~Attractive Altomare Chapter 16~

~A Plan Forms;Sweet Encounters~

The crowd remained wild as the next battle commenced. Latias led Ash into the makeshift building before turning into one of the smaller rooms. Once inside, she sat him down causing Ash to wince, feeling the broken ribs jostle around slightly.

"Hey, be careful! That hurt!" Ash said with a pained frown making Latias trill unhappily.

'You should be more careful!' Latias retorted.

She reached down, grabbing the hem of Ash's shirt. Latias gently pulled up the fabric. Stopping to admire the cut abs at the bottom of his torso. She shook her head, beating back less appropriate thoughts. Gulping instead, she continued, but Ash chuckled weakly.

"Guess you've got other things on your mind." Ash stated wearily. Latias narrowed her eyes in response.

'If you'd look out for your own health, we wouldn't have to do this.' Latias began to inspect him once the rest of the shirt came off.

Latias saw a damaged area and let out a cry of distress at it. Reaching out, she tapped it lightly as Ash's pain intensified causing him to jerk away under her touch.

'Oh! Sorry. Let me try again. I'll be gentle.' Latias cooed as Ash nodded a little reluctantly.

Latias replaced her hand back in the same spot softly, Ash twinged again. A blue light emitted from her palm which soothed Ash causing him to lean into it. The bruised and purplish skin began to brighten considerably. His breathing also relaxed.

Latias sighed, 'You'll be feeling a few quick successions of pain in a moment.' She warned him, making the healing light intensify.

He appreciated her efforts, jolting once his first broken rib snapped back together. Grunting harshly, Ash let out a heavy breath of pain. This kind of damage could only have been dealt by a great opponent. Brock definitely put a lot of effort into Swampert's training. Battling with Greninja usually took a heavy toll and Ash found himself surprised by how much more it was this time.

He'd done it multiple days during the tournament in Kalos and even that was a pretty horrific trial run. Alain had been one of toughest matches of all time.

Looking over to Latias, Ash smiled, "Sure wish I had you there before in Kalos." He jerked once his body took on another Heal Pulse, "Sure would've made things easier… I was fighting Lysandre with so much pain running through my body…" He finished, slightly hoarse with the effort.

Ash was told that he'd slept multiple days during the time afterward. Now he could guess why because even at this very moment, he very much wanted to pass out. Ash had unfinished business though and asked Latias if she had the potential to heal him. She agreed with no protest after his last performance.

Latias smiled, moving backward after feeling satisfied with her work, 'There… That should keep you going. I wanna recommend that you shouldn't use Greninja in your next round though…' She really didn't want to see him get hurt again.

Ash began to move his arm like a windmill, forward and in reverse before giving a thumbs up, "Heh! Thanks Latias! Now c'mere…" He turned to Latias and pulled her in for a quick kiss.

Latias leaned into it a bit more than she had intended and shoved her tongue in his mouth, pushing him back slightly, 'You know… We've got some time.' Latias suggested to her lover separating the two with a trail of spit lowered between them.

Ash looked at her, blushing lightly, "I want to…" He really wanted to.

But that performance from earlier had still drained him a bit much. Latias could feel that, backing off.

Smiling lightly, Latias nodded her head, 'I understand if you're still tired. Just let me know and… We can give it a shot later.' She finished, leaning back in against him.

Hugging her tightly, Ash enjoyed this closeness. He rubbed her shoulder as Latias snuggled in. Ash closed his eyes, taking in her scent. The ocean breeze had made it a salty tang almost, but the scent of flowers from within the Secret Garden had mixed in with a tinge of sweat. It was soothing.

Ash could sit there for longer if he wanted, but he heard footsteps approaching from the hall. Two sets at that. He could already guess who they belonged to.

Bianca opened the door with Misty just behind her. The two looked out of breath and mortified for some reason. Ash grinned, happy to see them both. Latias let go of her hold on him. Turning in confusion, he was quickly overtaken. Bianca grabbed him and pulled him in for a tight hug. She had even seemed teary eyed, Ash noted.

"Don't you ever do that again!" Bianca shouted, nearly crushing the poor man in her grasp. Ash's freshly healed ribs nearly cracking and making Latias trill in worry.

"Ow! I won't have to worry about doing it again, you're likely to make that happen yourself!" He grunted in pain.

Bianca let go of him quickly, "Oh! Sorry!" She said, but Misty joined in.

"Still, she is right! You really put yourself through hell doing that!" Misty exclaimed, causing Ash to back up in surprise. Latias looked between them all and still found herself agreeing with the two pushing her man back. Ash would take the loss here.

"Sorry Misty… It's just how Greninja and I work. Our bond transcends just simple trainers and Pokemon especially in battle. We become one." Ash rubbed his chest, thinking of the pain he went through today.

"I have to say, it's one thing I really cherish in the heat of it all. Knowing what I go through is what they're used to on a daily basis." Ash adopted a more serious expression, "It feels like an even more equal trade than just training and forcing them to fight." He knew all of his Pokemon enjoyed battling with just a few that didn't. As a trainer, it was right of him to figure out these things.

Misty stepped back, eyes wide, surprised to hear Ash putting so much thought into this. He really had grown in all this time. Bianca clenched her hand tightly, looking at Latias who nodded, stepping aside. She closed the distance between her and Ash again, this time embracing him softly.

'You must've gone through a lot.' Bianca thought, while Ash nodded.

'Yeah…' He trailed off as she continued, rubbing his back with her fingers finding certain points that made Ash shiver.

'I want to speak to you alone. Can you come with me?' Bianca asked. Ash took a look at Latias who smiled and nodded. He embraced Bianca with a smile.

"Yeah, I'd like that." Ash whispered. Bianca leaned back giving a gentle smile before grabbing his right hand and tugging Ash along. Walking past Misty who was completely confused by that chain of events.

"Uh, what just happened? I was hoping to speak with Ash alone…" Misty trailed off. Latias gave her a knowing glance.

'Just take it slow… Ash will have time for you. He's got a big heart.' Latias said, knowing that Misty had already entered into the relationship the moment she got to be with Ash alone earlier today.

Latias was fine with that as long as Ash was happy with it. She loved making sure he was also living his best life. Misty looked at her and sighed.

