The next thing he saw was the ceiling of his bedroom in 'Partys Bar'. He shot out of bed and absently noticed not much of the pain he had been expecting if he remembered how he fell asleep right.

As he ran down towards the bar he could hear yelling and laughing echoing down the halls. Once he got to the bar, he walked in to see a pirate crew drinking and having the time of their lives.

He spotted Makino at the bar talking to two people, one a man who looked to be in his mid-20s, with red hair and a straw hat on his head, and the other a girl a little older than him with white hair on her left side and red hair on her right side split perfectly down the middle.

'Since Makino is being nice to them, they are probably nice people.' Luffy thought with a grin as he ran over.

"Makino!" Luffy shouted as he ran over to the barstool next to the red-haired man. Makino snapped her head over to him as soon as she heard him and immediately started crying.

"Luffy! I've been worried sick! Where were you?! Garp-san told me that he took you for training when he came back, but that was 2 months ago! He didn't tell me anything else, do you know how worried I've been?!" Makino said as she was practically bawling by the time she was finished. Luffy looked at her with a frown.

"Sorry Makino, but that stupid Grandpa just left me there! He took me to some random island, beat me up for a month then told me to make it back on my own!" Luffy pouted as Makino went behind the bar.

"Well, I can't get mad at you for Garp-san's choices. Just sit right there, I'll go make you some food." Makino sighed as she went back into the kitchen.

"Yay! Thank you, Makino, you're the best!" Luffy yelled as he sat down at the bar.

"Dhahahaha! So you're the brat who crash-landed on my ship while we were here drinking, I thought the navy found us with how loud you came down!" The red-haired man said after he slammed his drink and looked over at Luffy. Luffy looked over at him with a confused head tilt.

"Crash landed? All I remember is seeing some pirate ship after my legs gave out, next thing I knew I woke up here." Luffy said to the man as the girl next to him looked at him like he was an idiot.

"You landed right onto the deck of our ship, how are you even able to walk right now?" The girl with the two-toned hair asked. Luffy grinned at her.

"Grandpa's punches hurt way worse than falling from anywhere, I can take 3 of those before I get knocked out," Luffy said with a proud smile as he puffed up his chest. The girl deadpanned at him.

"Why are you proud of getting knocked out?" The girl asked, getting increasingly confused by this boy who randomly dropped from the sky. Luffy completely ignored the question.

"So are you guys pirates?" Luffy asked with an infectious smile on his face. The red-haired man smirked at him.

"That's right! I'm Shanks, the captain of the Red Hair Pirates, and this is my daughter Uta." The now named Shanks explained as Uta waved at him with a smile. Luffy smiled back.

"That's so cool! I can't wait till I'm older so I can set out to sea! But I need to be strong enough so I can protect the people I care about! At least, that's what Grandpa tells me." Luffy said excitedly as he bounced in his chair.

"Dhahaha! Your Grandpa is right! The sea is a dangerous place, Luffy." Shanks said with a somber tone at the end, knowing very well the dangers that lurk in this vast sea. Too bad this only got Luffy more excited.

"That's exactly why I have to go! It's no fun playing it safe!" Luffy shouted with a grin. Shanks grinned back at him.

"So do you have a vice-captain? Every captain must have a vice-captain right?" Luffy asked curiously. Shanks smirked as pointed at a tall man with his hair in a ponytail and a cigarette in his mouth.

The man looked up at them and smirked at Luffy. He made a finger pistol. "Bang" He fired it at him. Luffy smirked back at him.

"That's Benn Beckman, my first mate. One thing about him is a massive playboy and loves women. I mean who doesn't, am I right guys?!" Shanks asked his crew and they all looked at him with a grin.

"Right!" They all shouted back at him. Luffy was in awe.

"What do you think, pretty cool right?" Shanks asked Luffy as he rapidly nodded his head up and down

"One day I'm going to have a crew just like this!" Luffy said as he looked out at Shanks' crew. Shanks lifted his eyebrow.

"Ohh? You want to be a pirate too?" Shanks asked with a smirk on his face like he already knew the answer. Luffy's massive grin somehow got wider.

"Yeah! But I don't wanna just be any normal pirate! I wanna be the Pirate King and find the One Piece!" Luffy declared. Everyone was surprised by his bold declaration. Shanks was surprised too. But then he started laughing at him.

"DHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

"You! A little kid like you becomes the Pirate King? Dhahaha!" Shanks pointed at him while clutching his stomach. His whole crew was laughing hysterically at Luffy's declaration. Luffy was gritting his teeth while their mocking laughter echoed in his mind.

