The warm, cozy atmosphere of the Indiana Memorial Union provided the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of studying and hanging out. Veronica Lodge and Kiara Carrera sat with Gabriel and Topper at a large table near the windows, their books and laptops spread out, though more conversation was happening than actual studying.

Veronica was absentmindedly flipping through her business textbook, her thoughts wandering. "Honestly, I could probably run half of these companies better than these case studies suggest," she mused aloud, smirking.

Kiara, scribbling notes for her marine biology class, chuckled. "I have no doubt, V. But I think you should hold off on a corporate takeover until at least sophomore year."

Gabriel laughed from across the table, his easygoing charm lighting up the room. "You'll be the first to make millions out of college, Veronica. No pressure or anything."

Veronica grinned. "Oh, I thrive under pressure, Gabriel."

Topper, sitting beside Gabriel, leaned back in his chair, giving Veronica an appraising look. "I've heard of people with ambition, but you, Veronica, you seem... determined."

"Don't forget it," Veronica said smoothly, her confidence never wavering. "When I run the world, I'll make sure to give you all jobs."

Kiara laughed, tossing a crumpled paper at Veronica. "We'll be your loyal employees—can't wait."

Just as the group shared a light moment, Kiara's eyes widened as she spotted something—or rather, someone—across the room. "Oh, great. Here comes trouble," she muttered under her breath.

Veronica followed Kiara's gaze and her jaw nearly dropped. Standing near the entrance, huddled together in what could only be described as a power trio, were Sarah Cameron, Camille, and… Cheryl Blossom.

Veronica's eyes widened in shock. "What the hell is Cheryl doing here?!" she hissed, more to herself than to anyone in particular.

Kiara raised an eyebrow. "Wait, you know her? The redhead?"

"Oh, I know her," Veronica muttered darkly, her eyes narrowing. "That's Cheryl Blossom. Trust me, she's no stranger to drama. And apparently, she's decided to grace IU with her presence."

Cheryl spotted Veronica from across the room, her lips curling into a smirk. With the dramatic flair only Cheryl Blossom could pull off, she strutted toward their table, her red lips and designer outfit screaming confidence. Sarah and Camille followed behind her, the trio exuding an aura of superiority.

Cheryl reached the table and tilted her head, her eyes flashing with amusement as she looked at Veronica. "Well, well, well. If it isn't Veronica Lodge, queen of Riverdale's rubble. Fancy seeing you here at Indiana. Never took you for a Hoosier."

Veronica stood up, her own confidence not wavering for a second. "Cheryl. What a... surprise," she said, her tone dripping with condescension. "Did you run out of things to ruin in Riverdale, or are you just expanding your reign of terror?"

Cheryl laughed lightly, crossing her arms. "Oh, darling, I'm always expanding. It's called growth. But don't worry, you're not on my radar—yet."

Before Veronica could respond, Sarah chimed in, her tone dripping with smugness. "Seems like IU is full of surprises. I didn't know I'd be sharing space with someone who thinks they're royalty." Her eyes flicked to Veronica, her gaze icy. "Don't think for a second that you run this place, Veronica. You may have charmed Kiara, but that doesn't work on everyone."

Veronica's jaw tightened, but before she could snap back, Kiara stood up, moving beside her roommate. "You need to chill, Sarah. You've had a problem with Veronica from day one, and it's getting old. She's not your enemy. Just leave it alone."

Sarah's eyes flashed, clearly not expecting Kiara to defend Veronica. "Oh, so now you're defending her? I thought we were friends, Kiara."

"We are friends," Kiara shot back, her voice calm but firm. "But this isn't about sides. This is about being decent. Veronica's my roommate, and I'm not going to let you treat her like this for no reason."

Cheryl arched an eyebrow, her eyes flicking between the two girls, clearly entertained by the tension. "Oh, this is delicious. Roommate drama. I love a good soap opera. Maybe I'll stick around IU after all."

Veronica, done with the back-and-forth, turned her attention back to Cheryl. "Enjoy the show, Cheryl. Just remember, I always win."

Cheryl smirked, clearly not intimidated. "We'll see about that, Veronica. We always do."

With that, Cheryl, Sarah, and Camille strutted away, leaving the tension lingering in the air. Veronica sat back down, rolling her eyes. "Cheryl Blossom. She never changes."

Kiara shook her head, letting out a breath. "I'm sorry, V. Sarah's always been a lot, but this? She's acting like she wants a full-blown war."

Veronica smirked. "Let her. I don't have time for her games. But Cheryl? That's another story. She thrives on chaos, so trust me, this won't be the last we hear from her."

Gabriel, who had been quietly watching the exchange, leaned in. "Those girls seem... intense. Is that what Riverdale's like?"

Veronica laughed softly. "Riverdale's a circus. You have no idea."

Just as they tried to get back into their study groove, the sound of loud cheering erupted from the other side of the IMU. All four of them turned toward the commotion, and what they saw next was enough to make even Veronica's jaw drop.

There, in the middle of the common area, was Sarah Cameron, making out with none other than John B., her longtime flame from the Outer Banks. John B. had Sarah wrapped in his arms, and they were going at it like they didn't have an audience. A crowd had gathered, and among the onlookers were Christian Hughes and his Alpha Kappa Lambda frat brothers, who were cheering and clapping like it was some kind of show.

Kiara's eyes widened in disbelief. "Oh my god. What is she doing?"

Veronica's lips curled into a smirk. "Well, that escalated quickly. Looks like Sarah's not just stirring up drama with us."

Gabriel shook his head, amused. "John B. is... something else. But this? This is next-level."

Topper, who had been mostly quiet until now, crossed his arms, his face betraying a mixture of surprise and disappointment. "That's classic John B. Always making a scene."

The group watched for a few more seconds, the crowd cheering louder as Sarah and John B. continued their impromptu makeout session. Christian and his frat brothers kept egging them on, clearly enjoying the spectacle.

Kiara, clearly uncomfortable with the whole thing, shook her head. "This is so... embarrassing. Why would she do that here? In front of everyone?"

Veronica shrugged, leaning back in her chair. "Maybe she wants to prove something. Or maybe she just enjoys the attention. Either way, it's not my problem."

Gabriel chuckled, glancing over at Kiara. "Well, at least your day just got a lot more interesting."

Kiara groaned. "That's one word for it."

As the scene continued to unfold, Kiara, Veronica, Gabriel, and Topper decided to refocus their attention back on their study materials, though it was clear that the drama surrounding them wasn't about to fade anytime soon.

Veronica leaned over to Kiara, whispering with a grin. "I told you—college is just one big soap opera. And we're front-row center."

Kiara sighed, shaking her head with a smile. "Yeah, well, at least we've got each other. We'll survive this madness together."

Veronica smiled, her confidence unwavering. "Of course we will. And if Sarah or Cheryl want to come for me, they better be prepared to lose."

With that, the two girls returned to their books, knowing that the drama was far from over. But in true Veronica Lodge fashion, she was ready for whatever came next. And so was Kiara.