"I'm just worried. I've seen him fight alongside Greninja before, but it never looked quite so visceral over a screen." Misty said, holding a hand to her chest. Latias tilted her head.

'I see. I'll admit that I felt the same way and still do.' Latias looked Misty in the eyes, 'But… Even with that all in mind. This is Ash as I've always known him.' Latias said, thinking back to the fight against Aerodactyl and how stubbornly Ash threw himself into conflict even when he could have left her alone.

Misty had to admit, Latias was correct. Ash's own stubbornness always had him by the collar for better or worse. Nodding, Misty looked away from Latias, brushing her hair to one side.

"I think I'm going to go for a bit." Misty said, taking one last glance back, "Will you be alright here?" She asked the Bianca lookalike who waved her off with a small smile. That was enough indication for the ginger who left her alone.

Latias watched her leave before sighing, 'I wonder if I could have gotten another threesome if I went with Bianca…' But now she had time to do something else. Perhaps check in on her adopted daughter and son.

As she was about to depart, Latias felt a light tap on her shoes. She looked down to see Pikachu was indeed standing there looking a little awkward.

'And you stayed here because?' She asked the little electric mouse.

"Funny thing about that… I could see that Ash might get up to a bit more than talking with her." He then jumped up as the disguised dragoness caught him midair. Pikachu then moved to her shoulder with a pleased squeak, "So, I figured I'd watch out for you. Speaking of, what do you intend to do?" He asked her.

Latias was actually grateful for the gesture, 'I've got something that's been bugging me for a little bit… I haven't seen either one of my little Eons.' She pointed upward, 'So, I want to find them!' The electric mouse's tail twitched and with a nod, he agreed.

Pikachu nodded, "Then let's do it!"

Together, they raced out the building and pushed past the receptionist who spun around for just a moment. She dizzily made her way back to the desk and took a load off.

"I don't get paid enough for this…" She bemoaned her fate to nobody in particular.

~Pawmazon Business~

James and Meowth had taken this tournament by storm. The products made for Pawmazon were being bought up by the stack. They had practically taken all the big competitors likenesses and thrown them on shirts. It was just like every other big league conference that had ever been thrown.

The thing that got Meowth the most, was just how much the tourists were willing to buy.

"I tink we're makin big bucks, James!" Meowth shouted, pulling in more money than he could count.

James smirked eagerly, "Looks like we'll be able to replace what Jessie spent with all this!" James returned as Meowth nodded with a heavy grin on his face.

Jessie sat in just behind the little trailer they'd rented out. She felt no need to be a part of their money making venture. In her mind, Jessie was just as confused as when they pitched the idea. Focusing her time on other more important things, she'd replayed the battle a few times between Brock and Ash. Looking less interested in each replay.

'I wonder if the boss has been watching all this go down?' This thought was followed by her watching the moon for quite a while. Eventually a door on the front would slam loud enough, signaling a closing time. That certainly surprised Jessie out of her stupor. The back door opened and James popped out with his blue head of hair all messy.

"Jessie?" He questioned making her turn his way with those piercing blue eyes of hers.

"Yes?" She asked, watching as he walked down the backstairs with a folding chair in one of his arms.

"I told Meowth we should close up early…" James figured that they could work most of the next day with little issue. Stopping next to Jessie before continuing, "I was wondering if you'd like to enjoy the night… together?" James asked, setting up the chair and watching her apprehensively.

Jessie was surprised by this, he'd never tried to ask this before. The redhead pondered it for a moment before shrugging and nodding.

Her voice was soft, "I don't see why not." James planted himself in the chair very firmly making sure that it was next to Jessie.

James watched a few stars arching in the sky, wondering what he should say next to his bewitching partner. Jessie had always been a bit tough to read, but he had known her for so long. James looked down, wondering if he was just a coward for not being able to say the right thing at the right time.

Jessie would never show it purposefully, but she did enjoy James' company. Ever since the academy, she'd been practically hooked to his side. They had been through blasting off multiple times and hell the rest of the way. Yet, the few times they had disbanded would always end the same. The trio was forever until death. Jessie wouldn't admit her feelings on the matter except for when she was at her lowest. Now the last while had been nothing but highs.

'Probably shouldn't have thrown myself at Ash like that…' She hadn't considered how James would feel about that. She thought that maybe she could have advanced the job given to them by Giovanni with "firsthand" experience. Of course, that never worked.

Ash had been repulsed and she couldn't blame him. Fighting the same enemies all the time would probably make you think adversely about anything extra.

Jessie crossed her legs, wanting to end the awkward silence that had descended upon the two, "Sorry about the other day, James." She said all of a sudden.

James had to do a double take at that, then he looked up to see if perhaps a shooting star had passed by, but nope. He gave Jessie a stare that could see through thousands of dimensions at once and still not understand what had just happened. Other day? What could she be referring to… Oh! He remembered the incident plain as day.

James was still giving that mind numbing stare as he shunted the words out, "W- What's this about?" Dammit! He already knew what she was referring to, but James needed to hear it from her lips.

Jessie gave him a look of surprise, had he really forgotten? No, couldn't be.

"I threw myself at the Twerp… I didn't mean anything by it. I was thinking of the mission first and foremost." Jessie wasn't lying, but it's not like James would know that.

James' eyes brightened, "U- Uh… Huh…" He brushed a hand through his silky blue hair, trying to belt out a response. Nothing really came up. He was blanking out here! This was not the moment for that! He looked into Jessie's eyes and saw her waiting patiently for him to say something.

'A rare moment where she's not mad at me or saying something awful?! What's wrong with me?! I've always wanted this!' He thought, trying to muster up something or anything!

Jessie figured that he was thinking of something eloquent to say. James had always been like that. Some kind of flaming moron with a heart of gold. At least, to her he did. They were still common thieves at the end of the day. Whatever code of honor they claimed to own was nothing more than something to be ripped away in a net made of some fancy material and taken to a boss who probably didn't care much about it in the first place.

James smacked both his hands on his cheeks not unlike Pikachu, "Break!" He shouted, shocking Jessie out of her thoughts, "I mean… Yeah. I guess I hadn't thought…"

He had actually, "I me- Dammit!" He exclaimed.

Oh-no, she was looking concerned now, "James, are you okay? I had no idea that it hit that deep." Jessie said, hoping to get a proper response.

