Chapter 0 Prologue: The summoning of the Nameless Auburn Hero
One simple day, Ritsuka Fujimaru was humming calmly through the halls of the Chaldea until he reached the Summoning Room.
Ristuka: "Alright, I wonder what I will get today! I got a lot of Saint Quartz thanks to the last events and my constant saving and my…" Just then, Ritsuka shivered from remembering all the constant grinding he did "Constant grinding… Haha…"
?: Senpai?
Ristuka: "Hm?" When Ritsuka turned, he saw his Kouhai at the entrance door of the Summoning Room "Oh, hey Mashu! I'm just doing my daily summons today. I've saved up a lot thanks to everyone's hard work."
Mashu: "Oh, I see Senpai. But, are you sure you're okay with this…?"
Ristuka: "What do mean by that, Mashu…?"
Mashu: "Well…"
A few months before… June 23
Ritsuka: "GODDAMMIT! WHY?! WHY IS IT ALWAYS BLACK KEYS AND MAPO TOFU?! ALONG WITH THESE USELESS CRAFT ESSENCE AND NOT EVEN A SINGLE SERVANT?!" Ristuka then slammed his fists on the Summoning Room floor extremely hard "WHY?!"
Back to the present
Mashu: "That…"
Ritsuka turned back to the Summoning Altar, feeling a bit of guilt forming inside him "Right… Haha…" He then thrusted his hands forward with fire burning in his eyes "Don't worry Mashu! Today is going to be different, I just know it! Believe in your Senpai!"
Mashu: "If you say so, Senpai…"
A few minutes last…
Ritsuka slammed his fists on the Summoning Room floor in despair "Why…?" He felt depair.
Mashu just sighed and then took something out of her pocket and gave it to Ritsuka "Here you go, Senpai. It's just one, but I hope you get something with it." She let out a soft smile at him.
Ritsuka then felt as if hope was on his side and hugged Mashu "Thank you, Mashu!" He let go of the hug and gave her an encouraging smile "I promise, I won't disappoint this time!"
Mashu blushed a bit and nodded to him "O-Of course, Senpai. I know you won't"
Rituska then placed the summoning ticket on the Summoning Altar and got a little nervous as a blue ring spun around "Please… Please…" The blue ring then turned three "Yes!" and a flashing light covered the whole entire room"
A stomp of a foot was then heard from the Summoning Altar and both Mashu and Ritsuka heard a voice.
A man with Auburn hair with Amber eyes and a muscular body, but not too muscular to the point of a body builder's. He didn't wore a shirt, but a red shroud with black markings on it on the left side of his arm and a red cloth band on his right wrist. Black pants that seemed like it would be worn by a warrior in the old Japanese empire with a white belt made from cloth tied like a ribbon along with what looks like are combat shoes on his feet. He has a white kimono over his shoulder that's blue on the inside with patterns inside, while a katana was strapped on the side of his left hip.
He then looked towards Ritsuka and Mashu and spoke. "Servant: Saber, Shirou Emiya, the master of Saber in Fifth Fuyuki Holy Grail War. I have answered your summons. I ask of thee, are you my master?"
Ritsuka and Mashu looked stunned by how he looked, but Ritsuka finally spoke after a moment of silence. "Y-Yes!"
"Oya? What's going on here?" A distant voice from the entrance of the Summoning Room was heard and the three looked at the person.
Mashu: "Oh, Da Vinci-san! Thanks for coming. Can you please look into Shirou-san's stats for us?" Mashu asked Da Vinci.
Da Vinci: "Shirou, is that the new servant over there?" She pointed at Shirou at the top of the Summoning Altar.
Ritsuka exclaimed "Yes!" Before calming down his tone "He's the new servant. He said he's a Saber Class Servant, can you check his stats, Da Vinci?" Ritsuka asked Da Vinci as he walked over to her side.
Da Vinci nodded "Just leave it to me!" She then opened the Servant Stat Board and what she saw left her at a stunning shock "O-oh my…" She muttered quietly.
Servant: Shirou Emiya (Saber)
Strength: EX
Endurance: EX
Agility: A+
Mana: EX
Luck: E
Noble Phantasm: ?
"My, my, this is probably the strongest servant we've ever had in a long time. Almost everything is ranked EX, but what's with that luck?" Da Vinci thought to herself before Mashu spoke.
Mashu: Um… Da Vinci-san…?
Da Vinci escaped her thoughts and looked at Ritsuka and Mashu "O-Oh! Sorry. Mashu, Ritsuka, you might want to see this." Both Mashu and Ritsuka came close to her and gasped shocked at what they say.
Ritsuka and Mashu: "HOLY MOLY! THAT'S HOW STRONG SHIROU/SHIROU-SAN IS?!"
Shirou: "Hm? Is something wrong, Master?"
