Toriko: Namu's Buffet

Chapter: 32

"Tsubaki VS. Sarco: Part 1"

The happy cheers of the baby Wall Penguin after reuniting with its parents warmed Tsubaki's heart. As stressful as the situation she and Namu found themselves in, at least a loving family was together again.

Tsubaki thought of her parents. Her mom, Hana, teaching her how to cook, which kitchen tools to use for certain Ingredients, and about the Goddess of Chefs, Froese.

She thought of her father, Tora, taking her around the Human World to hunt different Beasts, how he would keep his composure, even when fighting massive monsters.

Tsubaki smiled.

Suddenly, a long, disgusting bug flew from Tommyrod's mouth, burying itself into one of the adult Wall Penguins before bursting back out, and back in again.

Tsubaki watched in horror as the bug flew from the first Wall Penguin into the forehead of the other, before the bug was killed by Toriko, Match, and Takimaru.

"HAHAHAHA!" Sarco laughed. "Well done Tommyrod-sama!"

With tears and fury in her eyes, Tsubaki turned to Sarco.

"You think that's funny?! Are you guys even gonna eat those poor creatures? Or are you just heartless?!"

Sarco looked at Tsubaki with an evil grin.

"To answer your first question, yes. And to answer your second question, no."

Sarco began slowly walking towards Tsubaki, puffing out his chest, much like an animal looking for a mate.

"My dear, you are FAR too beautiful to be accompanying these dullards. Why don't you join us?"

"I will NEVER join you freaks!" Tsubaki yelled.

Sarco's face quickly transformed from a confident smile to a deep scowl.

"You had one chance, and you didn't take it. Oh well." Sarco shrugged.

Sarco lightly put his fingertip against Tsubaki's shoulder.

"AGH!" Tsubaki screamed as the intense pain shot through her shoulder.

"How did he do that?! All he did was tap my shoulder! And why did it feel so hot?!" Tsubaki thought.

As Sarco backed away, Tsubaki got a better look at her wound. It was small and round, about the size and shape of a bullet from a handgun. However, there was a small stream of smoke coming from it.

"Would you like some seconds?!" Sarco boasted as he jumped even farther back.

Sarco pointed all ten of his fingers towards Tsubaki.

It was then that she noticed what appeared to be a small hole in each of Sarco's fingertips.

"What in the world? Is that how he hurt my shoulder? He must be able to shoot something out of those holes."

Before she could process the information, the holes in Sarco's fingertips began opening. What followed was a flurry of projectiles ripping through Tsubaki's torso as well as her arms, each projectile being hotter than the last.

"AAAAAAGH!" Tsubaki screamed in pain once more. "This is getting old!"

Tsubaki managed to muster enough strength to raise her right arm, and by extension, her kitchen knife.

"SCREW YOU! JULIENNE SLICE!" Tsubaki yelled as she swung her knife downwards, sending dozens of thin blades of teal-colored Appetite Energy towards Sarco.

"WHAT?!" Sarco raised his arms over his head and torso to protect his essential areas, but got slashed all over his arms.

As blood began pouring from Sarco's arms, the bleeding suddenly stopped.

"What? How did he do that? Can he just deny damage or something?" Tsubaki thought to herself. "Guess I'll just have to hit harder."

Tsubaki spun her knife in her hand, now holding it in a "reverse-grip" style. She then ran towards Sarco.

"Let's see you heal from this!" Tsubaki raised her right arm again. "SASHIMI STAB!"

Just when Tsubaki thrusted her hand downward, it suddenly stopped as Sarco grabbed her wrist.

"Enough of this." Sarco said, calmly. "BOILING PUNCH!"

Sarco smashed his clenched fist into Tsubaki's stomach, almost knocking her out.

Tsubaki fell to the ground in intense pain. She began coughing up blood as she held her gut. When she looked at the area Sarco punched, she saw that her Rider Suit had been burnt through and there was a large burn around the majority of her stomach and abdomen.

END OF CHAPTER!

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hey guys, hope you liked this one. I'm glad that we're actually getting into the fighting now. I've sorta been lacking motivation lately, but I think I know why. I usually read one chapter of Toriko before writing a chapter of Namu's Buffet, so maybe I should read the manga more often? I think that will help.

I'm planning the next arc of Namu's Buffet to be more original, so I should be able to read the manga at a quicker pace, which will (probably) make me more excited to write. I think that's how that works.

Still thinkin' of doing a Fairy Tail fic in addition to this, but I'll deal with that later.

Until next time.