She looked more confused than anything. James was shaking now, 'Stop being an idiot James! Get your act together! This is your best shot and Meowth isn't here to mess it up.' He stared at Jessie and felt a twinge of regret forming. Perhaps this was the wrong move after all.

Doubt was proceeding to take hold despite his best efforts. Shaking his head, James spoke up, "It's not that big of a deal…" He sighed lamely

Jessie could tell he was lying once his shoulders seemed to droop at that admission, "James? Are you sure about that? I can't possibly believe that." Jessie finished leaning toward her friend and partner in crime.

James could smell the expensive perfume and he wanted to lean in closer, but the man couldn't. Resisting by straining himself, the purple haired gentleman held firm, "Well… You're right. I was bothered, I suppose." He saved himself with that.

Jessie's eyes widened and she slowly moved backward, "Well, why didn't you say something? I would have listened."

'As if it would be that easy…' James thought, moving to look at the stars instead of her beautiful face. His eyes reflected the night sky and for once, the purple haired man wanted to just enjoy this time.

That's when he realized he hadn't answered her because Jessie never broke off the stare she was giving him, "Oh! Sorry! The answer to your question…" He trailed off, wracking his mind before snapping his fingers and surprising the redhead, "To be honest, I just didn't think you'd take it well." He finished with a hesitant look at her.

James watched her gaze soften and she smiled, "Guess you don't know me as well as you'd think." She told the man before turning back to watch the stars herself, seemingly satisfied with that end. James, having expected a worse reaction, counted his own lucky stars.

Meowth watched from a distance, before whispering to himself, "Looks like dey got potential… Heh!" He laughed to himself.

The duo would stargaze for quite a while this night.

~Crescent Inlet Cave~

Several drones were flying through the area, trying to catch sight of anything they could, but their camera's lacked the capacity to see Latios as he teleported around. Popping in and out of existence so fast would do that. The eon Pokemon was actually surprised by the tenacity of whoever had attacked his Sister and Sato earlier on.

Latios disappeared once again before finally showing up outside the cave, 'If I'm not fully careful, those things will find us.' He shivered, remembering the sight of the beach from earlier this very day.

Making his way inside, he saw Sneasel sitting nearby, 'You! How's your trainer?' Latios asked her, but she didn't really respond. The disguised dragon smacked his forehead, she was a dark type. No way she heard his telepathy. Upon closer inspection, she seemed to be snoozing away.

Furrowing his brow, Latios shook his head, 'Guess I can't blame her. They've been through a lot today.' Shifting his attention away from her, he pondered on the next moves to be made.

It had been a good five or six hours since the incident. Latios hoped that Sato might awaken soon. His wounds hadn't been all that deep and as it stood, another few heal pulses might do the trick. Latios walked up to see that Scyther was still down for the count too, but the Heal Pulses he'd used earlier were doing the trick. Scyther's breathing had relaxed considerably.

'And that one had taken the most damage.' Latios wasn't nearly as empathetic as his sister. Yet, he still felt the pain radiating from Scyther right as he plucked him from the sand earlier.

"Hey! Are you done looking over my teammate?" Latios heard Charmeleon loud and clear.

Turning to the fire lizard, he saw a Miltank sitting next to Sato with a worried expression written all over her face. Latios hadn't seen her before. Approaching them, he sat the bag down on the floor. Charmeleon looked up at Latios who nodded. The fire type quickly looked into the bag and saw a rather decent assortment of items. Healing compounds among other things.

He smiled, bowing his head, "This'll help Sato big time! I appreciate your kindness, Latios!"

Latios smiled, 'It's fine.' He placed his hand on Sato's chest and began to apply yet another Heal Pulse.

Miltank turned to him, "You're Latios?! That's the name of a legend. A human can't be a Pokemon!"

Latios shook his head, 'That's not entirely true. Legendary Pokemon have forms that allow them to mingle with humans. Of course, not all Legendaries choose to do so.'

Charmeleon sat down next to Miltank, "It's true. If it wasn't for Latios, we'd be in deeper trouble." He looked over Sato, seeing the boy shaking with sweat moving down his forehead.

Latios was still searching, trying to look into any more troubles that might hinder Sato's recovery. Finding that was proving more difficult due to how thorough he'd been earlier. It must all be in his head at this point. He frowned, letting the light from his palm die down. On the boy's chest were three scratch marks that had healed into a scar.

Charmeleon looked repulsed with himself, "If only I'd been strong enough… I could have stopped this." Miltank reached over to comfort the lizard, rubbing his back.

"Come on, Baby. It's all going to be okay." She soothingly whispered.

Latios' red irises caught the loving act, 'So, you two have something going on?' He asked all of a sudden which caught the two off guard.

Charmeleon blushed just like Miltank did at the same time. The two stared at one another and back at the legend.

Charmeleon spoke up, "Well, kind of…" Miltank narrowed her eyes and he snapped quickly to attention, "Yes! We do." A pregnant silence took hold until the lizard coughed.

Of course, the awkward thought arose, "Why do you ask?" His question made Latios smirk, but then he frowned which terrified the fire type.

The fire waned slightly next to him and Latios put another few sticks in the flame, 'I just wanted to say that you should feel lucky. Having someone to love and be close to is tough to find.' His thoughts went to Bianca and his one sided attraction.

Miltank looked curious, "So, even the legends have love interests? That's hard to believe. Wouldn't time get in the way?" Latios closed his eyes at the bitter idea.

'Yes, it would.' Latios then looked at another part of the cave, opening his mouth to fire off an ice beam.

He only froze a small portion of the floor, but both Pokemon had jumped backward in fright. The sight of them being scared made the legend grin. He reached over for the bag and took out the orange juice which made the two question what he was going for.

'It's like having a fridge.' He floated the orange juice over to the icy platform.

Charmeleon and Miltank collectively sighed in relief. A clattering sound was heard as Scyther began to twitch on their other side. Latios smiled, turning to see that the bug was indeed coming to.

"Urgh… My head. What happened?" He asked drowsily, bringing his scythes to the side of his skull.

Charmeleon frowned, "Take your time. You got hit pretty hard." The fire lizard exposited as the bug type groaned.

Latios spoke up, 'Yeah, you're lucky I managed to heal you.' Scyther looked at him and then back at the fire type.

