"Storm's coming. And you three and your daddy, you are smack in the middle of it." Bobby warned you guys...
THE ROAD SO FAR...
As you were about to try opening the door you noticed a man standing in the kitchen through the door's window next to your mom. Then you watched as he grabbed her by her neck and pierced through her chest with his hand and blood covered the floor below her body. You were about to call the police, but you noticed the other bodies laying on the floor around them, which looked like your father and Sarah. You froze from the shock and dropped your phone causing him to look towards the door, as you went to lean out of sight you noticed his bright, yellow eyes which felt like they could stare into your soul...
"He wants us to pick up where he left off...saving people, hunting things. The family business." Dean stated...
"You guys aren't FBI agents are you?" You asked.
It got quiet while you waited for their response. "No we're not," Agent Clapton replied. "My name is Sam and that is my brother Dean, we are hunters."
"Hunters?" You asked wondering what they meant.
"Yeah hunters, we hunt monsters, like vampires, werewolves, and spirits," Dean replied...
"Hey guys!" You said running up to them. They both stopped and looked at you."I wanna go with you."
"No way," Dean said said turning you down.
"Come on Dean, she has been helpful on the last few cases," Sam said liking the idea of you joining them.
Dean thought about it for a moment and sighed. "Fine, but you need to be careful and listen to everything we say" Dean said giving in.
"Alright!" You said smiling at them. They both smiled at you and the three of you walked out of the airport. Not knowing what you just got yourself into, but you had a feeling you wouldn't regret it...
"Our whole lives we have been searching for this demon. Samuel Colt made a gun. They say this gun can kill anything. We finally know where this demon's gonna be. And now, we know how to kill it." John revealed...
"More and more demons are walking among us." Bobby warned...
"Y/N, what are you doin'?" Dean asked you.
"What the hell's going on?" Sam asked as he looked between you and John.
"Either Y/N's lost her mind or she's the demon." John stated.
"He's not John." You said not taking your eyes off of John.
"What?" Dean and Sam asked in unison.
"I think he's possessed by the demon. Probably since we rescued him." You explained...
"It's simple your parents were a threat to me." Yellow-eyes answered. You looked at him with a confused look on your face. "Oh what? Mommy and daddy didn't tell you? They were hunters and they wouldn't stop until they killed me." Finally it all made sense the business trips they took all the time, the basement you were never allowed in. "Kathleen and Daniel L/N, they really were the cutest pair of hunters. You see, it all started on the day you turned six months old and I tried to sneak into your room to give you a little gift. They somehow got word and stopped me and almost killed me in the process. I had to run away and wait for another two years so another special batch of kids could be born, little Sammy included. They kept going after me for over twenty years trying to kill me, all for the sake of their family. So when the time came for I paid them a little visit even used one of their most trusted friends as a meat suit. And I savored every moment of killing them, especially the twins. The way Kathleen wailed, cried, cursed, and begged for their lives. It made my day."...
"I have plans for you, Sammy. You and all the children like you." Yellow-eyes shared...
"It's inside me. I can feel it. Hey, shoot me. I can't hold on to it much longer." John cried...
"Why didn't you kill it?" John asked Sam.
"We got the Colt. We still have two bullets left." Sam began...
You noticed a bright light coming towards you guys from the right side of the car. "Sam! Sam!" You shouted but it was too late. Asemi truck rammed into the side of the Impala. Just before the impact you covered Dean with your body to protect him the best you could as you felt something pierce through your lower back and out through your stomach. Thankfully you were able to protect Dean from most of the damage. You watched as blood poured out of your wound before you felt unconscious...
NOW...
"She's lost a lot of blood. Significant passenger space intrusion. Unresponsive. BP, 180 over 50-" You heard as you faded in and out of consciousness. When you tried to open your eyes it was too bright to see, until your eyes adjusted to the brightness. You were in a living room, but not just any living room. You were in the house that you lived in during your childhood with your parents, Sarah, and your older brother, Ryan. He had a big fight with your father and moved out, and cut off contact with them. That was before Allie and Elliot were born. Everything was pretty as you remembered from your childhood, except everything was way too bright. It was like someone turned the exposure way up.
