This story is mine, the mistakes are mine and this story is completely out of my imagination.

In the city of Boston, the month of June is usually greeted with sunny days, pleasant heat, sometimes stifling and often with a light morning breeze, but this year for several days, an unexpected cold snap has enveloped the city in a blanket of cold. Jane's street usually lively at this time sometimes with ice cream vendors and children's laughter was deserted, and it was not only her street that was like that, all of Boston was like that as if the city had been put on hold. One morning, Jane Rizzoli, her brow furrowed, looked out of her bedroom window and grumbled because once again the heating in her apartment was malfunctioning and her landlord as usual was reluctant to do the work and this day was the coldest since 2015, when it had been 48,2°F. Jane looked at the weather app on her phone and saw that the 2015 cold record had been broken with 41°F and wind that accentuated the cold and the feeling that showed 33,8°F. Jane is used to the vagaries of New England weather but this record cold is different, an almost personal attack, as the cold challenged her patience not only because she suffered from it because the cold hurt the scars on her hands but also because the previous Saturday she had not been able to take TJ to the zoo because Maura had inquired, the animals did not come out to stay out of the cold and TJ had been a little disappointed because he wanted to go to the zoo with his family but luckily he had been able to play with an educational game with Maura and then he loved spending time with his aunt Jane, his uncle Frankie, his aunt Nina and with his Nonna. Jane turns around and sees Joe Friday jumping on his bed and trying to cover himself. Jane growled again at the weather, at the cold temperatures, at her scars that hurt her and at her owner and went to lie down on her bed too and said scratching Jo Friday's head
"Are you sick of this rotten weather and these too cold temperatures Jo?"
Jo looked at her and barked and Jane smiled because Jo agreed with her then Jane said looking at her Yorkshire Terrier:
"How about we go to Maura's? It must be really nice and warm there"
Hearing Jane say "Maura", Jo Friday looked up and barked several times. Jane smiled and said
"Okay, you agree with me, I'll call her"
Jane dialed Maura's number who answered right away
"Yes Jane ?
Maura? Could you take in a woman and her dog who are having heating problems in their apartment ?
Of course and for as long as you want.
Are you sure I'm not disturbing you ?
Not at all. Besides, I was wondering when you were going to call because I know this isn't the first time your heating has had problems, you should do what it takes to fix it."
Jane sighed but knew Maura was right. This problem had been going on for a while and she said
"Yeah, I know but I never really found the time to deal with it, with all the investigations we've had lately.
I'll help you, don't worry
I'll get some things and what Jo needs and I'll be right there
I'll wait for you and Jo"
After hanging up, Jane said to Jo Friday
"It's okay, we're going to Maura's!"
As if the little dog had understood, Jo started to wag her tail happily and started to lick Jane's face who said
"Easy girl! Easy! I'll get our things and we're going!" »
Jane only put a few things in a bag because she had a lot at Maura's then she took Jo Friday's basket, food and toys and dressed in a winter jacket, a thick jumper and a scarf, went out to brave the cold to put everything in her car and looked at the street again and didn't like what she saw, this grey weather was almost giving her a headache then she went back inside to put Jo Friday in the secure transport box that Maura had bought then she hurried to put the transport box on the back seat of her car and strapped it in properly while swearing again at the cold and Jo barked as if to tell her mistress to watch her language and Jane said laughing softly:
"Jo! You're not going to get into it too. You've spent too much time with Ma and Maura"
Jo barked again and Jane said before starting her car
"Okay! OK! We're going to Maura's"
Once she arrived at Maura's house, Jane untied Jo's transport box and hurried inside, Maura was on her doorstep and as usual, Jane found her looking radiant and Jane hurried inside with Jo and dressed as she was, she was starting to get hot in Maura's house but Jane took the time to open the carrier and Jo Friday got out and ran towards Maura and circled around her barking. Maura crouched down and petted Jo Friday then two minutes later, Maura got up and went to get a dog treat and gave it to Jo while Jane went to put her things away then Maura went to see Jane and the latter said to her smiling
" Jo Friday let you join me? "
Maura replied smiling as well
"Jo Friday went to see Bass after I gave him a treat and I came to see how you were putting your things away
I put them away as usual
You mean wrinkled and badly folded?"
Jane groaned
"Maur'... please don't do what Ma does"
Maura laughed softly and said
"Jane, you know very well that your mother is right about that and I agree with her"
Jane put on a mock annoyance and continued to put her things away.
Later that evening Angela had come over to make dinner and while they were both in the kitchen Jane told her mother that she had come here because the heating in her apartment was not working and Angela said to Jane
" Jane, it's about time you moved out of this apartment
And to go where Ma? And no, don't tell me to find someone! I'm not in the mood.
