Chapter 3
Spyro's World
Naruto and Spyro were having a horrible time with Gnasty Gnorc. The orc leader wasn't this arrogant bastard or a powerful villain that was using unfair abilities. He was just a brutish idiot that was running away.
"Come back here you coward!" Naruto yelled.
Gnasty Gnorc growled as he looked over his shoulder and fired lasers out of his weapon.
The two dragons avoided the blasts and nearly caught up to him. Only for the orc to keep running even further.
"Wait, I got an idea." Naruto said. "Spyro, run the other way. If possible, we can flank him." He said.
Spyro sighed, " Anything is worth trying. This guy is starting to annoy me." He said.
Spyro then ran the other way in an attempt to catch Gnasty Gnorc. Whereas Naruto followed the same path to see if he could catch him. After a minute, Gnasty Gnorc saw Spyro and tried to turn around only to see Naruto. The orc looked both ways and realized he was cornered.
In a last minute effort, he raised his staff into the air and tried to use his magic again. Only for Naruto to slash at his hand with his sword. Gnasty Gnorc cried out in pain as he dropped his staff and stumbled backwards.
'Thanks Dan, even now you're helping me.' Naruto thought.
With Gnasty Gnorc injured, Spyro took this chance to strike. The purple dragon jumped in the air and unleashed the strongest wave of flames he could muster. Using enough pressure to make Gnasty Gnorc burst into the air like a firework.
Unfortunately, the antagonist of this game didn't explode like one but Spyro and Naruto felt some euphoria in watching Gnasty Gnorc crash into a mountain.
"Well that's it." Naruto said.
"I'm going back to Artisans. I'm gonna go check up on everyone." Spyro said.
"Sure, I'll get the rest of the treasure and see if we missed any dragons." Naruto said.
"Thanks pal! I'll be right back." Spyro said as he ran off.
Naruto nodded and sighed as he sheathed his sword. He was thankful for having the extra weapons. He took a deep breath and looked around before heading towards the final area at Gnorc Gnexus.
Once there, Naruto freed Magnus who explained everything.
"So you and Spyro beat Gnasty Gnorc, that's great news. Now, to keep it short, you just need to collect everything in the dragon world." Magnus said.
"What do you mean?" Naruto asked.
"You know, find all the treasure and free every dragon. Once through, you can open this gate. I think it's where Gnasty Gnorc keeps his treasure. So good luck!" Magnus said before leaving Naruto.
Naruto looked at the door and saw he collected every gem and freed every dragon. Naruto smiled as he unlocked the door and decided to sit on the ground.
"Better wait for Spyro, we both earned this." Naruto said before unsheathing his sword.
Naruto cleaned his sword as he waited for Spyro. Still blissfully unaware of who else was keeping track of his progress.
At the center of the Gamerverse
Polygon Man rolled his eyes, "It seems that Zarok is not the only incompetent magic caster." He said.
Polygon Man watched as Naruto sat in the nexus point of the final portion of the game. When Spyro arrived, and was eager to hear the news. After a brief talk, the pair then walked into Gnasty Gnorc's domain and started raiding his hideout of all of his treasures.
The sentient head shook his head before looking away and turning to see Uka Uka had returned.
"Any progress, Uka Uka?" Polygon Man asked.
"Actually yes, but the next stage may take some time. However, the first portion may come in the next few days." Uka Uka said, hoping his master was not losing his patience.
"Explain." Polygon Man demanded.
"So far, one of the bigger companies belonging to the humans of the human world believe us to be their creation. An accidental blessing." Uka Uka explained.
"How arrogant." Polygon Man commented.
Uka Uka nodded, "Yes, these are Cortex's words. Not mine." He said before clearing his throat. "Anyhow, as they believe our connection to their world is their doing. The company wants to establish a competition." He said.
Polygon Man looked curious, "Tell me there's more than just watching a few fools competing for treasures." He said.
"There is, Cortex believes he found a way to establish a connection to the other world. The competition may be temporary, but they will last long enough for him to generate a path for later use." Uka Uka explained.
Polygon Man laughed in satisfaction.
"Very well, then keep an eye on Cortex. I do not want him to ruin his own experiments." Polygon Man said, excusing the sentient voodoo mask.
Uka Uka bowed his head and left, leaving Polygon Man to decide who still had worth to him. For now, it looked like those without indomitable strength, unique skills or even great intelligence weren't enough. At the same time, Polygon Man started thinking about more potential minions to reach out to.
The next morning, at Ashford
Naruto yawned as he arrived at school, feeling a bit tired from last night. At the very least, he finished Spyro and that makes another completed game in progress. Being optimistic, Naruto didn't feel bored or sick of his journey since they would change up every few days. Even if he already experienced some of these games in real life.
"I wonder if B and Crimson finished their own games." Naruto said as he made his way to class.
Once Naruto arrived and took his seat, Homeroom began the same way as it did without a single new announcement. It was just a boring slow day until the teacher stepped out and asked everyone to focus on a specific chapter in their textbooks.
'How long has it been since I started going to this place? Three weeks?' Naruto wondered as he scratched his head. 'The only good thing lately is my new job and hanging around my friends.' He thought.
As Naruto tried to study the textbook without falling asleep. He felt his phone vibrating, leaving Naruto to feel curious. As he checked to see that he had not developed Phantom Vibration Syndrome, Naruto saw a group text from Seras that connected him with his friends.
'Why is that British chick sending us texts during class?' Naruto wondered.
Naruto took a quick peak and silently read the message.
"For all Members of the Technology Club, read this whenever you find yourselves available. Today's meeting will be involving a special event in the near future. This includes other updates and slight changes to the club's activities.
Thank you for your time, - Ms. Seras Victoria"
Naruto raised a brow, 'That was a quick message. I wonder what's so important that Seras wants to send a message now.' He wondered.
Naruto quickly put his phone away and went back to looking at the textbook.
After school
Once the school day was over and club activities began. Naruto and the rest of the club members took their seats around Seras who set up her desk. Which was filled with little decorations and other small trinkets.
"Good afternoon everyone, how are you all today?" Seras asked.
Everyone either shrugged or gave generic answers. Seras didn't see any reason to be concerned and decided to move along.
"Very well, I will get straight to the point. The academy is considering establishing an "e-sports" team." Seras said.
"You mean like a team that plays video game competitions?" Naruto asked.
"Aren't video games and stuff like that against school rules or whatever?" Ennui asked.
A school, depending on how laid back it is, is typically against most electronics. Some don't care if a student is on their phone during lunch or brief periods between classes. Except, bringing a console or doing something that may distract a place of learning may not be considered appropriate.
