's absolutely-"
"Ridiculous!" Jaune cried out/finished as he walked between them looking at a map. "There's no way I left my gear in locker 636 yesterday! I would've remember having to count that high. Why does this have to happen today."
"Poor kid can't catch a break," Kingsley chuckled.
Jaune walks past Weiss who was talking to Pyrrha. "So Pyrrha, have you given any thought to who's team you'd like to be on?"
Pyrrha hums in thought. "I'm not quite sure. I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may.
"Usually the best way to go," Tonks said.
"Well I was thinking maybe we could be on a team together," Weiss suggested.
"Well that sounds grand!" Pyrrha said
"Great!" Weiss cheered. She then turns around and adopts a scheming pose and a manic while thunderclouds consume the background. "This will be perfect!" She thinks to herself. "The smartest girl in class combined with the strongest girl in class! Together we will be unstoppable! I can see it now! We'll be popular! We'll be celebrities'! We'll get perfect grades! Nothing can come between us now!"
"Ummm... what's with the thundercloud? Is anyone not noticing that?" Ron asked.
"Again, comedic effects," Roku said.
"Yeah, I'm starting to see why Weiss' company has a bad reputation if she has an attitude like that," Arthur said.
"School hasn't even officially started yet!" Hermione shouted. "How can she already claim to be the smartest and this Pyrrha the strongest when it's only the first day."
"Weiss does need to pump the brakes here. She might not even be paired up with Pyrrha," Sirius said.
Jaune comes between them and interrupts Weiss' evil train of thought. "You know what else is great?" he asks her. "Me. Jaune Arc. Nice to meet you."
"This is going to be embarrassing to watch," Fred muttered to his twin. Even though no one else heard him, they all agreed with him.
"You again?" Weiss asks irritated.
Pyrrha rushes over to Weiss' side. "Nice to meet you, Jaune!"
Jaune just pushes Pyrrha to the side and starts talking to Weiss. "Yeah, Yeah. So, Weiss, couldn't help but overhear your fondness of me the other day," he said.
"Jaune, Pyrrha actually seems to be somewhat interested in you and is better looking than Weiss anyway!" Tonks shouted.
"Also she was being sarcastic. Could you really not pick up on that?" Ginny asked.
Weiss pinches the bridge of her nose. "Oh you have got to be kidding me."
"Don't worry. No need to be embarrassed," Jaune assured. "So, been hearing rumors about teams! I was thinking you and me would make a good one! What do you say?"
"Actually, I think the teams are comprised of four students each," Pyrrha informed them. She tried to continue but Jaune interrupted and slid over to her.
"You don't say. Well hot stuff play your cards right and maybe you could join up with the winning team."
"Dude you've already-" Fred started.
"-Brushed her off," George continued.
"Don't start flirting with her now," Fred finished.
"Also, hitting on two women at once is a bad move," Sirius added shaking his head.
Weiss got in between them. "Jaune is it? Do you have any who you're talking to?" she asked Jaune.
"Not in the slightest, Snow Angel," Jaune said.
"This is Pyrrha," Weiss introduced.
"Hello again," Pyrrha waved.
"Pyrrha graduated top of her class in Sanctum," Weiss informed Jaune.
"Impressive. So Weiss wasn't wrong about her intelligence then," Hermione said.
"Never heard of it," Jaune said.
"He probably grew up somewhere else," Harry waved off before Hermione could shout. Honestly he liked how Jaune kinda brushed that off. He also had a feeling Pyrrha felt a little relieved too.
Weiss scoffed. "She's won the Mistral Region Tournament four years in a row. A new record."
Tonks gave a low whistle while Moody nodded in approval.
"The what?" Jaune asked.
"Okay, that should grab his attention at least a little," Ginny said confused at his lack of reaction.
Weiss started waving her arms in anger as she shouted "She's on the front of every Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Flakes box!"
That got Jaune's attention as he gasped in excitement. "That's you? But they only do that for star athletes and cartoon characters!" As he speaks, a box design appears behind Pyrrha with the Pumpkin Pete logo above her and a bowl of cereal behind her.
"That's the one that got his attention?" Sirius laughed.
"Do Muggles really do that?" Ron asked.
"Most of them have their own mascots but for certain ones they get athletes involved to help promote them," Hermione answered.
"Yeah, it was pretty cool," Pyrrha agreed. "Sadly the cereal isn't very good for you."
"Cereal usually isn't," Molly mumbled wondering why her children kept wanting to eat stuff like that.
