Apologies for the long wait. Stuff has been going on and circumstances have made me lose motivation in doing anything in my routines other than work. Didn't really feel motivated to play my instruments, write my fanfictions, my original story, my latch hook. Any of that stuff. But then I discovered today is the tenth anniversary of RWBY and that was enough to get me to finish this for the occasion. Hope you guys enjoy it.
Disclaimer: I don't own either RWBY or Harry Potter.
"This episode is called The Emerald Forest," Roku said.
"Let's see if Weiss makes it out okay," Molly said.
"No worries Mum. Weiss took out that giant armor. I'm sure she can handle some oversized wolves," George assured.
The episode starts with an overhead view of the forest as Yang is walking around and calling out to anyone. "Hellooooo? Is anyone out there? Hellooo? I'm getting bored here."
"Calling out like that is asking for some trouble," Moody grumbled.
"Even if she wasn't, her boredom would likely draw Grimm anyway," Tonks figured.
Yang hears some rustling in the bushes. "Is someone there?" The rustling continues as Yang pushes some branches aside. "Ruby is that you?" She was answered with a growl. "Nope." She jumps out of the way as a bear like Grimm, this one called an Ursa, swipes its paws at Yang who quickly rolls away in time. She activates her Ember Celica at the same time another Ursa appears behind her.
"At least there's only two of them," Arthur said, a little relieved.
"Yeah. Compared to that room full of people she trashed in her trailer this will be nothing," Ginny agreed.
"They are still rather large," Molly mumbled but this time kept it to herself. Letting herself get wrapped up in her husband's embrace.
Yang leaps over the Ursa behind her and its friend runs at her. Yang manages to punch it back, leaving some embers behind it. The other one starts to charge. Yang rushes to meet and is able to get under it. Punching and kicking the creature several times until she sends it flying back to its companion.
"That's it Yang! Show them who's boss!" Tonks cheered.
"You guys wouldn't happen to have seen a girl in a red hood, would you?" Yang answered.
"If they have, they wouldn't have lived to tell it," Kingsley jokes.
"Can Grimm even talk?" Remus wondered.
"Considering that one video said they're pretty much mindless animals I doubt it," Moody grumbled.
The Ursa merely growled at her. "You could just say 'no'." One of the Ursai stands on its hind legs and starts swiping at Yang. Yang manages to cartwheel out of the way. "Jeez you losers can't even hit the broad side of a-" her taunt was cut off as she notices a small strand of her hair fall to the grass.
"Bye bye Ursa," Ginny taunts with a wicked smirk.
"Yep. They're toast," the twins agreed.
"You," Yang closes her eyes and when they open the color changes from violet to red. "You MONSTERS!" Yang is engulfed in fire for a brief moment before she charges at them and punches the Grimm without any mercy.
"Okay what is up with her eyes?" Ron asks, a little creeped out. "That's not normal and the color makes her look evil."
"Maybe it has something to do with her semblance," Hermione guessed. "The way she looks on fire must mean she gets a power boost or something with her muscles."
"She doesn't need to look like a villain while she's doing it," Ron argued.
"You're overreacting Ron. I think it looks good on her," Tonks said.
The other Grimm runs to Yang but stops short at her gaze while a tree falls behind it. "What! You want some too?" Yang asked. The Ursa prepares to make a strike when a whirring noise is heard and the monster makes a confused noise before falling down revealing Blake Belladonna with Gamble Shroud in the Ursa's back.
"Excellent use of stealth," Kingsley praised.
"Though I don't think she would have needed it. Yang's a pretty big distraction," Tonks said.
"And she has a partner now so she won't be bored," Ginny said with a smile only to frown at her brother's words.
"With how anit-social Blake seems to be-" George started.
"-Yang will get bored again soon enough," Fred finished.
Yang's eyes return to normal as she catches her breath while Blake recalls her weapon and sheaths it, giving a smirk to her new partner. "I could have taken him," Yang said with a shrug.
"I doubt Blake was questioning it," Hermione said, although she was smiling.
The scene then cuts back to Weiss' fight at the end of the last episode. She uses Myrtinaster to block a swipe from the Beowolf and is pushed back further into the monster circle.
"Oh no! I completely forgot about Weiss!" Molly screeched, nerves kicking back into high gear.
"Where's Ruby?" Reamus asked. "I know Weiss is a pain but she needs to be helping her partner out."
