Worlds Collide: Triple Trouble

Before this part begins I think I should go over Quill and his abilities before I get lowkey hate for "Powerful OC do not steal".
Quill's Stats:

Speed: 3

Power: 2
Flight: 1

Technique: 5
Abilities:
Super Speed - He's not as fast as Sonic or Even Lilac, but he's able to keep up at moderate paces.
Predator's Eyes - Channeling the energies that guarding the Cosmic Beryl gave him, he's able to freeze beings in their tracks by triggering their Prey instinct. He normally uses this for Hunting but he's found use for it while fighting others.
Chem Quill - By Channeling the energies that guarding the Cosmic Beryle gave him, he's able to add energy to his quills that act like Chemicals. These include Paralysis, Poison, Sleep, Nerve Sensitivity, and other effects.
Cosmic Slip - Due to the nature of the fused worlds, he can teleport similar to Chaos Control. He can even grab multiple people with him.

Excellent Marksman - Can snipe targets using his Quill Launcher, a slingshot made specifically for his Quills. His accuracy is second to none.

Big Trouble in Shang Mu Part 2

Lilac and Sonic blazed through the vibrant streets of the newly christened Shang Mu Entertainment Zone, the wind rushing past as the colorful lights of the city flashed around them. The hustle and bustle of the entertainment district filled the air, but the speedsters were in their own world, moving too fast to be noticed by the passersby.

Sonic let out an appreciative whistle as they skidded to a stop atop a high platform, overlooking the dazzling cityscape below. The neon lights and towering buildings were a sight to behold.

"This place…" Sonic mused, "kinda reminds me of my time in Chun-nan and Aquarium Park."

Lilac, remembering their cover story, leaned into him naturally, playing her part as his "girlfriend." They had discussed the plan before entering the city: if they were going to keep their cover intact, they had to look the part. She looked up at him with curiosity, playing her role perfectly. "Chun-nan? Aquarium Park? Tell me about them," she asked softly, giving him an earnest look.

Sonic wrapped an arm around Lilac, a move they'd agreed would sell their act, but Lilac couldn't help the blush creeping up her cheeks. Trying to ignore it, she listened as Sonic started recounting his past adventures.

"Well, there was this one time Eggman tried to break the Earth apart to free this dark deity called Dark Gaia. I had to race around the world, restoring the planet piece by piece," Sonic explained, his tone a mix of nostalgia and excitement.

Lilac's eyes widened in shock. "That sounds crazy," she said, her tone full of awe.

Sonic chuckled. "Oh, it was. If it wasn't for the help of the deity's counterpart, Chip, the world probably would've been destroyed."

"Chip?" Lilac asked, tilting her head slightly.

"Yeah, he was Light Gaia, Dark Gaia's counterpart," Sonic explained. "Without him, it would've been a much tougher battle."

Lilac blinked, processing the weight of what Sonic had just shared. "You've really been through a lot," she said, her voice reflecting genuine surprise.

Sonic grinned, though a bit sheepishly. "Guess I have. But hey, it's all in a day's work for the fastest thing alive."

Lilac smirked at his confidence but quickly shifted topics. "What about Aquarium Park?"

Sonic rubbed the back of his neck, chuckling. "Well, that one's a bit... out there. Eggman kidnapped several small planets and turned them into an interstellar amusement park."

Lilac blinked, her expression slowly turning into a deadpan look. "He kidnapped planets... and turned them into a theme park?"

Sonic gave her a sheepish grin, holding up his hands defensively. "Yeah, I know. Sounds weird, right? But his plan wasn't just about the theme park. He was using the aliens from those planets—the Wisps—to power a mind control ray."

Lilac stared at him, still processing the absurdity of it all. "The creatures I've seen all over the Resistance base… they're aliens?"

Sonic nodded. "Yep, those are the Wisps. After I freed their planets, a bunch of them decided to stay on Earth. They're actually pretty helpful."

Lilac shook her head in disbelief. "So, Eggman kidnaps planets and turns them into amusement parks. And then he tries to use the aliens to mind-control everyone. What next?"

Sonic chuckled. "With Eggman? You never know." He thought for a moment, realizing that the closeness he was sharing with Lilac felt... nice. Different from whenever Amy hugged him. He felt a light blush creeping up and quickly tried to look away, hoping to hide it.