Weiss pops back up just as the cereal box falls apart. "So after hearing all of this, do you really think you're in a position to ask her to be on your team?" she asked.
"Yeah I get the feeling she'd rather be with him than with you!" Harry shouted.
Jaune hung his head. "I guess not. Sorry."
Pyrrha walks up to Jaune and places a hand on his shoulder. "Actually, Jaune, I think you'd make a great leader."
This cheers Jaune up as he says, "Oh stop it."
Weiss rejoins the two. "Seriously, please stop it. This kind of behavior should not be encourage."
"Like your one to talk Ice Queen," Tonks said.
Jaune goes up to Weiss again. "Sounds like Pyrrha's on board for Team Jaune. Spots are filling up quick! Now I'm not suppose to do this, but maybe I can pull some strings, find a place for you. What do you say?"
"Jaune you might want to give her some personal space," Arthur said shaking his head.
"Alright that's a bit to close. Pyrrha, a little help, please?" Weiss asks.
Pyrrha's 'help' was throwing a spear at Jaune which send the student flying off screen. Pyrrha quickly apologizes to him.
"Okay that was uncalled for!" Ginny cried out.
"Is Jaune going to be okay?" Molly asks.
"Geeze Pyrrha. Weiss did not mean that kind of help," Sirius joked.
The intercom is then shown and Glynda's voice could be heard over it. "Would all first year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation. Repeat all first year students report to Beacon Cliff for initiation." Weiss and Pyrrha pass Jaune who was revealed to by pinned to the wall with the spear having caught his hoodie.
"Oh good he's fine," Molly breathed a sigh of relief.
Pyrrha collects her spear and tells Jaune, "It was nice to meet you."
"Likewise," Jaune groaned.
"Having some trouble there lady-killer?" Yang jokes as she and Ruby approach.
"I don't understand. My dad says all women look for is confidence. Where did I go wrong?" Jaune asks as he takes Ruby's offered hand to lift himself back up.
"You want to go in alphabetical or chronological order?" Sirius asks.
"'Snow Angel' probably wasn't the best start," Yang said.
"Come on Jaune. Let's go," Ruby helps support both Jaune and his damaged self-esteem out of the locker room.
"There's also that," the Weasley twins said in unison.
The scene then cuts to Beacon Cliff which overlooks a forest. Several students are seen standing on silver tiles in front of Ozpin, holding his trademark mug, and Glynda who is holding her tablet. "For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be examined in the Emerald Forest," Ozpin explained.
"So why are they on a cliff instead of at the entrance to the forest?" Ron asked.
Glynda picked up the conversation. "Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams". Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today." Ruby gave a slight groan at that.
"Wow, right off the bat huh?" Tonks said.
"Well, if they are going to be together for the next four years then the sooner they get to know each other the better," Dumbledore said.
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is your best interest to be paired up with someone whom you can work well," Ozpin continued. To which Ruby groaned again.
"Okay so he's letting the students have a choice in this," Lupin nodded.
"Wait for it," Roku said.
"That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years," Ozpin finished. The shocked face of Ruby cracks like a mirror before shattering to reveal a more composed Ruby though she was still distressed. "What?"
"What?!" Everyone mirrored.
"That could go wrong on several levels," Tonks cried out.
"Seriously, what if they get paired up with someone they don't agree with," Molly shouted.
"Did anyone else catch-" Fred started
"The part where Ozpin said 'after landing'," George finished.
Everyone blinked for a second before Remus punched Sirius on the arm. "Hey! How is this my fault?" Sirius asks, rubbing his now sore arm.
"Your the one that said Ozpin was just going to fling the students there and let fate decide," Remus answered.
"But how are they going to land?" Molly asks worryingly.
"In a really awesome way," Roku answered.
"Your not helping!" Molly shouted.
Arthur placed an arm around his wife. "Let's just see what happens. It does seem like Ozpin does this every time and if he hasn't gotten in trouble for it yet then he's doing something right."
Nora turns to Ren. "See? I told you-"
"Well she doesn't seem to be worried at least," Kingsley said.
"After you have partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest," Ozpin instructed. "You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die."
"That's uplifting," Harry grumbled.
"But true, sad to say," Remus said.
"You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation. But our instructors will not intervein. You will find an abandon temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff."
"That seems simple enough," Hermione said.
"Yeah, unless you count all the giant monsters they have to fight," Ron argued.
"These guys are tough. I'm sure they'll be fine," Ginny said.
"We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately," Ozpin finished before asking if anyone had any questions. Jaune raised his hand up but Ozpin ignored him and told the students to get into position.