Jane! It's true that it would be nice if you found someone to live with but that's not the subject. I know that you like this place and that it brings back good memories but since the landlord changed, your apartement is starting to deteriorate. I don't want anything serious to happen to you
I'm sure Maura knows a realtor who could help you. Why didn't you ask her? You know it's not shameful to ask your friend for help?
I know Ma but it's just that... Okay, I'll ask Maura but right now, we're snowed under with work. It's like all the criminals in Boston got together to act at once"
Later that night, after Angela had left, Jane was sitting on Maura's bench playing a game on her phone and Maura sat down next to her and said
"I heard you and your mother earlier"
Jane put her phone down on the coffee table and said
"Yeah, I know, I'm an idiot for not asking for your help"
Maura moved closer to Jane and said
"Angela's right, I know some real estate agents who could help you find a place that would suit you
Maur' it's just… This place brings back so many memories. I've lived there since I became a detective, it's where I had my love affair with Casey and where you and I developed our friendship and it was my refuge after the Hoyt case
I understand Jane but you have heating problems again, last month you had an electrical problem and last year it was the windows that didn't close properly and there were other problems. Each time, your landlord dragged his feet to do the work. Seriously Jane, you have other things to do than fight with your landlord and if necessary, I will ask my lawyer to force your landlord to do the necessary work

A little later, Jane and Maura watched a movie and in an instinctive gesture of protection Jane put her arms around Maura. Maura was surprised by this gesture. Of course it was not the first time that Jane took her in her arms but there it was like Jane wanted to feel her against her as if to reassure herself. Maura looked at Jane who smiled and this smile made Maura's heart beat a little faster then later, when they went up to bed, Maura had a little regret when she saw Jane go to the guest room, because she would have liked Jane to sleep with her like they sometimes did and then Maura felt that little by little, she was attracted to the beautiful brunette. The week that followed passed slowly always under cold temperatures for the season and Jane and Maura slept several times in the same bed and Maura liked it because Jane kept her warm and very often hugged her during her sleep as if during this moment, Jane was protecting her. Maura loved feeling Jane against her and wondered if Jane felt her heart beating faster. Then one night after a difficult case where Jane had been slightly injured, Maura had sat on the bed and she had a blanket over her and was crying softly and Jane heard her and knocked softly and came in and said in a soft voice:
"Maura? What's wrong with you? Did you get bad news?"
Maura turned to Jane and found her breathtaking with her curly hair loose and her red silk pajamas that went so well with her olive skin and her abundant black hair and Maura said wiping her tears
"I'm fine Jane... Don't worry"
Jane came, sat down next to Maura and Maura said
"I'm cold Jane"
Jane wondered what was happening because the temperature of the room was very pleasant and Maura had a blanket over her. Jane took Maura in her arms and said
"Are you cold? It's nice in here"
Maura looked at Jane and said
"I'm not cold... well I'm cold... inside me. I want to be against you Jane, you make me warm"
Jane pulled the blanket off Maura and hugged the honey blonde against her and said
"Please tell me what's wrong with you, tell me what's wrong. I don't like to see you cry"
Maura said
"You... you got hurt again
Is that why? Maura, it's just a scratch
It was a stab Jane!
It kind of cut through my clothes and scratched me but I've been through worse.
You have a black eye Jane."
Jane smiled and said
"I've lost count of the number of times I've gotten a black eye, I got my first one when I was 9 years old fighting with one of our neighbors' sons. That kid kept picking on Frankie.
You got it because you fought two men, one of whom was bigger and stronger than you
Yes, I did and I did it because they were picking on you and no one, you hear me, no one has the right to lay a hand on you without suffering the consequences and then Frost and Vince were there"
Jane smiled and said
"Vince has a right hook worthy of a professional boxer. Whoever hit me knows it now because Vince dislocated his jaw"
Maura sobbed and said
"It was because of me, because I'm Paddy Doyle's daughter
No! It was because they were criminals! It wasn't because of you! I would die for you Maura!"
Maura said in a voice that was both firm and sad:
"No! I don't want to! I don't want you to die! I couldn't live without you."
Jane kissed Maura's head and said
"I couldn't live without you either. It's just that… I'll do anything to punish those who hurt you."
Jane ran her hand down Maura's back and Maura said
"I don't want you to die Jane because… because I love you!
I love you too!
Jane, I'm serious. I love you! I'm in love with you!"
Because you think I'm not serious? Why do you think I didn't take Casey when he asked me to live with him? Why do you think I flat out refused to see and work with Gabriel Dean again?"