Sure there are music and art clubs with other clubs in other schools allowing students to be creative. However, gaming just felt like one of those clubs that would get turned down right away.
"Well it seems that Principal Ashford might be feeling competitive and wanted to see if anyone in this club would consider the idea." Seras answered.
"This academy does not have any other technological clubs. So it makes sense." C.C. pointed out.
"But some of us aren't the type to compete in that sort of stuff." Crimsons said.
She was an avid gamer but it wasn't her life and the thought of a crowd staring at her while competing in a game did feel stressful. Naruto and B also felt similar as most competitive types of games really build stress. Or at least the ones that feel toxic like League of Legends where the other players take the game way too seriously.
But then again, the idea did sound interesting.
"Well it's not like you're going to a massive stadium like they do in the professional leagues. Anyways, it's just a suggestion and even the board itself considered backing the idea." Seras explained.
Naruto looked at his friends, "What do you guys think?" He asked.
B made a face that showed some anxiety but then made a gesture that got them thinking.
"B's right, are there any specific rules we should worry about?" Naruto asked.
"Well if we do form a team. We just require a minimum of three players with an alternate." Seras answered as she pulled out a document.
B then looked at Ennui and nodded at him.
"I'm not a big gamer, B. I don't like stressful stuff like competitions either." Ennui said before B made another gesture. "I don't think Diablo was built for competitive gaming though." He said.
Unlike his girlfriend, Ennui wasn't a big gamer. That didn't stop him from enjoying the occasional game like Diablo. Something with a dark theme or at least a deep enough story is what tends to capture the male goth's attention.
"I can be the alternate for this team." C.C. said with her hand raised up.
Seras smiled, "How kind of you." She said.
"We haven't agreed to forming the team yet. We don't even have the equipment to practice." Crimsons said.
Without overthinking it, they could just play online from home or something but Crimson knew any school team required the teams to practice from the school. That's why the football and soccer teams can't play from their homes.
"Oh don't worry, we have the budget to order the required equipment." Seras said.
'Of course she does.' Crimson thought.
"So? Do you want some time to deliberate?" Seras asked.
Everyone looked at each other and thought it over. Ennui didn't care and neither did C.C., she just didn't want anyone to claim she didn't participate in this club. It was mostly up to Naruto and the rest of his trio. After a few minutes, they made their decision after going over the positive and negative factors.
"Okay, fine we'll do it." Crimson said.
"Oh good! Now, the next step! An emblem to represent Ashford!" Seras said, sounding very excited.
Ennui turned around and logged into one of the school computers before loading up a design program.
"I can help with that. I was just going to do design and edits at this club anyways." Ennui said.
"And teamwork comes naturally!" Seras said happily.
Suddenly, Loki poked his head out of Crimson's bag and jumped out onto the floor before leaping to Ennui's side.
"And that's our mascot." Naruto said jokingly.
Loki narrowed his eyes at Naruto before facing Ennui's computer again.
"Well then, I'll leave you all to get to work on your own. I will try to have the new equipment installed by the end of the week." Seras said as she stepped out.
Naruto sighed, "Well, let's hope we don't make an ass of ourselves." He said.
"That's my line, but less vulgar." Crimson said.
Everyone then just logged into a different computer with their respective credentials. Each deciding to do their own thing until enough time passed for them to leave. At the same time, Loki looked the most focused on Ennui's design.
About an hour and a half later, Ennui let out a yawn and stretched his body. He wasn't the type of artist to do grunge stuff or do modern art like Jackson Pollock but he felt like something was missing. Like maybe the color scheme was feeling dry or maybe the shading was too much in one place or too little in the other.
"I hate these random stomps." Ennui said as he saved his progress.
"How is it looking?" Naruto asked as he walked up behind Ennui.
Ennui shrugged, "I feel like it's missing something. Like we have our message, but no one knows what we are." He said.
"I thought we were a team, not a protest rally." Naruto said.
Ennui sighed, "That's the thing, teams are about their "spirit" and stuff, but we gotta show why we stand out. To tell them why we're different from all the conformists." He said.
Naruto scratched his head in confusion as he had no idea what Ennui was talking about. When Loki proceeded to hop on the mouse and managed to drag it around a few times while clicking on some tools.
"Loki, I know you're a free spirit and I'm pretty much a hypocrite by telling you what to do. But you shouldn't be messing with this artwork. It's already… wait, what are you doing?" Ennui asked.
Naruto and Ennui looked at the screen as Loki somehow added a detail that appeased the latter. By the end, the symbol representing the team looked like a silhouette of Loki holding two game control wires that almost looked like snakes trying to snap at him.
"It's a mix of Norse mythology and gaming in general." Naruto said.
He remembered that mythology Loki is sometimes represented with snakes in some forms of symbolism. Despite bunnies being depicted as cute and sweet with no way of looking strong. The silhouette at least made the bunny look like a capable fighter.
"Hey, now that I think about it. It's kind of like Loki is taming the games by holding those controllers." Naruto said.
Ennui smirked, "Yeah, we can show those posers that you guys mean business." He said as he added the final details.
Once Ennui finished the caligraphy to say this was Ashford's E-Sports team, the rest of the club looked at the final draft of the symbol.
"That's nice, I didn't think Loki was this eager to contribute." Crimson said, looking impressed.
"I suppose that's nice." C.C. said while B gave two thumbs up.
"Well then, Team Ashford is ready for the competition. Whenever that is." Naruto said.
After Seras arrived and approved of the artwork, which she initially expected to be some creepy horror type of stuff, everyone packed their bags. Ennui saved the artwork on a flashdrive and also sent a copy to B for safekeeping. Leaving everyone else to get up and leave for the day.
"Later guys." Naruto said to his friends.
"Later." Crimson said.
Ennui and B waved goodbye and C.C. just started walking by herself. She didn't seem like the social type and Naruto didn't seem like he should pry into her life.
'That's some exotic looking hair she has.' Naruto thought before heading home.
Where he would repeat the cycle of his afternoon before heading to bed. Not knowing if he would be pulled into another game world or if something would change.
In some desert
Naruto woke up and found himself in some small bunker in a desert. Naruto groaned as he realized that he wasn't in some fun squash and stretch world anymore. There's a chance the other world likely decided to shove him somewhere a bit more intense and difficult.
"Okay, I see lots of sand and rocks and… more sand." Naruto said with a sigh. "Okay, where am I? This place looks too red to be Blood Gulch so I doubt I'm in Halo. Maybe this is Red Faction." He said.
