Chapter 6
Cadence got home, and she immediately ran upstairs to her room for homework. "Finally, peace and quiet. Maybe." She began to tell herself.
She finished her homework by dinnertime. Her sisters were chatting away downstairs. "Whatever this is – it's a fluke. It'll go away by morning." She told herself aloud.
She picked up the makeup mirror and saw her father's face. "Help me, Pandora, please. Pandora, please!"
Cadence put down the mirror so fast, she thought it would crack. "I'm crazy. I'm going crazy. I don't know my father that well, and he called me by my middle name. Pandora, not Cadence."
"Something you want to share?"
Cadence saw Patty in the doorway. "Oh, no, Mom. Just thought I heard someone scream for help, that's all."
"Who would that be, darling?"
"I guess... call me crazy, but I thought I heard Dad screaming. I don't really know him to begin with, but he could be in extreme danger. More than we realize."
"Victor? Well, he left when you were young, but Piper, Prue and Phoebe have told me you've seen yourself several times?"
"Yeah, like at school. I've had visions. Of him getting hurt and now he's asking me to help him."
"We don't want to rule anything out yet, but the girls and I have been doing research. This may be a shapeshifting demon problem."
"One day, yesterday, I believe, I heard there was a convict who had been released from jail or he broke out. Could it be him, Mom? The demon shapeshifter?"
Patty shrugs. "It could be. We don't know. We have to keep an eye out and begin to make a plan just in case."
Great, just great.