"I'm sure she's nearby," Sirius hoped.
Weiss holds her sword at the ready and starts going through her motions in her head. "Remember your training Weiss. Head up, shoulders back, right foot forward," she moves her foot back an inch. "Not that forward."
"This should already be second nature to you!" Moody barked. "This is the worst time to be double checking."
"It's amazing that the Beowolves are just waiting their turn," Tonks remarked. "You'd think they would use this opportunity to decimate her right now." Molly gave out a choked sob.
"Someone needs to make a move soon," Arthur said.
"Slow your breathing, wait for the right time to strike, and..." Weiss brings up her rapier, the revolver spinning. "NOW!" Weiss dashes to the Beowolf in front of her. Then Ruby appears out of nowhere and takes down the Grimm Weiss was aiming for.
"Not what I meant," Arthur groaned.
"Constant Vigilance!" Moody roared. "How did she not see that that was the one Weiss was aiming for?"
"Ruby does really need to pay more attention," Harry agreed rather sheepishly. Though he'll admit he gets like that when he's out on the Quidditch pitch.
Wide eyed, Weiss stumbles over her footing in an attempt to stop and brings her rapier down in a random direction, creating a line and setting a tree on fire. The flames slowly start to consume the forest.
Everyone winced. "Hey, look on the bright side. At least no one got hurt," Arthur said. Though that was mostly directed to his wife who had gone pale.
Ruby gets distracted by Weiss's mistake and is barely able to use Crescent Rose in time to block a Beowolf's swipe which knocks the hooded girl into the heiress. "Hey, watch it!" Ruby shouted.
"Excuse me. You attacked out of turn!" Weiss argued. "I could have killed you."
Ruby scoffed. "You'll have to try a lot harder than that."
"You don't take turns when it comes to fighting," Harry groaned.
"You have to when it comes to fighting with others. Otherwise you'll just get in each other's way like with Weiss and Ruby here," Tonks said. Moody nodded, impressed with the rookie's wisdom.
Weiss gets her rapier ready while Ruby reloads her scythe. A tree in flames falls to the ground separating the Grimm from the students. Weiss grabs Ruby by the arm. "We need to go." As the two leave, the Grimm also retreat, lest they burn in the fire.
"That could have gone worse," Ron said looking on the bright side.
"Still could have gone better," Hermione mumbled but still had a smile on her face that everything was alright.
Once the two were safely away from the flames Ruby asks "What was that? That should have been easy."
"Well perhaps if you had shown the slightest amount of caution with the placement of your strike, I wouldn't have set the forest on fire!" Weiss argued.
Ruby scoffs. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"I'm just surprised that someone who talks so much would communicate so little during an encounter," Weiss said.
"Weiss isn't wrong," Kingsley said.
Ruby crosses her arms. "Well I'm sorry you need my help to win a fight. I'm just fine on my own."
"Well congratulations on being the strongest child to sneak your way into Beacon," Weiss said before turning around and walking away. "Bravo!" Ruby angrily unfolds Crescent Rose and uses it to slice a tree in half before following her partner. Unbeknownst to them, a giant bird-like feather flutters down on top of the tree Ruby had cut.
"Ugh, Weiss really needs to get her head out of her arse," Fred grumbled.
"Fred, watch your language!" Molly scolded before adding in a calmer tone. "And Ruby really shouldn't be so arrogant."
"They are still just children Molly so it's not much of a surprise," Remus reminded her.
"Weiss is eighteen. That's practically an adult," Hermione argued.
"Yes but she just became one. Not to mention Ruby is no older than you guys," Arthur
countered. "It still takes lots of years and experience for one to become mature.
"Is nobody going to point out the giant bird feather that landed on the tree trunk?" Tonks asked. Everyone tensed as they finally noticed it. It looked very big. They can only imagine how large the bird this came from was.
Meanwhile, across the forest, Jaune and Pyrrah are making their way through some bushes. Jaune stops and looks around when he hears shots in the distance. "Pyrrah did you hear that?"
"Gunfire," his partner confirmed. "Seems some of our comrades have encountered the enemy."
Pyrrah moves a branch out of her way while Jaune is still looking out into the distance. Neither aware of the situation, Pyrrah lets go of the branch which whips right back into Jaune's face, sending him straight to the ground with a cut on his face.
