His demon blood technique is Moon of Intoxication. Whatever substances he consumes remain in his blood, and when he uses his pipe he can force those substances out into the smoke produced from his blood
Ruri is easily confused by modern technology
BackstoryGreatest Fear
Ruri is fearful and wary of other demons. When possible he will kill them, or corner them before daybreak.
Critical of Others
Ruri looks at the world with suspicion. His mother told him stories about customers, and then he saw them first-hand after his father was kicked out of the country by an uncaring government.
Ruri is critical of any system that takes advantage of people
What is a firm belief they hold

When hurting someone unintentionally he will apologize profusely. When it is done intentionally, his attitude will become haughty and aloof.
Ruri has forgotten his father, but still remembers how much the loss of his mother affected him, though he does not know who she was to him anymore. He does not keep mirrors around, because every time he catches sight of his own eyes, he tries to claw them out
Though the sun will kill him, Ruri often flirts death by pushing how long he can stand it without dying
He hates being perceived and panics whenever people acknowledge him
Ruri is very honest to himself, but begin lying when the twins showed up. Despite spending years telling himself he was going to eat them when they got large enough, he still sent them away before he could succumb to the temptation. When they returned to kill him, he swore he would kill them first and finally devour them, but that too was a lie and he failed. Imprisoned on the wisteria mountain he swore that one day he would break free and find them. Those three never met again

Method of Manipulation
Ruri pretends to be a deity in order to sneak up on or lure prey to where he wants
Pretending to be a mountain god helps hide the fact that he is a demon, so any disappearances are attributed to sacrifices or divine justice. By causing hallucinations or intoxication he can make witnesses seem unreliable. His umbrella is also important, used to shield him from the sun whenever he conducts a 'daylight appearance' to reinforce the lie.
Since he targets primarily bandits and people that are complained about at his shrine, the local populations believe him to be a deity of vengeance and justice. When the evil or detested go missing, no one will look for them or report a demon, because it is their 'god's will'
Because of this there are few humans that approach Ruri's mountain with conflict in mind. Demon slayers are actively refused from the area and fellow demons wader in without knowing, and are killed quickly
Though he hates manipulation, Ruri sees this lie as a necessary evil for his survival
He hates being controlled, but if someone is capable of it he will submit with little resistance
