Chapter 4

Cadence debated on going back to school. She was afraid she'd see more visions, but it beat staying home and worrying about the game plan, she guessed.

She walked into school. Her one friend came up to her. "What happened? You left right after lunch yesterday. Did you get sick from eating the cafeteria meatloaf? You looked pale."

Cadence let out a laugh to lighten how she felt in this moment. "No, no. The meatloaf was fine. Just felt lightheaded all of a sudden. My sister came and picked me up. All better. Today should be a breeze. Any homework I missed?"

"Just Phys Ed. You know, PE? Just basketball. I would've played for you, but you know..."

"Would've chipped a nail?" She rolled her eyes. "Right. If it meant my grade, I wouldn't have cared."

"Of course not, Cae. You're a tomboy not a princess, like me."

"Regi, you are not a princess, just a normal teenager who's preppy and doesn't like to 'get down and dirty' as they say. I'm not going to miss one more class today, even if I think I've seen a ghost, alright?" Cadence promised.

"Now, come on, Regi, let's go to homeroom before the second bell rings."

"Yes, your sportiness." She jokes.