Ritsuka: "N-Nothing! We were just surprised. We didn't know that you were this strong, Shirou."
Da Vinci then stepped into the conversation "But why is it that we can't see your Noble Phantasm, Shirou?"
Shirou was then thinking, lost in his thoughts before finally speaking "Maybe there was something wrong during the summoning? I don't feel anything different at all though."
Da Vinci: "But you can still use them, right" She asked to Shirou and he nodded his head.
Shirou: "Like I said, I don't feel anything different. My memories are intact and I can still use them if I wanted to."
Da Vinci then asked. "Well, if you're this powerful. What are your skills, Shirou?"
Shirou then placed his hand on his chin and counted his skills. "Well, I have Eye of the Mind at rank A-, Magic Resistance and Riding at A, my Mana burst is ranked A, to which it boosts my parameters to what a master can muster with their own. I also have Clairvoyance at B-, it isn't like Merlin's or Solomon's though, it can only let me track fast moving objects from long distances away and only a slight future sight. I also have Mystic Eyes and my Independent Action is ranked at B+, which I consider fair considering some of my actions in the past."
Ritsuka had his mouth open in shock and amazement. "Wow… That's a lot" Mashu and Da Vinci then nodded with him.
Da Vinci then asked to Shirou again. "You sure you don't feel anything different, Shirou?" She asked in a concerned tone.
Shirou just shook his head in denial. "Nope, nothing wrong here Da Vinci."
Ritsuka let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and sighed "Phew, almost thought I did something wrong there." Then he stomach grumbled and he blushed slightly.
Shirou gently laughed at that and asked. "Are you hungry, Master? Seems like your stomach could use something to eat with the way that sounded." He gave them a warm smile.
Ritsuka nodded his head. "Y-Yeah. That was embarrassing. Let's head to the cafeteria." As they walked out of the summoning room, he asked Shirou "You can cook, Shirou?"
Shirou nodded his head in acknowledgement. "Mhm. It's more a hobby of mine other than creating sword."
Mashu asked. "You create sword, Shirou-san?" To which, he nodded.
Shirou: "Yup. But I don't do it too much, I mostly focus on my magic. Especially since I was a magi back when I was alive."
Da Vinci then asked. "Were you a Magus back then, Shirou?" To which, he nodded again. Then she asked again. "Then what Magic do you know?"
Shirou smirked and raised his hand and said his aria. "Trace, On." Then a pair of Chinese nun chucks appeared in front of him, leaving all three of them shocked and Da Vinci having her question answered.
Ristuka: "S-Shirou, is that a-"
Shirou: "Yes, master I just traced a Noble Phantasm."
Mashu: "Traced…?" Asked, confused.
Shirou turned to Mashu and said, "It's my own type of Projection or Gradation Air in Magi terms."
Da Vinci: "So then, you can create Noble Phantasms? If so, then are you somehow related to the Red Archer we have here as well?" She asked, leaving Shirou in thought before nodding.
Shirou: "I guess you could say that." As they were walking, Shirou asked. "Hey, by the way, Master, where are we? I didn't asked earlier because I thought it might've been rude, but now I can feel lots of servants on where we're heading."
Ritsuka face-palmed his hand. "Of course, why did I forget? You're in Chaldea, Shirou. Chaldea is an organization that battles for and protects humanity through jumping through different singularities with the help of servant. That's why you're feeling lots of servant presences nearby."
"And I assume you get these servants from the Throne of Heroes, yes?" Shirou asked to them.
Ritsuka nodded. "That's correct, Shirou. You were in a grail war before, right Shirou? I heard you say it when you were summoned. What servant did you had back then?" He asked
To which, Shirou nodded. "Mhm. I was the master of Saber in my holy grail war back then when I was alive."
Mashu: "That's amazing, Shirou-san!"
After a few minutes of walking down the halls of Chaldea, they soon met certain blue lancer servant, one that Shirou knew.
"Oya?" The blue lancer said.
"Lancer?" Shirou asked
"Hahaha! To think that you became a Heroic Spirit now as well, kid! Also, just call me Cu. We're allies from now on after all!" Lancer Cu said to Shirou as he eyed his whole body from top to bottom.
"W-What is it?"
"*Whistle*... Not bad, kid! You've definitely grown since the last time that I saw you!"
"T-Thanks, I guess...?" Shirou couldn't help but feel a little awkward because of that.
"Hey, c'mon now! I'm giving you a compliment here! Just take it and be grateful for once!" Cu exclaimed out loud.
"Ahahaha..." Shirou just couldn't help but do a sweat drop.
"Shirou, you know Cu?" Ritsuka asked as he turned to Shirou.
"Yes, Master. I know Cu here because he was the Lancer Servant back then in my Holy Grail War." Shirou explained to his Master.
