Later that evening, Steven and Andy make their way home.

The sun rises on a stunning Saturday morning, casting a warm glow over the landscape, accompanied by a soft breeze and a few wispy clouds drifting lazily across the sky. Ms. Knight gathers the boys and Katie in the living room, her expression serious as she prepares to share some news.

"Mr. Mark has invited us to join him for a day trip to San Francisco," she announces.

"Isn't it a bit inconsiderate to drop that on us? It's quite a trek. No matter how much time we spend with Lucas, Audrey's behavior just keeps getting worse. Why do we have to keep dealing with them, Mom?" Kendall interjects from the table, spooning cereal into his mouth.

"Because I believe I can reach those kids," Ms. Knight replies confidently.

"How? They show you no respect, especially Audrey. Remember when she called you an old hag? Even her apology was just because her dad made her do it. Why would you want to be around a spoiled brat like her?" Kendall challenges.

"I want to be a positive influence on her," Ms. Knight insists.

"Mom, it's way too early for jokes," Kendall retorts.

"I promise you, I'm not joking. Let's just try to enjoy the day without any drama," Ms. Knight encourages.

"How can we enjoy ourselves with the most unruly kids we've ever met?" Kendall questions. "It's a long drive to San Francisco."

"That's why we'll be traveling with Mr. Mark and his kids," Ms. Knight explains.

Carlos, taken aback, spits out his orange juice in disbelief. "No, gracias!!" he exclaims.

"Mom, please don't make us go through with this. Just cancel with Mr. Mark, please!" Kendall pleads desperately. "We can't do it! We've tried so hard to get along with Lucas and Audrey, but they're not even trying! Why should we be the ones to put in all the effort? It's just not fair!"

"Mr. Mark is already in the parking lot and heading up to the apartment right now," Ms. Knight replies calmly.

"Mom!" Kendall exclaims, frustration bubbling over as he lets out a heavy sigh. "Fine! We'll do it! We'll endure this torture all day just so you can be with Mr. Mark! Are you satisfied now?! I swear my brain might just explode dealing with Lucas and Audrey's awful behavior, but whatever! Who needs a functioning brain anyway?! Not me, that's for sure!" He storms off to get dressed, his mood still simmering.

"Wow, that was quite the explosion. I should check on him," Logan remarks, heading to their shared bedroom. He finds Kendall rummaging through the closet for something to wear. "Kendall, I get why you're upset, but it looks like we have no choice but to get through today. Your mom is really happy with Mr. Mark. I might not always agree with her choice, but seeing her smile makes it worth it. If we can keep a positive attitude, maybe Lucas and Audrey won't feel the need to mess with us. They thrive on our reactions and their dad's leniency. If we don't give them the satisfaction, they'll have no reason to be annoying. That's how you deal with bullies—don't feed into their behavior."

Kendall looks at him, letting out a resigned sigh. "Okay, you're right. We'll give that a shot. Carlos, James, and Katie need to hear this too," he says, pulling a shirt over his head.

"They will. Are you okay now? No more outbursts?" Logan asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just talking it out with you really helped me cool down. Thanks," Kendall replies, a hint of gratitude in his voice.

"You're welcome," Logan responds with a nod.