"And who is this?" The big green bug asked.

A nonchalant reply uttered out, "Just Latios." This made the man with red eyes glare at the fiery lizard.

'I'm, "Just Latios" now?' The disguised dragon reiterated to which Charmeleon swung his arms in protest.

The lizard even stuttered a little, "N- No! No offense anyway! I was just trying to break the news for him! Haha!" Scyther was indeed surprised by the revelation only to shake his head in disbelief.

Bringing the back of his scythe to his mouth, Scyther looked at the man more curiously. It looked like he was navigating his responses before settling on one. Boisterous it would be.

"So you're a real legend? Prove it!" Scyther demanded, but Latios shook his head.

'They're more pressing matters to deal with right now, but if we can make it through. I'll show you.' Latios conceded to the armed bug who seemed to take the response well enough with a huff.

"Fine, but how is Sato? I don't remember him being attacked." Scyther whispered just loud enough to be heard.

Charmeleon's gaze hardened, "I attacked him blindly…"

Scyther's eyes widened, "What?! Really?" He had to look over at Sato again.

Seeing him still breathing made the bug calm down slightly, but then he waved his blades at Charmeleon, "Why would you do that?! He's never treated us poorly! Well, maybe Sneasel…" He trailed off.

Scyther was tapped on the shoulder by Miltank, "Hey! Leave my mate alone! He's been through enough today!" She shouted while Latios chose this time to step in.

The eon wasn't going to deal with this today, 'That's enough! I won't have you all arguing while we've got bigger problems waiting out there.' All three of the Pokemon stopped at his insistence. Though Scyther still looked like he had a bone to pick with Charmeleon, he huffed, turning away in frustration. The bug shook off Miltank.

A palpable silence took hold of them. Miltank walked back over to comfort her lover. Latios wasn't sure how he was going to rally this group. It almost seemed like a hopeless situation.

Breaking the silence was when a particularly strong wave crashed into the entrance of the cave and a screech was heard. All the Pokemon inside turned to see Sneasel being washed up to where they were sitting. The legendary dragon was happy to have some kind of distraction from all the moping and arguing that had almost taken place.

Sneasel hopped up fast, "THAT WAS THE WORST! AGH!" Getting hit by a wave was definitely a terrible way to wake up. She then turned to the others with a small blush of embarrassment. Charmeleon refused to look at her while Miltank hopped up to meet her halfway.

"Baby! How are you? You seemed out of it earlier." Miltank's country drawl was a more distinct sound to the brooding Sneasel.

Surprised that Miltank was taking such an approach to her, Sneasel graciously accepted soothing presence, "It's nothing, I've got a lot to think about…" Sneasel was busy shaking off the water, noticing Charmeleon who glared at her.

"Tch… She already knows, but you're lucky that Miltank is so nice." He finished, angrily flicking his tail.

Miltank gave him a roll of her eyes, choosing to comfort Sneasel anyway. She already knew that Sneasel never listened to Sato in the first place. At least she'd gathered that much from most of their interactions. Being angry wouldn't help the situation, so this would do. She just hoped that Scyther would come around.

Latios was gazing at them curiously, knowing he would have to talk with his native language "And you're all awake except Sato. That's good. Since everyone is here. We're going to need a plan. Whoever attacked you is still looking around the area." The disguised man frowned, "He's also got my sister or I've heard as much." His glare could cut through the Pokemon surrounding him and they backed off once more.

Letting out a quick sigh, Latios shook off the anger, "If he was able to take Latias down, I will no doubt be next on this man's list. I can only imagine that like the story I've heard from Mama…" He shuddered, remembering the vividly detailed story woven by her, "That person is probably going after the DMA."

He still didn't have a clue how anyone would even know about the machine, much less how to use it. For that matter, they were local legends. How did he know that they even existed? It was infuriating to the blue dragon who wanted nothing more than to live a life of peace. Two threats within the last five years were just ridiculously coincidental and he hadn't existed for the first one.

Miltank spoke up, "What's a DMA?" She questioned Latios.

Latios figured it wouldn't matter if they knew, "It's a weapon that defended our town from an evil trainer long ago. More recently, it was used to lock this place down five years ago." He looked saddened and Sneasel almost reached out to him, it reminded her of herself.

"My predecessor died trying to save the town after the events. I was born into this world not long after that. I'm not sure I'll be enough to handle this guy." Latios closed his eyes, clutching at his arm, "But I can't stand the idea of anyone else being hurt." He opened his eyes, feeling a touch of claws on his arm.

What he saw was an angered Sneasel, "We'll pummel this guy into the ground!" She practically shouted.

Latios arched his eyes, a small smirk gracing his face, "Really? You lost to him already. What do you think will happen should you fight him again?" He asked the little weasel.

She grunted, pulling away with no answer. Charmeleon regrettably had nothing to say either. Miltank hadn't even been there for it. Scyther was still remembering his head first collision and didn't want to have a repeat performance. All their thoughts boiled down to the same idea.

'He's right.' It was a resounding and miserable idea. Yet, it was undeniable. He had only sent out one Pokemon and utterly decimated them. Even Latios had to admit, though he had mentioned a plan. He wasn't sure exactly what to come up with.

Charmeleon growled in anger, "Even Sneasel was taken down in a single hit!" That brought Sneasel out of her stupor, "If only I was stronger!" Charmeleon lamented his own weakness. Eyeing Sato, he winced.

Sneasel felt a sudden feeling of anger in her own right, "You weren't weak!" She rounded on him as he arched an eye in surprise, "I should've done better! I just…" Charmeleon never thought he'd hear that from her.

Latios pinched the ridge of his nose, "Stop. Thinking about the past isn't going to help us now." They all ceased at his request. That was when they heard a shuffling noise.

"Unngh!" A voice moaned out as everyone present saw Sato move around.

Charmeleon immediately moved to meet his trainer, "Sato! I know you can't understand me!"

"Actually he can. You can thank me later." Latios stated plainly as Sato turned slightly, but he stopped as a bolt of pain rushed through him.

"Hagh!" He grunted, seeing his Pokemon move in to greet him, all except Sneasel.

"H- Hey…" Sato stuttered as three of his Pokemon hugged him tightly. Latios smiled warmly at this, turning to Sneasel.

"Shouldn't you? You know?" He asked, but she shook her head.

