Trigger warnings in this chapter are mentions of domestic violence and rape/non - con. Again it's not described just mentioned in conversation.

Ivy had shared the bed with Harley at the blondes request many times before so this was nothing new for her but she still felt butterflies in her stomach when the younger girl snuggled up to her wrapping her arm around Ivy's waste and nuzzling her head into Ivy's friends, we're just friends Ivy. She had to remind herself although part of her knew that cuddling in bed was not the most normal thing for two adults who werejust friendsto do. Although, Harley wasn't exactlynormal.

Ivy rubbed her back in small soothing circles until she heard Harley's breathing even out as she fell asleep. Ivy settled in and went to sleep herself.

Ivy awoke to an ear-piercing scream and terror shot through her entire body. Before she could even sit up her vines had burst into the room growing thorns and snaking around the room looking for the danger.

As she tried to sit up, she felt Harley's weight on her as another scream rippled through Harley's body. "Harley! Harley what's going on?" Ivy was confused and scared as to what was causing the younger woman so much pain. Harley's hand gripped on to Ivy's waste so hard it hurt. Then she started kicking and lashing out at Ivy. Ivy struggled out from beneath her and managed to flick the beside lamp on. She looked down at Harley and saw her eyes were screwed shut and tears were streaming down her cheek. As Ivy realised Harley was having a nightmare, she called off the vines attack. The vines hesitated as Ivy was still under attack from Harley's rogue limbs lashing out against her but Ivy firmly told them to get out and they finally retreated back through the door they came through.

After a particularly painful punch to her gut, Ivy grasped and pinned Harley's hands to the bed. This did not help Harley's nightmare as the girl screamed again and thrashed more wildly. Ivy did not know what to is someone so little so goddam strong?Ivy thought.

Ivy rolled over and straddled the blonde to restrain her. She felt guilt wash over her knowing that this was probably only adding fuel to the nightmare but she had to wake her up. She abandoned her clasp on Harley's arms and gripped her shoulders shaking her roughly hoping she wasn't doing any more damage to her already broken body. "Harley?! Harls please wake up! You're okay. Wake up!" Ivy was almost yelling now in her desperation.

Harley suddenly sat bolt upright smacking her forehead straight into Ivy's. Before Ivy could react to the pain; Harley was shoving her off of her. Ivy made this easier and baked up off the bed as quickly as possible giving the blonde space. She felt dizzy after the blow to head but knew Harley must be in just as much pain.

"Sweetie, you're okay. It was dream, it's just you and me here." Ivy comforted from the side of the bed. Harley was breathing heavily to the point of hyperventilating. She scooted herself quickly backwards in an effort to retreat until she hit the backboard and huddled in on herself trying to make herself as small as possible. Her eyes were darting wildly around the room trying to understand her surroundings until her eyes finally rested on Ivy's and she calmed down significantly.

Ivy noticed the change in Harley's breathing and took this as a sign it was okay to approach again. "Pammy?" She asked still out of breath and tears flowing freely down her face.

"I'm here, you're okay. It's just you and me here, no one's hurting you. You're in my house, no one can get to you here, okay?" Ivy comforted.

Harley nodded and tried to focus on her breathing to calm herself down as Ivy saton the edge of the bed. Harley took in Ivy's appearance. She was confused as to why Ivy's lip was bleeding and then clicked. "Oh my god, Ives, you're face! Did I do that?"

"I'm alright, don't worry about me." Ivy said genuinely. The tears flowed quicker from Harley's eyes and she let out a small sob. "I-I'm so sorry I hurt yah." She cried between sobs.

"Really Harley it's okay. It's my fault, I shouldn't have pinned you down like that, I just couldn't get you to wake up." Ivy explained. Harley didn't reply and continued to cry. Ivy moved closer to the blonde making sure all her movements were slow as to not spook her further. She raised her arm motioning Harley in for hug which Harley accepted immediately snuggling her head in to Ivy's neck. Ivy stroked her back and whispered comforting words until the crying subsided.

Ivy didn't realise she had fallen asleep until she woke up to an empty space besides her. "Harls?" She called out. She looked at the clock and saw it was still early; 6 o'clock. She stumbled out of bed her head still ringing with a splitting headache from the events of last night.

