I Wish…

CHAPTER 1

Hello Family! I just could not stop myself from starting a new story. I know I have been away for some time now and I thank you all for continuing to follow and support me. I so appreciate it. You guys know me, I like to write outside of the box. This story just kind of popped in my head. So after watching a few episodes of Scandal it started to come together. I will be loading shorter chapters to keep the expense going. There will be many cliffhangers because I love to read the reviews and the thoughts you all come up with. They are truly the highlight for me. I finally can admit the reviews pushed me to write more. Let's get it!

A story of two people with similar but opposites backgrounds; Fitz from a toxic 2 parent upbring and Olivia from a loving 2 parent upbringing; sometimes wished they never met, but can't stay away from each other. Fitz with a loving and kind personality, but hidden anger, and Olivia with a hard and uncaring personality with hidden fears. Will their clashed personalities stop their deepest wish from coming true?

Happy Reading!

DV- DISCUSSIONS AND EVENTS IN THIS CHAPTER…

Fitzgerald Thomas Grant III aka Fitz, sits behind his large desk overlooking his large established gentleman's Club (Access Granted) thinking about how far he had come. His upbringing was not an easy one, nor was his adult life but here he was at 30 years old. He had made it. He finally fulfilled a wish that he had come into fruition. He only wished he had someone to share his accomplishments with. His younger brother Lance Hamilton Grant was not on his list of people he trusted to do that with due to his immaturity and lack of self-discipline. Lance was a hot head and very impulsive. He claimed to be happy for him and his accomplishment, but Fitz was not convinced. Their childhood played a big part in why Fitz felt the way he did about his brother.

The Grant home was a middle-class family. Fitzgerald Thomas Grant II aka Gerry was a proud man, but an abusive one too. Mary Gloria Grant was a beautiful yet humble woman. She had given up her career as a ICU nurse to be a stay at home mom. Not willingly though. She was 37 years old when she finally became pregnant with Fitz. Gerry was a Real Estate Agent who sold only the most exquisite homes after realizing he had the gift of gab that came with a big personality and a narcissistic trait that he used on everyone he encountered including his wife and children. He unfortunately lost his life at 54 years old when Fitz was 17 years old, and Lance was only twelve.

Lance unfortunately was not Mary's biological son, but the product of one of Gerry's many affairs. Two days after Fitz turned five, he was introduced to his new little brother. The only problem was he never remembered his mother being pregnant.

Mary was the now in prison for killing her husband serving a 15-year sentence for involuntary manslaughter. The burden of what happened that night plagued Fitz every day. The bruises, the beatings, the fear in her eyes every day. He just could not understand why the judge threw the book at his mother when she was the victim of being abused by her husband. His mother swore him to secrecy about that night as she completely opened up to him. She made him promise to always look out for his brother and never refer to him as his half-brother. She never wanted Lance to know that he had a different mother because she was not sure what Gerry had done to her or who she was. She, however, had her suspicion after watching the news the following day Gerry came home with Lance. He was a week old with green eyes like Gerry. Fitz had blue eyes like her and favored her in the looks department too. Lance of course looked like his father's twin.

The following morning, after Gerry came home with Lance. There was a breaking news story of a 29-year-old woman found dead in an empty unoccupied home. All they knew at the time was the burned body was that of a female. There was nothing left of the body except a few teeth, because most were missing. It was no coincidence to her that Gerry suddenly comes home with a new baby, that he claims the mother of one of his many affairs left him with and did not return. Something on the inside told her that the woman in the fire was the mother of this child. She was too afraid to ask more questions and not accept the child because she did not want to get beaten or strangled near death by her evil husband. Lance was none the wiser. All he was told was that their father was beating their mom and as she tried to escape his abuse, he held a gun to her head, she turns to defend herself by grabbing the gun causing it to go off. Shooting Gerry in the head. Lance secretly hated his mom for killing his father and best friend, but he held his hate deep inside. His actions, however, showed his emotions at times. He was a womanizer just like his dad, but he did not use physical abuse, but mental. He was also spoiled and did not like to be told no. He was careless and often times reckless, leaving broken hearted women in his path.

Their father's life insurance policy was only $100,000,000 and was denied due to his wife being the primary beneficiary and the suspect in his murder but was finally released to Fitz when he turned eighteen as a secondary beneficiary. Fitz on the other hand was angry with his father, even in death. His heart and guilt for not protecting his mother plagued him. The secret he carried weighed on him. His trust in relationships scared him. His desire for commitment escaped him. It never really crossed his mind.