"Oh yeah, how is he going to launch them into the forest anyway?" Arthur asks.
Everyone strikes a pose on their tile. Nora crouches low, Ren wields his weapons, Yang raises up her fists, Ruby readies her body, and Jaune is still raising his hand. "Um, sir, I have a question." The tile under Weiss rises up into a spring board as she is launched into the forest.
"That answers that question," Tonks said. Molly instantly berried her face in Arthur's chest.
"Come on dear, the kids don't look surprised at this so I'm sure they know what their doing," Arthur said rubbing her back.
"Except Jaune here," George whispered to Fred making sure their mother didn't hear them.
"So this landing strategy thing? Um, what is it? You're, like, dropping us off or something?" Jaune asks completely missing his classmates being flung off by the spring boards.
"If you just look to the left you would have your answer," Tonks said.
"No. You will be falling," Ozpin answered.
"Oh, I see. So, like, do you hand out parachutes for us?" Jaune asks.
"No. You will be using your own 'landing strategy," Ozpin clarified again.
It's Yang's turn at this point. She gives a wink to Ruby before putting on some shades and flies off with a "Woo-Hooo." Ruby follows after her just seconds later.
Ginny and Tonks both clap at this. "Now that's how you do it!" Tonks cheered.
"So what exactly is a landing strategYYY!" Before Jaune can finish, he is flung off with the others. Ozpin just smiles to himself as he takes a drink from his mug.
"I'm starting to wonder how Jaune even got here to begin with," Moody said. "Him not knowing Pyrrha might mean he doesn't get out much but if he doesn't know something simple as this landing strategy then he's going to be in trouble later down the line."
Dumbledore just mused to himself. He may not know how Jaune got into the school. But it's clear that Ozpin sees something in the lad.
A big black bird flies majestically over the forest enjoying itself. Until a streak of red crashes right through it, killing the creature. The red streak cries out "Birdie no!" in Ruby's voice.
"Not the poor bird!" Fred cried out.
"Ripped away from life so soon," George moaned.
"Pretty sure it was a Grimm bird so I'm not complaining," Ginny said.
Ruby fires off a few rounds from Crescent Rose to slow her momentum before unfolding her weapon into it's scythe form and catching a branch. With this she is able to fall down at a slower pace.
"That's very clever," Hermione said. "Guns give off recoil when being fired. In fact if your not use to it then firing one will make you stumble back or make your arm swing up. So using that to her advantage was a smart choice on Ruby's part."
Weiss summons her Glyphs and uses them as landing pads to help her descend to the ground.
"Those glyphs have quite a range of use," Kingsley noted.
As Ren makes his decent, Nora flies past him at a faster speed. He starts spinning in the air and is able to stab Stormflower's blade into the trunk of a tree and spirals down it before gently hitting the ground.
"Okay, that one had to have hurt," Ginny said.
"Not if he angled his arm just right," Tonks countered.
As Ren is dusting off his clothes he looks up and sees Yang cheering while using her gauntlets to push her further and further to the forest. She eventually crashes through the leaves of a tree and leaps off two tree trunks to tumble safely to the ground. "Nailed it," she said.
Tonks and Ginny applauded at that. "Way to go Yang!" Tonks cheered.
Finally Pyrrha, who has her weapon in her sword form, uses her shield to protect herself from the trees she crashes into before rolling onto a branch. She instantly transforms her weapon into its rifle form and uses the scope to find Jaune, who is still falling helplessly into the forest.
"Please Pyrrha save him!" Molly cried out.
Pyrrha shifts her weapon into it's spear form, takes aim, and fires the spear off into the distance. A "THUNK" is heard in the distance and Jaune calls out "Thank you."
"I'm sorry," Pyrrha says as she waves.
"What are you sorry for? You saved his life," Tonks wonders.
"And it looks like Jaune is grateful," Kingsley said.
Back on the ground, Ruby jumps down in a crouch pose before running off. Only one thought in her mind. "Gotta find Yang! Gotta find Yang, gotta find Yang, gotta find..." She then starts shouting for her sister.
"That would actually help since others would think she already has a partner and wouldn't try to find her," Molly mused.
"Oh this is bad. This is really bad. What if I can't find her? What if someone else finds her first." A thought bubble appears in her head as a poorly drawn Jaune helps Ruby stand up. "Well there's always Jaune. He's nice. He's funny." Drawing Jaune and drawing Ruby are laughing together.
"Yeah, she and Jaune would work great together," Molly agreed.
"Mum did you forget the trailers and the opening?" Fred asked.
