Operation NATO

Across the clear blue sky, a single carrier-based aircraft left trails from its wing tips. It had a special delivery to make as it flew over the sea and across Sakura Empire and Iron Blood territories.
Battleship Nagato's fox ears twitched and perked up, and she smiled slightly as she looked up at the plane soaring above her lands.
"Ara, special delivery~?" Akagi too noticed, lowering her tea cup as she sat in perfect seiza a foot behind her small leader.
"Indeed." Nagato replied and she raised her hand in time to match the envelope that fluttered down her palace's front yard, with Akagi providing a paper plane to catch the envelope, then willing it back to her hand.
"Here, Lady Nagato~" The taller kitsune said, offering the letter to the smaller fox with both hands.
Nagato giggled and took the letter, she and Akagi once again looking up at the plane now soaring towards the next territory.
At the other side of the ocean, the aircraft veered towards its next destination, catching the beautiful, playful and sensual gaze of the Iron Blood seductress Prinz Eugen, as she stood outside the church, and her ever faithful turrets tilted their maws up at her and she giggled.
"Special delivery~" She said to herself and she lifted her index finger as the plane flew overhead, and one of her "pets" shot straight up to catch the envelope out of mid-air once it was within its reach, yet it did so carefully.
It steadily retracted and Prinz Eugen held her hand open, and the sentient weapon carefully placed the letter in her hand, which she then held with her index and middle fingers.

Prinz Eugen then strutted into the church, sway to her majestic, model-like hips and all, open the double doors with admittedly unnecessary flourish.
"Lord Bismarck. Special deliveryyy~" Prinz Eugen sing-sang and the mighty pride of Iron Blood turned around where she stood, her beautiful black and red with white fur coat fluttering with the motion.
Then, at the Azur Lane HQ, within the office of the small ruler of the Royal Navy, Warspite held in her hand the same letter Sakura Empire and Iron Blood received, presenting it to Queen Elizabeth, who smiled, leaning back in her large, cozy throne, a tea cup held in her hands with her signature royal poise and elegance.
"Your Majesty." The Queen's right-hand kanzen nodded. "Special delivery~"
"Well, this should be interesting. What might she be planning, hm~?" The small blonde nodded after taking a sip of her tea.
"Let's read what she proposes, then." Nagato said as she opened the envelope, with Akagi smiling as she looked over her tiny leader's shoulder.
"If you please, Eugen." Bismarck said calmly, passing her right-hand kanzen a letter opener, which made the silver-haired woman giggle but take it and cut the Eagle Union seal in the front of the letter.
"As you wish, Milord~" She replied and then, she began to read, and so too did Nagato and Queen Elizabeth.
"To the great leaders of the Royal Navy, Sakura Empire and Iron Blood. This is Supreme Commander Enterprise of Eagle Union. Thank you for your attention today.
The Crimson Axis War is over. Together, we prevailed. Through pain, blood, sweat and tears. We hurt one another. We suffered. We inflicted upon each other great harm as we were all manipulated behind the scenes by the Sirens.
Humanity was pushed to the brink of extinction. Entire cities were vaporized by terrible weapons beyond our comprehension. And yet, we survived. We prevailed. We banded together, we fought side by side in our darkest hour.
We won...yet as much as I would love for us to all lay down our arms and live as regular women...I'm afraid we can't. We can't let our guard down. We lost so much, but I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that if we take this peace for granted, if we are not ready, we will all lose something we can't get back.
I hate to say this, but the Sirens will be back. It's not a matter of if, but when. We fought them back before...but that was just a test.
I believe with every fiber of my being that the Sirens were putting us to a test for something only they comprehend. They will be back. They will test us again.
And when, not if, that time comes...we must be prepared. We must stand united, ready to take up arms once more. We must be united, and I have a plan to achieve just that.
Through battle, through blood and pain, we gained something great. We gained friendship, camaraderie...even love. And I believe now, after finally seeing what I have seen, felt what I have felt, that love will make us all stronger.
Therefore, I ask of you, my friends, great leaders Nagato of Sakura Empire. Bismarck of Iron Blood. Queen Elizabeth of the Royal Navy, to assign a representative for a very special joint operation.
Listed below are three names. One kanzen per faction that I believe will be perfect for this very special joint operation.