"I'M SERIOUS GODDAMNIT!" Luffy shouted, making them laugh even harder. Makino who just came out of the kitchen, frowned upon what she was seeing.

Luffy was angry while Shanks and his crew were pointing at him while laughing hysterically.

'They must be laughing at his dream' Makino thought angrily.

"I would sooner believe you can sing than you becoming the pirate king" Uta giggled at him. Luffy glared at her, which only served to make her giggle harder.

CLANG!*

Everyone jumped and looked at Makino who slammed a mug onto the countertop. Makino looked at everyone sternly.

"Laughing at a child's dream?! How childish can you be?! No more drinks for you all!" Makino declared, horrifying them. They started bowing in front of her, even Shanks doing it.

"PLEASE, MS MAKINO! WE'RE SORRY! HAVE MERCY ON US!

Luffy can be seen punching and kicking a tree in the forest over and over again with a mad expression on his face.

"Stupid Shanks! Why does he think I'm just some stupid kid? He's so annoying! Stupid Tomato head!" Luffy kept mumbling to himself as he punched and kicked the tree, not processing the fact that each one's leaving heavy indents into the tree.

"Why can't he just take me seriously!" Luffy shouted as he put his whole body, heart, and soul into his punch, sending the remains of the tree flying into another one, both crashing down.

"Woah… that punch felt way stronger than usual" Luffy exclaimed as he was looking from the fallen trees to his hand. He grinned as he clenched his fist.

"I'll show that stupid Tomato head who's a little kid!" Luffy broke out into a massive grin.

"Hahaha! Don't let him hear you call you that or else you'll be torn apart." Someone in the forest said. Luffy whipped his head around to see who it was.

Benn Beckman walked out of the treeline with a lit cigarette in his smirk. He admired Luffy's work for a bit then he turned to Luffy to see him scowling up at him.

"He is a stupid Tomato head! He thinks I'm just a kid who doesn't know anything! I already know the world is scary, Grandpa already told me! That's why I'm training!" Luffy yelled at the vice-captain as Benn just looked at Luffy with an encouraging smile.

"The Captain is just worried about you Luffy. He grew up on a pirate ship so he knows more than anyone how dangerous it is out there." Benn saw that Luffy wasn't satisfied with that, so he continued.

"If you want the Captain to take you seriously, you have to make him see you as more than a kid. He doesn't know you can hit this hard, he just knows that you're a kid who wants to take on the whole world without knowing what you're up against." Benn said with a smile before taking a puff of his cigarette and walking away. Luffy watched him go as he thought about what he was told. A devious grin grew on his face when he got an idea.

Luffy walked back into the bar with a smile on his face, the Red Hair pirates saw him and welcomed him back with cheers of 'The great pirate king is back' and 'Watch out captain'.

Luffy bore it all with a smile as it walked to the bar to sit next to Shanks and Uta. After asking for some food to make sure Makino wouldn't stop him, he jumped up onto the countertop, attracting the attention of the bar.

"Since none of you take me seriously, I'll just have to prove it!" Luffy shouted as the bar descended into chaotic laughter once again, making him scowl and reach behind his back.

"Dhahaha! And how are you going to do that, Anchor?" Shanks asked with a grin, making Luffy angrier because of that stupid nickname. He pulled out the knife he had behind his back and turned it toward him, making the laughter die and Shanks go wide-eyed.

SCHNK*

"OWWWW!"

"YOU IDIOT!"

"That was stupid, Luffy," Shanks told the boy with a concerned frown that was matched by his daughter and Makino as they bandaged up the cut under his eye. Luffy smiled at him.

"I have to prove my courage! Can I come with you guys now? My punches are as strong as pistols!" Luffy said as he was shadow-boxing in his seat. Shanks looked completely bored and uninterested.

"Ehh? Pistols?" Shanks said, barely listening. Luffy scowled at him as Uta giggled.

"What's that supposed to mean!" Luffy yelled at him. He heard a voice over his shoulder and turned to face it.

"It's because you're too young Luffy." Lucky Roo, The rotund chef of the Red Hair pirates, told him. Luffy scowled at him too.

"But it's true! Ask Benn! He saw me knock over a tree with my punches!" Luffy shouted as he turned to the vice-captain. Everyone else turned to him surprised. Benn smirked at them.

"He's not kidding, I watched the kid punch the hell out of a tree for a while until he punched the thing straight into another one. I'm pretty sure the kid used a bit of 'Armament' in the last punch." He said after blowing out some smoke. Everyone looked astounded except for Makino and Luffy who looked confused.