"Constant Vigilance," everyone grumbled before Moody could open his mouth. He scowled but kept his mouth shut.
"Jaune! I'm sorry," Pyrrah apologized.
Jaune just laughed it off. "It's alright. Just a scratch."
As he picks himself back up, Pyrrah rejoins him. "Why didn't you activate your aura?" she asked.
"Huh?" Jaune asked, confused.
"Your aura," Pyrrah repeated.
"Gazuntite," Jaune said.
"Does Jaune not know what this aura thing is?" Ron asked.
"Well he only wields a sword so I guess he wouldn't need it if he doesn't use dust," Hermione theorized.
"But what about his semblance?" Sirius wondered. "Roku said that's what powers those things." He then starts to get annoyed as he catches a certain sound. "And why are you snickering?" He demanded from the television.
"I do not know what you're talking about," Roku said, though her voice sounded far from innocent.
"Jaune do you know what aura is?" Pyrrah asks him.
Juane scoffs. "Of course I do. Do you know what aura is?"
"That never works. Why did he bother?" Ginny grumbled.
"At least we'll get a better explanation seeing as how Roku seems to be keeping something from us," Moody said.
Pyrrah smiled as she started "Aura is the manifestation of our souls. It bears our burdens and shields our hearts." As she talks, the scene transitions to Ren who is walking through some tall grass. "Have you ever felt you were being watched without knowing that someone was there?"
"Um, yeah," Jaune replied as Ren stopped and narrowed his eyes. A large, black, Grimm snake rises up behind him and starts surrounding Ren in its coils. Ren takes a fighting stance as the snake starts attacking.
Harry and Ginny both paled at the size of the Grimm snake. And they thought the basilisk was big. At least Ren didn't seem to have to worry about the things eyes.
The scene then cuts back to Pyrrha and Jaune as Pyrrha continues her explanation. "With practice, our Aura can be our shield. Everyone has it, even animals."
"What about monsters?" Jaune asked.
Cut back to Ren as he leaps out of the way. "No," Pyrrah answered. "The monsters we fight lack a soul. They are creatures of Grimm, the manifestation of anonymity." The snake's mouth hits the ground before coming back up to strike again. Ren is able to jump back as the snake coils around him. He pulls out Stormflower and starts shooting at the creature. "They are the darkness. We are the light."
"Right. That's why we fight them." Jaune said.
"It's now about why. It's about knowing," Pyrrah corrected.
"I don't know. Sounds like she's over complicating it," Ginny said, getting confused by Pyrrah's words.
"She seems to be comparing Grimm and humans to the concept of Yin and Yang," Dumbledore explained.
"That seems to make sense given what we've seen so far," Hermione mused. "But what did Pyrrah mean by shield?"
The snake flows behind Ren and once more tries to bite him. But Ren simply flips over it and drives his weapon into its head. Taking a second to catch his breath.
"Nice work!" Tonks cheered.
"I'm curious. Why haven't you told us what this snake Grimm is called yet?" Reamus asked.
"Waiting for the right moment," Roku answered.
"I don't really understand why we're seeing this along with Pyrrah's explanation though," Kingsley said.
"Usually seeing and hearing something like this side by side means we get a visual representation along with a verbal explanation," Hermione explained.
"Meaning Ren's fight isn't over yet," Harry said.
"Understanding dark and light helps us manifest our aura. Everyone has some of both." At that moment a white head serpent rises up behind Ren. He turns around and is barely able to dodge in time as the head strikes him before regrouping with the black head. It's now that Roku dubs the creature a King Taijitu.
"A giant two headed snake," Molly breathed.
"Interesting color choice," Dumbledore mused. "Almost like it's meant to coincide with Pyrrah's conversation."
"Probably the point Albus," Moody grumbled.
The Grimm gets closer and Ren leaps over the black head to slide on the creature's body and blast the white head with his weapons. "By bearing your soul outward as a force, you can deflect them from harm."
"How can you bear your soul?" Ron asked.
"All of our tools and equipment are conduits for aura. You protect yourself and your soul when fighting." Ren is knocked back by the white head and his weapons are flung to the ground. The white head prepares to strike and all Ren can do is hold up his hands in defense while crying "No!" before the screen cuts back to Jaune.
"Molly dear I know you're worried but I can't feel my hand," Arthur groaned.