As Naruto started to get moving, he noticed an odd looking gun along with a strange device that emitted a blue light with an exotic emblem.
"Wait, I think I've seen this…"
Naruto was immediately cut off by the sound of a voice in his head. Actually, it came from his helmet as Naruto realized he was wearing white armor that looked like plastic.
"Your simulation days are over, trooper. This is a real battle and if you mess up then you will end up in a world of pain. Now get out there!" The voice said.
Naruto grabbed his gun and ran out of the bunker. He didn't have time to panic and remembered his job. When he made his way forward, he heard the voice again.
"Some activity has been detected in the vicinity of checkpoint alpha. Get there and secure the area."
"Sure thing boss, commander or whatever." Naruto said before getting another update.
"Droid scouts have been detected in the area! Take them out before they can report our position."
Naruto looked around in confusion, "Wait, droids? That can only mean that I'm in Battlefront 2, the original one!" He said.
Naruto's hypothesis was proven true as he found himself being shot at by a trio of super battle droids. Naruto fumbled with his rifle before taking cover behind some rocks as the droids opened fire. Once Naruto was ready, he looked over the rocks and began to return fire.
"Take this you clankers!" Naruto yelled as he destroyed two droids.
Naruto almost took out the third one when he was almost hit by a rocket coming from the droid's wrist. Naruto regained his composure before destroying the droid and taking a hit as a result.
"Ow! Please tell me I can respawn if I die in this game!" Naruto pleaded before getting an update.
"Nice job trooper, hopefully those scouts were not able to get any word back to their base." The voice said before updating again. "Finish off that Hailfire Droid! use your thermal detonators to destroy it!" The voice ordered.
Naruto sighed as he saw the droid vehicle spawn just so he could destroy it.
"Oh boy, I forgot how many simplistic parts of this game are." Naruto said.
At least Naruto was able to keep up with the simple tasks of the mission. It was technically a training mission and not a real one. From here, Naruto had to do other basic things like capture command posts and grasp a good feeling of the other classes.
So after capturing two or three command posts, utilizing the jet trooper, sniper, heavy classes. Naruto finally got a point that actually got interesting.
"Master Windu has arrived onto the battlefield. A lightsaber will come in handy against these droids. Let's knock down these CIS reinforcements a bit." The voice said.
Naruto gasped in excitement, "I get to be Mace Windu!? Or am I just going to get Jedi powers!?" He asked excitedly.
Naruto then saw a menu asking him if he would like to change into a Jedi.
"That's new, but I guess the game world adjusted it for me." Naruto said before accepting the class change.
In an instant, Naruto's clone trooper armor was replaced with some Jedi robes and a blue lightsaber. The boy immediately grinned as he used his Force abilities to allow him to jump down from a large hill that he stood on. Allowing him to land in the center of battle without any harm.
"Come here you Separatist tin cans!" Naruto yelled as he began to cut through each droid with ease.
Once he destroyed enough droids. Naruto received the final order for this mission.
"We have to push the CIS back! Take over their bunker to the north!" The voice ordered.
Naruto nodded as he dashed towards the bunker and immediately threw his lightsaber at the droids defending the command post. Upon being blown up, Naruto recalled the lightsaber using the force before blocking incoming blaster fire.
It didn't take too long before Naruto was able to capture the command post and received his final message.
"Good job! May the Force be with you!" The voice said.
"I'm glad to be able to use the Force at all today." Naruto said before destroying a few more battle droids.
Then the entire world froze as the word 'VICTORY!' appeared in front of him. After that, a portal back home appeared.
"Well that was a nice change of pace." Naruto said as he grabbed his memory card.
As Naruto left, he didn't realize his memory card was slowly updating and changing.
The next day, during club hours
Naruto arrived at the club room as everyone else got settled in. Seras did the standard procedure as all teachers supervising clubs have to follow. As usual, Seras was being her cheerful self and reminding everyone of their progress. Along with presenting a couple of new computers and presenting a list of the games meant to appear on the E-Sports event.
"Just remember, this is only for the event. Try to keep the equipment in the room. I'll be here until everyone leaves so I can lock up." Seras said.
It was a no brainer, even without the games and fancy computers. The academy is already prestigious, a handful of the regular electronics around the school is worth hundreds up to thousands of dollars. So it made sense Seras would have to follow basic security protocol.
"And here I thought I would be captain of the football team." Naruto said sarcastically.
"Go team go." C.C. said with little enthusiasm possible.
B snickered as he logged into one of the new computers and did an immediate check on the system to see how well everything was handled. He wasn't going to modify anything without fear of accidentally breaking some sensitive software and getting in trouble. Not that he needed to as he nodded once he finished and gave his friends the thumbs up.
"And I guess Team Ashford is ready." Naruto said.
"Are we allowed to make a real name for the team?" Crimson asked.
Seras looked at her documents and tried to see if there was a restriction against it. She couldn't see anything but would likely need a second opinion from the principal or one of his assistants.
"I suppose not, but I will have to come back to you on that." Seras said.
Ennui scoffed, "We probably have to use the school's mascot." He said.
"Seriously? That sounds lame." Crimson said.
Seras sighed, "I know, it sounds restrictive but let me double check. It might be weird if we use our mascot as a team name when little Loki is already on our brand." She said.
"Ms. Victoria has a point, we can complain after she gets confirmation." Naruto said.
The goths settled down while B just nodded. C.C. silently ate her pizza with little concern with what's going on. She just looked at Loki who was eating a small side of salad next to her while looking indifferent.
After that, everyone once again went back to doing their thing and hanging out again. With Seras pulling out her laptop to give Integra a progress report along with sending a message to the principal's office regarding the naming of the team. At least now the club had something interesting to work on.
"So what do you guys think we're going to be playing?" Naruto asked.
"Who knows, this stuff is typically five vs five. I would expect a shooter like Counter Strike or Rainbow Six." Crimson answered.
At that moment, B booted a game of Rocket League and gestured to it.
"Okay, that one also sounds likely. Wait, does Rocket League actually have 3v3?" Naruto asked as he hasn't played in a while.
B nodded as he booted up the menu and presented it. Naruto nodded in surprise and now felt a bit more eager to play.
"Hey C.C., do you want to give it a try?" Naruto asked.
The green haired girl stopped and looked at Naruto with her usual blank face. She thought it over for a moment before shrugging.
"Very well, I don't want to be blamed if anything bad occurs." C.C. Said as she sat at one of the computers.