"'Armament'? What's that?" Luffy asked Shanks. The red read grinned at him.

"Ask your Grandpa to tell you. Blehh" He stuck his tongue out at the kid who did the same.

Luffy went to say something else but the door got blown open before he could. He turned towards the noise and immediately had a scowl on his face. He hates mountain bandits.

"Excuse me!" The one who seemed to be the leader shouted. He looked around the bar.

"Heh… So this is what pirates look like, huh? They look pretty dumb to me." The leader muttered to himself. Lucky Roo munched on his meat with a grin while Benn blew out some smoke.

Luffy got bored and felt his stomach growl. He looked around and found a small treasure chest. He grabbed it and opened it, revealing a purple-colored fruit that was spherical shaped, with swirls that go in a curly 'S' like pattern. He hid his expression of disgust as he stuffed it in his face. The fruit was the worst-tasting thing he had ever tasted.

Luffy turned back to see the leader of the bandits smashing the bottle of sake in Shanks' hand to pieces. He saw that some of it went onto Shanks' favorite hat he wears everywhere. Shanks told him that the hat is his most prized possession, so of course he was pissed off.

The combination of Luffy's advanced training with his grandfather, the early initial awakening of his 'Armament Haki', the bond he has with Shanks and his crew, and the emotional stimulation of seeing his friend's treasure get sake spilled on it by an idiot, he awakened something that should've been kept dormant for another decade.

"STOPPPP!" Luffy yelled out and as he did, it felt like a knot he never knew was there got untied within his body. He saw fait trails of black and red lightning going everywhere with all of the mountain bandits going stock-still before their eyes whitened and they all fell over, unconscious.

The entire bar went silent. The lower members of the Red Hair pirates looked like they had just been punched in the gut. The officers were frozen, staring at Luffy with gaping mouths. Benn had a drop of cold sweat on his forehead. And Shanks and Uta?

They were looking at him with the shocked Enel face. You know the one.

Luffy went from staring at the bandits that somehow got knocked out, to the pirates staring at him with varying levels of shock, to Shanks and Uta who looked like you just told them lightning doesn't affect yourself, to his new food on the bar Makino brought out who knows when.

He shrugged his shoulders, sat back down at the bar, and went back to the only thing he cared about now that the bandits weren't messing with Shanks, his food.

Everyone watched in stunned silence as Luffy completely disregarded what just happened like it was another day and started inhaling his food.

"Hey Captain…" Benn started as he was still looking at Luffy with a sweat drop, but now out of exasperation. Shanks was shaken out of his stupor as he looked at his vice-captain.

"It might be a good idea to give Luffy some training so he can control that 'Haki'. If he can't control it, he may very well put the whole island to sleep." Benn said his reasoning for why he thought they should help Luffy. Shanks listened without changing his face and was about to respond when he heard Lucky shout.

"It's gone! The 'Gomu-Gomu no mi' we stole from the enemy is gone!" Lucky Roo shouted as he was shaking pointing at a drawing of the fruit. Everyone took a second to process what he said, and when they did, pandemonium broke out. The entire crew except for the Captain and Vice-Captain were running around the bar like headless chickens. The two exceptions immediately looked at Luffy who was looking at the chest with a confused head tilt.

"Luffy! Please tell me you didn't eat what was in this chest!" Shanks yelled as he grabbed Luffy's shoulders and forced him to look him in the eye. This made everyone else in the bar stare at Luffy with horror on their face. Luffy just looked as confused as ever.

"Yeah I did, it was gross though. Blehh!" He stuck out his tongue with a disgusted expression, which made everyone pale and Shanks grabbed him by the legs and started shaking him.

"Spit it out! Spit it out now!" Shanks yelled as he shook him and as Luffy went to protest, he felt his legs extend and his face hit the floor. Everyone stared for 5 seconds in silence before basically going feral. Shanks flipped him right side up and held his face.

"That's the 'Gomu-Gomu no mi'! It's one of the fruits of the Devil and one of the rarest treasures in the seas! Whoever eats it will turn into a rubber man and will never be able to swim!" Shanks revealed, shocking Luffy to his core.

"WHAAAAAT! YOU'RE KIDDING RIGHT?!"

"YOU IDIOT!"

Yo! 3rd chapter finished! As of now, I have all but one chapter finished of this first saga and I am starting to storyboard the 'East Blue' Saga! If you have any ideas please let me know! I have most of the 'East Blue' planned out in my head or written down, but I'm always open to ideas. I'm also just starting to think about what I want to do for the first few islands up until Alabasta, so if you have anything interesting you'd like to see, let me know!
