On Monday morning in the classroom, the class awaits the arrival of Miss Collins. Jett approaches Kendall's desk.

With a sigh, Kendall remarks, "What do you want, Jett? I am not in the mood for your insults today," while perusing a hockey magazine.

"I merely wished to inquire about the well-being of your friends following the incident yesterday," Jett responds.

Kendall sets aside his magazine and gazes at him in disbelief. "You wish to know if they are alright? Since when have you shown concern for them? You have consistently mocked them whenever they visited, and now you express interest in their well-being? I find that hard to believe. Please leave, Jett," Kendall retorts.

"I am being serious. I heard that something quite severe occurred to them last night in the lobby. I was out with some friends yesterday, and upon my return, there was discussion regarding the involvement of law enforcement, who allegedly employed excessive force against your friends," Jett explains.

"Indeed, that excessive force resulted in their hospitalization. But why do you care?" Kendall inquires.

"Even if I'm not the friendliest kid in Palm Woods, there's no way I'd ever do anything that could land someone in the hospital like those officers did to your friends. What I mean is, those cops were completely out of line, and if I were in their shoes, I would have handled it differently," Jett asserts.

He lets out an exasperated sigh. "It always comes back to you. It's all about you." I knew you'd twist the conversation to focus on yourself. You don't care about what happened to Andy and Steven. Besides, I could never trust you as a cop. I wouldn't feel safe with you in that role," Kendall replies, clearly wanting to end the discussion.

"What? I could totally be a good cop," Jett insists.

"No, you couldn't. Real cops who don't misuse their authority, unlike those last night, need to be kind and empathetic. They should use their position to genuinely serve and protect their community. My Papi is a perfect example of this. He only resorts to force when it's absolutely necessary. If he had been the officer at that scene, there's no way he would have attacked Andy and Steven. He would have calmed things down to prevent any trouble. Those officers last night were just bullies," Carlos chimes in.

Jett leans back, frustration evident in his voice. "I heard that the only reason those officers showed up last night was because Mr. Bitters made the call."

"Is that really shocking? That guy is a disaster waiting to happen. He gripes about everything and everyone around here. Remember, he even got arrested for making a false police report," Logan replies, shaking his head.

"Who's going to fill in for him while he's gone?" Jett inquires, curiosity piqued.

"Why would we have any idea? It's not our concern at the moment. Just leave us alone, Jett. We all know you couldn't care less about what happened to Andy and Steven last night. They didn't deserve to be humiliated and attacked by those crooked cops," James interjects sharply.

With a heavy sigh, Jett retreats to his desk, falling into silence. Just then, Miss Collins strides in, ready to kick off the day's lesson. "Alright, class, please turn to your social studies textbooks and pick up where we left off last week. I want you to read pages 125 to 130 and complete the questions on the assignments I'm handing out. This is an individual task, so no collaboration. Keep it quiet, and no cheating—especially you, Jett."

Laughter erupts from the rest of the class, their amusement at Jett's public reprimand palpable.

"Cut it out!" he snaps. "I'm not the only one who cheats in here!"

"Actually, you are. Miss Collins is always watching you to make sure you don't end up repeating a grade because of your cheating ways," Logan retorts, a smirk on his face.

Jett rolls his eyes, scoffing. "Whatever, nerd."

"Don't call me a nerd!" Logan shoots back, struggling to maintain his composure against the label that irks him the most.

"Jett, that's enough! Stop being unkind to Logan! Focus on the assignment I've given you, and no more outbursts. I don't want to hear another word from you!" Miss Collins says with a firm tone.

Jett mutters angrily under his breath but begrudgingly starts working on the assignment, his expression dark and sullen.

As the day progresses, the sun shines brightly over Los Angeles, creating a perfect atmosphere for an outdoor break. Miss Collins decides to take the class to Palm Woods Park for lunch.

At a picnic table, Kendall, Logan, James, and Carlos are engaged in lively conversation. However, Logan drifts away from the chatter, losing interest and tuning into a math podcast hosted by Phobeo Nachee instead.

Just as Carlos is about to take a bite of his homemade sandwich, Jett swoops in and snatches it away.

"Thanks for the lunch, loser!" he cackles.

"Jett, give that back! Eat your own lunch!" Carlos protests.

"Not a chance!" Jett retorts defiantly.

"Seriously, don't eat my sandwich, Jett. It has some really spicy peppers on it. You'll regret it," Carlos warns.

"Stop telling me what to do! I can handle a little heat!" Jett replies, taking a big bite. Instantly, his eyes widen, and his face flushes as the fiery spice hits him. He begins to scream in agony.

"I told you it was super hot! You should have listened!" Carlos shouts back.

"Water! I need water!" Jett yells, darting around in a panic, drawing the attention of everyone nearby.

"No, don't drink water! That'll just make it worse!" Carlos exclaims as he watches Jett rush to buy a water bottle from the snack cart.

"Shut up! I know what I'm doing!" Jett snaps, gulping down the water, only to feel the burn intensify, just as Carlos had warned.