Molly saw that her husband's hand had started to lose color and she quickly let go. "Sorry dear, I forgot this was a work of fiction."
"Just hold on a moment here," Hermione said, looking rather furious. "You mean to tell me these people can conjure up- Their able to make-"
"It's like a force field!" Jaune cried out.
"Yes, if you want to look at it that way," Pyrrah answered.
"Yes that," Hermione groaned. "That's how they don't get scratched up so easily. Why didn't you say anything when we asked about aura in the last video?"
"One: Because you were just about to get an explanation right here. Two: You were the one going on about cartoon logic. This show just has mechanics for that logic," Roku answered.
Hermione was peeved. "What are the odds I can break this curse by destroying that telly?" she asked.
"That is a risk I do not want to take," Sirius said.
Scene transitions back to Ren who is holding onto the fangs of the Black head. A faint pink power pulsed from his hands in a circular motion. Ren then breaks the fangs off and the creature flails in pain but then attempts to bite at Ren again. The ninja huntsman is able to side step before driving a fang into the creature's eye. Rotating his arm, he is able to deliver a final strike, blowing the creature's head off. Ren then rushes to fight the white head.
"Did you see that?!" Ron cried out.
"That was amazing," Hermione breathed completely stunned.
"Ren is quite strong," Dumbledore mused. "To be able to push back a creature of that size with just his bare hands."
"Your right Albus. Safe to say that aura is no joke," Kingsley said.
Pyrrah walks up to Jaune and cups the side of his head. "Now close your eyes and concentrate." Jaune is confused but compiles. Pyrrah closes her own eyes briefly before opening them. Her outline now glows red as her pupils shrink. She shuts her eyes again as Jaune starts glowing a faint white. "For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all. I release your soul and by my shoulder protect thee." Pyrrah stops glowing and slouches over having been a little worn out by the process.
"So this isn't something that can be accessed easily?" Harry asked, confused.
"Well not everyone fights these monsters so those people probably wouldn't have a need to access it," Sirius explained.
"Is Pyrrah going to be alright?" Hermione wondered. "Whatever she did to Jaune took a lot out of her."
"What did she do anyway?" Ron wondered.
"Pyrrha?" Jaune asked, showing concern.
"It's alright." Pyrrah assured. "I used my aura to unlock yours but the energy that protects you now is your own." Pyrrah watches as Jaune's cut heals itself. "You have a lot of it," she noted. Jaune looks at himself in amazement before the glowing stops.
"So not only can it protect yourself it can also heal injuries?" Tonks asked, amazed.
"They're practically invincible then," Molly said hopefully.
"I wouldn't count my hippogriffs before they hatch Molly. There's bound to be some weakness or limits to this," Reamus said.
Back with Ren who is dusting himself off after defeating his opponent. A strange noise is heard from above right as Nora hangs herself upside down from the tree she's on.
"What was that supposed to be?" Reamus asks, laughing.
"I still don't think that's what a sloth sounds like," Ren said. Nora just "boops'' him on the nose and sticks out her tongue.
Everyone just laughed at the hammer-weilder's antics. "Looks like Nora didn't have to worry after all," Kingsley said.
"So now everyone is paired up," Moody said.
"Ren and Nora should be fine since those two have been close since probably their childhood. Jaune and Pyrrah seem to get along fine though I worry that Jaune could drag Pyrrha down. Blake and Yang might have not had the best start last night but I doubt they're going to let it interfere in fighting together," Tonks noted.
"So right now the main trouble with pairs would be Weiss and Ruby," Dumbledore mused.
"We should be getting back to them soon so we'll see how they're doing," Harry said, trying to get Dumbedore's attention. But it seemed like the headmaster didn't hear him.
Up on the cliffside, Ozpin is watching things progress on his scroll as Glynda approaches him with her own tablet. "The last pair has been formed sir. Nora Valkyrie and Lie Ren," she informed him. "Poor boy. I can't possibly imagine those two getting along."
"Shows what she knows," Fred and George said. Meanwhile Nora's last name got Hermione's attention. She started to get an idea on who Nora could be based off of, but wanted to wait to be sure.
"Still, he's probably better off than Miss Nikos," Glynda added, switching the feed over to Pyrrah and Jaune. Ozpin hummed in disagreement. "I don't care what his transcripts say. That Juane fellow is not ready for this level of combat." she insisted.