"Harley?" Ivy called out again, fearing the younger woman had already taken off again until she saw blonde pig tails peeking out from the top of her couch. "Harls what are you doing up so early?" This was very uncharacteristic for gymnast who was normally impossible to wake up before noon.

Getting no response, Ivy made her way around the couch. She saw Harleystaring at the TV that had cartoons playing but with the volume turned down so low Ivy could barely make out what was happening. Harley did not notice Ivy standing off to the side of the television and had an empty, unfocused look in her eyes with her knees pulled up to her chest. Again, this was very muchnottypical for Harley who would normally blare her cartoons at full volume, giggling animatedly throughout or begging Ivy to come watch with her. There was justnothing.

Ivy moved closer to the woman on the couch and waved her hand in front of her face to get her attention. "Harls?" This time Ivy managed to get her attention. The blonde looked startled as she took in Ivy's presence. "Ives... Sorry I was just watchen' some TV." When Harley finally looked up at Ivy she noticed the bump and slight bruising appearing on the older the older woman's lips and chin. "I'm so sorry." She said as she reached up off the couch to lightly touch the bruise.

"Don't sweat it, you know me. Super human healing and everything, I'm alright." Harley removed her hand and looked guiltily. Ivy missed the touch.

"How are you feeling?" She asked gauging Harley's expressions carefully. She remained sitting but looked away from Ivy, fiddling with drawstring on her pants for a few moments. Then she looked off in to space again seeming to zone out, it looked as though she was having an internal battle with herself. Ivy, noticing this, gave her a few minutes before placing her hand on her shoulder to regain her attention. Harley suddenly straightened up and plastered on a trademark Harley Quinn smile and beamed up at Ivy. "I'm good Red! Feel'n much bettah than yesterday! Thanks to you." Ivy knew the smile was fake, she had seen her real smile often enough to know the difference, but she chose to ignore it.

"That's good, I'm glad. So... you're up early, what gives?" Ivy asked. "Oh, nothin' really, just couldn't get back to sleep and didn't wanna wake ya up again." She explained. Ivy noticed the deep bags under Harley's eyes that blended in with the rest of the blue and purple bruising. "Yeah, that was quite the nightmare you had last night hey? Do you wanna talk about it?" Ivy asked feeling suddenly awkward.

"No-pe" Harley said popping the 'p' sound.

"Okay... um how about I make you some breakfast? I can make pancakes?" Ivy offered. "No offence Pammy but ya pancakes are shit." Harley laughed and Ivy couldn't help but smile. 'My pancakes are shit.. And at least she's joking around again.'Ivy thought "it's okay Red, I get the hint I'll make yapammycakes." Harley made to get off the couch heading towards the kitchen, her movement was stiff and less bouncy than usual. "Wha- no, I was not trying to con you into-"

"I know I know, I'll make em' vegan for ya." Harley said cutting off the red heads sentence. Ivy decided to drop it, she did love Harley's 'pammycakes.'

Ivy watched Harley get to work in the kitchen surprised by her sudden mood change, there was somethingoffabout it that Ivy couldn't put her finger on. She watched Harley as she began pulling ingredients from the kitchen creating a chaotic mess as she went. Harley had almost finished the first blueberry pancake,Ivy's favourite of course, when she startled Ivy from her thoughts with a sudden smack of the spatula on the counter in front of Ivy. "Ya staring at me Red." She said.

"Oh, sorry." Ivy said feeling the blush creep into her cheeks. She noticed a small spot of flour on the top of Harley's nose and couldn't help but smile widely at her. "What? What's funny? Have I got something on my face?" Harley said causing Ivy to giggle. "Red! Stop laughing at me!" Harley said feeling self-conscious and brushing everywhere on her face but the spot of flour. Ivy laughed harder at this. "Here let me help you." Ivy stood up and made her way over to Harley and gently brushed the flour off her nose, she suddenly noticed how close she was to Harley and made an involuntary glance towards Harley's lips, hand still resting on Harley's cheek. She felt tingles in her stomach as Harley smiled at her, moving her head just inches away from Ivy's. Ivy took in a deep shuddering breath frozen from Harley's movements and realised seconds to late that the smile was looking more mischievous than lustful. Then a cloud of flour hit her face.