After a quick game where C.C. took a minute to adjust to the game. She teamed up with Crimson and played against the boys. Luckily despite being so quiet and not as experienced in gaming, C.C. seemed to work well enough with Crimson who is also usually quiet.
The best teammates always communicate, but sometimes a few words and codes aren't enough. Funny enough, it looked like the quartet formed their own way of communicating. After another match was finished, the club was interrupted by a knock at the door.
"I wonder who that is." Crimson said.
Seras opened the door and was greeted by a familiar face.
"Isn't this a surprise, everyone we're being visited by the Student council." Seras said.
Seras and the council expected some reaction, but all they got were blank stares and some minor acknowledgement from Naruto. By this point, it seemed like the blond boy was the only one capable of open verbal communication.
"Cool, what's up guys?" Naruto asked.
"Uh… we're here to cheer you guys on for the competition. I'm sorry, what sport are you guys again?" Rivalz asked awkwardly.
"We're Ashford Academy's first ESports team." Naruto said with a chuckle.
"Seriously?" Rivalz asked.
"Rivalz, calm down. A team is a team and we personally have to motivate every competitive team that's representing us." Milly said.
"Milly is right, we did have to support the Handball Team last year." Shirley said.
Now that revelation has caught everyone's attention. A handball team sounded so weird as handball sounded so insignificant compared to real sports teams. Then again, some would argue what defines a sport especially when some sports aren't as famous these days.
"As long as there are two teams from different schools participating in an event. It is considered a type of sporting event." Said a boy with dark hair and purple eyes.
"That's right Lelouch. We have to show our support for this team." Milly said as she patted Naruto's shoulders.
"But this is a club, how can it also count as a sports team?" Rivalz asked.
"Just suck it up." Lelouch answered.
Once the student council's banter ended. Naruto's team took a break from Rocket League to hear what the student council had to say.
"Anyways, before we argue any further about semantics and technicalities. As the president of the student council, I just want to show you our support. So Shirley made you all cupcakes and a small banner we put together at the last minute." Milly explained.
"You guys know we have plenty of time until the competition starts right?" Naruto asked.
"And we literally agreed to this team like a day ago. My boyfriend literally just created our emblem." Crimson said.
Ennui presented his artwork to the council who had mixed feelings. None of which were negative. Most were just questions regarding the slightly dark theme and some confusion regarding the rabbit silhouette.
"Why is there a rabbit? Why is it also so dark?" Shirley asked.
Ennui just gave her a blank stare that she didn't take seriously.
"Ennui and Crimson are goths." Naruto said.
Now the council looked shocked as they saw the pair being chased around by various sports teams. It didn't help that the two had perfect skin and hair. If anything, the two could be compared to some small time models fit for magazines.
"But…"
"We're not allowed to wear our makeup and other accessories." Crimson interrupted.
"Okay…" Shirley said awkwardly.
"Anyways, let's get a group photo. Just to commemorate this day." Milly said, trying to bring the mood back up.
The group sighed as they organized themselves. B stood in the back with a thumbs up while C.C. just made a cute pose while maintaining her expressionless face and the goths took Naruto's left and right side. Naruto then raised his palms as Loki jumped up onto them.
"Aw, you guys have your own mascot." Milly said after taking the photo.
The girls in the council began to surround Loki when he gave them a very hostile look.
"Calm down buddy, they can't fight back." Naruto said as he rubbed his finger against Loki's back to calm him.
"That is one scary rabbit!" Kallen exclaimed.
"Loki is not like other rabbits, His pelt alone made him break the shackles of nature's conformity." Crimson said.
"Well that's a nice piece of philosophy." Milly said.
B then gave Naruto an odd look.
"I don't know, I guess blonds are naturally positive people." Naruto said.
B was comparing Milly's optimistic and energetic personality to Naruto's usually energetic self and Seras' jovial personalities. Maybe the blonds did have a thing with being happy and excited. Unknown to the transfers, they have yet to see how far Milly takes things just to prevent the academy from being boring.
"And now, we can celebrate Ashford's First ESports team!" Milly said excitedly.
As much as the council would have loved a party. The club members and council members just ate a few snacks and interacted with each other.
At the same time, Naruto was cautious around Milly and a couple of others. Crimson and B were feeling the same about a certain few other members of the council. It's been a couple of weeks since the dreams started and Naruto remembered Milly trying to confront him about the dreams. Where she wanted to build a plan to investigate the video game universe.
However, Seras claimed that Milly and the others should not be able to remember the dreams. At least not much, but it wasn't perfect as there was no way to rewrite every specific moment in her mind. For now, Milly seemed to think that Naruto was a nice guy that she had taken a liking to despite meeting only a few times.
"So, who's the team captain?" Milly asked.
Naruto looked at his friends and they quickly turned on him.
"Not it!" Crimson said before touching the tip of her nose.
C.C. and B followed suit, leaving Naruto by himself. Milly just giggled as she pats his shoulder.
"Congratulations on the promotion, Captain Naruto." Milly said.
Naruto sighed, "Thank you Ms. President." He said lamely. Then he realized something else, "Wait, does this mean you're our Commander-in-Chief?" He asked.
"Please don't give her ideas!" Shirley pleaded.
It was too late.
"That's right, I am the Commander-in-Chief!" Milly said with a bright smile. "I expect success, Captain. I trust you to lead your team." She said.
Naruto then turned to his teammates, "Good, because traitors will be hanged." He said.
The other three waved him off and ignored any threats. Leaving Naruto to turn back to Milly with some other questions.
"So are there any captain's meetings I'm supposed to attend or am I exempt?" Naruto asked lamely.
"Oh no, we don't have those here." Milly answered.
The two continued to talk in another part of the room. Which got Rivalz jealous as he had a crush on Milly since his Freshman year. He discreetly tried to reach for a broom when Loki subtly tripped him with a discarded extension chord.
"Ow!" Rivalz cried out.
Crimson lowered her hands and let Loki jump into her palms. She gave a rare smile as it occurred to her that her pet rabbit committed minor chaos to prevent some other chaos. Crimson was not sure if that was a contradiction or just another cycle.
"You've done good Loki." Crimson said as she rubbed Loki's back.
B just laughed as he noticed what the rabbit did. All in all, today's meeting was a lot more lively. Hopefully tomorrow will go back to being normal and without any issue.
That night, with Naruto
Continuing his duty, Naruto woke up on Mygeeto, a cold planet that was ripped apart by war. Which was clear to see as Naruto saw the first objective was to cross the bridge in front of him and take over the command post on the other side. Which was blocked by multiple droids and two massive turrets.
'Oh, I hated this level when I was little.' Naruto thought.