Moody's eyes narrowed at that.
"But I suppose we'll find out soon enough." Glynda turns off her tablet and walks back to where she came from earlier. "At their current pace they should reach the temple within a few minutes." Glynda stops and looks back at Ozpin. "Speaking of what did you use as relics this year?" When the professor doesn't answer, she turns to face him. "Professor Ozpin?" Ozpin was staring intently at his scroll. On the screen was Ruby, who was sitting on the floor playing with leaves, and Weiss, who was pacing back and forth behind Ruby.
Harry narrowed his eyes. "Why does Ozpin seem so interested in Ruby?" Dumbledore privately asked the same question. While Ruby was no doubt skilled despite her age, it seems clear that Ozpin has some kind of plan for her.
Weiss starts waking to the right. "This way. It's definitely this way." She then turns around and starts walking left. "I mean this way. It's definitely this way." She finally stops near Ruby and declares "Alright it's official. We passed it."
"How about you actually try looking instead of just pacing around a few steps and acting like you know what your doing!" Hermione yelled before turning to Ron and Harry. "Merlin was this pompous when we first met."
"You weren't," Ron assured. "While you may have rubbed it in our faces how smart you are, the fact is that you are as smart as you say you are. Weiss isn't." Harry stayed silent as he still hasn't gotten over what happened over the summer but he did catch Hermione's eye and nodded along with Ron's words.
Hermione gave her friends a soft smile. A light pink was across her cheeks. "Thank you Ron."
Ruby stood up. "Weiss, why can't you just admit that you have no idea where you're going?"
"Because I know exactly where we're going," Weiss answered. "We're going to the forest temple."
"Knowing your destination and knowing how to get there are two very different things," Moody grumbled.
"It just occurred to me. How come Ozpin didn't think to give them a map?" Ginny asked.
"Because these kids need to solve problems under pressure without any help," Sirius answered.
"Ozpin did say the temple was north of where they launched from. They should at least be able to figure out where that is," Tonks said.
Ruby groans. "Oh, stop it! You don't know where we are, either!" Weiss said.
"Well at least I'm not pretending like I know everything!" Ruby yelled.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Weiss asked.
"It means that you're a big stupid jerk and I hate you!" Ruby shouted.
Weiss spun back around sighing. "Just keep moving."
"Just keep moving. Hurry up. Watch where you're going," Ruby mocks in a baby voice before she pretends to cry.
"Ruby, you're not helping your case here by acting childish," Reamus said, pinching the bridge of his nose.
Tonks nodded with him. "They need to work this out later when they're AWAY from the monsters."
"It's amazing more Grimm hadn't found them yet," Harry sighed, shaking his head. And he thought Ron and Hermione were bad.
"Why are you so bossy?" Ruby asked.
Weiss turned back to face Ruby again. "I'm not bossy. Don't say things like that," she demanded in, well, a bossy tone.
"Stop treating me like a kid!" Ruby yelled.
"Stop acting like a kid!" Weiss countered.
"Well stop acting like you're perfect!" Ruby shouted.
"I'm not perfect," Weiss corrected. "Not yet. But I'm still leagues better than you." She then walks away.
"You don't even know me," Ruby said in a small voice.
"Both of them are right. But why does Weiss feel the need to be perfect?" Hermione wondered.
"I know. This counters with the lyrics from the song in her trailer," Ginny said.
"She likely hasn't broken through the mirror yet, sort to speak. But once she and Ruby warm up to each other then she will see the person she wants to be is not the one she is trying to become right now," Dumbledore said. The others, save for Harry, nodded in understanding.
Yang and Blake have reached a clearing in the forest where a circular stone temple resides. The platforms on the inside hold several gold and black objects. "Think this is it?" Yang asks her new partner. Blake just gives Yang a look and proceeds to approach the structure. Yang follows and they discover that the objects on the platforms areā¦
"Chess pieces?" Blake asks, confused.
"Why do I get the feeling that's going to play a role later in the story?" Harry asked, feeling a little unease.
"Maybe not a role. Chess in a story symbolizes a battle of wits. So this may foreshadow the fight our heros will soon face," Kingsley mused.
"Either with Torchwick, whoever that chick he was with in the opening, or our opening narrator from the first episode," Moody guessed.
"Maybe that woman he was with is the mystery narrator," Tonks hypothesized.