"And this kid right here is the one that survived two thrusts to the heart with my Gae Bolg!" Cu pointed at Shirou with a toothy grin. "I swear, you were more annoying than a cockroach back then. No matter what I do, you just came back and back again. The third time was a close one though." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Wait, Shirou-san took two pierces to his heart with Gae Bolg and still survived? That's amazing!" Mashu complimented.
"Amazing, yet a disturbing feeling..." Shirou said in a deadpanned voice with closed eyes.
"Hahaha! Well kid, I gotta get going now. Oh, and before I forget, everyone in our Grail War is here. And when I mean everyone, I mean EVERYONE. Except for Kirei, but nobody really likes him. Their all probably at the cafeteria right now." Cu said as he went away to the other direction of the hallway.
"Everyone? Then that means...!" Shirou couldn't help but rush towards the cafeteria, making Mashu, Ritsuka, and Da Vinci rush to him as well in surprise.
"Hey Shirou, wait up!" Ritsuka shouted as he followed his new servant.
"Senpai, be careful!" Mashu shouted.
"My, my, seems like this is going to be something." Da Vinci said to herself as she followed the three of them.
As Shirou was rushing towards the cafeteria, he saw someone at the cafeteria's doors, someone he loves dearly and know very well.
Shirou's eyes widened in surprise for the servant he saw was still the same as ever, the one he confessed to at his Grail War.
"S-Saber...?"
"S-Shirou...?" Arturia asked as she rubbed her eyes, thinking that she was hallucinating.
"T-This isn't an illusion, is it? It's really you, right? Shirou, is it really you?"
Shirou couldn't help but smile softly as he went towards her and hugged her tightly. "Yes, Arturia. It's me. I'm back."
"S-Shirou...! Shirou!" Arturia couldn't help it anymore and she hugged him back extremely tightly.
"Y-You're back... You're finally back! My scabbard! I've missed you..." Arturia said in sobs.
"It's alright now, Arturia. I'm back. Please don't cry anymore." Shirou comforted his previous servant.
Right behind him and Arturia were Mashu, Ritsuka, and Da Vinci, just standing behind them with small smiles on their faces. However, Mashu and Ritsuka has a few sweat coming down from their foreheads from the running they just did.
"My~. I didn't know that Shirou and Arturia were in that relationship." Da Vinci said with a slight smirk on her face.
"Da Vinci, please stop. This isn't the time to tease them about this." Ritsuka said.
"Hehe. But you can't deny it, Senpai. They're more closer than you think." Mashu said.
After a touching reunion between Sword and Scabbard, all of them then entered the cafeteria. What Shirou saw, was let's say; what he should've really expected since Cu already said it. Literally everyone he knows from his old Grail War is here. Ishtar and Astraea were bickering with each other on one table, like they always do back then. Archer was cooking in the kitchen while Illya, Kuro, Miyu, Kiritsugu, and Irisviel were chatting at the kitchen counter along with Jaguar-Man, and for some reason; Berserker Heracles was carrying Sitonai on his shoulder like he did to the Illya that Shirou knows back then. Medea, Sasaki, and Medusa were all sitting on their chairs in of the tables, chatting peacefulliy to each other.
When all of them heard the cafeteria door close, they all look to see who it was. To there surprise and total shock, Shirou was there.
"EEEEEEEEHHHHHHH?!" Everyone except for Kiritsugu, Archer, and Heracles, shouted loudly.
"Everyone, please be quiet!" Ritsuka commanded, making everyone shut up and he cleared his throat. "Okay, Cu's warning was supposed to be right, but I didn't expected him to be this right, jeez..." He thought to himself before he spoke. "Everyone, I am sure you all know this new servant beside me." He said as he introduced Shirou to everyone while pointing his hand on him. "Meet Shirou Emiya, the Master of Saber back then in his Holy Grail War. I hope you all treat him nicely."
As Ritsuka finished introducing Shirou, everyone in the cafeteria, except for Archer, rushed towards him, but he still have some personal space of course, thanks to Arturia.
"SHIROU!" Jaguar-Man said as she jumped straight up and hugged Shirou tightly.
"Uwah! Fuji-nee?! What are you doing here?!" Shirou asked.
"I'm a Heroic Spirit too, dummy!" She said as she ruffled Shirou's hair.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Stop that! You're messing my hair, Fuji-nee!" Shirou protested but to no avail.
"Hehahahaha! No way, Shirou!" Jaguar-Man was just about to rub Shirou's hair again when she was pulled by Kiritsugu.
"That's enough, Jaguar-Man. Shirou needs his space." Kiritsugu said calmly.
"MOU!" Jaguar-Man pouted.
"Dad...?" Shirou asked with widened eyes.