"No. I don't deserve to stand there." Sneasel didn't want him to pursue the topic further and the psychic dragon respected that.

As Sato was finally let go of by his loving Pokemon. He caught sight of the man he'd seen before. His eyes still knew that face. The foggy embrace of his dreams showed those piercing red eyes and his mouth widened.

"Y- You're Latios!" He gasped out.

Scyther looked at his trainer and then back to the man, realizing that everything he'd been told must be true. Latios stood up to approach the young boy. Charmeleon, Miltank, and Scyther moved away from Sato, allowing the legendary dragon to sit next to him.

Latios nodded, "Relax, we've met. At least, you must remember." Sato agreed, wondering why he'd been able to meet both of the legendary Eons. The memories of his experience from just hours ago replayed in his mind. He shook, remembering Benihime, no… Latias' pain.

Only knowing her since the morning, he wasn't sure why it hurt so much to think about, 'I can't stand it… I don't know why, but…' He could clearly see the sweet smile she'd given him many times just this one day alone.

Latios could see them too, not limiting his psychic abilities, "I take it that you both were playing a little too much." Sato was snapped back into reality by that statement.

He looked at Latios, saying the first thing that came to mind, "I'm sorry that I let her get in trouble." He blurted out to the Eon.

Latios shook his head, "No use saying that now. Prove your worth and help me get her back. Also, here's some Orange Juice and snacks to get your energy up." Sato was given the entire container and plastic bag filled with food which reminded him just how hungry he was. His stomach growled and then several more empty bellies filled the area with grumbles.

"Good thing I got extra stuff…" Latios mumbled, watching the Pokemon begin to take several things from the bag.

Popping the cap off the Orange Juice, Sato gulped it down like a man dying of thirst. He then proceeded to munch on some peanut butter crackers. His Pokemon were also chewing away, satisfying their nearly endless gullets. Latios watched as the bag was annihilated.

The disguised dragon motioned to them, "Are you all better now?" He asked.

Sato nodded, "Yeah! I feel more energetic than I've been in a bit!" He grinned, passing the orange juice to his Pokemon who all shared it before looking back at Latios, "Thank-you! I owe you a lot. So…" He trailed off, clenching his fingers tightly. Adopting a more serious expression, Sato leaned in placing both his fists on the ground to hold himself up.

"What's the plan?" Sato asked him. Latios arched his eyes in surprise.

He had never expected a human to bounce back so suddenly, "You're sure?" Sato fervently agreed, moving his head up and down.

Charmeleon spoke up, "That's Sato for ya! He just doesn't slow down!" Sato nodded at his friend.

"While we're sitting nice and safe in a cave, Benihime is in trouble." Sato calmly stated as Latios felt a slight intrigue with this young man. Sato tilted his head, looking at his clenched fingers, "She's been so nice to me even if only for the day I've known her… Of course I'd want to help get her back!" He gave a determined and confident smirk in Latios' direction.

Latios was impressed now. The young man was spouting off like he was indeed ready for round two. However, Latios hadn't come up with any type of plan. Nothing had crossed his mind.

Miltank calmly spoke up, "Baby, you need to cool down a little. Think this through." She pointed out, making Sato sweat.

"I'll do my best! I kinda wish I could understand my Pokemon all the time." Sato turned to Latios again, "So, did you?"

Latios understood what he was getting at, "Actually, I have no major plan. Do you have any ideas?" He asked Sato.

Sato frowned, "I've got two ideas… Of course, you might not like one of them." With that, Latios and the assorted Pokemon would listen in.

Scyther looked at Charmeleon, "So, this is how our trainer operates? As if Latios would agree to the second one." The disguised man agreed with the bug.

Latios was very sure that he didn't like the second idea and he would give his most colorful commentary, "Are you joking? That's what your plan is if we lose? And who thinks I would even agree to that?"

Scyther nodded, "See? What'd I say?"

Sato smiled sheepishly, scratching his head, "I had a feeling that might be the case."

Scyther snorted, "Understatement of the year." Sato ignored that.

Charmeleon joined in on baring down on his trainer, "Probably not the best idea, but if we were in a corner…" He trailed off, remembering his own failure from earlier.

Sato spoke up, siding with Charmeleon on at least the second half of his comment, "I think it would work too if things went south. Besides, if you weren't on the menu… Wouldn't that guy try to go for Tobias?" He questioned the legend who shook his head.

"Who's Tobias?" Latios asked as Sato gasped.

"You've never heard of him?! He's a guy who had two legendary Pokemon! Darkrai and Latios! He beat Ash with only two Pokemon!" Latios was a bit shocked to hear it, not expecting such a man to be here, "Not only that! He won the entire Sinnoh league with only Darkrai for the rest of the matches! He's a beast of a trainer and just came outta nowhere!" Sato explained to the eon who nodded.

"So, if I'm not the only Latios in town…" Latios trailed off.

Sneasel finally broke into the conversation, "That's something! With two, we could beat him… easily?" She was getting glared at by both the fire lizard and her trainer, though his was softer compared to Charmeleon's.

"Sneasel, just…" Sato shook his head, "Just stay quiet. If you want to." He didn't want to be mean, but Sato wouldn't let this one go. At least, not this time considering what it cost them.

Sneasel clutched her sides with her claws in discomfort, stopping another word from coming out. Latios understood that the two would need a bit more time to work things out. When the moment passed, Sato let out a labored breath that he had held in.

Sato gathered his bearings,"It would make sense that he would go after either of you. Though, I'll bet that he invited Tobias here himself with the promise of Ash as his competitor." He pondered out loud while Latios frowned.

"That's a bit of a stretch. Are you implying that to be the reason this whole thing is going on in the first place? Is he just trying to get to me and my Sister. Or Tobias?" Latios shook his head, shaking it even harder, "No! This tournament couldn't have been orchestrated by him. That would make no sense. The contest only started happening a year ago!" Latios exclaimed.

Sato nodded, "To that, I can't be sure. Tournament organizers said that there was a new benefactor running it this year. He could be a part of all this." Sato crossed his arms, "But this man hasn't revealed his name either. So, it wouldn't matter. My whole point is the idea that you're both targets, but I doubt he wants to go after Tobias. I'd think he would go after you because you don't seem nearly as capable at fighting." His eyes fixated on Latios who glared back.

