8/9/2656- Hierarchy Supreme Admiral Dies

"Today, the leader of the Turian Hierarchy Navy, Supreme Admiral Vercarcic Jafosk, died of heart failure. The decorated Admiral has served the Hierarchy for the last hundred and three years, joining at 16 and continuing his service until the age of 119. High Admiral Yascrit Aralani has temporarily taken the position of the Hierarchy Navy's head until a new Supreme Admiral is decided. The Hierarchy Navy chooses its leader through the Grand Admiralty Council, an assembly consisting of all flag officers in the Hierarchy. Each flag officer gets to vote on the next Supreme Admiral, with each higher rank gaining an additional vote. While technically any member of the Council can be chosen as the new Supreme Admiral, it is standard for them to come from the ranks of the ten High Admirals, consisting of the six sector naval commanders, alongside the directors of the Supply Corp, Naval Intelligence, Personnel, and the Reserve Fleet."
