CH.2 Opened Eye-holes

[Spooper's spotlight]

Oh, Spooper… Such a simple, yet complex creature.

Spooper hadn't had much expectation of what or where it would open its eye-holes to, in this case, it was a ruined down alleyway. Blurred, hard to make out, it was. Spooper slowly rose up. Not having arms, it was almost a bit impressive how it looked to have no problem simply lifting up its upper half to sit up while being disoriented and in a visible daze, its eye-holes being in an expression of tiredness. Spooper sat up and looked to the left and right, no sign of life was in its sight. Deserted, this place looked… Spooper's eye-holes slowly changed to its natural expression. After a couple of minutes, Spooper finally stood up. The peculiar thing about Spooper, is that in public it mimics the walking of your average human, though in private Spooper likes to hover. Spooper's feet rose a couple of inches from the ground, its back arched a bit to the direction it was going to hover.

Spooper slowly hovers out the right side of the alleyway. No signs of threats are to be seen, for now. Spooper had come to a conclusion that this city seems to be abandoned, ghostly, even. This conclusion was soon proven wrong as Spooper can't help but hear sounds of clashing and violence. This gives Spooper the signal to be on the lookout, as this place is obviously unsafe.

About ten minutes had passed, Spooper just slowly hovering street by street… This was visibly boring Spooper, until it saw a far-away person, jumping from building to building. Making this seem a bit more interesting. Spooper wanted to see if there were more interesting things happening here… That's when a strange realization hit it.

This isn't just any nearly abandoned city… It had some sort of familiarity, the same feeling when Spooper saw the raven, though it felt like a completely forgotten memory beyond remembering. Before Spooper could explore further, a strange voice came from behind. "Why hello there!" Spooper's feet went back on the ground, not hovering anymore. Spooper rotated slowly, not moving its legs or feet at all. Once it was facing toward the person behind, Spooper saw a quite tall fellow with a blonde ponytail, big square eyes that seemed to be unreal, a big odd grin, and… the same raven that Spooper saw back in Agriculture class..? Spooper was frozen, when it comes to eye contact with potential threats, it doesn't move at all. Quiet, simply standing there in worry. "Well how are you doing?" "Not quite the talker, are you?" "You don't seem like a human, are you?" The person tried initiating a conversation, yet did not get an answer. "Quite the quiet one… aren't you." The person eventually quit trying to make Spooper talk. "Well, how rude of me to not introduce myself first! My name is Karl, and you..?" Spooper still couldn't talk back, even if it wanted to. Karl realizes that he cannot pull Spooper into conversation to distract it and get any directions or help. "Well… if you won't be of any use, I'll just have to get rid of you early…" Before Spooper could react, the raven by Karl's side had swiftly morphed into a sharp sword-like shape. Spooper did not have any movement or reaction, all it felt was pure shock, and a sting to its side. Spooper immediately disappeared on contact with the weapon. No puffs of smoke, no special effects… Spooper was gone from thin air.

Karl's attack was a success. An easy success… Too easy of a success…
