Naruto had been on the road going from town to town, village to village for nearly a year. It had been quite the adventure, But he hadn't found the two things he really wanted, Sasuke and a way home. Naruto had helped so many people from both Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation, But he couldn't help his best friend. He had beat sense into so many enemies, he was able to change so many hearts, but he couldn't change Sasuke's. With each stop he took the legend of the "Hokage" grew. In the beginning he could walk into a town relatively unnoticed, but now he was just too recognizable. But he figured it was a small price to pay for stopping the curse of hatred and spreading his ninja way. Naruto thought by now he had more teaching experience than Gai sensei. Naruto had been to over 30 towns. And freed over 7 fire nation prisons, which included one on the water, He spent quite a bit of chakra walking over there. And it took even more to inspire the people to rise up. But one thing that made Naruto sad was that he couldn't change everyone. The warden there just wouldn't let go of his hate, so he gave them to the earthbenders. There were plenty more like that warden who just wouldn't change, And as much as it pained him to do it, He's had to kill a few times.
Naruto was currently sitting by his fire in a Forest, his hair had grown out and 2 bangs were on each side of his head. He was also wearing an orange scarf in addition to his earth Kingdom robes. Naruto had turned 14 a week ago, and the village he had been at had thrown him a party, it was his first birthday party ever, it was when he got the orange scarf. Naruto finished his ramen and got down on his blanket and went to sleep.
Naruto found himself in a sewer, he began walking until he found himself in front of a massive cage, Naruto was initially intimidated, but he reminded himself that the fox can't hurt him.
"Hello brat, it's been a while….and a lot has happened since then" Naruto just stared at the massive fox, Into those slitted eyes. The fox laughed menacingly "you won't be able to do it" Naruto stopped and asked "what?" The fox bent down to his level "It's in human nature to hate, you can't stop it" Naruto realized what he was talking about "Oh yeah! I'll prove you wrong and break the cycle of hatred, Believe it!" The foxes laughed out loud "The cycle of hatred has been here long before you came into your pitiful existence and it'll be here long after, I've only known one man able to stop it, and he wasn't even a Man, he was a GOD." Naruto smiled and excitedly asked "Really what was he like? How did he break the cycle of hatred?" the kyuubi responded "You aren't worthy to hear a thing about him, And even if I told you, you couldn't achieve what he did *softly* no one can" Naruto then said loudly "Yeah! Well I don't need it, I'll break the cycle my own way "Naruto style" believe it!" The fox grunted. Naruto began walking away, Then stopped and turned around. "You know, if I'm gonna break the cycle of hatred, then I gotta get rid of the hatred in me. In other words. You, so I'll be back one day, Yo deal with all that hatred inside you!" Naruto then disappeared leaving an annoyed and intrigued fox
It was morning in the forest and Naruto started walking on a path towards the next town when suddenly a bunch of kids jumped out including a kid around Naruto's age with hooked swords and a straw in his mouth "What are you doing in our forest!?" he yelled and Naruto just smiled "Well I'm walking to the next town" the kid took his swords out of his belt "Leave! Immediately" Naruto looked confused "What? It's just a forest, I walk through them all the time and camp out in them too? What's different about this one?" The boy was getting annoyed and he was about to charge when suddenly a boy looking girl with paint marks on her cheeks grabbed his arm "Jet, look at him, The blonde hair, Whisker marks, Orange scarf, it's him. The Hokage" she said in awe. Jet turned towards Naruto and looked in shock, he dropped his swords and said "Hokage is that you?" Naruto just smiled "Yep that's me, so can I walk through the Forest?" Jet stammered "oh, of course you can sir, Hokage sir" Naruto waved his hands around "Just call me Naruto, Hokage is just when I'm on duty" Naruto said with a giggle Jet just nodded a little confused as this was nothing like what he expected the Hokage to be, He expected a mighty ruthless warrior. But then Jet started plotting, If he could get the Hokage to join his freedom fighters they could kill every fire bender on earth Kingdom land. Jet smiled cooly "Naruto how bout' you come with us, we're freedom fighters. This is Smellerbee, Longshot, Pipsqueak and the Duke *pointing to each respectively* we could show you what we're doing in our fight against the fire nation" Naruto smiled "Sure that sounds great!" Naruto ran off towards the other freedom fighters, leaving a smirking Jet.