"Jaune is going to be with those other three and Ruby's going to be with her sister, Weiss and Blake," George reminded her.
Tonks also added "Plus going by that landing stragety, I don't think he's that great of a fighter." Molly deflated in her seat.
"But I don't think he's very good in a fight." Drawing Jaune is attacked by Beowolves. He is then replaced by drawing Blake. "Ooh! What about Blake?! So mysterious. So calm. Plus she likes books!" Drawing Blake is surrounded by books and is reading one of them.
Hermione giggled. "Can't go wrong there."
"Then again, I'm not sure I'll be able to hold a conversation with her." Drawing Ruby is chatting while drawing Blake slowly inches away from her.
Everyone giggled at that. "At least Ruby is being respectful," Dumbledore praised.
Ruby shook her head as her thought bubble disappeared. "Okay... who else do I know in this school? There's Yang, Jaune, Blake, aaaand..."
Everyone groaned as if knowing what was going to happen. "Do not tell me she runs into Weiss!" Ron shouted.
Time slows down as Ruby skids to a halt in front of Weiss who turns to face her. Ruby's eyes cast upwards, making contact with Weiss. The two stare at each other for a long second before Weiss walks off in the opposite direction. "Wait where are you going?" Ruby asks trying to follow her but quickly stops and kicks the ground. "We're suppose to be team mates."
"Breaking the rules already," Tonks muttered. "She's getting worse by the second.
Weiss struggles through the woods as she pushes plants out of her way. She then hears a voice above her and finds Jaune still pinned to the tree. Unable to get himself down yet. He looks at Weiss and gives her a small wave. Weiss just walks back to Ruby and drags her away by her hood. "By no means does this make us friends," Weiss said.
Ruby didn't care as she raised her hands in joy and cheered "You came back!"
Some of the audience starts to laugh at Ruby's happiness. Molly wasn't one of them. "You should at least help Jaune get down! Where is Pyrrha anyway?"
"I'm sure she'll show up soon. She needs her weapon back anyway," Arthur assured.
"Yeah, plus she seems to actually like Jaune," Remus said.
Jaune tried getting Ruby and Weiss' attention. "Wait! Come back! Who's going to get me down from here?!"
He then hears Pyrrha's voice and looks down to see her approach. "Do you... have any spots left on your team?" she jokingly asks.
"Very funny," Jaune scoffs crossing his arms and looking away. But then he quickly looks back and smiles at his new partner.
"There, see Mum, everything worked out," Ginny said.
"This would make an interesting pair," Kingsley said.
Back with Weiss and Ruby the two continue to trek through the forest with Weiss a little ahead. "What's the hurry?" Ruby asked, trying to catch up.
"I will not let my mission be delayed because you're too slow!" Weiss remarks. "I swear if I get a bad grade because of your-" She's cut off by Ruby using her semblance to appear next to her. "What the?" Weiss asks in surprise.
"Yeah if Ruby is anything it's not slow," Moody said.
"I'm not slow," Ruby assured her. "You don't have to worry about me?" Weiss tried to ask how she did that but Ruby cut her off. "Weiss, just because I don't exactly know how to deal with people doesn't mean I don't know how to deal with monsters."
"Seriously, Weiss needs to give Ruby a chance," Harry muttered.
"You're about to see a whole different side of me today Weiss," Ruby continued putting an arm around Weiss' shoulder. "And after it's all over you're going to be like, 'Wow! That Ruby girl is really, really cool. And I want to be her friend!" Ruby then disappeared in a shower of rose petals
"One thing at a time Ruby," Sirius chuckled.
"And you may want to slow it down just a little," Tonks said. "Seriously she could leave Weiss behind with some Grimm nearby."
Weiss waves the lingering petals away from her face. "You may be fast but you still excel at wasting time!" She called out only to receive no response. Weiss calls out for her a couple of times but only finds red eyes peeking out from the bushes.
"Case in point!" Tonks cried out.
"Ruby!" Weiss calls out as a large wolf like Grimm comes out and roars at her. Like with the characters weapons Roku supplied the viewers with a subtitle labeling this Grimm a Beowulf. The screen goes black.
"Wait that's the end of the episode?" Ron asked.
"Cliffhangers," Hermione groaned.
"We've seen Weiss take on a giant suit of armor. I'm sure she'll be fine," Ginny said.
"So are we moving on to the next episode or do you have another World of Remnant video for us Roku?" Moody asked.
"Another World of Remnant," Roku asked cuing up the clip.