Latios sighed, "Says the kid who got beat by him." Sato grumbled a little at that, but the disguised dragon ignored him, "I still don't like your second plan."

Sato shrugged, "What have we got to lose?"

Latios arched his eyes, "Have you ever watched a whole city drown?" He asked the boy who shook his head.

Scyther choked on his food, "F- For real?!" Latios merely nodded.

"I'm only thirteen… Of course not." Sato suddenly looked more stressed than ever.

"I'm fifteen in human years and I'd like to avoid seeing that happen in real time." Latios stated.

Sato looked horrified by that, "Wait! You've seen that?! Did it happen while you were here?!" The man waved off this as a child rambling.

"Thanks to Mama, I got to see a firsthand recreation of the events from her memory." Latios seemed to deflate upon recalling having asked for it. His Mama was visibly shaken and cut the memory short, "It was chilling. I saw the water coming back to crush the city."

Sato leaned in, "And then?" He wanted elaboration.

Latios looked away, "That's where it ends. Mama never showed us the ending."

Miltank who had gone to comfort Sneasel perked up at that, "Oh… That's not a good sign. I hope your Mama is ok."

Latios never questioned her much further than that. He wouldn't know her full feelings on the matter, but it had ended in her losing a brother. He can't imagine allowing his sister to follow the same fate.

Latios frowned, "Regardless, at least we've got one solid idea. Though, I don't like details of the first encounter."

Sato tilted his head in confusion, "What do you mean? Is it about the way we all got beaten?"

Latios looked like he was lost in thought, but his reply was sharp, "Your memories showed his Pokemon looking particularly fierce." Sato nodded, but Latios pushed on, "I'm willing to bet he caught my sister in the same type of Pokeball that they came out of."

He had seen firsthand the weird looking Pokeball that had sent out the big armored bird. It had been a black coated device with purple inlay. The black aura that the bird was covered in for a moment was very haunting. Seeing his sister's visions had also filled him with sorrow.

Sato shook, "I only saw a brief glimpse… It wasn't reassuring."

Sneasel couldn't listen to that, the mixed emotions in her head wouldn't allow her to stay silent, "I saw it!"

Sato and Latios stared back at her with everyone in the vicinity. Sneasel backed up, but Latios had not heard this from her before.

"You said that you hadn't got to see it all. This was only a few hours ago." Latios bristled up upon hearing this new info.

"W- Well… It was rough, I was still barely awake. I did see him bring out a device to capture her with." Sneasel's discomfort intensified as both Sato and Latios leaned in.

"And the color?!" Latios questioned her Intensely.

"It was black and purple, but I only saw till that point…" Sneasel turned away.

Latios felt more reassured now in his summations. Sato thanked Sneasel for telling them before turning back to Latios. Charmeleon grabbed for Miltank and Scyther.

"Alright, we know what happened, now we just have to act!" The fire lizard finished, practically burning for his next challenge.

Sneasel had her doubts, but she couldn't dwell on them. With everyone ready to go, the plan would be put in motion. The counter attack would commence in an hour.

~Streets of Altomare~

Bianca led Ash down the familiar pathway through the city. Heavy breaths could be heard as she huffed and puffed all along the back alley. Those were intermingled with light giggles that bounced off the walls of the moonlit city. She let go of his hand by this point, but his intrigue had kept the chase going.

Ash chuckled, "Ha! Bianca! What's gotten into you?!" He asked her to which she looked back out of the corner of her eyes with a teasing glint in them.

She graced him with her voice, "I just figured the big bad champion wouldn't mind a nice stroll under the moonlight!" Bianca finally stopped, choosing to turn back to see Ash panting lightly and leaning forward to grip his knees.

Bianca had built up a sweat of her own at this point, but she still waited for him. Pushing her hair to the side, she saw Ash stop leaning forward and stand tall.

He smiled, "I can show you a big bad champion!" Ash replied. He moved forward, but Bianca shook her head.

"No, I don't think you're all that…" Bianca whispered.

Ash closed the distance, "So, you don't think that well of me? Why're you blushing then?" He asked the woman who covered her face in mock offense.

She smirked from behind her hands, "I see that you've gotten a bit cocky since you came back." Bianca pointed out, but Ash shook off the response.

"I might've…" He trailed off, thinking his next tactic out. The wind blew around him as a bell chimed in the distance. Even Bianca was caught off guard by that, the slight chill made her shiver. It wasn't a winter breeze by any means, but being so late in the night and next to the waters of the canal could make anyone freeze up.

Ash noticed it, springing into action and taking his jacket off. He put his iconic piece of clothing over her shoulders. She smiled in appreciation, "T- Thanks… Maybe we should go to my place?" She suggested.

Ash nodded a little too eagerly, wondering what she wanted to speak about. Also, getting out of the cold would be another plus. With that, she'd grab his hand once again. This time, they walked while she stayed bundled up in his jacket.

This walk had gotten quiet all of a sudden. Ash's thoughts were all over the place. It didn't seem like he'd slowed down since he got here.

That's when Bianca spoke up, "So, I've been meaning to ask you… Why did you come back?" Ash looked confused.

"Why do you ask?" He asked her.

"I was kind of curious. That's really it…" Bianca trailed off. Ash started to seriously think about it.

"Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to let you know. I warn you, it's not that interesting." Ash smirked as Bianca looked a bit more interested.

Bianca smiled, "Just tell me what you can. It's going to be a bit before we get to my place anyway." She finished. Ash nodded and began to recount his tale.

It was peculiar to the young man. Too good to be true almost. These particular feelings he'd never felt before had bubbled to the surface right as he thought his travels might end. Winning a league had been all he ever wanted, so when he did get it. It was almost like a certain emptiness had opened up from within. Ash had traveled home and met with his Mom.

She would give him the same warm smile as always and ask him about his adventure. Then he'd regale her with fantastic stories. How his first few days had been so hectic. His rescue of a Garchomp and meeting a Mega Blaziken within a few short hours. She would throw him mixed emotions and berate him for being so brazen. Telling Ash that no matter what, he was still her little man.

"Oh! So, you caused that much trouble just freshly starting?" Bianca teased the man who shook it off.

"Hey! It's not like I expected all that to happen. I just wanted to help." Ash sighed. Bianca stuck her tongue out at him.

