Hey guys. I came back for a second chapter to my new story on Hope. I'm sorry it took me a time to do this. I had little free time and I didn't want to rush this crucial chapter for the rest of my story. In an interview, Joseph Morgan said he would never appear in the Legacies series. And even though I understand where he's getting at from and I accept it, it saddens me that there won't be any more scenes between him and Hope. A father-daughter relationship would have been nice. What I blame a lot for season 5 of The Originals.

That's why I love time travel stories, where Hope sees her family torn apart before she was born.

In this second chapter, Hope sees her father as he was before she was born. Even though she's happy to see her dad alive, it's not going to happen the way she thought it would. I'll let you find out.

Good reading.

Chapter 2: See or meet my Dad

After driving the police car for a while, Hope had reached her destination. She parked the vehicle a distance away, not wanting to draw her father's attention, should he discover a police car parked near his home, with the Council on the trail of the supernatural creatures. Excited, Hope abandoned the car and went to discover the house where her dad was currently.

When she got to the front, her eyes widened in amazement. It was a large Manor that she had in front of her. In the time she had lived in Mystic Falls, she had never seen such a dwelling. Was that where her family had lived before moving to New Orleans? Did this Manor still exist in her future? Dazed, Hope crossed the alley leading to the entrance. Then, remembering that she was not to be seen, she cast her camouflage spell: Invisique. Once invisible, she entered the Manor being careful not to make noises, for even while masked, her dad had supernatural hearing and smell. She had to be careful not to make any gestures that might betray her.

She discovered the interior of the Manor. She saw large rooms there that included several paintings, probably painted by her father. The place reminded him of the interior of the Abattoir compound in the French Quarter of New Orleans. She knew she could find her family there in a house like that. If she managed to regain her future, she promised herself to find this Manor in her time, to see if it still existed, despite what had happened to Mystic Falls the years that had followed her birth. She smelled a new smell there, so the house had recently been renovated.

She climbed a large staircase, still in silence, looking for her father in all the rooms of the Manor. While searching, she eventually finds him in a large room. Hope froze and could see her father, alive, just as she remembered him.

Without making the slightest sound, she stared at Klaus Mikaelson. A wave of emotions washed over her. Joy, (it was an understatement) sadness and anger at not being able to talk to him. She was only a few feet away from him. In silence, she watched him move about in his Manor. Apparently he was putting something away. She focused on what he was doing, and saw that he was holding blood bags in his hand. And from the way he held them, he seemed to take good care of those bags. Hope was intrigued. She knew that her dad was never short of human blood to feed himself, but judging by the care he exercised with his bags, it was obvious that it was more than just blood bags. She remembered in her knowledge. She knew that at that time, her father made hybrids through the blood of Elena Gilbert. And then Hope understood. These blood bags must have contained Elena's blood when she was still human. And now that she had become a vampire, he could no longer use her blood to create new hybrids. These three bags of blood were to be the last.

Still in silence, Hope had to make an effort not to cry at the sight of her living father. He was tidying up his blood bags without knowing that his invisible daughter was a few feet away from him. She would give anything to be able to talk to him. Have a father-daughter conversation. Moved, she smiled at him, even though she was invisible to him.

"There are so many things I wish I could tell you… But even if I could talk to you, what could I say? 'Hello Dad, my name is Hope, I'm your daughter from the future. Yes, in a year, you will have a daughter! It's crazy, right? Oh, Dad…"

She imagined having conversations with her dad when she didn't even exist yet.

Her father was storing his bags of blood in a big open black suitcase on a table. As she was lost in thought, she saw her aunt Rebekah storming into the room. Hope moved quickly out of her way so as not to bump into her.

"How dare you save Caroline over me?!" she exclaimed with a voice full of anger.

Never had Hope seen Rebekah so furious with her dad. She had mentioned Caroline? Caroline, like Lizzie and Josie's mom? Caroline Forbes? So her father knew his sister was being held by the Council and he had saved Caroline rather than her aunt?