RWBY World of Remnant
Huntsmen
Two people appear on the screen. One is purple, with a cape and holding an axe. The other is golden, wearing a hood and wielding a sword. This time it's Ozpin's voice that's heard. "Huntsmen and Huntresses; the best warriors of Remnant, ranking higher than Kingdom police and even military, in terms of strength and skill."
"So wait Huntsmen are on a separate system then the police?" Kingsley asked.
"Their main objective is to deal with the Grimm. It's likely that regular police call on them to deal with any criminals that might be more than they can deal with," Dumbledore mused.
"Wouldn't it help to have the Huntsmen intergrade themselves with the police and military?" Arthur figured.
"Some probably do and some don't want to," Sirius said.
"The occupation was established alongside the Huntsmen academies after the Great War, with the hope of creating elite warriors whose sole purpose would be to combat the creatures of Grimm." People were heading out of Beacon Tower to fight against the oncoming monsters.
"Why did it take a war for the position to be formed?" Hermione wondered.
"It's likely that during this war most of their strongest people were left to serve the armies so homes were left defenseless against these monsters," Kingsley replied.
"Which is why intergrading Huntsmen with the military will be a bad idea," Moody grumbled.
The map of Remnant is shown with areas lighting up in conjure where Ozpin was talking. "Beacon Academy was founded in Vale, Haven founded in Mistral, Shade found in Vacuo, and Atlas founded in the now defunct kingdom of Mantel."
"Now defunct? What does that mean?" Ron asked.
"Separate video," Roku said. Ron just gave a shrug.
"These instituesions accepted graduates of primary combat schools, who showed enough promise and tenacity, not only to battle the world's deadliest creatures, but also protect their fellow man." The golden figure returns looking defeated but the purple figure then shows up and leaps at the attacking Grimm before helping the gold figure to their feet.
"Seems pretty basic," Arthur said.
"But why go to another school after you graduate one of those combat schools?" Ron asks.
"Those primary schools may teach you the basics of fighting. But there's so much one can teach you before you reach the real world," Remus answered.
"Especially in a world like that," Tonks added.
Silhouettes resembling Team RWBY appear and join hands. "For this reason, trainees are grouped into teams, ensuring the continual development of communication, empathy, and teamwork; traits that are vital to any guardian of peace."
"Hey it's team RWBY," Ginny said.
"That makes sense given that their the main characters," Hermione said.
"Also proves my point earlier," Remus said. Ron just groaned.
"As an additional precaution to maintain peace, the founders of the Academies believed that their graduate should be kept separate from kingdom alliance." People from different kingdoms met up and shook hands.
"How would that work?" Kingsley wondered. "Surely most of these people would want to protect their homes."
"It is most likely to encourage Huntsmen to go where they are needed. But yes, they would most likely want to be with their loved ones more then they want to travel," Dumbledore said.
A Huntsman was looking at what seemed to be bulletin boards. "Once finished with their training, Huntsmen and Huntresses are free to choose who they work for, as well as what kind of work they will do, through the use of mission boards. Allying with a particular Kingdom or village is entirely up to the individual."
"So it's less encouraging them to travel and more not letting the government claim ownership of the Huntsmen," Moody figured.
"That is comforting," Sirius agreed.
"However, Atlas Academy has come under increasing amounts of scrutiny for the indoctrination of military lifestyle upon its students, pressuring them to enlist in the Atlas Military's Special Operatives unit." A military figure walks past a line of soldiers.
Moody rolled his eyes. "Of course one of them would be like that. Bet their headmaster has a real stick up his ass."
"Your not far off," Roku muttered.
"Wonder why that one woman is highlighted amongst the other soldiers?" Tonks wondered.
"Maybe she's a character that will appear later," Sirius figured.
"Probably one of his top students," Hermione suggested.
Ron waved her off. "She looks to old to be a student."
"She doesn't seem that old," Ginny disagreed.
The gold and purple figures are shown doing their jobs in their own ways. "Every academy has it's own method of teaching. The end result is the same; Huntsmen and Huntresses ready to make their own paths. Some will stay to work as a team, some will move on to work alone. But all are expected to serve humanity... and never succumb to darkness." The video ends with Ruby's sillioute weilding her scythe. The shattered moon behind her.
"I don't think we have to worry when it comes to team RWBY and Jaune's group," Harry said. He looked to see if Dumbledore agreed with him. No response. Figures.
"There's probably others that we will see that will turn," Remus said. "We don't know what to expect from this show.
"Well I want to know if Weiss makes it out okay! Roku can you please start up the next episode?" Molly requested.
"Sure thing," Roku answered and started the next episode.