"That's just like you. Always helping people no matter what. Helped save our town after meeting us for a few days even…" She turned to Ash, "Aren't you just some type of superhero or something?" She questioned him with a wink.

Ash chuckled lightly, "Well, I can't take all the credit… Technically that was Latios and Latias." He remembered that moment like it was almost yesterday too. Ash wished things could have turned out different.

Bianca agreed, "Yeah… You still did a lot for us in that time of need. I'm glad I was able to thank you eventually." She smirked, blushing a light pink.

Ash couldn't help but blush at that, remembering those few nights ago. That was a vivid memory for sure. Two beautiful women with the backdrop of the Secret Garden and a lot of time. The preamble in the restaurant was also very memorable for him. Ash shook his head as Bianca giggled.

"You can't stop thinking about me and Latias, huh?" Ash chose not to respond and Bianca decided to let him recover, "Well? You wanna continue? I'd love to hear more." So, Ash did just that, but he did more of an abridged version of the events at least until the end of his adventure.

Of course, he told her of his last moments with Serena, Bonnie, and Clemont. How Serena had kissed him and he'd felt nothing. I mean, he still waved good-bye. Sad to see her go, but Ash wasn't feeling himself. His mother would comfort him, saying all sorts of things. Like maybe she wasn't the one or something along those lines.

Ash merely shrugged it off as his mother sighed and the night would go on. He'd do the same routine. Take a shower, brush his teeth, and pet Pikachu for a few hours. This would go on for a few days. Then a few more weeks. Ash had taken to this life, bored out of his mind. He was eighteen and felt like he'd achieved everything, but something was missing.

So, Ash opened his closet. Looking at all things he'd collected over the course of his journey. Several gifts from important people had found their way into this space.

Ash reached inside and pulled out a familiar item. A cardboard tube of a decent length that he'd remember coming from an island city out in Johto. He pondered on it, the name of that place.

He popped open the top of the tube. Turning it over to catch what fell out. A painting that had been made just for him and his little buddy. As he unfurled the paper, it showed just that. The lines were of perfect quality and it had colors so vibrant to the young man that it made him feel a bit warmer inside. He was unsure of why, but something clicked at this moment. Altomare, a place he'd not been to in a while.

His memory's clearly replayed the final moments of his meeting with Bianca. The kiss that she had placed on his cheek before running off into the city. At least, he thought it was her. Though with how silent she'd been, that was hard to tell. Ash had wondered about it for a few days after leaving, but then his focus went elsewhere. The Johto league had taken the forefront of his mind.

Bianca cut back in, "That was definitely Latias. I was still processing things after what had happened." Bianca turned away, "I wouldn't have gone so far…" She looked at the canals while Ash nodded.

"I kinda figured that out later… Or technically earlier this week. She ambushed me." Ash would work on that kind of response later.

Bianca had turned back, "Yeah, I caught the tail end of it right as she was performing…" Bianca reminded Ash who sighed, but Bianca continued, "I mean, I figured out that I had a crush on you too. I realized this only after you were gone." She admitted. Ash was surprised by that.

"Though, I'm not surprised by her ambush of you… Ash, she talked about you a lot." Bianca shifted slightly, trying to stay warm as another gentle breeze made her shake.

"Really?! Was she always like that?" Ash asked as the artist confirmed it to be true with a nod.

"Latias would only show that side to someone she really liked… I may have had to help her in the past with some things." Bianca narrowed her eyes at Ash, "If you'd have visited, I wouldn't have had to help with her heat, you know?" The man grinned sheepishly.

"Sorry to put you through that, Bianca." Ash whispered. Bianca rolled her eyes.

Playing with her hair, Bianca replied, "It wasn't all that bad… I mean, It was a little weird to look at my best friend like that though." Ash's attention was being held firmly much like his hand as she continued, "I know it was a rather short night of fun, but then we kinda kept going. I'd swear she made me into a deviant or something, but no. Just when she's around." Bianca took a look at Ash who seemed to be really invested.

"Maybe I should listen to your stories instead of talking about mine." Ash stated while Bianca merely shook her head.

"Maybe we'll talk to Latias about showing us the memory live. How's that sound?" Bianca asked Ash who smiled.

"Sounds like a plan!" He said excitedly.

Bianca looked a little impatient, "Now, let's pick up where you left off." She told him. Ash nodded.

Ash looked up, "Let's see… Oh yeah."

Ash couldn't avoid attention from the media forever. His home was first assailed by several reporters at first, but then more would show up. Eventually, Delia couldn't take it and had her son go out there to confront them. He did and tried to answer questions as best he could. Of course, one asked him of his future plans. The young man pondered for a moment before remembering a few notifications that he'd received not a day ago.

They had come from Professor Kukui who was wondering if he would be traveling his way. Ash had been told by Professor Oak that this friend of his had been trying to get a hold of the young champion for a little while. Ash had refused, saying that something else had come up and seemed important. So, he told the reporters of his plans to go on a vacation of sorts. To clear his mind before making any further decisions.

Of course, the reporters were not completely satisfied with that answer. They asked him where he planned to go. Ash sighed, but if it made them leave, he'd answer. He told them of his plans to visit Altomare. Of course, this had set off a chain reaction. None of the reporters had expected that, but neither did certain people watching this "Interview". Then Ash told them to leave as he had nothing further to comment on. Shutting the door and sliding down the piece of wood that now separated him from the ravenous crowd outside.

"Wow, you really had to deal with all that?" Bianca frowned, wondering just how he managed it all.

Ash responded with a heavy sigh, "Yeah, I had no idea that so many people would bother me. It had been quiet for a while, but it was every local news crew from Viridian City looking for a scoop all of a sudden." He leaned toward Bianca who reciprocated lovingly, "Honestly, It must've taken them a while to realize that they had a celebrity of sorts so close by."

Bianca replied, "I'll say." Once again, the quiet had taken over. Nothing but the breeze, their breaths, and other voices that were either close or far away to break it.

The two passed by several people who saw only a cute couple passing by. Public displays of affection like this were treated quite normally. Bianca was loving the attention, she'd been waiting for a chance to be alone with Ash for so long that it felt like a relief now. No battling and nobody to really get in their way for a moment. She'd thank Latias properly for this time later.