But Lilac caught the blush and grinned, teasing him. "You were thinking of something cute, weren't you?"

Sonic opened his mouth to deny it, but before he could respond, his instincts kicked in. He scooped up Lilac in a flash and leapt backward, just in time to dodge a spark of electricity that crackled through the air. Lilac instinctively clung to Sonic, her body tensing at the sight of the electricity. Even after everything, she still had a visceral reaction to it.

A mocking voice rang out. "I can't believe that foolish commercial was actually true," the voice sneered.

Lilac froze in Sonic's arms, recognizing the voice. They both looked up to see four figures materialize in front of them. The first was a Mobian who bore a striking resemblance to Sonic, though his fur was brown and he had a lot more quills. Standing next to him was a green Tenrec, a blue Fennec Fox, and finally, the one person Lilac recognized instantly.

Her voice trembled slightly as she called out, "Merga?!"

Sonic added, "Surge and Kit, too… but I don't know who the new guy is."

The brown-furred Mobian stepped forward, introducing himself with a smirk. "I'm Quill. So, Sonic, are you too busy with your love life to be stopping Eggman?"

Sonic grinned confidently, never missing a beat. "Nah, I just thought I'd snag the Chaos Emerald for myself. You know, grand prizes are hard to ignore."

As Sonic carefully set Lilac back onto her feet, she turned to Merga, still shocked by her sudden appearance. "What are you doing here?" she demanded, her voice a mix of confusion and wariness.

Merga snorted, crossing her arms with an amused expression. "Isn't it obvious? I'm here to watch Quill and Surge win the Chaos Emerald," she replied. "But I've got to admit, Lilac… I'm surprised to see you in a relationship."

Before Lilac could respond, Merga smirked even wider and teasingly added, "What's the plan, Lilac? You trying to repopulate our people or something?"

Lilac's face turned a deep shade of red at Merga's teasing, completely caught off guard by the comment. Sonic, standing next to her, couldn't help but blush too, thinking to himself that maybe their ruse had been too convincing.

Merga, still crossing her arms with a smug expression, glanced between Sonic and Lilac. "Seems like what my compatriots told me is true—barring Surge's sneering," she added, prompting an indignant "Hey!" from Surge. Merga smirked. "He's a fine match to help repopulate the Water Dragons, though it's a shame to see you both lose to my team."

Sonic immediately shifted into a more focused stance. "Oh, really?" he challenged, his cocky grin returning.

Quill stepped forward, his smirk widening. "Yeah, really. While you two have been busy playing house, I've been tearing through Eggman's pop-up bases ever since he destroyed the Cosmic Beryl."

At the mention of the Cosmic Beryl, both Lilac and Sonic froze, their eyes widening in shock. They had thought only the Resistance knew the truth about the world merger.

Quill, noticing their stunned expressions, chuckled darkly. "Yeah, I know all about it. Eggman's little stunt with the Cosmic Beryl—merging the worlds? Why don't you two keep playing house—or don't. Either way, Eggman is going to pay, and I'm going to make sure of that."

Before Sonic or Lilac could react, Quill, Surge, Kit, and Merga vanished, disappearing in an instant.

Sonic and Lilac exchanged concerned looks. This situation had just gotten far more complicated. They needed answers—and fast.

"We need to meet up with Fark and Jewel, now," Sonic said, his voice more serious than before.

Lilac nodded, her focus sharpened. "Agreed. Things are escalating."

Without wasting another second, they sped off through the city, heading straight for their allies, determined to regroup and figure out their next move.

In the dimly lit confines of an underground base, Clutch sat behind an opulent desk, adorned with lavish trinkets and golden accents. He lounged comfortably in his seat, his sharp eyes watching as Spade approached, the roboticized panda standing at attention before his superior.

Clutch's voice was smooth, laced with a calculated coolness. "Give me the report."

Spade, ever the disciplined soldier, nodded before speaking. "Sonic and Lilac have been spotted in the city. The rumors spread by Mayor Zao about their… relationship seem to be true."

Clutch leaned forward, his fingers steepled. "You don't sound convinced, Spade," he observed, his tone probing.

Spade frowned slightly, his expression thoughtful. "From what I remember, neither Lilac nor Carol showed any interest in anyone when they were part of the Red Scarves. They were too focused on doing the right thing, always putting the cause of justice above everything else. It just doesn't add up."