"Harleen Quinzel! You did not just do that." She heard another giggle from the blonde and was assaulted with more flicks of flour. "You're so gonna get it!" Ivy made for the tap turning it on and immediately flicking drops of water at Harley. They continued their fight making an ungodly mess of the kitchen until the smoke alarm went off shocking them out of there fun.

"Oh shit!" Harley ran towards the pan that was smoking on the cooktop and threw it into the sink running the water over it with a sizzle. "Ah crap!" Both girls laughed. "You started it!" Ivy accused.

"Yah well! Now you've wasted a pammycake and are gonna have to wait for another!" Harley said as she grabbed a new pan and began making another pancake. She waved her spatula menacingly at Ivy. "No more distractions miss!" Ivy raised her hands in surrender and sat back down on her stool. When the food was finally ready Harley carried the plate of food along with a can of whipped cream, chocolate chips and ice cream, which Ivy only kept in stock specifically for Harley, and a few strawberries for Pam and placed it out for them to enjoy.

Pam got stuck in to her pancake immediately, she didn't realise how hungry she was and flicked the cartoons back on for Harley. Harley made up her own ridiculously over sugared plate and nestled in next to Ivy. They ate in silence, Ivy trying to make sense of the colourful characters bouncing around on the screen. She went to ask Harley a question about the show but when she looked over Harley was sound asleep, knife and fork still in her hands and most of her plate left untouched. Ivy couldn't get passed how cute an image this was and quickly grabbed her phone out snapping a shot to blackmail Harley with later. After she had finished her own plate, she slowly removedHarley'sand delicately laid her down on the couch placing a blanket over her and then got to work on cleaning the destroyed kitchen.

Checking on Harley again and satisfied that the sleeping girl would not be waking up anytime soon she went to her roof top to attend to her plants.

Ivy had been working for months towards making a vaccine that would work on other humans in a similar way to how her own body did. She hadn't told anyone about it but her plan was to one day be able to give it to Harley to make her stronger and less of a fragile human being. She didn't like to admit that she had all but given up on her plans to take down Gotham city by poisoning the water ways with a chemical that would turn all humanity into zombie like had she gotten so soft?.Ivy thought to herself.

She felt her phone vibrating in her lab coat and pulled it out to see Selina's name and picture pop up. "Well look what the cat dragged in, haven't heard from you in weeks, how's Spain?" Ivy asked

"Hello to you too dear, and that joke doesn't really work over the phone. I got back this morning actually. The men in Spain were starting to bore me." She replied, her voice deep with is usual thick purr.

"You mean you missed Bats and couldn't stand to be away from him for even one more second?" Ivy teased. There on-again off-again relationship was exhausting for Ivy to keep up with but he had lasted the longest of any of Selina's flings.

"Jealous much? Anyway, that's not why I called. Bruce just informed me that Harley and Joker had a 'fight' according to one of Joker's brainless goons, and no-ones spotted her since. I was hoping you knew her whereabouts before I send out a search party for the girl." Selina replied, Ivyknewshe had come back for him. Ivy teased the woman a bit before explaining the situation with Harley and assuring Selina that she was indeed safe and asleep on her couch.

"Remind me why we haven't killed Joker yet? It would solve so many problems and then you and Harley could finally get in each other's pants and live out your lesbian fantasy that I know you've been thinking about since you first metDr Harleen Quinzel."Ivy felt the blood rushing to her cheeks immediately at this comment. "How many times do I have to tell you we are justfriends."Ivy replied angrily. "We're friends Pamela, and you don't see me trying to fuck you with my eyes every time were together now do you?" Ivy's jaw hung open at this comment as she struggled to get out a reply.

"Mmm-hmm that's what I thought. Now back to the topic at hand. Killing Joker - I have nothing on tonight and could use something fun to do while Bruce is outsaving the day. What do you say, team up like the old days?"