But Klaus continued to put away his bags of Elena's blood with indifference and answered in a sarcastic voice without turning the slightest glance at his sister:

" 'Hello, brother, I thought you were dead. So pleased you're not.' "

He seemed amused by her words, while Rebekah still remained furious.

"You left me!"

Her father's reaction intrigued Hope. The father she had known had always cared about the welfare of his family. She knew her father had flirted with Caroline. She understood that he had saved her life, but why hadn't he saved her sister too?

Klaus finally turned to Rebekah, still answering her with indifference.

"I only had time to save one of you and you can't be kill. Rest assured, I had a worse day than you. I think it's time for us to move on, find some more werewolves."

"So you can create your hybrid family? You don't know anything about family!" retorted Rebekah still furious.

So Hope was right: the three bags contained Elena's human blood used to create hybrids. And apparently her dad had had a worse day than his sister? What could have happened to make her aunt Rebekah believe her dad was dead?

"Well," Klaus continued, ignoring his sister's moods. "I know how easily they can be silenced with a dagger."

It was then that Rebekah grabbed one of the three blood bags still lying on the table with her super speed and threw it against the wall, causing it to burst. All the blood splattered against the wall. Klaus let out a cry of rage that made Hope jump in shock.

Then Rebekah grabbed Elena's other blood bags and held them up as if to throw them to the ground. Hope looked stunned. Was her aunt going to destroy all that was left of Elena's human blood that was used to create hybrids for her father?

Klaus turned to his sister, glaring at her fiercely.

"Drop them!" he ordered in an icy voice.

But Rebekah was lost in her misfortune. She had tears in her eyes.

"I mourned you! My heart broke thinking I'd never see you again!"

"Put the blood down, Rebekah, there's a good girl!" Klaus begged her with a false look of kindness.

But his sister continued to hold the blood bags aloft, sobbing, as Hope watched, moved by her aunt's distress.

"It's always been me! Not Finn. Not Elijah, not Kol, me! I loved you through everything and you don't even care..."

"Drop it!" Klaus resumed, screaming with rage.

"You want your family?" cried Rebekah, staring at her brother with grief and anger.

She exploded the bags with her hands, causing Elena's blood to spurt on the floor.

"Here's your family!" she screamed, throwing the bags on the ground.

Hope was stunned. Did her aunt really just destroy Elena's only remaining bags of human blood? She had her answer when she saw with horror her dad grabbing her aunt by the neck and spoke to her with eyes of hatred. Never had Hope seen her father so angry with her aunt.

"You know something, Rebekah, you were right. I don't care. From this moment on, you're not my family, you're not my sister. You are nothing!"

And he broke her neck with violence like Hope had never seen. The Tribrid let out a stifled cry at the sight of her aunt collapsing to the ground, shocked and frightened.

Unfortunately this mistake caused Klaus to notice her presence somewhere in the room. He had clearly heard Hope's muffled cry and scanned the room like a dog looking for a trail with its muzzle. And much to Hope's misfortune, her father's gaze shifted in her direction.

Panicked, Hope had her hand over her mouth and stood still like a statue. She couldn't cast spells without getting caught. Still invisible, she prayed that her dad wouldn't find her.

"He mustn't see me! Please don't let him see me! Please don't let him see me!"

Hope just wanted to see her dad. And that was it. Without him knowing. She hadn't considered interacting with him at all. When she arrived, she was happy to see her father, and now she was terrified that he would discover her when she didn't yet exist in that time. If he came into contact with her at a time when she had not even been born, the consequences for her future could be catastrophic.

Hope did everything to remain calm, still and held her breath, knowing that her father had supernatural senses. But she knew he could also hear her heartbeat rising loud enough to spot her.

Within seconds, Klaus pinned her against a wall by the neck with his super speed. Immediately, her camouflage spell broke, and Hope became visible again under the furious eyes of her father who could now see his intruder. He observed the features of the girl he was holding by the neck.

"Well, well, well, what have we here? A new witch? (He glared at Hope furiously.) I just had a really bad day and I've had enough of witches for now! So you're gonna tell me who you are and what are you doing in my house on the sly?"

