Loki Lucy
A Chorus introduces two feucing families of Verona, the Spirit and the heartfelia. On a hot summer's day fighting by the young men of each faction is stopped by the Prince who threatens the law. Heartfelia plans a feast to introduce for his daughter, Lucy, who is almost fourteen,
to the Count Natsi who seeks to betrothed her. By a mistake of the illiterate servant Max, Spirit's son, Loki and his friends Grey and the Prince's cousin Sting, hear of the party and resolve to go in carnival disguise. Loki hopes he will see his adored Yukyno instead he meets Lucy and it is love at first sight.
The Spirits are recognized by Lucy's cousin Rouge and are forced to leave the party just as Loki and Lucy have each discovered the other's identity.
Loki fingers near the Heartfelia house and talks with Lucy when she appears on her balcony. With the help of Lucy's Nurse, the lovers arrange to meet the next day at the cell of Rufus Lawrence when Lucy goes for confession and there Loke and Lucy are married
Rouge picks a quarrel with Sting and his friends and Sting is accidentally killed as Loki intervenes to try to break up the fight. In anger Loki pursues Rouge, kills him and is banished by the Prince for the deed Lucy is aware and concious that Loki late meeting her and learns of the fighting from her is Nurse. With Rufus Lawrence's help it is arranged that Loki married Lucy in secret and spent the night with Lucy by making love before taking refuge at Mantua.
To calm the family's sorrow at Rouge's death the day for the forced bethrode of Lucy to Count Natsi is brought forward .
Heartfelia and his wife are angry
that Lucy does not wish to be betrothed to The Count as none of them not know of her secret contract with Loki. Rufus Lawrence helps Lucy by providing a sleeping draught, when the betrothed party arrives to greet Lucy next day they believe she is dead The Rufus sends a colleague to warn Loki to come to the Heartfelia family monument to rescue his sleeping wife.
The message miscarries and Loki hearing instead that Lucy is dead, buys poison in Mantua. He returns to Verona and goes to the tomb where he surprises and kills the mourning count. Loki takes his poison and checks just as Lucy awakes from her drugged sleep. She learns what has happened from Rufus Lawrence
but Lucy refuses to leave the tomb and stabs herself as the Rufus returns with the Prince, the Heartfelia and Loki's lately widowed father. The deaths of their children lead the families to make peace, promising to
build a monument in their memory.