"Selina, you know we can't do that. Believe me, I want to." Ivy paused fantasising about all the different gruesome ways she come up with to kill him over the years. She let out a happy sigh at the thought. It wasn't that she didn't think she could win the fight, she definitely could. Behind his goon's; Joker was really just a pathetic stick of a man that Ivy could snap in two with one quick swift flick of her vines. But she knew Harley would never talk to her again if she did.

"And tell me again why exactly not?" Selina asked. "Harleyloveshim. Or at least, she thinks she would never forgive us." Ivy explained.

"Well, we can't just let her keep going back to him again and again Pam, one of these days he's going to kill her." Selina said in an unusually serious tone for her. Pam leaned back against her desk running her hand through her hair, something she did when she was anxious. "I know... but this time I think there's something different. She said she didn't want to go back to him. Maybe they're finally done and maybe we'll even be able to convince her to kill him herself one of these days. But she's not ready yet Selina. She needs time to heal and figure out what she wants."

Ivy heard a heavy sigh on the other end of the line. "How veryboringof you Pamela. Well, if you change your mind, you know where to find me. And please, pleaselet me know if she decides to do it herself. I would giveanythingto watch that happen." Ivy grinned at the image of Harley smacking him over the head with her baseball bat.

She was startled out of thoughts by a scream from Harley. "Shit! I gotta' go Selina." She heard the cat start to say "What the hell was that" but she had already hung up and was racing out of her office and back down the stairs.

She found Harley in a very similar position to last night accept this time Lou was curled up whimpering at her from the floor of the couch. Ivy guessed he had been kicked off when the nightmare started. "Harley, wake up. It's just nightmare." Ivy soothed. She saw Harley's nails digging into her palm so hard blood was appearing in tinycrescent moons. She thought about grabbing her hands again but immediately thought better of it after the reaction from last night. She instead decided to kneel down in front of Harley and continue saying soothing words hoping the sound of voice would bring Harley back to reality.

It was hard for Ivy to just sit and watch, she desperately wanted to the shake the girl awake. Her kind words paid off in the end as Harley finally woke up, much less violently than last night. "Ives?" Harley murmured; her eyes still shut and wet with tears.

"I'm here Peanut." Ivy said reaching out for the girl's hand. Harley took it at first giving it a small squeeze before grimacing at the slight pain coming from her bleeding palm. She opened her eyes and withdrew her hand from Ivy's inspecting the blood. She suddenly jolted her head up looking at Ivy fearfully. "I didn't hurtcha again, did I?" She asked panicked. "No not at all. I am completely uninjured, promise." Ivy answered offering a small smile.

Lou whimpered again and politely asked to get up on the couch now that Harley was awake. "What about you baby? I didn't hurt 'cha did I?" Lou licked Harley's face eagerly. Pam laughed at the sight. "He seems just fine Harls."

Ivy watched as Harley let Lou snuggle on top of her. "Do you want to get into bed Harls?" Harley nodded her head sleepily but made no move to get up. Ivy ordered her vines underneath Harley and her hyena and carried the pair to Harley's room. By the time Ivy placed them both down Harley was already back asleep. Ivy swiftly kissed the girl on the forehead before calling the Hyena out of the room with her. "Come feed you or Harley will be upset when you starve to death." The hyena followed her eagerly and Ivy begrudgingly gave him what was left of Harley's pancakes. She would have to go out and get him some real food soon.

She got back to work and cleaned up her previous mess before starting a fresh. She worked for hours before her stomach started to growl. She sighed and put down her papers checking the time. '3pm already'She thought. She left her greenhouse decided to check on Harley on the way. She popped her head in the room. "Harls, you want some lunch?" No answer. Harley was facing away from her, head on the pillow covered. Deciding sleep was more important than food right now she gently closed the door and got back to making her own lunch.

She made a boring salad with falafels that Harley would hate and sat in silence while she ate. It was unsettling, she was used to more noise and chaos when Harley was was so different this time? Had Joker finally pushed her too far? Harley had never alluded to Joker sexually assaulting her before but that didn't mean he hadn' brushed off the thought before she lost her shit again. Harley would be okay; she was just exhausted. Besides, this was the first time Harley had said she didn't want to go back and that had to be good sign.