Naruto quickly hopped onto the nearby AT-RT and started shooting at the battle droids. Once he made a big enough path, he made his way directly towards the command post and got to work on taking it. When a few battle droids flanked him from the side.
"Stupid robots!" Naruto cursed as he fired his rifle onto them.
It took a solid minute to clear the droids that were surrounding him. Once done, Naruto was able to claim the command post and received orders to destroy the turrets guarding the bridge.
"Well done men, now we have to make space for General Mundi to land. Take out those turrets and clear the deck." The commander ordered.
"I better change classes." Naruto said as he switched to the heavy trooper.
As Naruto got to work on destroying the turrets. He didn't notice some glitching in the distance between the droids and the clones that were fighting per their scripted programming. Once done, Naruto got the next set of orders and was offered a chance to use the hero class again.
"Sweet!" Naruto said as he became a Jedi again.
"Before we can begin our assault on the energy collector. We have to destroy the shield barricade." the commander said.
Naruto nodded and proceeded to jump behind a shield barrier and destroy the generator connected to it. Naruto continued this process with the next pair of generators until receiving the next orders to capture the command post near the bridge leading to the energy reactor he needed to reach.
As Naruto wiped out the battle droids guarding the command post. He turned his attention to the heavy turret next to it. The gamer then slashed at the turret as a droid took control of it. Barely giving Naruto enough time to destroy it with his lightsaber.
"Okay, this thing is OP. Why is it so wimpy in the new Star Wars movies?" Naruto asked as he looked at the lightsaber in his hand.
That's when he was surprised by a new voice.
"A lightsaber is a delegate weapon, young one." Said Ki-Adi-Mundi, the Jedi.
"Oh right, I almost forgot." Naruto said sheepishly.
Naruto was surprised, he knew there were heroes in the game's campaign but he didn't turn into the Jedi assigned to Geonosis or Mygeeto. Maybe during Naruto's excitement, he never noticed Mace Windu in the training level or noticed Ki-Adi-Mundi's arrival.
"Young one, try not to be distracted. Our next goal is to make it past the bridge and destroy the energy collector." Ki-Adi-Mundi said as he pointed to the bridge.
Naruto groaned as he saw a trio of enemy tanks making their way towards the men.
"Do not be discouraged! Trust in the force!" The Jedi Master said before jumping ahead.
Naruto sighed, "He's right, lightsabers are the most overpowered weapons in this game." He said.
Naruto then followed after Ki-Adi-Mundi and cut through the incoming tanks. Allowing for more room for the clone troopers to follow after them. Once through, Naruto made it into the room where the energy collector was and destroyed it. Making it drop the power source which kind of looked like a crystal.
Before Naruto left, Ki-Adi-Mundi had spoken up again.
"Keep your senses up, young padawan. I sense a gap in the force. As if a path had opened but is not making itself visible." Ki-Adi-Mundi said.
Naruto nodded, "Sure, I'll keep an eye out." He said.
Naruto had no idea what the Jedi Master meant by a gap in the Force. Maybe the game world was adjusting again as all NPCs tended to interact with Naruto differently. So there's no telling if Ki-Adi-Mundi was being truthful or if he was just being weird because of the circumstances.
'I'll worry about it later.' Naruto thought as he used his force speed.
With that power, he was able to rush through the oncoming onslaught of battle droids. Slashing through any and all that made his way through. Excluding the destroyer droids as he didn't want to waste too much time on them. Even though the lightsaber did give him an edge against those annoying things.
However, as Naruto came close, he did start feeling something. Like there was this sudden path that was open but a barrier was blocking it.
"Don't tell me the game is glitching out or something." Naruto said.
Just as Naruto arrived at the Republic transport ship where he had to deliver the energy source. Naruto felt the world breaking apart around him. Feeling like the whole planet was being erased out of existence to his horror.
"What the heck is going on!?" Naruto asked.
Naruto drew his lightsaber and waved it around before hearing a familiar voice from above.
"Naruto!" Crimson shouted.
Naruto looked up and saw Crimson standing up on a platform.
"Crimson? You broke my game?" Naruto asked.
"I was going to ask you the same." Crimson responded.
Then the two friends were distracted by the sound of a loud whistle. They then turned to see B who was covered in various alien weapons and gadgets.
"B, where have you been?" Naruto asked.
B raised a finger and prepared to talk when a new presence arrived. The presence then caused the three gamers to stand on a single platform.
The trio were about to question things when the world started to pull itself together. In a few moments, the group looked like they were in a lab with an opened doorway. Naruto was the first to start walking through while keeping his lightsaber ignited with B following behind and holding a massive gun in his arms.
As for Crimson, she was a lot more cautious and she put a bit more space between herself and the boys. Not that she was planning to run like a coward but just in case something bad happened.
"This feels like some Matrix crap going on." Naruto said.
He then noticed a man in an exotic outfit with a red cape and red bandages around his face. Naruto quickly recognized the man thanks to his childhood years of playing Kingdom Hearts.
"Wait, is that Ansem?" Naruto asked.
"Isn't he DiZ when he's dressed like that?" Crimson asked as she entered the room.
"Diz" or Ansem stood up and started to explain himself.
"You are correct, you may call me whatever you wish. However, this meeting is not with the purpose of socializing." DiZ said.
Naruto stepped forward while gesturing for his friends to keep their guards up. Especially with the fact that game characters have not been able to recognize the trio as being from another world.
"Okay, so you know us. How are we here?" Naruto asked.
"I summoned you, in fact I have noticed many of your kind running loose in this world. It wasn't too long that I was aware of the two worlds existing." DiZ said.
"I was told this world was made because of an experiment gone wrong." Naruto replied.
"Perhaps some instances, but the physical space and physics were always here." DiZ said.
Crimson then spoke up as B decided to look around the lab.
"So what? They just opened a path to an existing world?" Crimson asked.
DiZ shrugged, "That is my theory. Originally I could only process an infinite loop as DiZ/Ansem with the mental script in my head." He said before looking at his computer. "Then I started feeling drastic changes. Memories were not memories, but just collected data. Eventually, I investigated and tried to learn more." He continued to explain.
Naruto was confused, "Okay, so the game world always existed, but you mostly exist because of the games that were published?" He asked.
"That sounds sort of like the case." Crimson said, also feeling confused.
"There are still so many mysteries I have yet to solve myself." DiZ replied. "However, I brought you here as you three seemed to be the closest active "gamers" I could reach." he said.
"And how do we know we can trust you? All you did was reveal that you're curious." Crimson said.