He applied pressure to Hope's neck to force her to respond. She knew she was powerful enough to repel her father, but using her magic against him would be a huge risk to her future. Making a scene or attacking him was too dangerous for the future. And then he was her father. She had no desire to fight him, even if he didn't know she was his daughter.

"My name is Hope," she answered hoping that this answer would be enough for her father to relax her neck.

"Well, Hope… Strange name!" Klaus exclaimed, raising his eyebrows and still clutching the Tribrid by the neck in fury. "Now… Hope, what are you doing here? What do you want? Who sent you? That damn witch Bonnie Bennett? The Salvatores? Tell me!"

"No one sent me," Hope replied desperately, struggling to breathe. "I came here out of curiosity! I have nothing against you!"

She hoped she could reason with her father into releasing his hold on her neck. But Klaus didn't ease the pressure on her throat. Absolutely not.

"And you think I'm going to believe your lies?" he always retorted with a look of rage and contempt. "You have the guts to come here alone, unless you're stupid!"

What could Hope be saying to her dad? She couldn't answer him that she was his daughter and that she came from the future. She had no idea how to get out of this mess.

"I'm your daughter from the future. And I'm a selfish idiot who just made a big mistake just wanting to see you!"

But she knew she couldn't say that. Instead, she replied:

"I'm stupid!"

"That sounds like it!" Klaus taunted angrily. "Tell me what you came here to do, or you'll die a slow and excruciating death!"

"That's not what you think, I swear!" she begged desperately. "If you let me go, I promise you you'll never see me again!"

Klaus applied another pressure to the Tribrid's neck still with a look of rage.

"You had the audacity to come to my house like a thief and you would like me to let you go just like that? What kind of witch are you? What about that schoolgirl suit you're wearing?"

Hope, struggling to breathe, realized she was still wearing her Salvatore Boarding School uniform. Her clothes were suspicious in those days. Which explained why Pastor Young had taken an interest in her. And she hadn't chosen the right time to come and see her dad. He had just lost his one and only means of creating hybrids causing him to break her aunt's neck, and now he sees a witch coming to his house from nowhere. She understood his anger. Now her own father was threatening to kill her, even though he didn't even know she was his daughter.

But that was way too much for Hope to handle. She could no longer control her emotions and her magic. Objects around them began to move, while the light in the room where they were standing began to flicker. Puzzled, Klaus looked around, still holding Hope by the neck.

"Stop this, now!" he snapped at his captive, realizing he was holding a powerful witch.

"I can't…" exclaimed Hope, wanting to free herself from her father's grip. "Let go of me!"

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" exclaimed Klaus outraged.

Suddenly, Hope's eyes took on a golden color with amber highlights to Klaus' surprise.

"LET GO OF ME!"

Immediately, a wave of energy blasts erupted from Hope and sent Klaus projecting several feets from her. Hope was completely out of control. Emotionally, she was losing control over everything. Watching her living father get violent with Rebekah and then threaten her with death made her mortified.

She let out a howl and changed into a werewolf.

Intrigued to have been repelled like this by magic, Klaus stood up and his eyes widened at the sight of this white werewolf who had just appeared in his home. The wolf circled around like a caged lion, having little room to run. Then the animal howled as it ran through the room knocking over everything in its path.

Stunned and shocked, Klaus watched the werewolf howl and move around. This witch was a hybrid? The hybrid he hadn't created.

After a while, Hope returned to her human form and finally, she could calm down. Exhausted, she dropped to the ground between objects she had knocked over when she was a wolf. Then, she realized that she no longer had any clothes on her, as they had gone to shreds when she had turned. Searching for something to cover herself with, she grabbed a large curtain that had fallen and used it to cover her whole body. At the same time, she retrieved her Mikealson necklace, not wanting her dad to find out. Now that she was human again and had her magic under control, she began to cry, despite herself. She just wanted to see her father, and in the end, she unwittingly made her situation worse. The Klaus she had with her was not the father who had sacrificed himself for her. It was obvious that her father before she was born was not at all the same one she knew. She had just had a glimpse of the Great Evil Klaus everyone was talking about in her future. Despite herself, she couldn't help but cry.