She decided to go out for groceries and left a note for Harley on the kitchen table. She walked to the shops with herheadphones in, pointedly ignoring anyone who even glanced her way. She stocked up on her usual items as well as a lot of sweets and ice-cream for Harley before hitting the meat section for thought as she saw all the animal carcasses before buying a bunch of steaks for Harley's pet. 'The things I do for you Harley. I don't even like that over-protective mutt' She thought as the deli member handed her the meat, refusing to admit she was growing a soft spot for the animal.

She headed back home enlisting the help of her vines to carry in the shopping. Lou eagerly met her at the door sniffing her bags ferociously. "Alright, alright hold on, I'll feed you." As she focused on keeping Lou from tearing the shopping bags apart, she heard Harley come barrelling towards her and braced herself as the blonde wrapped her arms around her nearly knocking her over. "Pammy you're back!" Ivy heard the slur in Harley's words and then caught the distinct scent of cheap tequila and artificial fruit juice.

"H-Harley, I can't breathe." Ivy stuttered out still trying to focus on her vines wrestling the bags away from Lou. "Opps! Sorry, I just missed ya!" Harley let Ivy go and assisted by picking Lou up like a baby and carrying him away. Ivy placed the shopping on the counter and Harley began helping her put the various items away. "Thanks for all this Red, and fer making sure Lou's got plenty ta eat. If I didn't know better I'd say you love him just as much as I do!" Harley said smiling and placing the steak in one of Ivy's favourite bowls before giving it to the Hyena. Ivy cringed and made a mental to note fully sanitise the bowl later.

Ivy spied the margarita mix open on the counter. "You've been busy while I was gone." She said as she gestured to the already half empty bottle. "I got bored waiting for ya and found it the cupboard, hope ya'don mind." Ivy gave her a small laugh, she and Harley both knew Ivy only bought it for Harley, she wouldn't go near the nasty stuff. "There's enough left for both of us! Come on have a drink with me!"

Ivy made a face at that. "I'm good, thank you. Plus it's dinner time, we need to get some food in to you, you've barely eaten all day and don't think drinkingthaton an empty stomach is such a great idea."

"Always so responsible Pammy! Come on, I saw you have Gin in your pantry." Harley said wiggling her eye brows at Ivy suggestively and already grabbing the bottle out. Ivy sighed. "Maybe one drink" Harley squealed. "But! Only after dinner, what do you want, I got all your favourites." Ivy continued. Harley huffed and pouted at Ivy but eventually gave in. They decided on home-made pizzas. Ivy had a responsible pizza with lots of veggies whilst Harley made a meat-lovers style pizza with a disgusting amount of barbeque sauce and pineapple.

They ate on the couch whilst Harley watched some new reality TV show that Ivy couldn't even pretend to be interested in. She mostly watched Harley as she ate smiling when she saw the sauce stuck to Harley's chin. Harley did seem better Ivy thought. Being drunk by 6pm was a little concerning but nothingtoounusual for her. She took in the rest of Harleys features; the bruising had gone down and the cuts on her lip and cheek were healing nicely thanks to Ivy's cream. She was still moving stiffly but that was to be expected considering how badly beaten her body was. Ivy noticed the deep purple bags under Harley's eyes had only gotten bigger.

"Stop staring at me Red!" Harley suddenly said, playfully slapping Ivy on the arm, startling Ivy from her thoughts. Ivy immediately went red "I-I wasn'tstaringat you" Ivy denied. "Uh-huh." Harley said getting up from the couch stumbling a little as she took their plates to the kitchen. "Time for a drink! Gin and tonic with a squeeze of lime?" Harley offered remembering how Ivy liked her drink. "Fine! But I am not getting drunk tonight Harley. One drink." Ivy said sternly

An hour later and one drink somehow turned into four. Ivy was definitely feeling it and didn't understand how the blonde was still conscious. They were back on the couch arguing about which couple was going to make through to the next round on the TV show Ivy was now fully invested in. Ivy eventually accepted defeat laughing along with Harley.