"Y/N." You heard a woman say behind you. You quickly turned around to see your mother, Kathleen standing there.
"Mom? What are you doing here? Am I dreaming?" You asked. Then you remembered everything that just happened. The semi, you protecting Dean. "Oh, am I dead?"
"Not yet, but you will be soon." Kathleen told you.
"Oh this must be that bright light that I've always heard about." You quipped as you looked around the room. "So, were you and dad really Hunters?"
"Yes, we were afraid that the demon would come after you, Sarah, or the twins." Kathleen explained.
"Yeah, and look how that turned out." You muttered.
"It'll be all right, though. I've come to take you home." Kathleen smiled at you as she held out her hand. That's when you noticed something off about the living room. There was an urn sitting on the fireplace that shouldn't have been there. "Come on, Y/N everybody is waiting for you."
"Who are you?" You asked her.
"What do you mean, I'm your mother." Kathleen stated.
"You're not my mom, I know because that urn shouldn't be there." You explained as you pointed to the urn on the fireplace. "It had grandma's ashes in it and I hated it. It always gave me the creeps. I broke it on purpose one day and you were livid. I had never seen you so angry, before. So you collected the ashes and removed them from the house. So, I'll ask one more time, who are you?" Kathleen laughed.
"You're smarter than I first thought...I'm a reaper." The Reaper revealed.
"That's a dick move you pulled." You growled at her.
"I know, but I needed a quick and easy way to get you to come to heaven with me." She shared.
"Well I'm not going, Sam and Dean still need me. And that demon is still out there." You decided.
"They will be just fine without you, after-all you were never supposed to meet them." She hinted.
"What do you mean by that?" You questioned.
"It doesn't matter, just come with me." She insisted.
"Like hell, I will!" You seethed as you looked around for an exit. The windows wouldn't budge and there were no other doors except for the one behind the reaper.
"You don't understand, those boys, they have so much pain and suffering coming their way, but you don't have to go through that if you come with me." She warned you.
"I don't care." You huffed as you walked past her to the door.
"If you open that door, you will only live a life of misery and pain. You will never know happiness!" She shouted.
"Fine with me! Sam and Dean would never abandon me so I won't do it to them!" You proclaimed as you opened the door and stepped through it. As you walked into the light all you heard was loud beeping ringing through your head.
Then you woke up and sat up in bed, you were in a hospital room with an EKG monitor beeping next to you tracking your heart rate and blood pressure. You took a few deep breaths as you looked at your stomach. There were a lot of stitches and gauze wrapped around your lower abdomen. You remembered the accident, Sam, John, and Dean. You quickly unplugged the monitor and the IV and got out of bed. You felt pain rush through your body as you held your stomach, but you had no time for that. You needed to find Sam and Dean. "Sam! Dean!" You called as you slowly walked into the hallway using the wall as support. Suddenly a couple of nurses found you and tried to stop you.
"Ma'am, you shouldn't be moving!" The nurses advised you as they grabbed you.
"You don't understand I need to find my friends. Where are they?" You cried as you fought against them.
"Come on!" The nurses ordered you.
"Sam! Dean!" You screamed as you tried to get away.
"Y/N!" You heard Sam shout from down the hall.
"Sam!" You cried as he ran over to you. The nurses let go of you as you gave Sam a big hug.
"I'm so glad you're okay." Sam smiled relief spreading across his face.
"Where's Dean!? Is he all right?" You asked Sam as his smile fell which made your heart drop.
The nurses got you a wheel chair so Sam could take you to Dean's room. You looked into Dean's room to see him laying lifeless on the bed. If it wasn't for the EKG monitor beeping by his bed you could have sworn he was dead."The doctors say they can't do much for him, it all depends on him." Sam shared as you both looked in on him. "Things could have been a lot worse if it wasn't for you though, Y/N. You protected him from most of the force from the impact and you stopped that debris from hitting him."
"I didn't even think about it, I just did it." You stated.
"Still, thank you." Sam smiled slightly as he looked down at you. Suddenly you felt a familiar presence near you, it felt like Dean.
