"Carlos, I believe it would show great maturity on your part to lend your camera to Lucas," Mr. Mark suggests.
"Sir, I respectfully declined his request. He reacted like a child and reported me to you. I'm not obligated to share my camera with him," Carlos replies.
"I don't see why you can't just let him use it for a moment," Mr. Mark counters.
"If I'm going to lend him my camera, then he should let me borrow his game buddy. I enjoy video games as well," Carlos insists.
"What?! Absolutely not! I spent a ton of my allowance on that game buddy, and I'm not letting you touch it with your dirty hands!" Lucas exclaims.
"First off, my hands are perfectly clean. And secondly, you're being very hypothetical," Carlos responds.
"Hypocritical. He's hypocritical, not unrealistic," Logan whispers to clarify.
"You're being hypocritical," Carlos states firmly.
"Explain why," Logan prompts.
"Because you refuse to let me use your game buddy while insisting I share my camera. That's not fair. If you're not okay with sharing your game buddy, then I'm not obliged to share my camera," Carlos explains.
With a scoff, Lucas retorts, "I don't care! Hand over your camera!"
"Then give me your game buddy," Carlos shoots back.
"No way!" Lucas replies defiantly.
"Then this conversation is finished," Carlos declares, turning to walk away.
"Hand it over!" Lucas shouts as he lunges forward, tackling Carlos to the ground with a thud.
"Ahhh! Let me go!" Carlos protests, clutching the camera like a lifeline.
"Just give it to me!" Lucas demands again, his voice rising.
"Stop! You're hurting me! Seriously, let go! Please, stop it! You're hurting me!" Carlos yells, panic creeping into his voice.
Logan, Kendall, and James rush over, alarmed, trying to separate the two.
"Lucas, get off him! What's wrong with you?!" Audrey exclaims, her eyes wide with disbelief at her brother's aggression.
With a fierce determination, Lucas starts hammering his fist down onto Carlos' head. "I'll quit when you hand over the camera!" He yanks it away, but it slips from his grasp, tumbling into the street. It shatters upon hitting the pavement.
Carlos gasps in horror, pushes Lucas away, and scrambles after the camera. "Y-Y-You broke it! You broke my camera! You broke it!" Tears stream down his face. "You're a monster! A destructive beast!" He collapses into sobs.
"Oh Carlos, maybe there's still a chance to save some of it," Logan reassures him. "It's alright, buddy. It's alright." He kneels down to envelop him in a comforting hug.
"My Papi is going to be furious with me. I made a promise. I promised him I wouldn't let anything happen to this camera. I've let him down. I broke that promise!" He gasps, overwhelmed. "I'm such a terrible son!"
"No, you're not," Logan counters gently. "You're an amazing son to him. This isn't on you. It's Lucas' fault."
Mr. Mark seizes Lucas by the wrist, pulling him away from the group to unleash his frustration without alarming the other visitors in the park.
Audrey flinches at the sound of her father's distant shouting. "Yikes. Lucas is going to be in so much trouble," she comments.
Meanwhile, in the dog play area of the park,
Andy, Katie, and Steven remain blissfully unaware of the unfolding drama.
"Why isn't Tyson joining the other dogs? Is he shy?" Katie inquires.
"No, he's just so devoted to Steven that he doesn't want to play with anyone else," Andy clarifies.
