8/11/2656- Hanar Flagship Decomishend

"Today, the flagship of the Primacy Defense Force, the Star of Kahje, is slated for decommissioning. The venerable heavy cruiser was first built 94 years ago in the Swift Sea Shipyard over the Hanar colony of the same name, and held the position of flagship ever since the decommissioning of the previous flagship Rapid Storm 75 years ago. Six weeks ago, however, the ship was struck by a shuttle at high velocity with its barriers down during a search and rescue mission, causing significant damage. After several weeks of deliberation and debate within the Defense Force Admiralty, the ship was deemed uneconomical to repair, and was slated for decommissioning. The decommissioning ceremony was attended by several high ranking members of the Primacy Defense Force, and was overseen by its supreme commander. The Path To Ascension, a heavy cruiser currently acting as part of the Kahje defense fleet, will take the place of the Star as flagship after its decommissioning. This is only a temporary measure, as it has been decided that the first of the new Eclipse class heavy cruisers currently under construction will be the new permanent flagship once it has been completed."