Klaus remained inert a few feet from her. He was frozen in amazement and incomprehension. He seemed to have completely forgotten about Elena's blood loss and her sister Rebekah. He had just discovered a girl who turned out to be a powerful witch capable of transforming into a werewolf. How could this be possible? She was a hybrid. But not one of his hybrids. He knew all the hybrids he had transformed before, this girl was unknown to him. He'd lived a millennium, rubbed shoulders with supernatural creatures, faced witches. But given the power the girl had shown her, it was obvious that she was much stronger than an ordinary witch. Much more powerful even than Bonnie Bennett. Before he broke his curse, he had never encountered a hybrid creature like him. Who was this girl? Where could she have come from? And why does he only hear about her now? A hybrid? Where did she come from? Klaus had always considered himself to be the one and only hybrid in the world before he broke his curse. Why has he never learned anything from this girl before? He had no descendants. He and his siblings had never had children before their mother turned them into vampires. Even his deceased brother Henrik had no children. She could therefore not be linked to her family. It was impossible. And yet, something in her eyes made him think of his family, as if she felt connected to them. So who was she?

He stood watching her cover herself with the curtain and heard her cry.

After a while, Hope finally struggled to her feet making sure the curtain hid her whole body, tears in her eyes. She had just met her dad before he was born. It was a disaster. She had just jeopardized her future. In addition to having to find a way to go home, she was going to have to fix the damage she had just done. She dared not imagine the consequences of going to see her father angry.

"I'm sorry… I'm sorry… I shouldn't have come… I made a mistake… I never wanted to hurt you… I just wanted to see you… I'm sorry for all this… I'm sorry… I'm sorry…"

The girl's distress moved Klaus, whereas usually, he never showed empathy for anyone. This girl was apologizing for coming to his house and causing a mess. Klaus suddenly softened at the girl's dismay.

Then, Hope began to make her way to the exit.

"I'm sorry… I'll leave you alone…"

Immediately, Klaus came out of his stupor and walked cautiously towards the girl, without using his vampire speed.

"Wait, wait, don't go. Please... don't go! Please... I'm sorry I scared you."

Klaus never thought he would utter such words. Usually, he never apologized for hurting others. He'd think this girl had something special that had an effect on him.

The sweetness of her father's words made Hope stop. She froze and turned to face him. Klaus slowly walked towards her, very calm. It was no longer anger on his face. It was curiosity and disbelief.

"Please don't go. I won't hurt you," Klaus assured her in a soft voice. "I just want to understand… uh… What's your name again?"

"My name is Hope," replied the Tribrid, moved by the sudden sweetness of her dad.

"Right, Hope," agreed Klaus, smiling in spite of himself. "Who are you? You are more than a witch. Are you a hybrid?"

Hope considered the options she had before her. Without wanting it, she had unmasked herself in front of her dad from the past. And now he was curious to know who she was. She couldn't tell him she was a Tribrid. If she did, she would risk further destroying her future. She didn't know how long she was going to have to stay in this time, and she didn't need to have her dad as an enemy. Maybe if she chose some truth, the consequences would be less catastrophic.

"Yes… yes, I'm a hybrid," she answered still moved at the sight of her living father. "A few years ago, I triggered the werewolf gene and I've been practicing magic all my life. I am what some call an abomination. Many witches have tried to kill me. Because I upset the balance of nature. That I am a loophole in nature. It was very hard for me to live being the only one of my kind. To live different from others, despite what my family tried to do to comfort me. I lost my parents. They sacrificed themselves to save me. For a long time I wondered what the purpose of my life was. I thought I was a cosmic mistake. Someone who should never have been born. With what happened to my parents, that belief had become firm to me."

Klaus nodded with great emotion. He recognized himself in Hope's words. He knew exactly what she was talking about. For the first time in a thousand years, he felt close to someone who truly understood him.