They were nearing her home, walking up to the door. Bianca let go of Ash's hand to do the typical routine. Searching for her spare key as she bent down to do so. Moving several ornaments, she quickly found it. Standing up, she inserted the key into the tumbler and with a click, it unlocked. Turning back to Ash, she smiled warmly.

"Shall we?" She asked, turning the door handle and opening it. The sound of the door creaked lightly as it swung inward. Ash saw that the lights were off. Bianca beckoned him forward.

"Come on! Are you scared, "Big Bad Champion"? Bianca lightly teased the young man who shook his head and stepped forward. The door closed behind him with a crisp clinking sound as Bianca went for the lights. However, before she could turn them on, she noticed a heavy snoring sound coming from the living room. Recognizing the familiar sound being Lorenzo snoozing away, Bianca elected not to bother him.

"Hey, Ash. We'll just talk in my room, okay?" Bianca whispered to him as he nodded.

"Sure. I don't wanna wake up Lorenzo. He probably worked real hard today." Ash commented, following Bianca up the stairs. Each stair creaked and Ash felt like he weighed more than usual with each step.

'This reminds me of when I carried her up here. Was it always this flimsy?' He wondered while Bianca led the way. He could figure that for himself later.

As the duo got inside her room and closed the door. Ash was relieved to not have disturbed the older man. Bianca looked back at Ash, sitting down on the edge of her bed. The young man realized that they were finally and truly alone. Nobody would bother them.

"So, what did you wanna talk about, Bianca?" Ash asked. Bianca smiled and patted a spot next to her. She clenched at his jacket fervently.

"It's just been a little while since we were able to talk. I saw the note you left for me." She mentioned. Ash blushed a little.

"It was nothing. I just wanted to let you know what I was up to." Ash tried to treat it as if this wasn't something nearly as important. That was wrong. At least, in her eyes.

Bianca shook her head, "I don't think so. It was sweet. I thought about it a lot over the past few days." Ash was giving her an intrigued look, unsure of how to take this information.

"In fact, I wanted to see where this might go. So, if you'll have me along. I'd like to leave with you on your adventure." Bianca had laid that out there, now it was on him.

Ash wasn't completely surprised, "I'd love to have you along, but don't you think this is a bit sudden?" He asked her.

Bianca frowned, "And Misty wasn't?"

That took a turn for the raven haired boy, "Oh…"

Bianca nodded, "You can say that again, but not literally." She quickly added, seeing Ash about to do so.

Bianca leaned over, taking a second to look in Ash's eyes, "I was fine with Latias calling the shots, but Ash…" She trailed off, thinking of what to say, "I think you might be in over your head." She finished, seeing Ash blank out.

Ash sighed, "I just…" Bianca watched him seriously, waiting for a response and he would deliver, "I just don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. It's really not that easy, is it?" Bianca felt for him.

"No, it's not. Sometimes you have to know your limits. It's like when I make art." She moved around on the bed, making it twitch, "Actually, that might not be a good comparison." Bianca put a finger to her lip, thinking of something else to say.

Ash smiled, "Yeah, you can get better at art. I think I could work on making you all happy." His smile was now a grin. An infectious one at that.

Bianca rolled her eyes, playfully teasing him in response, "The big bad champion trying to pretend he's not trying to handle three women at once… To someone else, it'd seem like a dream."

Ash fell backward on the bed, having the unfortunate consequence of taking Bianca with him. The comfy bed squeaked under their combined weight and the two found themselves staring into each other's eyes. The window overlooking the bed was showing a bright moon and soft black skies filled with stars. The raven haired man felt a relaxing calm overtake him as Bianca held his gaze with her warm one.

"Man, I never realized just how beautiful your eyes are." Ash whispered, getting a giggle for his compliment in return.

"You're pretty easy on the eyes yourself." Bianca finished, tapping him lightly on the nose.

This light teasing would continue for a while until Ash's earlier tiredness would catch up with him. The heal pulses took their toll and he would be out like a light. Bianca was still awake and took the time to remove his shoes before getting him straightened up on the bed. She would climb in after making sure he was covered. Sleep overtook her not long after.

~Tournament Building~

As Misty walked through the makeshift building, her attempts to find Brock turned up nothing. Even with Togekiss helping, it seemed like an endeavor not worth going out of her way for. Downtrodden after not being able to speak with Ash already. It just seemed like things weren't going fully her way.

Togekiss floated alongside her until they passed a certain door. Something that made her Pokemon halt in his tracks. Turning to Misty, he quietly pointed at the door.

"You found Brock?" Misty questioned the flying egg who shook his head.

She leaned against the door, but heard something entirely unexpected. Just on the other side was a frustrated man, yelling at someone or something.

~Inside the Room~

"This is ridiculous! Koro, you should have gone after Ash while he was down!" The man yelled at his hired help.

Koro gritted his teeth, "Have you no subtlety?! There were so many people around. I'm no fool!" He shouted back.

His employer growled, but bit his tongue. Knowing that Koro was right, he shook his head, "That's… Right. I've just been waiting for so long." Yes, he could wait a little longer.

He waved it off, looking at his watch, "It doesn't matter though. I've got an idea where Latios is now. They thought they were being careful and I also have Latias here." He grinned as Koro grimaced.

"You're still talking about legends? Crazy man…" Koro watched as the man picked up the odd looking Pokeball sitting on his desk.

"Legends huh? Come on out, Latias." Out of the ball flashed dark energy.

Koro watched as before him materialized a Latias. It shocked him and he jumped back, knocking his chair to the side, "Y- You. It's…"

The Latias looked at him with eyes devoid of anything. Her mind only focused on the pain and rage she now felt. Koro felt like he was about to be attacked by the creature's sheer ferocity.

"Oh, don't worry about her… She's under my control and soon I'll have her brother as well." The man gave a cruel grin.

"I can only imagine the look on his face when he sees her like this." He looked at Koro, "You will prepare as normal for the next rounds and tonight I will personally take down Latios…" He trailed off before looking over some documents he'd managed to find from a certain database.

"This city will be under my boot by the next morning if everything goes well." The Man walked around his desk nonchalantly walking past Koro. A beam of dark light shot out and Latias was gone again. The man opened the door, finding an empty hallway. Seeing nothing off about it, he left the stunned Koro standing in the office.
