It was awkward for quite a while. The soldiers and villagers would look at each other with hate when they thought the others weren't looking, But Naruto could tell they were trying. The villagers were trying to let go of their hate, While the soldiers were trying to show their appreciation for not killing them. But beyond the awkwardness there was shock, shock that they were sharing a meal and partying with their mortal enemies. Thankfully Naruto was able to change it. He spoke to the party and promised the villagers he would free their earthbenders, but that he wouldn't kill a single fire nation soldier while doing it. He then promised the soldiers that they would be welcome to return to their land or stay with them, And that Naruto would offer the same hand of friendship he did to them to any future firebenders he met. After this the real party began. Naruto was given the royal treatment as the honorary Hokage. "Do you have any ramen" was the first thing Naruto asked, Thankfully they did, but it wasn't anywhere near as good as ichiraku's.
The following morning most of the firebenders left, While some stayed to help repair the damage they had done to the village. Naruto was happy, He'd done something good, This is what pervy sage wanted Naruto to do. Naruto was currently looking over the village thinking on what to do next, He'd helped this village he did his part. Now it was time to find Sasuke and go home. To fulfill his promise to Sakura. Naruto started walking through the village greeting the children and the few fire benders remaining as he made his way to the village elder. He was about to knock on the door when suddenly it slammed open. Naruto yelped back "Ahh" the elder smiled "Come in boy, Tell me what you would like, We owe you a great debt. Ask and you shall receive" Naruto went into the to the old man's home and started scratching his cheek "Uhhh, well i could use a map and some food, preferably ramen" the old man said "Of course, But where will you go, You must know that some of the firebenders you set free did not agree with you views and will immediately report it to the fire lord" Naruto sighed "yeah i know, I noticed some guys hanging back during the party and they didn't look to happy that their comrades were partying with us" but then Naruto smiled "But that isn't the point! The point is i- we tried and even if just one of them changed, It was worth it" the elder smiled "You have such a fire in you young Hokage, I hope others get to see this fire that you portray" Naruto smiled "well duh, I'm a konoha ninja, each and every one of us has the will of fire! And now your whole village has it too!" Naruto then told the elder about the will of fire, the elder told Naruto that he would in turn teach this to the villagers.
Naruto gathered his things and the gifts from the villagers and stood at the exit of the village ready to go, He turned around to face the crowd "Now guys i'm not gonna be around any more, so keep training and restock the pranks, So if the fire nation comes back you'll be ready. But remember don't kill them, Teach them, Invite them to your home, Show them true peace" the crowd cheered "Hokage!" Naruto showed a true smile and began walking away. A while later Naruto checked his supplies "Hey! There's only veggie ramen?! That old man! Who mixes vegetables and ramen?"
Sasuke was once again training. But this time he wasn't training with the sword but with fire bending katas with general Iroh, Though Sasuke wasn't a firebender, He could still use the katas to incorporate into his fighting style, And by watching Iroh do different fire bending techniques it inspired him to create new fire style ninjutsu. Currently Iroh was going through fire bending katas with a shirtless Sasuke, Though unlike Iroh fire wasn't coming out of Sasuke's fists and legs. Once they finished their rep Iroh and Sasuke bowed to each other. "Well done Sasuke" Iroh told a sweaty Sasuke, Sasuke still wondered how Iroh could keep up with a teenager like him, Sasuke guessed that Iroh has more skill than he let on. Sasuke thanked him and went to get a towel.
After a bit of drying off Sasuke heard Iroh say "Join me" he looked and saw Iroh sitting down in a meditative pose. Sasuke sighed and joined him. Iroh began "What i'm about to teach you is essential for all fire benders" Sasuke was about to interrupt, But Iroh put his hand up "I know you are no fire bender, But this may work for you if you incorporate your fire style" Sasuke nodded "This is the breath of fire" Iroh began breathing in and out and Sasuke began feeling heat radiate off of Iroh and some smoke coming out of his nose "Fire bending comes from the breath, from the core, it isn't about physical strength or emotion, But control. Fire benders can improve their bending by practicing proper breath control, I believe the same is true for you" Sasuke once again nodded and started gather his chakra, specifically his fire style chakra and began breathing in and out in a steady pace when suddenly Sasuke let out a huge burp and with it a large breath of fire. "HaHaHaHa" Iroh laughed "Impressive" Sasuke blushed in embarrassment "Do not worry, it takes time and control, you must learn to harness you fire without letting it out, Control the fire, Don't let it control you" Sasuke nodded and together they continued
we see bending and chakra being used together for the first time and we see that even though Naruto change change people, some fire nation soldiers are still too loyal to the cause. so some soldiers will l not mention the village while others will tell tje fire lord of a village that rebelled with young child leader that they called "Hokage"
