07/08/2656- Bill for heavy tariffs brought before the Baranuvrin League Council
"Today, a bill to dramatically increase tariffs on goods coming into the Baranuvrin League, a cooperative association of several rimward Asari Republics in Inner Council Space, from the Republic of Armali. This is a response to Armali's continual denial of military assistance to the League to deal with the rising threat of Terminus Raiding Fleets. The main sponsor of the bill, Matriarch Alia M'Lossu, told reporters that "All revenue gained from the tariffs will be used for the protection of the League's members through military grants, allowing all of the Republics to defend themselves even without foreign assistance.""