Sirius waved them off. "We'll worry about that stuff later. Let's just get through this initiation first."
"Some of them are missing," Yang noticed. "Looks like we weren't the first ones here."
"Well, I guess we should pick one," Blake said.
Over with Jaune and Pyrrha. The two are at the mouth of a cave. On the side are drawings of armed men fighting a giant beast. "Think this is it?" Jaune asked.
"NO! That is clearly not it!" Molly screeched.
Arthur rubbed her back. "It does look that way based on those drawings but I'm sure they'll realize that it's not the case soon enough."
Inside Jaune leads the way, lighting their path with a torch. "I'm not sure this is it," Pyrrha said, sounding a bit uneasy.
Jaune sighed. "Pyrrha, I lit the torch. Could you humor me for, like, five more feet?" Jaune trips and drops the torch in a nearby puddle.
"Oh yeah," Fred said.
"Real humerus," George said.
The scene is engulfed in black save for the characters eyes. "Do you feel that?" Pyrrha asked.
"Soul-crushing regret?" Jaune suggests.
"No it feels warm," Pyrrha clarifies.
At the temple, Yang studies the gold knight piece before picking it up and showing it to Blake. "How about a cute little pony?"
Ron growled and slumped in his seat. "A knight is more than just a pony."
Hermione patted his knee. "Easy Ron. Not everyone is as into the game as you are."
"Yeah, besides Yang is just trying to make Blake smile," George said. Ron was confused by what his brother ment but just shrugged it off.
Blake smiled with a roll of her eyes and a shrug. "Sure."
Yang pockets the relic. "That wasn't too hard."
"Well it's not like this place is very difficult to find," Blake said.
"Apparently it is. Since Weiss and Ruby still haven't found it and Jaune thinks it's somewhere else," Ginny groaned.
Reamus gave a shrug. "Well now that Blake and Yang are there, it would make sense from a narrative perspective for the others to find this place soon enough."
At the cave, Jaune and Pyrrha find a large, glowing pointed object in front of them. "That's the relic!" Jaune claims. He reaches out for it but it moves away. "Hey! Bad... relic." He keeps trying to grab it and the object keeps moving away. Finally Jaune jumps up and is able to grab on to it.
"Please tell me I'm not the only one who's being reminded of a hinkypunk?" Harry said.
Everyone shook their heads. "Or an Anglerfish," Reamus said.
"Yeah, Jaune needs to let go right now," Kingsley said.
"Jaune," Pyrrha calls out in warning. As Jaune hangs on to the object, two streams of red lights appear. The lines lead into a pair of eyes. Jaune screams which is heard all the way to the temple where Yang and Blake are still at.
"Some girl's in trouble," Yang said, spinning around to where she heard the noise.
All the teens, Reamus, Sirius, and Tonks start laughing. Arthur and Kingsley struggle to contain their snickers. And Moody, Dumbledore, and Molly just roll their eyes. But Dumbledore and Molly were smiling. Moody was starting to get annoyed at this kid.
"Blake, did you hear that?" Yang asks her partner. Blake doesn't answer as she stares up at the sky.
"Oh what now?" Molly groaned.
"I doubt it's anything bad," Tonks assured.
Back at the cave, Pyrrha runs out and the creature Jaune still has a hold of crashes through. It looked like a large scorpion. Roku calls it a Deathstalker. The creature swings its tail around trying to shake off Jaune who is calling to his partner. "Pyrrha! This is not the relic! It's not!"
"NO SHIT!" Moody roared.
"Seriously, Jaune, let go already!" Tonks screamed.
"Not a good idea," Reamus countered. "He'll likely wind up in the Grimm's claws if he tries that. Best thing for him to do is wait until Pyrrha injures it enough or is somehow able to distract it so that Jaune can safely get away."
Pyrrha holds Milo in front of the Deathstalker, watching its movements. "Jaune! Whatever you do, don't let-" before she could finish, the Deathstalker is able to fling Jaune off of it and the poor kid is sent flying.
Sirius couldn't stop himself from grinning. "I mean, that works too."
"Go," Pyrrha finishes lamely. She looks back at the giant scorpion which is snapping its claws at her. Pyrrha gives the monster a sheepish shrug before bailing to find her partner.