After a few minutes of silence Ivy noticed Harley's eyes beginning to drift shut, her drink still in hand. She gently prodded the girl on the shoulder waking her up. "You want to go bed?" She asked softly. Harley sat bolt upright lightly slapping herself on the cheek. "No-pe! I'm good! Ready for another re-fil! You want one?"

"Definitely not, any more and I'm gonna puke." Ivy said as she followed Harley to the kitchen feeling her head spin as she stood up. Harley almost tripped on her way there but Ivy managed to catch her. As Harley went to pour another drink Ivy placed her hand atop of Harley's to stop her. "We should both go to bed. Harley flinched at the contact but didn't pull away. "Aww but I'm not tired!" Harley whined but stopped reaching for the bottle. They were both leaning against the counter now and Harley turned to face Ivy standing very close to the older woman. She had the cutest pout and puppy dog eyes on, a face she knew was difficult for Ivy to resist.

Ivy placed her hand gently on Harley's cheek lightly thumbing over the dark spots under Harley's eyes. "You look tired Peanut, did you manage to get more sleep?" She asked softly. Harley looked down. "N-not really." She mumbled in response. "Another nightmare?" Ivy guessed and Harley nodded her head. "Do you wanna talk about it?" Ivy asked and Harley shook her head no. "I don't want to think about it." Harley said dismissively. She took another tiny step closer towards Ivy. Ivy's breath picked up as she was now hyper aware of how close they were.

"Can't we just stay up a little longer Red?" Harley said and Ivy thought she caught a huskiness to her voice that wasn't there before. Harley slowly placed one of her hands on Ivy's waste and twisted the two so that Ivy now had her back to the counter with Harley in front of her pressing her body into Ivy's. Ivy stiffened; this position was definitelynotfriendly. "Wh-what are you doing?" Ivy managed to squeak out. Harley raised her head meeting Ivy's gaze before noticeably looking down at Ivy's lips. Harley reached up on tippy toes and lightly placed her lips against Ivy's neck. Ivy felt electricity shoot through her body at soft touch on her neck and her eyes drifted shut for just a moment before they shot back open sobering herself to the situation.

As she felt another kiss on her neck, she leant back further on the counter pulling away from Harley as much as body would allow. This did not work as Harley just pressed her body into Ivy's further and she stretched up higher to whisper in Ivy's ear. "Help me take my mind off things Red." Ivy's breath hitched at the ticklish sensation from Harley's lips gently grazing her earlobe. Every part of Ivy'sbody was screaming at her to grab Harley around the waste and kiss her but Ivy knew this situation was not right. Harley moved down Ivy's jaw brushing her lips against the skin as she did. She stopped just before older womans lips and looked up making eye contact again. "Harley you're drunk, we should stop." Ivy said rather unconvincingly.

"I've got to do something to make upya takin' me in and lookin' after me Red." This comment pulled Ivy up short

"Make it up to me?" Ivy asked.

"You're always so good to me, and I never give ya nothin'in return." Harley stated as she went back to kissing Ivy's neck. As much as Ivy had dreamed of this moment there were many alarms going off in her head. Harley was drunk, it had only been one day since she had escaped Joker and, she was still healing physically from the damage that had been done and had not even begunemotionallyhealing either.

Ivy gently pushed Harley off of her by the shoulders. "Harls look at me." Harley did so but Ivy could see her eyes were unfocused from the effects of the alcohol. "I didn't help you expecting sex, or anything else, in return, I helped you because we're friends and I care about you." Ivy said clearly. The thought that Harley was just doing this for Ivy's benefit and to please her made Ivy feel this how it was with Joker? She thought

"Come on Pammy, I've seen the way you look at me." Harley slurred as she leaned back in. Ivy stiffened. "What are you talking about?" She asked pushing her off with more effect this time. "Do ya not want this Red?" Harley asked quizzically.

"I asked you what you meant by 'You've seen the way I look at you.'?" Ivy asked again, feeling her cheeks flush for a different reason now.'Did Harley know?'Ivy thought.