"She's full of surprises, hm? Alright. You shall represent, indeed. Do us proud...Belfast~" She turned looked beside her and the cruiser had a bit of a coy smile and a sassy look on her beautiful face as she did her signature curtsy where she stood just beside the door to Queen Liz's office.
"I will, Your Majesty~" She winked and she looked down with pride at the ring she donned on her left gloved hand. It twinkled with the sunlight coming in through the window to Liz's office.
The following day, the minutes ticked down on the clock on the wall of Supreme Commander Enterprise's office, and she fidgeted where she sat on the stool in front of the vanity she had installed just for this occasion as her beloved fianceé and the representative of Royal Navy stood behind her, carefully combing and brushing the glorious snow-white mane of the pride of Eagle Union.
"Breathe, darling. Breathe~" Belfast cooed in her thick accent, and Enty did as instructed.
"Haaah...thanks, Bel. I'm doing my best not to crumble under the pressure. This was my idea. I have to see it through." Enterprise reached back with one hand, the other resting on her own knee, and Belfast immediately caught on so she put her hand on her future wife's shoulder, where their fingers met and intertwined. Enty looked back at Belfast in the reflection in the mirror with a grateful gaze and smile.
"Thanks, Bel. For believing in me and my...um...wild idea."
Belfast gave Enty a tender gaze, still brushing the beautiful curtain of white hair, smiling as she saw Enty relax a bit further.
"You have done far wilder things before, darling. I will be there with you, not just as the Royal Navy representative, but as your future wife and~your maid, Supreme Commander Enty-sama~" She cooed and Enterprise herself gave a chuckle, music to Belfast's ears.
"And...there. That should do it." Belfast then stepped back and put the finishing touches on her beloved's outfit, and Enterprise, blushing brightly yet still calm, reached up to touch up Belfast's maid headdress.

"Alright. Ready to make history once more, Supreme Commander~?" Belfast cooed and playfully nudged Enty's hip with her own, making her giggle. The American then grabbed her signature hat and carefully placed it on her head, obscuring what she wore initially on her head. She adjusted her hat and then gave Belfast's hand a gentle squeeze.
"I chased a doomsday weapon at near hypersonic speed and shot it out of mid-air while I fell to my death yet again. This will be a piece of cake. A piece of cake~" She joked and Belfast actually giggled.
"Oh darling~" Then, she couldn't help it. She leaned in for another, sweet and gentle kiss. "For luck."
"...thanks, Bel." Enty blushed and nodded.
Then, Enterprise opened the door to her office and she and Belfast headed out.
The short distance to the meeting room was walked in silence, with several Eagle Union and Royal Navy kanzen passing by them along the path, and they all smiled and gave silent salutes, showing their respect and support for this joint operation they had been informed of. Some assumed what would happen, others, the more innocent kanzen, didn't quite get it, which was fine either way.
Enty did blush as some of the...saucier girls that they walked past gave she and Belfast some winks, but she kept a firm and stoic face, much to Belfast's grinning delight.
Then, finally, they reached the designated meeting room that would see their true alliance form, and Enterprise and Belfast gave each other a nod.
"This way, Supreme Commander~" and ever the devoted, dutiful maid, Belfast was the one to open the door for the American.
The snow-haired ship girl giggled and nodded before she stepped inside, and she gave nods to the two other occupants of the room, one of them giving Enty bedroom eyes where she sat on a comfy armchair just beside the king-size bed of black, red, blue and white sheets and pillows that could fit at least four people and then some, and the other giving she and Belfast a winning smile where she sat at the edge of said bed.

Then, Enterprise gently squeezed Belfast's hand and nodded at her. The cruiser giggled and let go of her hand, gave a curt bow, and headed towards the bed, sitting down at the edge of it next to Akagi with her signature elegance. Enterprise stood tall and firm, hands behind her back.
"Ladies. Thank you for coming today. I know we are all..." her gaze went to Prinz Eugen, getting a wink from her, then she eyed Akagi with a soft look and a slight smile, getting a, well, foxy smile from her. "Eager to get things going...but I have a few details to give before we start."
"Belfast, representative of Royal Navy. Prinz Eugen, representative of Iron Blood. Akagi of Sakura Empire. Your words today carry as much weight as your great leaders' own. This..." Enty then closed her eyes and took a breath, steadily letting it out. "Is Operation NATO. This is an alliance between all our factions. To support one another, to protect one another. To fight together against all who will want to tear us apart. To pick each other up when we fall, to guide each other back to the light when we go astray." Enty looked first at Belfast, then Eugen, then Akagi at last, getting a tender smile from her.
"With all of your support, we shall no longer be known as just Azur Lane. We shall form an alliance known as NATO, which shall stand for..." then, Enterprise took a deep breath and held it, readying her next words. Belfast, Akagi and Prinz Eugen all leaned forward a bit, hanging onto their Supreme Commander's every word and what she would declare this alliance to be named specifically...
Then, Enterprise said...
Outside the base, a seagull gave a skwawk as it flew to the sky from its perch on a wooden dock.
Inside the room with a fantastic view of the now moon-kissed ocean outside the port, Akagi, Prinz Eugen and Belfast gave matching "Ohhhh~!"'s of awe and admiration, and Akagi even clapped.

Prinz Eugen snorted and Belfast elegantly suppressed a chuckle.