"Hey, Sam do you feel that?" You asked him as you felt a breeze go by you.
"Yeah, I did." Sam agreed.
So you and Sam went to John's room to talk about what was going on."What do you mean, you "felt something"? John questioned as he looked between you and Sam. Thankfully John looked better than you thought, he had some cuts and bruises but he would live.
"I mean, it felt like-" Sam began.
"Like Dean. Like he was there, just out of eye-shot or something." You continued.
"It can't be my psychic thing 'cause Y/N felt it too. But do you think it's even possible? You think his spirit could be around?" Sam asked John.
"Anything's possible." John nodded his head.
"Well, there's one way to find out." Sam hinted.
"Where you going?" John asked Sam.
"I gotta pick something up. I'll be back." Sam said as he started walking out the door.
"Wait, Sam. I promise, I won't hunt this demon. Not until we know Dean's okay." John promised Sam. Then Sam left the room. "By the way, I'm glad you're okay Y/N, you went out of your way to protect Dean."
"But he's still-" You started.
"I'd say you've more than earned your place in this family. And Dean will be fine, don't you worry too much about him." John smiled at you. "I never you to do me a favor, though."
"Sure anything." You nodded.
"If anything ever happens to Sam, and Dean and I aren't around, make sure you save him no matter what." John told you.
"Of course, it isn't even a question." You nodded, looking at him with resolve in your eyes.
Once Sam got back from the store he took you back to Dean's room holding a brown paper bag. Dean was still in the same condition from earlier and you both just sighed as you looked at him. "Hey. We think maybe you're around. And if you are...you'll make fun of me for this. But, um...But there's one way we can talk." Sam told Dean as he pulled a talking board out of the bag.
"Are you kidding me? A talking board?" You asked as Sam positioned your wheel chair in the middle of the room and Sam sat on the ground with the board in front of him.
"This is the quickest way to see if Dean is with us or not." Sam pointed out.
"Yeah, yeah. If he is here he must be shaking his head at us right now." You commented as you watched Sam unbox it.
"Dean? Dean, are you here?" Sam asked.
"Man it feels like we're at a teenage slumber party." You quipped as you watched the pointer move across the board to yes. "Nevermind."
"Oh it's good to hear from you, man. It hasn't been the same without you, Dean." Sam chuckled relieved to know Dean was with you guys. "Dean, what?" Sam questioned as you watched Dean try to spell something out.
"H...U..."Hunt"?" You spelled as you watched the pointer move.
"What, hunting or-Are you hunting?" Sam asked and Dean said yes. "Dean, it's in the hospital what you're hunting. Do you know what it is? What is it? A reaper? Dean...is it after you?"
"Ah, sh*t!" You cursed remembering your recent encounter with a reaper.
"What, Y/N?" Sam asked you.
"Just before I woke up a reaper was trying to get me, too. It tricked and deceived me in an attempt to get me to pass on. Dean it's probably disguising itself as someone around you, so it can convince you to go to heaven." You warned him. "So please be careful until we can get you back into your body, okay?"
"If it's here naturally...there's no way to stop it. How did you get away?" Sam asked you.
"I don't know, I just said no and walked through a door and woke up." You explained.
"Man, Dean's...No. No, no, no." Sam muttered under his breath."There's gotta be a way. Oh, there's gotta be a way. Dad will know what to do." Sam decided as he started to walk out of the room.
"Um, what about me, Sam?" You called over to him.
"Stay here with him." Sam told you as he left.
"Ah, sure I'll just...be here then." You murmured. Sam was only gone for a few minutes though before he came back. "What happened?"
"Hey, so Dad wasn't in his room." Sam answered.
"Where is he, then?" You asked him.
"Good news is I got Dad's journal, so who knows? Maybe there's something in here." Sam suggested as he sat down on Dean's bed and flipped through the journal. It mentioned how reapers can alter human perception, which matched up with what happened to you. They can make themselves appear however they want. Like, someone's mother. They have a sandbox, they can make people see whatever they want.