Kiritsugu just sighed. "Listen Shirou... I am not the Kiritsugu Emiya that you knew. But even still, I hope that we can get along, son." Kiritsugu said in a warm voice as he let out a small smile.
Shirou smiled a bit as well. "Nothing can ever make me hate you, old man." He hugged Kiritsugu. "I'm just glad that I finally get to see you again." He then let go of the hug.
"Well, I guess I should've really expected you to become a Heroic Spirit, you idealistic hero." Ishtar said as she puffed air.
"You say that, but you're just as glad as I am now that Sherou is here with us, miss gorilla." Astraea said as Ishtar shot a gem towards her, making them fight again and Mashu with Da Vinci trying their best to stop them from continuing the fight.
"Those two are still the same as always, huh?" Shirou asked with a sweat drop.
"They sure still are." Arturia agreed as she nodded her head.
It was at that moment that Berserker Heracles roared out loud, making Shirou turn his attention towards him and his little sisters.
"Onii-chan... It's really you...! It's really you!" Illya said in between sobs.
"Illya?"
"Onii-chan!" Illya then jumped towards Shirou and hugged him tightly.
"Ah! No fair, Illya! I wanted to do that first!" Kuro shouted.
"As if I'll allow you, you perverted loli!" Miyu protested.
"Miyu, watch your language!" Sitonai said out loud.
Illya just stuck her tongue out as she hugged Shirou tightly, making the other little sisters of Shirou jealous.
"Now, now, Illya-chan. Stay down, now." Irisviel said as she pulled Illya away from Shirou.
"Ah! Mom! Let go of me! I want to be in Onii-chan's embrace!" Illya said as she tried to pull away from Irisivel's hug.
"No can do, missy! I too also want to see my baby boy!" Irisviel said as she gently caressed Shirou's cheek.
"U-Uh... W-What's happening right now...? Who are you?" Shirou asked in confusion.
"Fufufu~. My name is Irisviel Von Einzebern, the wife of Kiritsugu Emiya!" Irisviel introduced herself gleefully.
"The wife of Kiritsugu Emiya...? Wait! You're my mom?!" Shirou shouted in surprise.
"That's right, dear! Give your mom a hug now!" Before Shirou could act, Irisviel already hugged him tightly.
The hugging continued for a few minutes before Kiritsugu stopped his wife.
"That's enough, Iri."
"Hmph! Mou~. I just wanted to spend my time with my son." She then let go of Shirou and he proceeded to walk to the kitchen counter where Ritsuka was already eating.
"I'm sorry that I made you wait for too long, Master. Seems like I don't need to cook anymore." Shirou apologized.
"Oh, no need to do so, Shirou. To be honest, I was quite relieved to see these other servants know you. I didn't want to bother the little reunion, so I went ahead." Ritsuka explained.
Shirou nodded his head and turned towards Archer who just sighed before speaking. "So you were summoned as well here, huh?"
"Yeah. Didn't expected this to say the least."
"Heh. Well it was bound to happen anyways. A lot more sooner than later than I thought it would be though."
Back with the crowd...
Medea was drinking her cup of tea as she eyed on Shirou. "To think that the boy would be summoned here as well too. He seems to have grown a lot as well from what I can tell."
Sasaki nodded his head in agreement. "Indeed. He seems a lot more stronger than before too as well. I can feel an intense aura coming from him"
Meduse karate-chopped Sasaki on the head gently. "Best not to fight him so early, Sasaki. Not when everyone is here.
After the heartfelt reunion, the cafeteria was at peace again, the only sounds that can be heard were the chatting of friends and the sounds of steel utensils hitting plates as they all ate the food that Shirou prepared once he got into the kitchen. Everyone was overjoyed but then...
The cafeteria door burst open and revealed a certain prideful golden archer that nobody likes, and boy does he look more pissed than ever. "Faker! I heard from that blue mongrel that you've been summoned! How dare you come barging in here like it's nothing! It's time we settle the score!"
Just as Shirou was about to trace a pair of blades and just as Gilgamesh was about to summon Noble Phantasms to shoot at Shirou with his Gates of Babylon, heavenly chains started to wrap around Gilgamesh and he was then dragged out of the cafeteria.
A green haired servant then came in front of the cafeteria door and bowed his head. "My name is Enkidu. Shirou Emiya, I deeply apologize for Gil's actions earlier, please excuse us." Enkidu then left the cafeteria as its door closed.
"What the heck was that...?" Shirou couldn't help but say it out loud from his total confusion.
Archer sighed. "Somethings like this happen from time to time, Shirou. Get used to it." He said before sighing again. "And don't even get me started on the counterparts."
"What counterparts?" Shirou asked and he was answered by different versions of Arturia, Sakura, and Rin running straight inside the cafeteria after they heard the news about Shirou.
"That." Archer pointed out, making Shirou sweat drop again.
