Adam and Alanna are rushed to Crater Island. Adam hasn't stopped apologising but Alanna keeps cutting him off.
The last thing Adam remembers hearing from Sardath is him thanking Adam, but he doesn't know what for.
Vath had spent some time training Adam the last couple of days on how to fly the rocket-backpack. Sardath didn't want Adam to get practice shooting the laser gun but Adam would sneak in practices at night.
Once Prince Ragnar was off planet, Sardath and the authorities contacted the Green Lantern Corps but they wanted to be safe and still send Alanna and Adam off planet too.
Prince Ragnar boards his jumpship, leaving Rann's orbit, a single tear hits the Prince's comfy seat. Once he returns to a Betrassian spaceship stationed nearby to Rann, Prince Ragnar heads straight for his father's quarters.
As Prince Ragnar enters his father's chambers, the King acknowledges his son first.
"My first born and heir to my love and wealth," the King changes positions "do you have good news."
Prince Ragnar is still walking to the King's bed. When he finally gets there, he kneels and bows his head.
"I'm sorry King Nol." the Prince bites his bottom lip as a woman moans.
The King shushes the women around him and apologizes to his son.
"Her father entered and brought with him a defender." the Prince informs the King.
"That's too bad," the King gets out from under three of the women "and I was hoping we could get a Rannian since we can't get a Kryptonian."
"Yes, father."
"There's my son," the King puts on a robe "give me a hug."
The Prince rushes to give the king a hug.
"So war it is." the King whispers in his ear.
Prince Ragnar nods in answer.
Back on Rann, Sardath is in a room with some other officials after calling the Corps in the city of Kallanor. These heads of states are more annoyed than anything, they turn to Sardath to ask him about his involvement but Sardath doesn't answer.
Vath returns to Sardath's side and immediately Sardath is war ready and explains to the Heads of State that they will be on the defensive.
Again the Heads of State ask him his involvement and he finally tells them.
"Our social standing among the intergalactic community has been lacking the last few years since we've become more and more sterile."
"But how does war fix this?" asked an official.
"I'm not looking for war," Sardath cuts in "but the common Rannian's spirit is being diminished by us selling whatever we can to get partners. All we can do is hope that we do not mate with the wrong type of society."
"Are you calling the Betrassians the 'wrong type' of society?" another official asks.
"They were on their way to the Kryptonians, that plan didn't work out and after the king lost his wife, they stopped by the Warworld to pick up weapons and a harem. It doesn't sound like a particularly peaceful society for us to associate ourselves with."
"You seemed well versed on their history before they arrived here, but told us nothing" another official starts speaking.
"And I wanted to give the young Prince a chance," Sardath cuts off the official "a chance to present his goals and ideals. Even a chance for him to fall naturally in love."
"With your daughter?" cuts in the second official.
"No," Sardath sits back in his seat "with the Rannian way."
The conversation is stopped by a giant green ball of light blinking outside the building.
"This is the Green Lantern of sector 2682, Isamot Kol. Your planet requested protection from the Betrassian armada not too far from your planet."
"The Lantern has to play defensively too." Sardath says as he gets up from his seat.