While Ansem was a good guy that did briefly turn bitter when he became DiZ. The group couldn't afford to take the risk of good characters actually being bad or just making selfish decisions with new information in their minds.
"I did not expect to gain your trust. However, I do have some information worth sharing and I hope you can share with others like you." DiZ said as he walked to his computer. "There are a few others, and more who are constantly pulled in and rejected. As for you three, do you still have your memory cards?" He asked.
The trio nodded and DiZ proceeded to gesture towards a machine with slots that fit the memory cards.
"From what I can tell, those are devices capable of holding information on progress. Yours also work as a key to this universe. Allowing you to maintain your progress and abilities you gain." DiZ explained.
DiZ then started loading up some information to the device.
"If you wish, I will grant access to other information. However, I will respect your decision to not accept my…"
DiZ was cut off by B who decided to jam his memory card into a slot. Crimson and Naruto were cut off guard by how recklessly B behaved. He was the tech genius and the first to notice shady stuff. They expected him to be the most unsure about this situation.
"B!" they yelled.
B just gave them a thumbs up as if nothing bad was happening. As for DiZ, he loaded up a program which B managed to somehow understand. The big teen gave another thumbs up before feeling a slight shock once he took out the memory card.
"What did you do!?" Naruto asked.
"A little advantage that may help. Your friend now has a stronger connection to the "game" universe while in your reality." DiZ said.
"But that would mean the leak between worlds is bigger." Crimson pointed out.
DiZ shook his head at the goth girl, "Child, the connection was never meant to exist and it's much bigger than it is. While you have made progress, dark forces have already started tunneling their way out." He explained.
"Oh great, so now more NPCs are self aware and deciding to attack us." Naruto said sarcastically.
"Which is why I gave your friend the power to prepare for such an event. I offered it to all of you and planned for an event where you did not trust my help." DiZ said.
Crimson and Naruto looked at each other, both feeling unsure about what DiZ had to offer them. In this form, the man was quite aggressive compared to traditional Ansem. But then again, he is self aware and there's no telling that there are other game characters that are self aware as well.
Even if the idea of a hostile faction sounded far fetched. There are plenty of games with more programming that could have characters become self aware.
"I'll give it a try." Naruto said.
"Then I'm sitting this one out for now." Crimson said.
"Very well, consider this a trial period then. Afterwards, unless you have other questions or concerns. I will send you back to your respective "game" realms. I think you all reached a stopping point anyways." DiZ said as Naruto put in his memory card.
"Hey speaking of which, I never asked in the past couple of days. What games did you and B end up in?" Naruto asked.
Crimson held up a whip and a cross, revealing she was in Castlevania. She then pointed to B who turned his back on them and revealed Clank who had been idly sitting by.
"Clank? But where's Ratchet?" Naruto asked.
B was about to speak when they heard a loud echo.
"Hey B! Where did you and Clank go? I'm literally looking at a void in the middle of space and time. It would help if one of you spoke up." Ratchet said from the outside.
B just sighed while Clank narrowed his eyes, silently registering everything he heard. With everyone else realizing that Clank had learned the whole story regarding the two universes and the connection between them. Luckily for them, Clank was a machine that valued logic and reason.
"Perhaps it was a good thing Ratchet was not here to hear this." Clank said.
B scratched his head as he realized that the Lombax would probably lose his mind trying to process this news. However, Clank had another thing to say as he studied DiZ's technology.
"Ansem is it? Would you mind if I made a copy of the schematics or have some sample of information on your program? I would not mind returning at a later date and assist in this odd irregularity." Clank asked.
DiZ thought it over for a minute before deciding to put his faith in the robot.
"Very well, but only a small sample for now. Most of this is still in the development stage and I can only risk sharing so much with those as knowledgeable as myself." DiZ replied.
B then pulled out a flash drive so the two can begin transferring data. Leaving Crimson and Naruto to ponder on this new information and to test their faith in DiZ.
The next day
Another day of school ended and it was back to work. Well, back to work at the club as this was the third and last day the group needed to meet for the week. Today, Naruto's team was practicing with a game that surprised them.
Surprising as it was on the list of games they may compete in.
"Star Wars Battlefront 2… the 2017 version." Naruto said with a sigh.
Naruto admitted that the reboot has improved since launch but it felt ironic considering that he was in the original during his dreams. Still, despite lacking some variety in some areas, the game did appear to have a bit of a competitive mode through the Heroes Vs Villains game mode.
As Naruto logged in, he saw B sent him a message.
B: 1 V 1 me
Naruto looked over his computer and saw B smirking at him. Naruto scoffed before smirking back.
"Okay, which one of you ladies is teaming up with B?" Naruto asked.
"Crimson." C.C. spoke up.
"Yeah?" Crimson asked.
"How about w him?" C.C. asked.
Crimson laughed internally, "Can we? I haven't tried this one." She said.
"Hey, don't you guys dare!" Naruto said.
A few minutes later, Crimson sighed in disappointment much to Naruto's annoyance.
"This sucks, we can only do two versus two or all of us against random players." Crimson said.
Naruto rolled his eyes, "Let's just get started then." He said.
Another minute later and Naruto was on the lightside with C.C. on his team. C.C. had chosen to be Rey while Naruto chose Obi-Wan. Whereas B and Crimson became Darth Maul and Palpatine.
"Now how do I use these controls? They feel so slippery in movement, but stiff in combat." C.C. asked.
"Don't worry, you're Rey. She uses her lightsaber like a baseball bat." Naruto said, confusing the green haired girl.
"Imagine a nerd running around with a samurai sword." Crimson said, giving her a better idea.
C.C. nodded and understood, maybe someone who fights like a novice is a good character for her. Which seemed like the case when Crimson struck C.C. with a blast of lightning that sent her across the floor on the map. Leaving Naruto and B to engage in a lightsaber made the pair look like a pair of acrobats with the stiffest reactions.
"You don't know the power of the dark side." Crimson said emotionlessly.
"You are right, I do not know. Can you explain it to me?" C.C. asked.
"I mean, I don't have a big database on it but it's basically giving into your emotions and stuff. Like getting power from getting angry, greedy and stuff." Crimson said, using her limited knowledge.
"Does that mean that the lightside is the power of swinging a sword like a baseball bat?" C.C. asked.
Crimson watched as C.C.'s character was using Dash Strike to just rush at the Crimson's character. Rey may have had good movement speed, but Crimson managed to avoid each strike.
"That's the power of plot armor, but when it's not on." Crimson said dryly.
C.C. just nodded and continued to play the game despite Crimson whooping her ass. She just felt like it would be a good time to see which characters she liked the best.