Clutch sneered, clearly unimpressed by such ideals. "People like that always leave a sour taste in my mouth. No wonder they turned out to be 'good guys.'" He scoffed before adding, "This must be a ploy to trick Zao. A shame—I was really looking forward to cashing in that bounty. But, business is business."

He waved it off dismissively before shifting topics. "How's recruitment going?"

Spade's eyes narrowed slightly. "I haven't been able to find Corazon, but Aaa has joined our forces. With him on board, we've got an engineer almost on par with Lord Eggman working from the base."

Clutch chuckled to himself, satisfied. "Good. Very good." He motioned with his hand, a signal to dismiss Spade.

Without another word, Spade gave a nod and exited the room, leaving Clutch alone in his luxurious office. Once the door slid shut behind him, Clutch leaned back in his chair, a self-satisfied grin spreading across his face.

He marveled at the sheer ingenuity of Eggman, thinking aloud to himself. "Repurposing the Metal Virus on a smaller scale, turning people into pawns... A stroke of brilliance. It's made expanding our enterprise ridiculously easy."

Clutch's eyes gleamed with anticipation. With Eggman's technology, and their growing forces, the future was looking very lucrative indeed.

Sonic and Lilac sped through the bustling streets of Shang Mu, arriving at the designated meeting point where Fark and Jewel were waiting. Jewel greeted them warmly, but she quickly noticed the serious expressions on their faces. Her smile faded into concern.

"Something happened, didn't it?" Jewel asked, her voice lowering with a sense of urgency.

Sonic nodded. "Yeah, it's bad. We need to talk somewhere private."

Understanding the gravity of the situation, Jewel led them through a narrow alleyway and down into a hidden entrance beneath a small apartment complex. It opened into an underground facility—modest but secure—now serving as their new base of operations. Once inside the command center, the tension in the room was palpable.

Jewel turned to them, her concern deepening. "What happened?"

Sonic and Lilac exchanged a quick glance before Lilac spoke up. "We need to report this to everyone," she said, her voice heavy with urgency.

A few moments later, a hologram projector in the center of the room flickered to life. The holograms of The Magister, Neera, Tails, Amy, Carol, and Milla appeared before them, each looking ready for whatever news was coming.

Jewel stood straight, addressing the group. "Thank you all for responding on such short notice."

The Magister gave a small nod, his expression calm. "It's no trouble, Jewel. Now, what is the reason for this impromptu meeting?"

Lilac stepped forward, taking a deep breath. "Sonic and I were ambushed by a new group," she began.

Sonic quickly followed up. "This group includes a new guy named Quill, and he's working with Surge, Kitsunami, and… a woman named Merga."

The Avalicians gasped at the mention of Merga's name. Carol was the first to speak. "Wait—Merga? Is she really back?"

Lilac nodded solemnly. "Yes, it was really her. She's following this Quill, and there's more. Quill knows exactly why the worlds merged—he knows all the details."

Milla, always the thoughtful one, chimed in after a brief pause. "Maybe this Quill person is the Guardian, like how Knuckles is for the Master Emerald? That would explain how he knew the exact details of the events of what happened before the merger."

The Magister rubbed his chin in contemplation. "That's certainly a possibility."

Sonic crossed his arms, his voice dropping into a more serious tone. "There's something else. This Quill has a serious hatred for Eggman, and I believe, if given the chance, he'll kill him."

Lilac nodded in agreement. "He seems to have no love for either me or Sonic, either. He's convinced we're not taking the situation seriously enough. He even fell for that whole 'relationship' plot, thinking we're distracted."

The room fell silent for a moment as the gravity of the situation set in.

As the weight of the situation sank in, Carol couldn't hold back any longer. She groaned loudly, throwing her hands up in frustration. "First the worlds merge, then we're contending with a guy who's just as dangerous as Brevon. There still haven't been any signs of the Red Scarves, and now there's another group with someone potentially more dangerous than Merga—and, oh yeah, Merga's back!"

Neera shot her a sharp glance. "Calm yourself, Carol," she said, though there was a hint of understanding in her tone. "While your summary is… accurate, panic won't help."

Amy crossed her arms, frowning thoughtfully. "Do we need to rethink the mission? Maybe it's time to stop this charade and just plead with Zao to give us the Chaos Emerald."

