Chapter 4: Back to the Castle.
As he started back to the castle, he heard a voice calling him, "Neville, wait up,"
He stopped. And turned to see Evan trying to catch up with him. "Hey man, how are you?"
"I'm fine," he replied.
"You are more than fine," said Evan. "Did your date with the herb lady go well?"
"Her name is Ellie. She's a teacher like us, but at a muggle primary school. She lives in Hogsmeade and is related to Rosmerta.
"But you said she was a muggle," said Evan
"She is," said Neville.
"What are you going to do about the whole magic thing?" asked Evan
"That's the best part. She's related to Rosmerta who owns the Three Broomsticks, so she knows the magical world exists."
"It's good she knows about the magical world, but knowing it exists and experiencing it at two different things. Believe me, I speak from experience. Still, if she has you smiling, she must be special."
"She is," said Neville.
"What's her name? I want the details," said Evan.
"Her name is Ellie. She's a muggle primary school teacher and helps out at Three Broomsticks. She's very nice, funny. She has a lovely dog named Ginger. We're supposed to get together next weekend. I have her number," said Neville
"I think I spotted a problem, mate."
"What problem?"
"You have her number but no phone," said Evan
"Well, don't you have one of those muggle devices? The school has a phone, doesn't it?"
"The school does, but you can't text on a landline."
"It shouldn't be a problem. We are meeting at 12 next Saturday for lunch and to spend the day together. I mean, the school has a phone."
"No one uses those anymore," said Evan. "On Tuesday, I'll let you borrow my phone and we'll come down here and you can call her. You have to get outside the gates for the cell phone to work well. And if we need to, you can get one of those muggle phones."
"That would be great, Evan. Thank you," said Neville.
"You're welcome. I'm just glad you are smiling again."
"Also, you now have to tell me everything about the muggle world. I learned some during the war, and some from watching people at the muggle pub, but I'm clueless about the rest."
"Don't worry," said Evan, "I'm glad to share my knowledge in the pursuit of love."
"Just don't let it go your head," said Neville.