Meanwhile B and Naruto were taking it pretty far with their duel. The fighting looked stiff compared to the actual Star Wars movies but there did seem to be a lot of quick passing intense fighting. As the two kept dashing around and trying to hit each other.
With Naruto avoiding a saber throw only to be caught in Darth Maul's Force Choke. It resulted in Naruto being flung across the ground but quickly recovered. However, it didn't help that his Obi Wan had lower stamina compared to Darth Maul.
'Okay, B has the advantage of hitting me quickly.' Naruto thought as he tried blocking each attack.
Naruto dashed away from B to give himself some room to recover stamina. That didn't stop B who looked very eager to keep attacking him. Naruto then tried to use Defensive Rush but B moved out of the way in time and hit him with a Saber Throw from behind. Naruto groaned as he could tell that B was being smug.
'One of these days B! One of these days!' Naruto thought before using the Restrictive Mind Trick.
In that instance, Naruto temporarily disabled B's skills. Allowing him to hit B who left himself vulnerable for the few seconds he was stuck. Naruto then used Defensive Rush again and dealt a heavy blow with the lightsaber strike. Naruto could hear B sigh loudly as he tried changing up his tactics once his abilities were active again.
B tried to use the Spin Attack to hit Naruto as quickly as possible. Only to get caught in Naruto's Force Push and was left vulnerable for a whole second. Naruto quickly dashed to B and hit him quickly. The two traded blows for a few seconds before Naruto defeated B with just a hairline of health left.
But then Crimson came and killed him with Force Lightning.
"I gotta recycle apprentices because of you now." Crimson said.
Naruto groaned at the sneak attack before looking at C.C. who started using Yoda.
"And where were you?" Naruto asked her.
"I was brutally defeated several times while you and our silent compatriot were being overdramatic." C.C. explained before killing Crimson's character. "I have avenged and increased our score." she said.
Naruto groaned as he saw the remaining lives were 10-18 with B and Crimson's side being closer to victory.
"Okay, I'll handle Crimson. You handle B." Naruto said.
C.C. nodded and traded opponents once they respawned.
It didn't go well, Naruto didn't blame C.C. for being a novice. He blamed himself for having his weird rivalry with B and Crimson. Yes, even Crimson got too deep into character. Perhaps she did indeed discover the true power of the dark side of the Force.
"Well we lost, but at least got good hits in." Naruto said.
C.C. kept a blank look on her face but raised her fists into the air.
"Good, you owe me dinner." she said.
"What?" Naruto asked.
"It doesn't have to be pricey, we lost so this is to recuperate." C.C. said.
Naruto narrowed his eyes at her, "You may be quiet and keep to yourself, but I feel like you only want to drive me insane." He said.
C.C. smiled at him and it only became harder to understand her. B wasn't helping either as he typed into the game's chat.
B: Take the girl out for dinner, you must. Training her there, you will.
Naruto looked up at B who was chuckling the whole time. What annoyed him was that B decided to speak like Yoda in the chat. Crimson also didn't help as she also typed into the chat.
Crimson: Do it, take the girl to dinner and giv into the dark side.
B: Your destiny, it is.
Naruto sighed as he picked up his bag, "Fine, but just know. I'm not inviting you two for dinner next time." He said.
B just shrugged and Crimson just didn't look like she cared. Naruto sighed again and went out the door with C.C. as everyone else packed up for the day. Seras decided to speak a few words before anyone left.
"Well that concludes today's meeting. I hope you took this day as a bonding experience between each other." Seras said as she started packing up as well. "Remember, the competition is coming soon but try not to stress yourselves." She said.
"We won't." Crimson said.
B just waved at Seras as he left while Ennui followed after Crimson.
"Hey Crimson, I gotta ask. Have you been sleeping? Don't think I'm flirting or anything, but you look like you were dragged out of a coffin." He said.
Somehow, being compared to the dead was a form of compliments between goths. In this case, Ennui looked really curious as he stared at his girlfriend. Crimson looked at her boyfriend in confusion before pulling out a small handheld mirror.
Crimson shivered as she knew she would look at the beautiful perky face she had that would fit a preppy. While she did see that, she noticed some lines under her eyes.
"For real? I guess I have been up late for the past few days." Crimson admitted, not realizing that she's going through a change.
Ennui sighed, "You should really be careful. You're supposed to save the rest for when you're buried and everything." He said.
"I know, I don't want my body marching out when I'm supposed to croak. I'll be in whatever afterlife comes and stare at my body moving on its own and it won't be by possession which will suck." Crimson said with a sigh.
Apparently, unless a spirit is at work, Crimson won't rest in the afterlife knowing her body is still being used and not placed in a fine coffin. Regardless of how Crimson wants to be treated after her final day on earth comes. She still had plenty of days left and needed to prepare for them.
Goths sure have a strange fascination with the afterlife and death. At least it's not as bad as what the emos think.
In the Gameverse
While Polygon Man had eyes all around the universe of video games. He also had a peak at the real world where humans are. He didn't have a particularly good view on anything or anyone that is relevant to his goal. However, there was someone that Cortex managed to find during his attempts to extend the gateway into the real world.
"My lord, you may want to look at this. There is this man from a company in the land called Japan." Cortex said.
Polygon Man watched as Cortex presented a screen revealing a generic looking man in a suit with glasses. The man was overlooking some group of researchers that were messing with some machinery. He could see that they were working on something less clunky but less effective versions of Cortex's machines.
With the results being dangerous but effective.
Polygon Man then witnessed the man congratulating the workers as they generated a small portal. Where a zombie from Resident Evil came out and tried to reach for them. Just as security came to handle the undead monster, the zombie began to collapse.
"So they did what you planned, but it failed." Polygon Man said, now feeling some hesitation. "Does this mean we will meet our demise if we cross?" He asked.
"Of course not my lord, albeit that was just a zombie. A low level creature that was just a durable peon. A grunt that needs lots of hits to stay down." Cortex said.
"And how can you guarantee that?" Polygon asked.
"Firstly, besides the fact that we are much more durable. My technology is superior and better prepared once we connect to the proper medium." Cortex explained.
"You are referring to human competition." Polygon Man said, earning a nod. "Then what purpose do you have for showing me this failure of a man?" He asked.
"That man is Sugou Noboyuki, he is holding the competition on behalf of the company he works for. He thinks he can make progress with his technology. Believing he's making copies of the creatures of this realm." Cortex explained with minor annoyance.
Polygon Man raised a brow, "So the arrogance continues. No matter, if he's proud of the achievements he did not obtain. There is some worth in using him." He said.