"You need milk! That'll help with the burning!" Carlos insists.

"No way! You're just trying to trick me!" Jett yells.

"I'm not lying! Even though you stole my lunch, I'm still trying to help you!" Carlos replies. "Just go grab a small milk carton from the snack cart!"

"Milk isn't going to help me! Stop insisting that it will!" Jett exclaims.

Carlos lets out an exasperated sigh. "Actually, milk can be quite effective against spicy food because it contains casein, a protein that neutralizes capsaicin, the compound in chili peppers that creates that fiery burn. Think of casein as a detergent; it envelops and washes away capsaicin molecules, much like soap tackles grease. While some people believe that the fat in milk aids in alleviating the heat, a study from Penn State revealed that full-fat milk isn't necessarily more effective than its fat-free counterpart. Other dairy options can also provide relief. Yogurt, cottage cheese, and sour cream all contain casein and can help soothe the burn. If you're not keen on dairy, consider trying something acidic, like lemonade, limeade, orange juice, or even a tomato-based dish or drink." Carlos says, his irritation growing as Jett remains stubborn.

The other classmates watch in awe, impressed by the wealth of knowledge on how to ease the discomfort of spicy foods.

"Wow, Carlos, I'm really impressed! That was amazing! Who taught you that milk alleviates the pain of spicy foods?" Logan exclaims, a grin spreading across his face. "Mostly Google, but you did too. You taught me that milk has what you call, um, 'healing properties' that are helpful for Jett's situation right now," Carlos replies, a hint of pride in his voice.

"I'm proud to have shared some useful facts with you, and I'm glad your Google search was helpful too," Logan responds, satisfaction evident in his tone.

Meanwhile, Jett, feeling the heat of the spices, finally gives in and purchases a small carton of milk from the snack cart. As he drinks it, the fiery burn in his mouth begins to subside. "Looks like your dorky lecture actually worked on me. Whatever," he mutters, a reluctant acceptance in his voice.

"Wow, you're not even going to thank me for helping you? How ungrateful can you be, you jerk!" Carlos retorts, his anger bubbling to the surface as he shakes his head in disbelief at Jett's lack of gratitude.

"Just zip it! Be thankful I didn't force that fiery sandwich down your throat! How can you even stomach such a beast? Are you really human? No one should be able to handle something as scorching as that sandwich was," Jett retorts.

"You had no right to take it from me in the first place! Some people can handle spicy food, while others can't. You're clearly in the latter group! Next time, keep your hands off my lunch! My Papi taught me how to make that sandwich, and I was looking forward to savoring it, but you snatched that chance away from me! Now, there's only one thing you can do: apologize and buy me a new lunch!" Carlos insists, his determination unwavering.

"Not a chance! I'm not throwing away my money on you!" Jett replies, his selfishness evident.

"Come on, Jett, it's the least you can do. You made this mess, so you should help clean it up," Logan interjects, trying to ease the escalating tension.

"I said no! I'm not buying him a new lunch! And by the way, Carlos, your dad's cooking is terrible!" Jett shoots back.

"What?!" Carlos exclaims, his fury igniting.

"Uh-oh," Logan mutters, sensing that Carlos is on the verge of exploding with rage after Jett's insult about his father.

Jett relishes the discomfort he's causing Carlos, a smirk plastered across his face as he unleashes a barrage of insults about his father. "Your dad whipped up a health disaster with that sandwich. It was revolting and way too spicy for anyone to handle. He ought to be locked up for that culinary crime. It's clear you inherited your charming personality from him. You two are as sharp as a sack of potatoes, as attractive as a wall painted in dull beige, and more irritating than a persistent hangnail. To put it plainly for your limited intellect, you both are a disaster and should be sent packing." An evil grin spreads across his face as he watches Carlos boil with rage, laughing mockingly at his furious reaction. But then, he notices an eerie silence enveloping the area. Peering around, he sees their classmates cowering beneath their picnic tables, fear etched on their faces. "What's with the hiding?"

"You should be terrified right now! Everything you just said is about to land you in serious trouble," Logan warns, his voice trembling.

"What do you mean by that?" Jett retorts, turning back to Carlos, whose face is turning a shade of red that Jett has never witnessed before in someone so furious.

Miss Collins is on her way back from a local deli, her lunch in hand, when a shrill scream pierces the air. Alarmed, she hurries toward the sound, her heart racing. As she approaches Palm Woods Park, she spots Jett darting around, desperately trying to evade the furious Carlos, whose anger seems to be reaching new heights.

Meanwhile, Logan, Kendall, and James are frantically attempting to soothe the young Latino, but their efforts are in vain; Carlos is too consumed by his fury to hear their words.

"What on earth is happening here?!" Miss Collins exclaims, bewildered by the chaotic scene unfolding before her.

"Jett was being a total jerk again, and it pushed Carlos over the edge," Logan explains, his voice tinged with exasperation.

"What led to Carlos chasing Jett?" Miss Collins inquires, still trying to piece together the puzzle.

Logan takes a deep breath and recounts the events that transpired during her absence.
