Chapter 3
When Cadence got back to Halliwell Manor with what little homework she had, Paige, Piper and Prue came in to greet her. Phoebe had called Prue as she had picked Cadence up from school to tell her the jist of what happened.
"Phoebe, here, help me in the kitchen. Just until Mom gets home." Piper asked her sister.
"Mom will want to know about this." Paige adds.
"We know, but we have to see who could have done this... or rather who was going to do this." Prue pipes up.
"Maybe the Book of Shadows can tell us who this man is. He's probably a warlock the way that Cadence described him to you, Pheebs." Piper says. "Go up to the attic with me after I fix dinner, and we can research about this demon."
Patty finished a long day at the café, and she came home to a very big dinner cooked and everyone was waiting for her.
"Welcome home, Mom. We fixed you dinner. We ate some time ago, but we also still waited up for you." Prue told their Mom.
"How was everyone's day?" She asked each of them but looked at each of her daughters. She looked at Cadence who seemed to hardly look at Patty.
"You had to leave school early, Cadence? What happened, my darling?"
"What?" Cadence looked up and asked, "You already knew I left early?"
"I know, but I had a very strong feeling something was wrong. What did you see?"
Cadence looked at Patty. "I saw a man looming over Dad. I guess it was a premonition, but it seemed so real. There was blood on my hands, but I didn't kill him. I just looked at a guy who looked like he morphed into me. He's the convict I saw on the TV at school. Guess he got out of prison."
"If he morphed, it's definitely a demon. Did anyone look in the Book of Shadows, while I was at work today?"
"Piper and I did, Mom, after we made dinner." Phoebe told her.
"Alright. We think about making a spell for vanquishing, once it comes to drastic measures. For now, unless we see this man or have contact with him, no plans."
"Mom, we don't take action? What if this man was the same one who had fought Grams and killed her? Wouldn't it be safe to go ahead with a plan, in case he thinks of striking again or with an accomplice?" Piper seemed utterly concerned as did everyone else.
"Yes, my darlings. We will, I promise."