Meanwhile, Blake is still looking at the sky while Yang tries to get her attention. "Blake, did you hear that? What should we do?" Yang then starts to hear something else and looks up in the same direction Blake is.
"Heads uuuuuuuup!" Ruby cries out as she falls from the sky.
"RUBY!" Everyone cried out.
"How did she fall from the sky?" Molly cried out.
"Why is she falling?" Tonks asked.
"Where did she even fall from?" Kingsley wondered. No one was given an answer as the end credits rolled.
Hermione groaned. "I hate cliffhangers."
"Well look on the bright side. Now it's likely Roku is going to show us a video giving more info about Aura," Reamus said.
"That is indeed my plan," Roku confirmed switching over to the short.
RWBY World of Remnant
Aura
Ruby's silhouette stands in the center of the screen.
"Huntsman and Huntress are widely regarded as the world's greatest warriors," the mystery voice proclaimed. "While skilled in a variety of weaponry and hand to hand combat, these champions are also masters of a much greater power." A silhouette of Ren joins Ruby followed by another silhouette of a young man with a monkey tail. "Arua." All three silhouettes glow in yellow, red, and pink respectively.
"So it would be more common for huntsmen to have it as opposed to other people?" Tonks questioned.
"It's possible, but with how dangerous this world is some civilians might have it," Kingesly guessed.
"Aura is a manifestation of the soul, a life force that runs through every living creature on Remnant, whether they are a meager shop-keep or renowned knight." A blacksmith gives a sword to another person.
"More or less what Pyrrha said," Hermione grumbled, wanting more than that.
"However, what sets true warriors apart from all others is their ability to amplify their aura." The man with the sword raises it high as his aura surrounds both himself and his weapon.
"So not just bullets then. They can use their aura to strengthen their weapons durability," Moody said.
"That would be useful, it means their weapons won't be able to break so easily," Arthur said.
"Aura is primarily used as a defense mechanism. Coating the wielder in a protective force field, it can protect the combatant from what would normally be a fatal blow." Two figures, a red and blue one, are fighting Grimm. The blue one is dealt a serious blow but the red one has his aura up and is able to counter attack.
"There's got to be a catch to this though. It sounds too good to be true," Moody grumbled.
"Well maybe the video is about to mention it," Hermione said.
"It does not, however, make the user invincible. As they receive more damage, their aura will deplete. If this happens, all the fighter will have left will be his resolve." The blue man disappears and the red man's aura fades. Beowolves start surrounding him.
"There it is," Sirius said.
"So it would be best if Huntsmen try to finish up their fights as quickly as they can," Reamus figured.
"But how would their aura come back after a fight?" Ron asked.
"Likely through just simple rest," Arthur answered.
"Food would help," Molly chimed in.
"However whenever a fight turns gruesome, a warrior can also rely on their aura in a different manner." Right as the Grimm dives on him, he jumps through the air like a powerful beam of light. "'Semblance' is a term used to describe the projection of aura into a more tangible form." Glynda is shown using her telekinesis.
"Tangible form? I thought you said that it powers their well... power?" Hermione asked.
"Hey, some people explain things differently than me, okay. Just roll with it," Roku countered. Hermione gave a pout as the video continued.
"For others it could mean superhuman strength," Yang's aura is burning as she smashes a massive rock.
"That explains why she looks like she's on fire," Ginny cried out.
"Still doesn't explain the eyes," Ron said.
"The power associated with a person is completely unique." Blake makes a shadow clone.
"So no two people have the same power?" Kingsley asked.
"Kinda. Some powers are similar in nature but different enough to be their own thing. And there is a character I know from a book tied to this show that has the same power as Glynda but not as powerful," Roku explained. Kingsley nodded in understanding.
"With enough training and focus, a user's aura can turn them into something much more than a man." Weiss creates ice with her glyphs. Ruby burst to the side in a flurry of petals. And Ozpin simply stands with his can as he drinks from his mug.
"Make me wonder how powerful Ozpin's semblance is," Dumbledore mused. Roku hummed in thought as Ozpin's semblance was never revealed.
"Roku, what is it?" Sirius asked.
"Huh? Oh, nothing. Anyway, are we ready for the next episode or do you guys want another break?"
"I say one more before we stop for lunch," Molly suggested.
"Hear! Hear!" her sons agreed, feeling famished.
"Alright. Let's go!" Roku declared, starting up the next episode.