"There are others, just to let you know in case this foolish man should fail to meet expectations." Cortex said.
"Good, because you know the penalty for failing me as well." Polygon Man said.
Cortex gulped, "Yes, I'm well informed." He said.
"Anyhow, ask Uka Uka to prepare my forces. The remaining days will be like a culling game for the "Gamers" who will pick out the rest of the bottomfeeders." Polygon Man commanded.
Cortex nodded and left to pass on the message as well as continue to work on his experiments.
Polygon Man smirked at the sight of the foolish men working on the bridge between his world and their world. Not realizing that the sentient video game program was going to use their achievements against them. Pride and egotism really is harmful, like a double edged sword.
With the gamers
Naruto grunted as he found himself in his dream again. He looked around and found himself in the hangar bay of a Republic Venator. When he realized how quiet it was and how empty it was. Naruto wondered if something was wrong as he couldn't see any pilots scrambling to get into their ships.
In fact, Naruto couldn't hear the announcer speak or hear any orders from the voice of the commander. Naruto continued to look around but saw no one. He even got on one of the seats to use the gun turrets and didn't even see the enemy ship.
"Ah shit! Don't tell me the game somehow broke in my own head!" Naruto cursed as he slapped his helmet.
As Naruto looked around and prayed that everything was going to fix itself. Naruto suddenly found himself locked onto an incoming ship. Naruto thought the game was fixing itself when he realized it was not a droid starfighter. Rather, it was a big green bulky ship that looked like it belonged in a cartoon.
Suddenly, Naruto heard some static along with the sound of a few voices. This was new, the game never had some kind of communication or chat. Maybe the online version but Naruto never played Battlefront 2 online when the servers were online back in the day.
"Hello? Is someone there?" Naruto asked.
The response he got was some screaming and it made him wince. Naruto continued to look at the ship from the turret's point of view before noticing a couple of droid starfighters shooting at the ship. The ship began to violently swerve before making its way into the hangar bay.
In the meantime, Naruto started opening fire on the starfighters and managed to take them out. Once done, Naruto grabbed his pistol and ran to the hangar where he found the ship had crashed against a wall and began to smoke. When he saw the inhabitants crawl out.
"Hands up!" Naruto ordered.
Then Naruto was shocked by who came out. He saw B along with Ratchet and Clank coming out of the burning ship.
"Okay, that was not my fault." Ratchet said.
"I must concur, that was an odd anomaly we had reached." Clank said.
Suddenly, B had gotten their attention and pointed at Naruto.
"Who's this guy?" Ratchet asked.
"B, is this not your friend?" Clank asked and received a nod. "How peculiar." He said.
"Uh, I'm so lost. What are you guys talking about?" Ratchet asked.
Naruto shook his head and lowered the gun, "B, how are you here? Did DiZ summon us together again?" He asked.
B shrugged before noticing that Crimson wasn't around. As the two conversed in their own way. They saw a ship landing in the hangar bay.
"Uh guys, I don't know what's going on but we have company." Ratchet said as he pulled out his OmniWrench.
Naruto drew his pistol again while B pulled out his own OmniWrench as well. Both then watched as Grievous came out of the ship.
"Oh, this is so not good." Naruto said.
"Not good? What do you mean not good? It's just some robot guy." Ratchet asked, not knowing how dangerous Grievous is.
Then B quickly whispered into his ear.
"What the heck is a Jedi?" Ratchet asked. "Clank, do you have anything in your database on this guy or on 'Jedi'?" he asked.
Clank shook his head, "I'm afraid not. I may require some research.
B then whispered something to Ratchet and Clank with the latter narrowing his eyes.
"I suppose research will have to wait." Clank said.
The boys, including the video game characters, stood their ground as Grievous stepped closer and extended all four of his arms and ignited lightsabers in each one. To make things worse, the group felt the entire ship begin to shake. Naruto looked towards the shield barrier in the hangar and saw a droid providence cruiser.
Seconds later, several droid gunships made their way towards the hangar.
"Hey B, does your friend carry anything bigger than a laser pistol?" Ratchet asked.
B just looked at Naruto who stumbled around in an attempt to look for weapons. At best, he could probably switch to a clone marine which had standard weapons for a foot soldier. However, Naruto knew that would not be enough in this case.
"Ratchet, you may wish to become creative if we are to survive this fight." Clank suggested.
As the battle in space continued, they did not realize that they were not above any alien planet. Instead, they were above the planet earth during the end of the 18th century.
With Crimson
On the surface, after having met a little girl named Maria who claimed to also be a vampire hunter. Crimson and Richter Belmont made their way out of the catacombs filled with mermen and through another hall full of skeleton monsters. Once out, they were outside where they caught a perfect view of the full moon.
That's when they noticed the explosions coming from the battle in space. Although for them, it looked like random flashes of light in the distance.
"What are those? Fireworks?" Crimson asked as she squinted.
"I don't think so. I doubt the townsfolk are celebrating while Dracula is still alive." Richter answered. "Also, the town isn't that way. I doubt they would move just to needlessly launch fireworks." He added.
The pair stared at the sparks when a pair of werewolves arrived and howled into the night sky. Crimson instinctively threw three knives into one of the wolves and made it snarl.
"Maybe we'll save the theories for later." Richter said as he whips the second werewolf.
The two werebeasts barked at their opponents before lunging at them. Richter continued to slash his whip at his werewolf while throwing bottles of holy water at it. All the while Crimson is running across the wall as she avoids the claw strikes from her werewolf.
Once she jumps off of the wall, Crimson turns around and throws several knives at the werewolf. The beast is hit with only two blades before coming close to Crimson who whipped it across the face. Only to then be clawed across the chest and sent crashing against the ground.
Just as the werewolf was about to pounce on Crimson again. Richter threw another bottle of holy water, making it back off. Before helping Crimson up who threw several more knives into the wolf, causing it cry out in pain before dying.
"Thanks, did you get your werewolf?" Crimson asked.
"I did, but I think those strange sparks in the sky are getting worse." Richter said as he pointed at the sky.
Crimson looked up and saw the sparks were getting bigger. Signifying that the battle in space was becoming a lot more intense. Not yet knowing what is occuring far above the sky in the world she is in.
'It's probably some glitch or something. I don't have time for this.' Crimson thought as she ignored the strange phenomenon.
Crimson then looked at the remains of the werewolf before picking up a loose tooth. Sh then followed after Richter who went deeper into the castle. Where they would face the next wave of monsters keeping them from reaching Dracula himself.