You and Sam couldn't find anything in John's journal on how to stop a reaper, so you had no choice but to wait for John to come back. Sam went to look for John again while you stayed with Dean. "Dean, are you here? We couldn't find anything in the book. I wish I knew how to help you. But we'll keep trying, okay? You just need to keep fighting, too. I mean, come on, you can't-You can't leave me alone with Sam and John. They'll kill each other. You know that. You can't...You can't leave me alone. Please, you gotta hold on. You're not allowed to go. Not now. I finally found a place to belong again. You better be able to hear me." You cried as you held on tightly to his hand. Suddenly Dean's eyes popped open and he took a deep breath. "Dean! Help! I need help!" You shouted into the hallway as Sam came back to the room.
"Dean!" Sam cried as he ran over to the bed.
"I can't explain it. The edema's vanished, the internal contusions are healed. Your vitals are good. You gotta have some kind of angel watching over you." The doctor shared the report.
"Thanks, doc." Dean groaned still sore from everything that happened. "You said a reaper was after me?" Dean asked you and Sam.
"Yeah." Sam nodded.
"How'd I ditch it?" Dean wondered.
"You got me." Sam shrugged. You found it weird that Dean didn't remember anything as a spirit. Since you remembered everything that happened with your reaper. Especially her warning about the pain and suffering, not to mention the part about how you shouldn't have been able to meet Sam and Dean. You felt a weight lift off your shoulders, but your heart still felt heavy.
"Dean, you really don't remember anything?" You asked him.
"No. Except this pit in my stomach. Guys, something's wrong." Dean admitted as you heard knocking on the door.
"How are you feeling, dude?" John asked Dean as he leaned in the doorway.
"Fine, I guess. I'm alive." Dean shrugged.
"That's what matters." John smiled at Dean.
"Where were you last night?" Sam asked John.
"I had some things to take care of." John stated.
"Well, that's specific." Sam mocked.
"Come on, Sam." Dean groaned.
"Did you go after the demon?" Sam questioned John.
"No." John answered.
"You know. Why don't I believe you right now?" Sam scoffed.
"Can we not fight? You know, half the time I don't know what we're even fighting about. We're just butting heads. Sammy, I've-I've made some mistakes. But I've always done the best I could. I just don't wanna fight anymore, okay?" John expressed.
"Dad, are you all right?" Sam asked him.
"Yeah. I'm just a little tired. Hey, Sammy, would you mind...? Do you mind taking Y/N, and getting me a cup of caffeine?" John asked Sam.
"Yeah. Yeah, sure." Sam nodded as he pushed your wheelchair out of the room. As you passed by John on the way out it felt like you weren't going to see him again. Sam stopped you by the coffee machine and paid for John's coffee. "Hey, Y/N, are you okay?" Sam asked you.
"Yeah, why?" You wondered as you looked up at him.
"'Cause you're crying..." Sam pointed out. That's when you finally noticed the tears streaming down your face.
"I don't know, maybe I'm just relieved to know Dean's all right." You speculated.
"Yeah, me too." Sam smiled weakly as he pushed you back to Dean's room with the cup of coffee. On the way back you passed by John's old room and your heart stopped. "Dad." Sam whispered as he dropped the cup on the floor and ran over to John's lifeless body. You watched him break down as he screamed for help. The doctor and nurse ran in to try and save him, while Sam went and brought Dean to join you guys in the room.
"You'll have to wait outside." Nurse 1 told you three.
"No, it's our dad. It's our dad!" Dean cried as he tried to get in the room.
"Five hundred cc's ready to go." Nurse 2 spoke.
"Let's try again. An amp of atropine." The doctor ordered.
"Come on." Dean whispered.
"Pushing atropine. In." Nurse 3 spoke.
"Okay, stop compression." The doctor ordered.
"Stopped. Last breath." Nurse 3 said.
"Come one, come on." Dean whispered again.
"Still no pulse." Nurse 3 spoke.
"Okay, that's it, everybody. I'll call it. Time of death, 10:41 a.m." The doctor declared. There was nothing you could do, but sit there and cry, while you remembered what the reaper said.
"Those boys, they have so much pain and suffering coming their way. If you open that door, you will only live a life of misery and pain. You will never know happiness!" The reapers words echoed in your head.