"Imma psychiatrist Pammy, I can read facial expressions and body language. Come on, I just want to forget for a little bit" Harley said swaying as she stood. She made to move back in to Ivy's body not picking up on the shift in tone from Ivy.

"Harley, stop." Ivy said, raising her voice now. She was hurt. 'How long had she known? Was she just using me?'Ivy thought, her mind racing through all the times Harley had come to her in the middle of the night expecting her to patch her up, cuddling with her in bed, and then heading straight back in to the arms of Joker when she was done with her.

Harley visibly recoiled at her tonetaking a step away from Ivy. "Wha-what's wrong? I thought you would want this?"

"What's wrong?!" Ivy said, she was too angry to see the way Harley's eyes shifted to fear. "How long have you known?"

Harley looked down at her feet, finally sensing she had messed up. "I dunno, I suspected for a while I guess. I hadn't really thought about it that much." Harley said trailing off, feeling her eyes begin to feel with tears. She hadn't meant for it to go down like this.

Ivy let out a humourless laugh. "A while?! And what? You've just been using me since then? Knowing I'll just let you waltz in and out of my life whenever you damn well please because you know Ilikeyou?" Ivy said folding her arms against her chest, her heart racing with anger and hurt.

"N-no, no that's not what I'm doing - " Harley tried to defend. "Bullshit that's not what you're doing. God I'm so stupid!" Ivy said throwing her hands up in anger. This time she noticed the way Harley flinched away from the gesture. She was still angry but hated to see Harley scared of her, she made a conscious effort to lower her arms and pin them down to her sides.

"I'm s-sorry. Pam please I didn't mean for this to happen." Harley said, the tears now breaking free and running down her cheeks. "Then what did you mean to happen Harley?" Ivy asked. She was ready to close herself off again and leave the conversation. "I trusted you, and you've just been letting me do anything and everything for you like somepathetic puppy this whole time?"

"That's not what I was doing, please Pam. I'm sorry. I-I I wasn't th-thinking straight." Harley stuttered out.

Pam laughed again. "You've just been leading me on this whole time so you always have a backup when you and Joker are off again. Then when you're done with me you just toss to me to side like garbage and I don't hear a word from you for months! How long before you next go crawling back to him and forget I exist again?" Ivy knew she was going too far but she was so hurt and angry and the alcohol was not helping her sense of judgement. Harley went to apologise again but Ivy cut her off before she had the chance "Save it." She said coldly moving to stand facing away from the blonde.

Harley began to backaway from Ivy. Her breathing was coming so short and quick it sounded like she was about to start hyperventilating. She turned and began walking out of the kitchen bumping her hip against the counter as she stumbled away.

Ivy tried not to watch her go but couldn't help herself. She was starting to feel regret at her words as she watched Harley stumble her way in to her room. "Fuck"She whispered as she leaned her arms against the counter placing her head in her hands.

Before she could dwell on what the hell she was supposed to do now she saw Harley reappear from the bedroom, with a backpack slung over one shoulder. "Where are you going?" She asked concerned. Harley didn't look at her as she called Lou off the couch. He whined at her and didn't appear to want to follow. "Come on Louie, we gotta go." Harley pleaded through thick tears her voice breaking on each word.

"Harley it's the middle of the night and you're drunk, stay here and we can talk in the morning." Ivy was scared. She could only think of one place Harley could go right now.

"I-I'm fine Red. I know you don't want to hear it but I'm reallyreallysorry." Harley said still not looking at Ivy and instead occupying herself with trying to pull the uncooperative hyena from his cozy spot on the couch.

Ivy wanted to tell Harley that it was fine, she forgave her, she wasn't upset but she couldn't make herself form the words. She was hurt, but that didn't mean she wanted Harley to go. Harley succeeded in pulling Lou by the collar off the couch, he huffed at her visibly unhappy but followed her to the door. As Harley placed her hand on the door Ivy started walking towards her. "Please Harley, please don't leave."

Harley paused. "You're right Red, I fucked up and I've been selfish staying here. I'm so sorry." And then she turned the handle and was out the door before Ivy could stop her. Ivy was frozen where she stood for a few seconds before she finally reacted. She raced to the door and opened it looking out but Harley was gone.