A knock on the door brought Fitz out of memory lane. "Enter." He stated. Lance walked into his office standing tall and cocky. "Bro, why are you sitting up here when the party is down there? These rich muthafuckka's are spending big money to just look important." Fitz releases a breath before speaking. "Lance what is it you want?" "Damn bro, I'm just checking on you. You coming down soon?" Fitz stands to his feet. "Yeah man, I was just having a moment to myself before I entertain our quests." They walk out of the office together when Fitz turns to his brother. "Look Lance, please don't sleep with the staff and don't get drunk. This is our second month being open, and you've already sleep with two of the staffer's that I had to let go and let's not have another drunk episode like our first night." Lance chuckled. "I hear you bro, I'm good." Fitz pats him on the back as they make their way down the glass elevator.

Olivia Caroline Pope was thankful for this day. Today was her birthday and she was now 30 years old. She wished she had done things differently and shared with her parents the abuse she suffered at the hands of her boyfriend of two years Phillip King before their passing. Phillip was a court clerk by day and a fake gangster by night. He pretended to be someone he was not. He was also abusive to Olivia. His manipulative personality had Olivia brain washed to her being the reason for his abuse. The day after she buried her parents who were killed in a car accident when her dad fell asleep at the wheel and was hit head on by a simi truck, she was asked by her only grandmother aka granny Pope to come and live with her. She expressed her concern for Olivia after meeting Phillip. She immediately didn't like him. She could see the darkness in his eyes and his energy was off to her. Olivia promised her granny she would think about it.

The following week after her parents' death, Phillip hadn't come home until the following morning and when Olivia asked the question where had he been? He argued with her about asking him questions. He told her he was a grown man and could do as he pleased and she had no say so. Olivia, having just confirmed she was pregnant, decided not to engage any longer in the conversation knowing it would lead to him physically hurting her. This angered him more. "You don't hear me talking to you!" He yells before snatching her by her long thick hair, yanking her to the floor. Olivia screams as she hits the floor. She quickly contorts into a ball to protect her stomach and her child. He began assaulting her by slapping her in the face. "See what you make me do!" He continues sprouting. "I'm sorry Phillip, I just don't want to fight with you." She pleaded. "Yeah, you're sorry alright." He yells while standing and with all his might kicks her in the back as she used her hands to protect her face. She grabs her back where his foot landed, he raises his foot again stomping her in the stomach. Olivia loses her breath before screaming out in pain. "I'm pregnant Phillip please don't!" He freezes. "You're what?" He snares with his face contorted.

With tears in her eyes, she repeats "I'm pregnant, please don't hit me anymore." He becomes even angrier. "You stupid bitch, if you lose my baby I'm going to kill you." He mushed her head and walks out of the house, slamming the door behind him. Olivia takes a moment to get herself together before slowly and painfully getting up. She was unable to stand upright completely but continued to make her way to the bathroom. She could feel the wetness between her legs. She knew she was losing her baby and if she did not get help now, Phillip would truly kill her. She slowly made her way back to the living room to find her phone to call 911.

She did in fact lose her 34-week-old baby boy and the bruising on her told the medical staff why; they called the police. For the first time since receiving the first slap from Phillip she told the truth. Phillip was later caught and arrested and charged with DV and man slaughter for the death of their unborn son. He received 18 months in prison plus 2 years' probation. Olivia moved in with her granny once released from the hospital.

That was two years ago. She now lives alone but checked on her granny daily. She flourished in her career as an Account specialist in finance and business. She helps new businesses by giving loans towards owning and establishing their start-up. She had a large clientele with some of DC's newest elites. Business was good. The double life insurance left by her parents put her in millionaire status with both policies two million apiece.

Even though she didn't want to entertain she promised her best new best friends Abby and Quinn she would go out with them tonight. There was a new club she helped a client financially establish and decided to check it out. The new business owner Fitzgerald Grant was someone she would never forget. She only hoped she would run into him tonight. She decided since she only had 3 hours before she met up with her girls she wash and flat iron her hair.

Just as Olivia was putting on her final changes Quinn called to explain to Olivia that her babysitter had an emergency, and she couldn't go. Then Abby called and said she would be late because her plane trip was delayed. This left Liv alone on her birthday. She decided to go out anyway, grabbing her purse and heading out of the door. She arrives at Access Granted about 20 minutes later. She decides not to use valet parking and parks on the street instead. She walked half a block and made her way to the club. After the four people ahead of her entered it was her turn. "Name?" the bouncer asked. "Olivia…Olivia Pope." "Thank you, Ms. Pope, will your other two guest be joining you?" Liv thought about it for a moment. "Yes, please leave their reservation open." The bouncer nodes. "That'll be $50 ma'am." Liv pulls out her card and swipes the machine the guy was holding before he allows Olivia inside.

She looks around as she enters. The inside is very exquisite and upscale. There is a live band playing on a large stage, and a long bar with private tables and a dance floor. Liv took a seat at the bar. "Marqarita, neat please." The bartender smiled and prepared her drink. Once it was placed in front of her, she took the olive and slowly tasted the liquor around it before pulling it from the toothpick. Her eyes traveled to her left. That is when she saw him at the end of the bar. Fitzgerald Grant.

A/n: There it is everyone. Please leave a review. Until next time…