Fark stepped forward, shaking his head. "No. We should stick to the plan. The mission needs to go ahead as scheduled. I'll be working in the background to make sure everything goes smoothly."

Milla tilted her head curiously. "How are you going to do that?" she asked.

Fark glanced at her before revealing his plan. "If I can come into contact with a powerful source of energy, I can transform into my strongest form."

Sonic, intrigued, raised an eyebrow. "You mean like all seven Chaos Emeralds?"

Fark shook his head. "No, nothing that extreme. I just need a large jolt of electricity."

Everyone paused for a moment, processing his words, before Fark continued. "When the worlds merged, I was reverted back to this form. But in my true form, my strength is far greater."

Tails perked up at that, his analytical mind already racing with ideas. "Would a Wisp help?"

Fark seemed curious, as he'd seen the small creatures around but had never interacted with them. "What's a Wisp?"

Tails turned to the group and began to explain. "Wisps are aliens from other planets. They produce Hyper-go-on energy, which is extremely powerful. In theory, a Laser Wisp could give you the electricity you need. They generate huge amounts of electrical energy."

Amy then chimed in, "But to access that kind of energy, you'll need to come back to the Resistance base."

Fark nodded, processing the plan. "Alright. I'll escort Jewel back as well."

Jewel, caught off guard by his sudden offer, glanced at Fark in surprise. Before she could respond, she heard his voice inside her head, calm but firm. [You've been working too hard. The sudden changes are wearing you down. You need proper rest.]

Jewel's eyes softened at his words, and after a moment of thought, she spoke aloud. "I… agree. I think that's the best course of action."

Jewel looked at Fark, her brow furrowed in concern. "What do you think it might be?" she asked, her voice quiet but filled with curiosity.

Fark crossed his arms, his expression thoughtful. "I'm not sure yet," he admitted. "But whatever it is, it definitely has to do with the worlds' merging. The energy fluctuations… they're tied to that event, I'm certain."

Jewel's eyes lingered on Fark, her thoughts racing as the uncertainty hung in the air between them. Whatever was happening, it was bigger than any of them realized.

The grand halls of Zao's mansion were quiet as the mayor prepared for the night. He hummed to himself, absently adjusting the ornate decorations in his room, clearly satisfied with how the day had gone. However, a chilling voice interrupted his routine.

"Hello, Zao," the voice called out, hauntingly familiar.

Zao froze, his heart racing as the blood drained from his face. Slowly, he turned around, his breath catching in his throat as his eyes landed on the towering figure of Merga, standing ominously in the shadows. Beside her stood a blue Fennec Fox Mobian.

"M-Merga…," Zao stuttered, barely able to speak her name.

Merga raised a clawed hand, signaling for him to be at peace. "Relax, Zao," she said smoothly. "I'm not here to harm you. Quite the opposite—I'm here to help."

Zao hesitated, his panic subsiding just slightly, though suspicion remained in his eyes. "Why would you want to help me?" he questioned warily.

Merga stepped closer, her golden eyes gleaming with dangerous knowledge. "I've learned some troubling things from my ally, Quill," she began. "About this Doctor Eggman and how dangerous he truly is. Think of him like Brevon—remember that name?"

Zao's face paled even further as memories of King Dail's father and the devastating war against Brevon flooded back. He swallowed hard, his voice shaky. "Brevon… we nearly lost everything because of him."

Merga nodded, her expression grave. "Exactly. Eggman is cut from the same cloth, maybe worse. That's why my team will be competing in the tournament, but Kit and I will be here to protect you from that man."

Zao, still unsure of her motives, squinted at her, suspicion creeping back into his tone. "Is this another ploy?"

Merga shook her head. "No tricks, Zao. I assure you, we're here for your protection."

She glanced out the window toward the sprawling cityscape. "You may not have noticed, but there's been increased activity from the Red Scarves in the city ever since you announced the Chaos Emerald as the prize."

Kit, standing quietly beside Merga, finally spoke up, his soft voice carrying weight. "Our last raid on one of Eggman's pop-up bases failed. There was a large number of Red Scarves protecting it."

Zao groaned, running a hand down his face. "The Red Scarves... Why didn't I see this coming?" He sighed deeply, feeling the weight of his choices catching up to him. "I wonder if it's too late to put that bounty back up on Lilac and Sonic."
