When classes started, I tried my best to separate myself from everyone else by using my real accent. I was upset by the fact that I had to redo this from the beginning again, but the professors just thought I had talent. I secretly wanted to tell someone that I'd rather die, but I didn't have anyone to tell.

Tom tried to get closer to me so that I would tell him what his greater advantage was, but I refused to tell him.

"Why can't you just tell me, O'Brien?" Riddle asked, "I've asked you at least twenty times already." I rolled my eyes.

"46," I said, "You asked me 46 times and it's only been two and a half weeks."

"So, why won't you tell me?" Tom asked.

"To- I mean, Riddle," I said, "I won't tell you because you have to figure it out on your own." Tom frowned.

"I'll let you call me Tom if you just tell me," Tom said. I sighed, he caught me almost calling him by his first name.

"Call me Briar," I said, "I'll tell you if you call me Briar." Tom raised an eyebrow.

"Why Briar?" Tom asked, "It isn't even remotely close to your first name."

"It's my middle name," I lied, it was actually my maiden name.

"Okay, Briar," Tom said, "What is my advantage?"

"Come closer," I said. Tom moved closer to me. Then I whispered, "Because you can talk to snakes. I saw you talk to a small snake when I first arrived." Tom moved away and stared at me.

"Why's that an advantage?" Tom asked.

"Because only a few can do it," I said.

"Really?" Tom asked.

"If you'd rather believe that I'm stupid, than believe me on this," I said, "I'd rather not be your friend or in any relation of any kind with you." Tom seemed to think that I was overreacting, but only I could figure it out as his expression only shifted a smidge.

"I don't know why you want me to believe you to that extent," Tom said.

"It's vital," I said.

"I'd believe you about that even if you didn't go that far," Tom said, "I was just a bit hesitant as I believed that everyone could do it."

"But Tom, that's why you're special," I said, "You can do something not everyone can and even though it might be seen as a bad thing if you were in another house, but we're Slytherins afterall. I think our founder could do it too." I was basing all this information off what I had been told by Tom in my first time loop. Tom put his hands over my mouth and looked around, but nobody was around.

"Why are you talking so loudly, Briar?" Tom asked. I stared at him and he pulled his hands away. I grabbed his tie and pulled him into a kiss. He seemed really surprised. "What was that for?"

"I don't know," I said, "Oh, and I'm pretty sure you heard, but I lied about having a boyfriend." I have a husband instead, who's probably pissed to hell and back that I'm gone.

"Why?" Tom asked.

"Because some people don't take no for an answer unless I say that," I said, "And honestly, I'd rather just be as ugly as I feel inside on the outside."

"Why do you say that?" Tom asked.

"I hate having people like me for only my face," I said, "I'd rather they like me for my personality, but my personality is rubbish and to be honest I'm kind of a coward, though if I wasn't a coward I wouldn't be here."

"What do you mean?" Tom asked.

"Which part?" I asked.

"The last part," Tom said, "The part where you said that if you weren't a coward you wouldn't be here." I frowned, should I tell him the truth? That I was being held hostage in this place and time period because I was a coward who didn't fight back after being kidnapped? Or that the money I have now is bribery to stay here in this time and place? Or that I'm so sick and tired of tormenting myself into believing that I still have a place to return to in my own time and place, when it's clearly not possible?

"I can explain everything aside from that," is what I wanted to say, but what came out was "I have to die to be able to explain that." Tom stared at me, his expression seemed a bit odd, but then everything went black again.

"Why did you have to go and say that?!" a familiar voice said, "Start over from before you met him now."