"I know this feeling," he declared after a silence. "I've had it for a thousand years. Apparently your parents were good people. Me, I never had the feeling of belonging to my family. I don't have the same father as my siblings. And ever since I found out, I've always felt alone, without anyone ever really understanding me. Obviously, you and I have something in common."

Hope looked even more moved by what her dad was telling her. He had never been so open with her in his lifetime.

"It must have been terrible to live with that for a thousand years," she declared, shocked.

"It was, yeah," he declared, shaking his head. "And now, my family turned their backs on me. My own mother tried to kill me recently. My brothers forsake me. My sister Rebekah destroyed the only way I still had to make me hybrids… I have no family…"

Hope was distraught at how much her father thought of her family. And the "Always and Forever" vow?

"Maybe it's not that bad," she said gently. "You just need to be surrounded."

Klaus smiled despite himself.

"That must be it." He then turned his attention back to her. "Have you heard of me and my family?"

Hope shrugged, choosing her words carefully so he wouldn't suspect her.

"Most supernatural creatures know the Originals. I heard about your story. And I was… really curious about you."

Which was true. What had pushed her to come to him was a simple curiosity to see her dad as he was before he was born.

"But I didn't know how to approach you," she continued. "I didn't know how you were going to react to my presence, so that's why I sneaked into your house. I wasn't trying to spy on you, that wasn't my goal, I just wanted to… see you. When you grabbed my neck, I lost control of my emotions. When I get an emotional shock, I lose control of my magic. And what you saw of me… that's what happens when I release my power. When I turn into a wolf, I manage to calm myself down. And that relieves me a lot."

"Werewolves have a lot of pent-up anger in them, and witches have a lot of magic running through them and affecting their emotions," Klaus admitted moved by the girl. "Do you have a place to sleep?"

"Not really," Hope replied. "I have nowhere to go. I had not expected to find myself in this town. An unexpected journey. I don't know where to stay."

Klaus smiled and tenderly offered his hand.

"Here, there is all the comfort you need. I renovated it not that long ago. I can get you a room. And you also need a new wardrobe. I have clothes that can fit you."

He reminded her that Hope was still wearing the curtain that covered her body. The Tribrid admitted that she was out of clothes and couldn't leave without anything on her.

"It doesn't bother you?" she asked him gently.

"Not at all," Klaus assured her, smiling slightly. "I could take you to purchase some things. I look forward to getting to know each other better."

"So do I," Hope answered gratefully, even though it hurt her that she couldn't tell him she was his daughter.

A little before, her father was mad with rage, and there, he became nice after her loss of control and her transformation into a wolf? She wondered if she was bringing out the best in him.

Klaus showed her a room where she could settle down. Hope left the room, while hiding her discomfort that her aunt was still on the floor, her neck broken.

After the girl left, Klaus looked at the mess the room had become after Hope turned into a wolf. He saw pieces of torn fabric on the floor. What was left of Hope's tattered school uniform. He frowned when he saw a piece of fabric with a strange symbol on it. It had two S crossing each other. The boarding school logo that Hope came from, apparently. Klaus wondered which school it belonged to. This girl was very mysterious. And he was eager to know more about her.

It's done. I hope I have successfully met Hope and Klaus. Hope is happy to have the chance to be able to spend time with her father. The only downside is that he doesn't know she's his daughter.

As I had announced, this meeting upsets the whole universe of TVD. By going to see her dad, Hope unwittingly endangers her future.

"Great Scott… the encounter could create a time paradox… and cause a chain reaction that would unravel… the space-time continuum and destroy the entire universe! Granted, that's a worst-case scenario. The destruction might be localized, limited to our own galaxy." Doc Brown to Marty in Back to the Future 2.

Thanks to jetblack1979 for the Back to the Future 2 hint.

The consequences are appalling with Hope's gesture. And now, Klaus has discovered the torn Salvatore Boarding School logo on Hope's out-suit, which will fuel his curiosity about her.