Jane looked at Maura and gave her a big dimpled smile and said
"And what do you think? Why was I in a bad mood when Ian or any of your boyfriends came over? Because I was and am in love with you Maura Dorthea Isles!"
Maura felt her heart beating incredibly fast and she said
"Are you really?
Yes I am and I don't care who your father is!
Will you be my girlfriend?
If you'll have me.
I want you to be here.
I'm here Maura.
I don't want you to go.
I'm not going anywhere Maur.
Leave your apartment and come live here with me. I want to see you here all the time, I want you to sleep with me and I want to wake up in your arms."
Jane smiled and ran her hand through Maura's hair and said
"I agree. Maura darling, I want to experience all these things too and thank you for loving me. I'm not an easy person to love
I love you Jane. Warm me up again"
Jane opened the bed and the two women lay down and Jane hugged Maura again and Jane said
"I'm here Maura, I'm here and I'll never leave you! Maura, ti amo e e tu sei l'amore della mia vita!"( Maura, I love you and you are the love of my life)
Maura felt a great warmth invade her, not only was she lying against Jane and she was telling her that she loved her and that she was the love of her life and Jane said it in Italian and Maura knew that Jane only spoke Italian with her family members and once Angela had told her that if Jane said love phrases in Italian to another person then Jane would be madly in love with that person and according to Angela, that had never happened. Maura was happy to be that person and Maura said in French
"Je t'aime aussi et toi aussi, tu es l'amour de ma vie (I love you too and you too, you are the love of my life)"
Maura presented her forehead to Jane who kissed her then Maura placed a kiss on Jane's lips and said
"You are my strength, my energy, my life!"
Then Maura kissed Jane who let her do it with great pleasure.
A week later, the weather had become radiant again and the temperatures had become warmer and sometimes stifling some days but Jane didn't care. She was at Maura's and with the air conditioning it was nice. That morning, Jane looked out the window and smiled then she turned around and saw Jo Friday who had been sleeping in her dog basket since Jane had taken her out and not far from Jo's basket, she saw Bass and smiled even more as she gave a strawberry and a cactus pad to Maura's spurred tortoise then Jane went to the kitchen to prepare breakfasts for Maura and her and then Jane took a tray with the breakfasts and went to the bedroom where Maura was still sleeping then Jane woke Maura by placing a tender kiss on the forehead then on the lips of the honey blonde and said
"Get up amore mio ! Breakfast is ready!"
Maura woke up slowly, saw Jane giving her a big dimpled smile and Maura said in French
"Bonjour mon amour! (Hello my love!)"
Then Maura switched back to English and said
"It was very kind of you to have made breakfast
And I even fed Bass, our turt..
Jane!"
Jane started laughing and said
"Our tortoise! "
Maura laughed that laugh that Jane loved so much and said
"Sometimes you are still a real child Jane! Come next to me!" »
Jane hurried to sit next to her girlfriend and ate her breakfast throwing a loving look at Maura from time to time and then Jane said:
"We should do this more often
I agree, especially if during the previous night, you give me as many orgasms as last night"
Jane began to blush because she always had a hard time talking about sex even with Maura who she had no shame in talking about it but Maura understood Jane because she knew that Jane did not talk much but acted and she remembers that last night Jane had not talked much but acted a lot. Maura put down her cup of coffee and said
"I like that you are definitely living here"
Jane placed a light kiss on Maura's lips and said
"And I love living with my girlfriend.
When are you going to return your apartment?
In less than two weeks. Your lawyer moved things along well with the work, you should have seen my landlord's face when your lawyer reminded him of his obligations. I would be a bad cop if I let someone live in an apartment that wasn't up to standard."
Maura smiled and said
"Today the weather is nice and the temperatures are pleasant. We will be able to go with TJ to the zoo, I inquired yesterday and all the animals are visible
Great ! I'll call Tommy after breakfast to let him know. TJ has been waiting for this for a while
And what's more, I'll be able to wear my new outfit and my new Yves Saint Laurent shoes that I just received
Maur' sometimes I wonder where you keep all your clothes and all your shoes. Do you have a secret room?
I don't have a secret room, I just put my clothes and shoes away properly and you should do the same"
Jane was going to say something when Maura put down kissed Jane on the cheek and Jane didn't say anything else because she loved it then she told herself that she wouldn't complain about the weather anymore, well yes because it was her character but she wouldn't forget that it was thanks to the gloomy weather and very low temperatures for a month of June that Maura and she were finally together. For the moment, Jane and Maura hadn't told their families or friends and they were enjoying the fact that they were secretly a couple, of course they knew that they were going to have to tell them soon because Angela suspected something and Jane was going to move soon but for now the two women who had finally found happiness and were enjoying it and that was all that mattered to them
